Pixi Beauty 🧚🏻 Fave or Meh?
Pixi Beauty has been a brand on my radar for a couple of years now. From being in Target to their cute mint green packaging I can see the appeal to a lot of people. I am very fortunate to be on their PR list (which is how I got the above) but that doesn’t mean everything automatically gets a good review form me. For the most part, from an esthetician point of view, the brand’s skincare is a pass for me. I think my problem with me and Pixi is the amount of heavy fragrance they include. Fragrance is just an unnecessary addictive in products that give you no benefits. It actually has the potential to increase sensitivity in your skin. I try my best to avoid it in products or make a conscious effort to use those formulated under 1% (which I’m guilty of not always adhering to because it can be difficult to find). I find that most products by them (and I’ve tried almost everything in the range) are more fluff than results. I will say though my favorite skincare product by them is the pixi - DetoxifEYE . If you want to give anything a try by the brand I would recommend this. For $24 you get 30 pairs of eye patches. These are my favorite to wear under make up as they act like a shield from fall out while they are hydrating the under eyes. I don’t feel like these slip and slide around so I can easily pop them on and go about my day. They have a very cooling effect to the under eye to help depuff. Ive used the pixi - T-Zone Peel Off Mask and pixi - Glow Mud Mask to multi mask before and hated it. These did absolutely nothing for my skin. Not to mention how bad in general peel off masks are for the skin and the Glow Mud Mask is so heavily fragranced it’s not even funny. I saw no results and they’ve been sitting in my drawer ever since. Most their skincare I would avoid (though they do have a few things I do like from an esthetician point of view). They have a few gems hidden in their make up as well but I find most of it over priced for the quality. You can find better quality in the drugstore for a cheaper price which is why I’d rate it a meh.
GLOW MUD MASK
pixi - Glow Mud Mask Product Claim: A purifying, glow-revealing clay mask to purify & balance skin (from pixibeauty.com) Key Ingredients: kaolin clay, sea salt, Ginseng Texture: creamy clay mask Price: $22 – 45 mL My Experience: I love this mask. This mask is like a quick facial and more. I have dry skin, so this mask is very nourishing and great for reseating my skin. My sister has combo skin type with slight acne and this mask helps the white heads appear within 20 min and also reset the skin. This mask just rejuvenates your skin! The texture isn’t chunky or too thick, so it is pretty easy to remove with a washcloth. Would I recommend?! YES! This mask is a substitute to an at home facial and also retails at a good price.

Oil control mask from pixi beauty
The pixi glow mud mask is a great one to remove the excess sebum and oil production in your skin. There are lot of mud masks which can be too drying and tightening and this is a great alternative to that. Its doesn't dry out your skin at all. After removing the mask,my skin feels softer, brighter and detoxed. The main INGREDIENTS are kaolin clay, aloe leaf extract which is calming and soothing, jojoba seed oil, rosemary extract which nourishes your skin. These combination of ingredients works so well in this mud mask without drying the skin. It's purifies my skin. Whenever I need to clear my pores, get rid of the excess oil production this is the mask I apply and in fifteen minutes my skin feels new and fresh. My pores look clean and no more sebum or greasiness on my face. The price of this is $22.

Pixi Glow Mud Mask
This mask is good for when you have congested skin and breakouts. It helps to clear out your pores and get rid of black heads. It also helps with dull skin because of the ginseng. This mask is a mud mask so it is kind of thick but easy to apply and wash off. You can see in the picture it doesn’t move around. I really like this product it makes my skin feel really clean and soft after I wash it off. My pores also appear a lot smaller after use. I use this a few times a week or whenever I feel my skin is congested. I really like this and think it is definitely worth the money as it’s 1.52 oz for $22. I recommend this product to anyone who is in the market for a nice mask. pixi - Glow Mud Mask

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
