So you over exfoliated your skin.. what’s next?
So you over exfoliated your skin... it’s okay. It happens. I’ve been super guilty in the past of loading everything on my face or thinking “the more I use something the more effective it will be”. When over exfoliation happens your skin starts to go into distress. Your moisture barrier is compromised. Your skin might start to feel irritated, itchy, and inflamed. When this happens at any time I like to reset my routine with gentler products. This guide is meant for sensitized skin but the products are also perfect for those with sensitive or dry skin. 1.) Stop using exfoliating/stripping products I know you want to keep using your routine to see results but now is the time to take a break. Stop exfoliation, retinol, acne treatments, and foaming cleansers. These products are going to be too intense for sensitized skin right now. 2.) Opt for mild and emollient products This is when I switch my routine to products that are more geared towards sensitive skin. Two power house ingredients I look for are colloidal oatmeal and cannabis sativa seed oil. My favorite being colloidal oatmeal which helps to soften and soothe the skin. My favorite product I’ve been using to soothe my mask irritation has been the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask as it nourishes and protects. Cannabis sativa oil on the other hand helps repair the skin’s moisture barrier while helping to reduce inflammation. As always you want to seal everything in with a moisturizer. For sensitive or sensitized skin I always say go for a fragrance free/dye free lightweight cream. My favorite lately has been the dr. brandt - Cool Biotic Prebiotic Redness Relief Cream as it contains colloidal oatmeal, cannabis sativa seed oil, and ceramides (ceramides are amazing for locking moisture into the skin to help prevent dryness and irritation). 3.) Add hydrating, antioxidant, or inflammation reducing treatments The only “treatments” I will add to my routine when my skin feels sensitized are either hydrating, have antioxidant properties, or reduce inflammation. I am currently using is the GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum as this will help draw and keep water in the skin. I also swear by the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner which showcases niacinamide with its anti-inflammatory properties. This toner is very gentle on the skin and sinks right in which is why I use it at the beginning of my routine. With the skin being wet from the toner is “prepped” for all the other ingredients to penetrate deeper and work more effectively. 4.) Wear sunscreen/avoid the sun I know this is usually everyone’s least favorite part of their routine but it’s the most important. With fresh cells at the forefront they need to be protected from UV damage. They are more susceptible to damage being “newer” than older cells. If you don’t protect these everything else is counterproductive.

Good Molecules Review 🙌🏻
Good Molecules Review ✨ . I am one of the lucky people here on instagram to be sent some Good Molecules goodies to try, I am so grateful about their generosity! Just so you know I am now picky or let me say being careful about what I’m going to put on my lovely face 🤣. Then I gave this brand a try and I am really amazed about their products in terms of price point, simplicity and performance ⭐️ . I am not going to be as detailed when it comes to ingredients/formulations of each products. I want this review to be focusing more on my experience! Please don’t be lazy checking their products at beautylish or use google baby! 👨🏽💻🤭 . Overnight Exfoliating Treatment - I used this every Wednesday, my skin is used to acids so that means this one is a little bit mild for me. PM routine and the next morning my nose area is much more clearer, that part of my face is prone to black heads. love this because I can just leave it on and follow up with the rest of my routine. Honestly speaking the only one ingredient that bother me is Alcohol Denat, I hope they can remove it in the future 🤐🙏🏼 . Hyaluronic Acid Serum - My skin sits on the dry skin type, always matte looking. So my skin is always thirsty! I tried using this everyday as an added shot of moisture. Surprisingly the name live up to it’s function, my skin’s hydration is a bit leveled up. This is unscented and it did not cause me purging or break out. Highly recommended!! ✨❤️ . Niacinamide Serum - 10% Niacinamide that will help you minimize the apperance of pores? YES! The area around my nose, cheek area is almost looking poreless! You cannot get rid of pores but atleast this product help me made them look smaller. Brightening? Nope, I did not notice it from this. I love this, poreless looking skin is my main goal! Highly recommended, will choose this over the Ordinary 🤷🏼♀️ . Niacinamide Brightening Toner - this product has the most reviews online among their other products, it did took away the dullness, specially when there is time that I don’t have enough sleep because of my job, It’s alcohol free, No scent. My skin felt revitalize, healthy looking glow. I love it! ✨❤️

