Hello again! ✨ I am sure you all have heard of St.Ives and how hyped it is by many people. Sure, things may work for you. But here’s the trouble with this brand’s product: it’s bad for your skin. A skincare YouTuber Hyram has warmed us about many products that are just really bad for your skin. Neutrogena and St.Ives fall under that. There are plenty of products out there that use alcohol, propylene glycol, mineral oils and fragrances, which irritate the skin and can dry it out badly. Yikes. Even seemingly okay products labeled “For Sensitive Dry Skin” even can contain alcohols which severely dry out and irritate. This product is supposed to be a physical exfoliant that contains salicylic acid for acne and tea tree oil, good right? Think again. ST. Ives - BLACKHEAD CLEARING GREEN TEA SCRUB Considering that it still does a good job of making the skin smooth and can be used on your body without the same nasty effects, I give this 3 stars. Tea tree oil and salicylic acid are usually pretty amazing at combatting acne, blackheads and excess oil on the face. I used this scrub only 2 time’s a week and it did do the job of a typical scrub. It sloughs off your dead skin cells and leaves it soft after. However, let’s look at the ingredients: Active Ingredients: Salicylic Acid (1.0%) Inactive Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Juglans Regia (Walnut) Shell Powder, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Cetyl Alcohol, Triethanolamine, Cetyl Acetate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Benzyl Alcohol, Fragrance (Parfum). . . . . It uses fragrance, alcohols and wait, walnut shell powder? Hold up. St.Ives literally got into a legal dispute years ago due to their claims of being noncomedogenic and using walnut shell powder in their scrubs. People say that the walnut husks can actually cause tears in your facial skin (as facial skin is even more delicate than skin on your body) and make it prone to infection and nasty irritation. Plenty of other people have reported getting breakouts, irritation and burning sensations after using this! It’s enough that most products use fragrance, dyes and alcohols. It’s worse when they add additional ingredients like this that can wreck your skin. Results: I already have sensitive, dry skin and this product just made it worse. I got a burning sensation after using this product and it made my skin drier. How I know is because it claims to be oil-free, but my skin got so oily using this. Why? I had no clue as it claims to not contain oils. Just nasty. Verdict: Don’t use this if you have sensitive skin. Do not use this on your facial skin either in the first place if you want to save it from disaster. If you want to use it at all since it’s cheap, only use it as a body scrub! This is just my experience, maybe it works for you! That’s okay! 🌸✨

St Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub
The St Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub is such an OG product for me - I was obsessed with St Ives products at the very beginning of my skincare journey (perhaps 2-3 years ago?) and their cleansers/scrubs were like my go-to skincare product when I thought my skin needed a little “boost”. Of course, although I now know that their facial scrubs aren’t exactly the best thing to use on your face 🥴, but I kept the green tea scrub because it wasn’t as harsh as their apricot counterpart. This facial scrub is a rather straightforward product - its focus is to unclog your pores, clear those blackheads, and calm any redness at the same time. If you have congested skin, this product aims to clear that right up 😜 This cleansing scrub has a very grainy texture - its full of these little exfoliating particles - and it is very dense. You will need to wet your face before using this though because if you apply this to dry skin it is going to irritate your skin further. How I used this was to generously scrub this all over my damp skin and then wash it off with water (just reading about this now makes me cringe at how badly I treat my skin eckkk). The end result is that squeaky clean feeling that can be a little harsh for sensitive skin types. One great thing about this scrub is that doesn’t have any adverse effects on my skin, and it doesn’t break me out or give me lasting redness after use. I would think it’s a pretty gentle scrub, but you definitely cannot use this every day. An ideal number of times you can use this would be 2-3x a week at the most. Nevertheless though, I don’t think I would repurchase this - I see much better results from chemical exfoliators without the risk of accidentally irritating my skin. While I loved this product 2-3 years ago, it has definitely been replaced by gentler chemical exfoliators that see better results on my face. It probably won’t be my first pick for an exfoliator recommendation either. I know some people still prefer physical exfoliation, and this is a affordable and good product at that, but with all the other amazing exfoliators in the market, this unfortunately falls short for me. My Cherie rating for this would be 3/5! ST. Ives - BLACKHEAD CLEARING GREEN TEA SCRUB

ST. Ives - BLACKHEAD CLEARING GREEN TEA SCRUB Hey Guys , An important step in your routine you shouldn’t forget is ‘exfoliating’ ! ⁣ ⁣ As it removes dead skin cell for your products to able to penetrate on the new skin cells ! For that glowy skin ✨ ⁣ ⁣ I exfoliate 3 times a week. For 10-15mins working it onto the skin, not dragging my skin down but upwards and in circular motions ! Age is just a number, but our skin doesn’t lie ! #youthfulskinforever Remember after exfoliating, moisturize ! I struggled with acne prone skin since high school days , I’m in college and my face is doing better than ever ! I love this scrub ,after using it my skin looks brighter and no longer dull...I also advice you use this scrub in the morning when you wake up, so that you don’t look like a zombie during the day 😂 if you haven’t heard skin cell turnover peaks around 2a.m. If you’d like advice in what to use , direct message me I’ll help out and I also have an Instagram account : @r.self.care 💕

