When You Need that Extra Refresh
Today I woke up feeling quite blah and wanted to feel more refreshed. I don’t currently have any apparent issues with my skin but I wanted to make my skin look and feel more awake. Do you ever wake up feeling just dull and wanting to give yourself that boost, even if it’s just something small like taking the time to do your skincare? I randomly picked out the products I thought would be perfect for making my skin feel refreshed and this is what I came up with. Of course you should pick any products you feel will do the trick for you :) 1). I first cleansed my skin (and skipped the toner today) 2). I applied the The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I always apply this all over my face, including under my eyes because it’s so hydrating and gentle. 3). Next, because niacinamide is the unicorn of all skincare products and mixes well with everything, I chose to add that next. It’s great if you have any noticeable redness or blemishes. 4). I applied The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG to depuff my eyes. 5). I then followed with OLAY - Eyes Brightening Eye Cream for that extra hydration (as if I didn’t get enough from the hyaluronic acid haha). 6). Then I applied REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream I know some online articles say not to mix vitamin C with niacinamide as they think they counteract each other’s benefits, but there’s no proof that this actually happens. With that being said, I love this vitamin C gel cream because it smells amazing and it makes my skin look nice and bright. 7). And just because I felt like it, I finished with a tiny bit of The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Although my skin isn’t dry, I felt the more moisture the more refreshed I’d feel. I love all of these products and highly recommend everyone to try them out, even if it’s just a sample. I have nothing bad to say about any of them. If you’re ever just feeling dull, blah, or needing a pick-me-up, it’s nice to just take the time to treat your skin. Use the products your skin agrees with, of course. I have normal skin and I’m thankful all of these products agree with my skin.

The Ordinary: Does it Actually Work?
The Ordinary products all over the internet and people seem to really love their products ( and how affordable they are! ) This brand has helped tons of people so I wanted to try it out for myself. 😊 UPDATE: I’ve been using these for 2 weeks and my skin looks SO MUCH healthier and glowy!🙌 I have combination, sensitive, acne prone skin with hyperpigmentation and these are the products that I chose: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution This is a glycolic acid toner meaning that it is a chemical exfoliant and in my opinion it’s better than a physical exfoliant because you’re not physically scrubbing away at your skin and with that being said, a slight stinging sensation is normal. This exfoliates, brightens, and promotes even tone and texture. You can use it Am + Pm just as long as you wear spf in the daytime. Best part is it’s only $8.70 CAD!🌸 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This is a holy grail product for acne. It is a water based serum that greatly improves blemishes, enlarged pores, and oily skin. You can apply this Am + Pm without spf and I can’t wait to see how my skin gets better thanks to this serum! It’s only $5.90 CAD which is amazing for a product this effective!✨ (note: when applying, it does look a bit soapy because it is niacinamide but it blends out nicely) (Do not mix with vitamin C!!) The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% Aka vitamin C.. This has tons of benefits for your skin. It helps with hyperpigmentation, dark spots, uneven tone, signs of age, and it is an antioxidant. It’s an oil based serum meaning it should be applied after water based products and before your moisturizer. You can apply Am + Pm ( with spf ) and remember that vitamin C shouldn’t be mixed with Niacinamide! 🦋 The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA Alpha Arbutin is a brightening serum, it fades hyperpigmentation and dark spots. It’s water based and can be used Am + Pm ( with spf ) and it’s only $8.90 CAD💐 The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA This is a super hydrating moisturizer! It has a bit of a thicker, creamy texture to it and my initial thoughts were that it was going to feel too heavy and greasy on my face but once it was all blended in, it felt pretty good! It’s not too shiny on the more oily areas of my face and it keeps the dry areas nice and hydrated. It’l definitely seal in all the goodness underneath:)💖 UPDATE:The moisturizer as I mentioned is thicker than the ones I typically go for and I noticed that when I apply it and go to bed shortly after, my face sticks to my silk pillow case so it definitely takes a bit to sink into your skin hehe ** Please do your research before purchasing from The Ordinary because their products are at higher concentrations of specific ingredients. Some need to be worn with spf or layered differently and some can’t be mixed with others.**😘

Here’s my current nighttime routine! I’m currently in the process of bringing some new products into my skincare routine and it seems like I’m liking everything but I want to give my honest opinion on what I’m currently using! cocokind - Facial cleansing oil This was kindly gifted to me from cocokind and I’ve tried it a handful of times! It definitely works well to remove my makeup and I really like it. However the smell is a little bit overpowering, and sometimes the pump gets a bit stuck. Other than that it’s a great oil based cleanser! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Cleanser I absolutely love this cleanser!! I switch between this one and the simple foaming cleanser. This cleanser is perfect because it’s not stripping, but my face still feels super clean afterwards. I love the texture and the scent of this cleanser and hopefully I’ll purchase the full size when I run out! Does anyone know of any dupes for this, it’s quite expensive lol. cocokind - Glow Essence This was also gifted to me by cocokind and I really like this product! It’s a light mist that makes my skin glow instantly, and gets rid of any tightness that may come after washing my face! It’s a great product and I love that it’s all natural! The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA This is the end of my third bottle of this acid! Quite literally a lifesaver!! In August of last year I reached out to The Ordinary and asked them for product recommendations for dullness, some light scarring, and super light acne! This serum is amazing for brightening up scars and giving more glowiness to my skin in general! When first bringing it into my routine my skin purged a little bit but it cleared up within 2 weeks and was definitely worth it! The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil This is my 3rd bottle of this oil, and I really like it but it can be just a tad too heavy on my skin even though I only use it at night. I still think that it’s a great product and will continue to use it! The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I’ve tried this moisturizer a lot honestly, but I’m never impressed by it. The consistency isn’t creamy enough for my liking and I don’t feel like it really locks in my products at the end of my routine. I’m hoping to find another moisturizer that feels less tight afterwards and really leaves my skin soft and supple! cocokind - Full brow balm This was gifted to me by cocokind, and I’m honestly obsessed!! This brow balm smells like fresh coconut, and holds my brows in place for pre-makeup application, and at night it helps stimulate growth. I’ve only been using it for a week, so I haven’t noticed any growth in my brows but I’m obsessed!! I really love this product. I hope you all recommend me some products and I’ll do the same!