Let’s Debunk Some Skincare Myths
To say there’s a plethora of beauty information out there would be an understatement. It can be difficult to determine what are good tips and what are myths, especially if there’s conflicting information. Let’s debunk 3 common ones that I still hear/see around the web/beauty community. If your makeup contains SPF you don’t need SPF underneath. Why is this myth incorrect? You would need to apply a lot of foundation, tinted moisturizer, or BB/CC cream to get the proper amount of SPF needed to protect your skin. For example, I have the ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 with SPF 40. I only apply about the size of a dime for my whole face, and this product only provides sheer-light coverage. I would need multiple layers of this to protect my skin from UVA/UVB. You should apply SPF underneath your makeup (at least the size of a quarter!) to ensure adequate protection. I love the Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 because it’s good for all skin types, doubles as a makeup primer, reef-safe, and is cruelty-free. Face wipes clean your face as well as cleanser. Nope! Face wipes may seemingly remove all your makeup and SPF residue, but they don’t have the ability to properly cleanse your face. I don’t usually use face wipes, but I received these RAWGANIC - Pure Refreshing Facial Wipes for Christmas from a family member. I use them to remove makeup before heading to the gym or at the end of the day. If using at the end of the day, always follow up with cleanser to remove excess residue!!! Face wipes would be a good option in the AM if you have extra dry skin and want to feel clean without having to wash. Don’t mix vitamin C and niacinamide. Why is this a myth? It was believed that combining anything with vitamin C, especially niacinamide, would negate the effects of vitamin C. Vitamin C is awesome for brightening and fading dark spots, and niacinamide is great for enlarged pores, dull skin, and acne scarring. Combining these two powerhouse ingredients, such as in the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner , is a match made! That toner makes such a difference in my skin’s appearance (pores, dullness, scarring). Don’t want to combine but still reap the benefits? Use vitamin C in the AM (such as THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Brightening Cream ) and niacinamide in the PM (such as PURITO - Centella Unscented Serum which contains niacinamide). You can have your cake and eat it, too! I personally will use these serums (or other ones in my collection) one right after another, but everyone’s skin is different. About me: DRYYYYYY acne-prone skin

5 Toners for Every Dry Skin Personality
1. Dry and acne-prone looking for firmer skin. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Not a toner for the weak and sensitive, TO’s Glycolic Acid Toner is a great option if you want to seriously minimize pores, reduce acne and brighten skin. My skin personally feels sensitized when I use it in the AM so be sure to layer extra SPF if you are a daytime wearer. I prefer this in a PM routine when I want to take a break from other actives/acids. 2. Dry and looking for soft, dewy skin. I'm from - Rice Toner I love this toner when I want soft, supple skin. It leaves an appropriate layer of hydrating shine on my face when I want that quick “glass” skin look. Keeps my skin feeling dewy for a few hours so I will reapply in the afternoon when I feel dried out again. Because the ingredients are mostly humectants, I love layering it under serums that contain a lot of actives like Vit C and retinol! 3. Dry and struggling with dullness. GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner This is a true ingredient-minded toner and my absolute favorite way of sneaking niacinamide into my skincare routine. This toner really acts as a 3 in 1 package with niacinamide, vit C and arbutin. I use this in the AM and PM, under both acidic and milder serums. May be too sensitizing for some. It’s an appropriate amount of hydrating, which I appreciate! 4. Dry and wanting a toner that acts as a lotion. ROVECTIN - Rovectin Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion This toner claims to have 7 different types of hylauronic acid, kind of like Hado Labo’s toner lotion. I like that it’s scent-free but it definitely lacks a wow factor. I would only recommend if you’re looking for a two step routine with “toner” and an additional moisturizer only. 5. Dry and looking for a toner to layer under makeup/serums. dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Facial Toner This was my go-to toner for years. Faintly lavender-scented, this toner is hydrating and not intense at all. It’s great for layering under actives and makeup.