MY SKINCARE JOURNEY SO FAR
MY SKINCARE JOURNEY SO FAR
this is my first post lol but anyways I’ve tried sooo many products (just like everyone else who struggles with acne). i don’t have a definite answer as to the magic cure (since everyone’s skin is different and what works for me might not work for you). anywaysss MY SKIN TYPE: personally, i have combination skin. my t-zone can get pretty oily but the rest of my face (mostly my cheeks) is normal. the majority of my acne is on my forehead, nose, and chin. on my forehead i get normal pimples and a few blackheads and also i have a lot of acne scars there (i also get a lot of pimples in my hairline). on my nose is pretty much all blackheads. on my chin is mostly blackheads with a few whiteheads here and there. recently, ive also been getting these small bumps (pimples) on my lower cheeks. PRODUCTS I DONT LIKE: some products that i don’t like are: ST. Ives - BLACKHEAD CLEARING GREEN TEA SCRUB . personally, it just didn’t work like it said it would. all of my acne remained no matter how long i used this face wash. CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator i used to love this moisturizer so i don’t know if they changed the formula or what. but i feel like it’s too wet and leaves my face feeling oily and just...wet. i can’t think right now of other products i don’t like. PRODUCTS I LIKE: so i got the free trial of curology a few months ago just because i kept seeing all the ads for it being so W O N D E R F U L. honestly my face started clearing up after a few weeks. it’s not TOTALLY clear yet but it’s getting there. so for now i’d definitely recommend the Curology - Curology formula especially since it’s customizable. i personally liked the Curology - The Cleanser and the Curology - The Moisturizer BUT i didn’t wanna pay so much for skincare products every month so instead, i found that curology actually recommends face washes and moisturizers on its website. i’ve been using Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser which it’s not my FAV but it does it’s job pretty well. curology basically recommends any gentle cleanser so there’s my recommendation. as for moisturizer, i’ve been using Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream and it works great! it’s not too oily and it works! i actually just ran out of it (and im planning on trying FORMULA 10.0.6 - Thirst No More Moisturizernext so yeah) That’s all for now :))

If your still using St. Ives read this! ☹︎ The little walnuts and other shells in the scrub can cause micro-tears in the skin. St. Ives Scrubs are very harsh. ☹︎ Dermatologist don’t like these scrubs and don’t recommend St. Ives to costumers. Youtuber and Dermatologist Hyarm cringes when people use St. Ives. ☹︎ These scrubs can cause more inflammation, discoloration, scarring, inflamed acneic skin in the long run. ☹︎ In the Apricot scrub the chunks of walnut are harder then average (water-polluting) plastic micro beads. That is very intense to your skin and very harsh. ☹︎ These are some reviews about the scrub. ☹︎ Jennifer Bacon : “I have been using st.ives apricot scrubs for years! I’ve recently noticed and unusual amount of wrinkles for my age (45). I was curious to see if apricot scrub caused aging in skin so I googled it and saw that it can cause aging and a lot of bad side affects for my skin. Sigh. ☹︎ Jenny Elizabeth. “My mom bought this and as a teenager, I am pretty prone to facial blemishes. As I started using this scrub, i noticed that it started inviting new bumbs on my skin. I thought it was normal so I kept on using it until I started getting pimples in areas I usually don’t get them on. I ended up throwing away the bottle.” ☹︎ My experience: I bought the blackhead scrub because i suffer with huge pores and black heads. My skin is oily, sensitive, and acne prone. I only put it around my nose (where I have the most blackheads) and after I put the scrub on my nose was begging for moisture and was burning. I thought it was just because i have sensitive skin but i looked into it and most people were experiencing the same things i am. I threw the bottle away and never bought St. Ives again. ☹︎ Please comment your experience with St. Ives. I will be responding to all comments. Also there a lot more brands that i will review! Stay tuned!!ST. Ives - BLACKHEAD CLEARING GREEN TEA SCRUB ST. Ives - Acne Control Apricot Scrub ST. Ives - Acne Control Face Scrub With Salicylic Acid

St Ives Green Tea Scrub Review
St Ives Green Tea Scrub Review
Hello my lovely Ladies and Gentlemen! I bought this product several months ago thinking it would be a more gentle exfoliant. Plus the packaging looks like it cleans and makes you feel all fresh and brand new! ( which I DESPERATELY need) And it has salicylic acid to help get rid of blackheads and other forms of acne. Thank god I finally got over that cystic acne stage, I wanted to make sure stayed that way. Who wouldn’t am I right? It is marketed as oil- free. Which for my combination normal to so-oily-you’d-think-I-bathe-in-it, I thought this could be THE solution to my poor sensitive and to oily skin. I WAS WRONG!! This cleansing exfoliant is a nice green color, and soft enough of a grit that it isn’t painful to scrub pretty hard with your hands. (Think soft wet sand...) And the smell is not overwhelming, but it doesn’t smell anything like green tea. Which is just soooooo disappointing!! I love my teas. HOWEVER after 1 week of use my oil production was through the roof!! Like fountain production. Gross, I know. The acne medication in this product stripped all of my oil and left my nose and t-zone scoured of all the good stuff skin naturally produces. Which was... uncomfortable, to say the least. My number of blackheads didn’t change and even though my face felt clean, it was just the surface. I just continued to be super oily, which caused more white heads and smaller acne, and I at no point felt like I got a deep clean. Which lead me in the cycle to wash my face with it more. And I made all the things worse! It didn’t even help when paired with a moisturizer. So there was just no winning!! I do NOT recommend this product. It takes to much from your natural skin. And I know my skin will never be completely blemish free or perfectly smooth or all the things those massive cosmetic companies promise with skin care and makeup. But this product is NOT HEALTHY HONEY!! So do yourself a favor and leave it on the shelf. Thank you for reading! Have a good day gorgeous!! ST. Ives - BLACKHEAD CLEARING GREEN TEA SCRUB
