Starface Pimple Patches—do they work?!
I’ve been keeping an eye out for these STARFACE - Hydro-Starspimple patches and I found them at Target! I’ll start by saying I ❤️ the case that they come in. It is durable and has the cutest little mirror inside. I also like that you get a lot of stars for the price—32 count for $15. The cuteness factor is outta this world🪐💫☄️ Here are the claims: •Hypoallergenic meaning it’s safe for all skin types—including pregnant women! • Hydro-Stars are made with 1 ingredient only: Hydrocolloid. Hydrocolloid is a substance borrowed from surgical dressing that’s clinically proven to help flatten pimples by absorbing bacteria and fluid. •Hydro-Stars protect your pimples from outside bacteria and interference, including your own desire to pick at them, which could cause scarring. I put these over a pimple that was popped and it definitely absorbed fluid but it didn’t absorb as much as I expected. These stars are cute but they draw so much attention to my face that it makes me self conscious—like I couldn’t wear these in public and be fine, unless it was under my mask! Which brings me to my next point, these are great for maskne and protecting your pimple from the constant rubbing of the mask. I give these a 4/5 because I love that they work and the case they come in is SO handy especially for keeping everything sanitary but, these just aren’t discreet enough for me. You can purchase refills to go back into the case! STARFACE - Hydro-Stars
Starface hydro stars— gimmick or the real deal?
First impression? Packing is bomb. The packaging makes it feel extra legit since other pimple patches just come in a regular plastic resealable bags. Starface took it to the next level. Their patches comes in this bright yellow case (following their brand theme ofc) and it’s a very very sturdy case I must say. There’s a little mirror inside that you can use when applying these patches. The inside is cut out to fit the exact dimensions of their patches so you can refill the case when it’s empty. You can even set up automatic refills on their website and decide how often you get them shipped so you don’t have to think about it after! Do these patches work? They work pretty much the same as any other hydrocolloid patches. There is no other ingredient in it other than hydrocolloid, so it’s safe for everyone to use! I find that it helps my pimples heal faster since I’m keeping them clean from bacteria (kinda like a bandaid). Hydrocolloid itself is great for healing because it helps the area hold onto moisture, which is an essential step in healing. They claim to pull the fluid out of whiteheads but it doesn’t do that for me… well, only when the pimple already popped so it’s an open wound. That’s when it’s able to absorb the leftover fluid. It’s cute to have stars on your face, yes, but tbh I’d rather your basic clear patches. I like it lowkeyyy, you know? Sometimes it looks a little crazy when I have 5+ breakouts and you just see stars all over my face LOLOL. especially if you live or share the room with others, it’s kinda amusing to see. With that being said, because it’s so fun to wear and you’re not trying to hide anything, it can make you feel better about your breakouts, which is a plus!
THE WORST ACNE PATCH🤡
I was going to review this TRULY - Blemish Treatment Acne Patches in the video but I cut right to the reveal... think it’s obvious how I felt about this. This product claims to be made with the “highest quality” Hydrocolloid there is. It is meant to “draw out pus and other impurities while creating a protective barrier that guards against external irritants” via Ulta’s website I have normal/combo skin. I also have very sensitive skin for reference 🤗 THE ONE, ONLY GOOD THING I HAVE TO SAY (aside from that it looked cute on) is that it didn’t aggravate my skin. You’re meant to stick this guy on overnight and in the morning, all the impurities are supposed to be drawn out onto the sticker. It didn’t hurt to pull it off. I personally had never tried an acne patch before this one & bought this out of desperation/ curiosity in order to get this unusually large pimple (for me) of my face. Needless to say, the video... (and the face I made lol) speaks for itself😂😅. I do not like this product. At all. In fact, I’ve tried several other brands after using this one and they were ALL SO MUCH BETTER- (STARFACE - Hydro-Stars ) I would NEVER recommend this to anyone ever🙅🏻♀️ In fact, I even returned mine since there were 27 left over that I would never use, unless to put on my laptop as stickers which is all they seemed to be good for. I gave this product TWO more tries after this initial one, and still nothing. So I think I gave it a fair shot. I was also super pissed because this was $10 at Ulta but weirdly enough $5 on American Eagle’s App?? I am totally unimpressed by this and don’t understand why it has such a high rating on Ulta.com. 🙄

Is maskne terrorizing you, too? 💥
Breaking out is normal, my skin tends to break out when I’m stressed or on my period, but now it seems like a lot of us are also being haunted by maskne. Having to wear a mask for prolonged hours combined with humidity and bacteria is proving to be a recipe for disaster. Here are three products my husband and I have been using to treat and keep maskne at bay! 🧴 cocokind - Turmeric tonic this is a personal favorite! This tonic is virtually invisible on skin thanks to its watery texture and fast absorption. Not only does it works to treat active breakouts but also as a post-acne treatment for scarring. Turmeric acts as a natural anti inflammatory, while tea tree oil works to purify and decongest skin. It also contain broccoli seed oil to keep skin moisturized while it fights acne. 🧴ROSEN SKINCARE - Break-Out this is my husband’s favorite. He struggles with cystic acne and this alcohol-free spot treatment helps him get rid of pimples fast. This one is best to use overnight as it’s more of a paste type of product. It doesn’t seem to irritate my boo’s skin and he notices a significant difference in the size and redness of his spots overnight. 🧴 STARFACE - Hydro-Stars by now I think we’re all familiar with pimple patches. My personal favorite are the Peripera kitten spot care patch, those are practically invisible and work so well, but these little stickers are both cute and effective. Pimple patches are made with hydrocolloid, a substance that helps flatten pimples by absorbing bacteria and fluid. These work just like your regular hydrocolloid pimple patches, but are way cuter. And the shape and color also keeps me from touching my face! #CheriePartner #CherieCreator