FINALLY RESULTS 🥳
I’ve been working towards my skin for the past 2 years slowly trying out different products trying to find something that works for me. It’s been a long ride but cherie made the process so much quicker. In the past 6 months I’ve seen more results the in the past two years before hand! I used so many products that caused so much damage in my teenage years ( I’m 25 now) I always had acne and blackheads. And though my skin is still healing and I’m working on my dark spots and pores I couldn’t be happier for this community! Thank you everyone! If your curious what my skin care routine is it is MORNING ☀️YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Cleanser (I use a konjac sponge when I cleanse) ☀️I make my own apple cider vinegar toner ☀️BOTANICS - Triple Age Renewal Super Serum ☀️The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (this was a game changer) ☀️The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA ☀️BOTANICS - Shine Away Mattifying Day Cream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15 ☀️THE inkey LIST - Brighten-i Eye Cream NIGHT 🌙ORIGINS - Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash (also use with konjac sponge) 🌙use my homemade ACV Toner 🌙Depending what I feel my skin needs that night I switch between these three products ✨The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA ✨THE inkey LIST - Alpha Hydroxy Acid Serum ✨THE inkey LIST - Retinol Anti-Aging Serum 🌙the ordinary niacinamide again 🌙the ordinary Natural moisturizing factors If you look at my page you’ll also find the masks I like to use. I always feel like my skin doesn’t always need the same thing and I personally feel like this has made the most difference in my skincare journey

Hydrating PM Routine
I don’t always use the same products since I have so many; I like to change things up. Tonight I was going for more of a hydrating routine. Step 1: I cleansed my face with the FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser This cleanser is, as the name suggests, ultra gentle and soothing. I apply this to wet skin and massage it in, ensuring I get the dirt and oil, etc. from the day off. Rinse with warm water and you’re good to go. This smells great and I’m obsessed with honey and bees so this is heaven for me. Step 2: I don’t always use a toner but tonight I felt like it. I used an old faithful: REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Toner I love this toner because it smells amazing and it gets rid of anything I may have missed while cleansing. I like using a toner when I feel like I need to exfoliate and help out my pores. I love the glow this toner gives my skin. Step 3: I can’t remember the last time I skipped out on using The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I use this every day, twice a day. AM and PM. I cannot get enough of this. I rarely have dry skin anymore because of this product. It keeps my skin so hydrated. Step 4: My other love is the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I love the Inkey List niacinamide as well, but I felt like I should pair TO with TO. Like I said above with toning, I like to keep my pores in check and this is wonderful for doing so. It decreases their appearance and if I have a spot this clears it up so quickly! Step 5: In keeping with wanting my skin to feel extra hydrated, I went with the The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil This light-weight oil is super hydrating. It’s also a great alternative to a moisturizer but is also great to mix with a moisturizer. Whenever I use this in the PM, I wake up and my skin looks really glowy and I’m all about that. Step 6: Hydrate and moisturize your under eyes if you feel like they’re looking a little dry or dull. I love love love this eye cream: OLAY - Eyes Brightening Eye Cream It smells nice and fresh, has brightening effects, and is super moisturizing. Whenever I want to add that extra moisture under my eyes this is what I reach for. Step 7: I sometimes mix the Rose Hip Seed Oil with the The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA but tonight I decided to use these separately. I adore this moisturizer because it’s really hydrating and gentle. It’s not greasy and it doesn’t clog my pores. I don’t always use a moisturizer after using Rose Hip Seed Oil but because I wanted to really moisturize my skin, I added this. Step 8: I like to add a lip scrub on occasion and I love this honey flavoured one :) It smells great and it makes your lips feel hydrated and so soft SEPHORA COLLECTION - SEPHORA COLLECTION Lip Balm & Scrub

The Ordinary saved my skin ✔️ I gave my face a break for a week and has been using hydrocortisone to relieve the itching from my allergic reaction due to CERAVE (refer to my last post) Been using the ordinary products for a week now. Will start the acids next week and I’ll give you guys an update. The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser - This cleanser is very gentle and I don’t feel any tightness after using it. It doesn’t stripped dry your face like other cleanser does. The consistency is just perfect and melts away in the skin like milk when applied. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA - I have oily skin and I feel like the moisturizer is enough to suffice the hydration in my skin. It doesn’t feel greasy at all and very lightweight. This moisturizer might not be enough for dry skin. I feel like The Ordinary products deserves the hype just because it does do its job and is very affordable. What can you complain about it?