Why You Need Niacinamide In Your Life Right Now
Ingredient Breakdown - Niacinamide Edition 🖤 Niacinamide is my absolute favorite skincare ingredient absolutely everyone can benefit from. Benefits: Regulates Oil Production Reduces Redness/Inflammation Treats Hyperpigmentation Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles Protects Skin From Environmental Aggressors Personally, my skin type is dehydrated yet oily skin with post acne hyperpigmentation and redness/inflammation. This has done wonders for evening out my skin tone and reducing a lot of the redness in my skin. I recently stopped using it for 8 day’s now to try something else out and it made me realize how much it kept my redness at bay. It also has really regulated my oil production which in turn has made my pores appear smaller (because excess oil isn’t constantly being clogged). I use the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner daily, followed up by the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum , and then I use the CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream (which contains niacinamide to help with dark circles) and I have really seen it’s brightening affect and oil control properties. I’ve been using it for at least half a year now if not longer but you should start to see some results in 6-12 weeks. It’s something you really need to be using daily. For its protection and anti wrinkle properties literally everyone can use this product but if you have enlarged pores, acne, hyperpigmentation and/or oily skin this will absolutely be your best friend. If anyone watches Skincare by Hyram on YouTube he talks about this a lot. It’ll regulate your oil production therefor excess oil will not be produced and clog the pores (which paired with weekly exfoliation will help reduce acne). While it’s doing that it’s brightening properties will help even out the skin tone and address any post acne hyperpigmentation and inflammation.
CeraVe-Eye Repair Cream
Acneeee check!!! I have to say shooting this in diffused natural lighting really brings my redness out 😟 to be honest I don’t remember a time when my skin was this badly broken out. I’m gonna go with the combination of holidays/global pandemic/year end/national security stress plus starting with a gentle retinoid serum (FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Skin Lab Retinol Serum) about a month ago as contributing factors to this breakout 👏👏👏 My last post I mentioned stocking up on some acne clearing products. I went with Tula’s foaming acne cleanser, which claims “2% salicylic acid helps clear & prevent breakouts, while azelaic acid helps fade past acne marks. Ideal for treating regular or occasional breakouts, all with zero irritation.” I also received their cult classic cleanser as a free sample (THX ULTA😘), which I’ve been using to cleanse in the morning to give my skin a chance to chill. I’ll be leaving the rest of my morning skincare routine unchanged - it’s pretty gentle and protective given the stressors I face each day. Current lineup that has been steady for almost a year now, as follows: GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner my absolute fave hydrating toner with amazing ingredients and an incredible price point ($14!!) Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum My most re-purchased product ever, I’ve tried others and nothing compares ($34). Contains VitC + Konjac root, Ferulic & hyaluronic acids. I mix with Mad Hippie - Antioxidant Facial Oil when I’m feeling dry or sensitized. This combo is a powerhouse of antioxidants to keep me bright while staying protected from the abundant sunshine & pollution in my desert home. For moisturizer depending on what my day looks like I reach for my TULA SKINCARE - 24-7 Moisture Hydrating Day & Night Cream . When I’m feeling spicy sometimes I’ll go in with TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream and lately I’ve been reaching for my sample of the TATCHA - The Water Cream which is a happy medium. In the evenings, I double cleanse starting with TATCHA - Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanserthen follow with the TULA SKINCARE - Keep It Clear Acne Foam Cleanser. I also applied for the very first time two days ago LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Adapalene Gel .01% Topical Retinoid Acne Treatment ramping up my retinoid % from 0.25% to 0.1% I followed the repeated advice of applying a hydrating toner or serum before applying the gel. I noticed a significant increase in my skin sensitivity the next day, almost like I had a slight sunburn 🥵. I know to expect a purge when using retinol for the first time and I’m committed to incorporate it into my daily routine by starting slow, 2-3x week. I will post weekly skin check-ins to document my journey so give me a follow if you want to watch my skin transform! 🤩
