TIPS FOR GETTING LONG LASHES (that stay curled!)
I don’t have naturally long lashes. Or even full looking lashes. But I feel like I’ve found the perfect combo for naturally long and full looking lashes with the combination. Here is what I do! 1) CURL YOUR LASHES. (AND IN 3 PLACES) shu uemura - Eyelash curler What I mean by curling in 3 places is curling it once at the base of the lashes, once in the middle of the lash-length and once near the tips. This gives a very pretty, soft curl that actually looks like a curled lash compared to a crimped “L-shape” lash that you would get with curling in just one place. I’ve used this same eyelash curler for almost 10 years and it still gives me the BEST curl and actually lasts on my naturally very-straight lashes. (Obviously I have changed the rubber pads every 2-3 years too!) This just helps to fan out the lashes and point them upwards to show the full length. 2) DEFINE THE LASHLINE. DollyWink - DollyWink Liquid Eyeliner I don’t necessarily draw on liquid liner every time but I’ll usually dot a few dots along the lash line to add some definition that looks soft from afar. This liquid liner is my holy grail liquid eyeliner because it’s super long-lasting and waterproof! 3) USE A LENGTHENING, DEFINING MASCARA. (waterproof helps too!) MAYBELLINE - Lash Sensational Curvitude Washable Mascara I love a waterproof mascara because it never smudges or flakes, and it seriously holds a curl! This Maybelline mascara has a really nice curved plastic brush that pushes up the lashes to promote a curl. Probably the most curl-defining mascara I’ve tried in a looong time.

shu uemura blanc:chroma cleansing oil and eyelash curler 👑 blanc:chroma Cleansing Oil - This oil claims to 1) clean your face, which is standard, and 2) brighten the overall skin tone and lighten dark spots, which is wild. On the cleansing front, I think this works really well; It truly feels like the most emollient, effective, yet gentle cleansing oil I’ve ever tried. 💰 However, it is also 400% more expensive than my usual Kose Speedy Cleansing Oil. At $45, I would need it to live up to the second part of the claim - to brighten my sun spots - but I haven’t used it enough to evaluate that yet. The intriguing ingredients that would achieve that are volcanic clay (mild exfoliant) and Lipo HA, a modified salicylic acid that accelerates skin regeneration. I’ll definitely check back in! 💄 Eyelash Curler - This curler is iconic, an Allure best of beauty winner, and FINALLY FITS MY ALMOND SHAPED EYES. What a godsend! No more pinched lids, and it actually curls my stick-straight eyelashes from the base. At $20 at sephora, this is a great product at a fair price. ✨TLDR: Really enjoyed both of these products, but need more time with the blanc:chroma to see if it evens my complexion.

My 5-min morning mommy makeup: glowy pick-me-up
If you’ve got kids, and are currently in the stage of caring for an infant, you know the exhaustion, and how it’s hard to take time for yourself. Most of my self-care happens in the evening after my 9mos old goes to bed. In the mornings, she’s up by 6, babbling, and ready to army crawl circles around me like Speed-Racer. So, I do a lot of my prep at night. I shower at night, and then on my hair wash days, do all my prep & styling at night as well. When I wake up, I wash my face, put on deodorant, get dressed, refresh my curls, and then try do do a little something with my face, outside of my skincare routine. But being that I don’t have much time (since my daughter is staring me down in her bouncer and babbling), I’ve gotta be quick! So here’s my routine: After doing my AM skincare routine (which I’ll make a separate post about), I apply my usual sunscreen- dear, klairs - Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA ++++ Then I curl my lashes with Sally’s eyelash curler. I got the one designed for monolidded/hooded eye lids. It’s kind of a dupe for shu uemura - Eyelash curler . I have smaller, hooded eyes, and regular eyelash curlers never fit my eyes well, they were really big and it was hard to get a good curl. That being said I grabbed this one at Sally’s on a whim and I’m so much happier with it, I tossed my old regular one out ASAP. Today I didn’t apply mascara, I’m too tired, but I find just by curling my lashes it draws some attention to my eyes and makes them appear more open and awake. 💕 I filled in my brows with ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Brow Definer in Auburn. I applied ILIA - True Skin Serum Concealer in arrowroot to my under eye area. Then I used 3CE - Take A Layer Multi Pot For Lips, Cheeks & Eyes in the shade Cabbage Rose to the apples of my cheeks and blended it out up around my cheek/brow bone. I also applied a bit of it to the tip of my nose to add a flush of healthy color. I followed up with #VDL - Lumilayer All-Over Stick[products]#[FiveStars] by applying it to the tip of my nose, and from my cheek bones to brow bone and then patting it in with my fingers. Basically, it just adds a diffused & healthy glow to my face. 💕 I finished up with putting on my HG lip balm DHC - DHC Lip Cream for some hydration and shine. ...and that’s it! I’m very low-maintenance when it comes to daily makeup, and rarely wear face makeup. I understand for some is an absolute must (which I respect, because I just don’t have the patience for it!) This is just what works for me, and what I feel most comfortable with. My end goal with this look is to give myself a little pick-me-up on a gloomy day, add a little healthy glow, and look less tired. 😛 What do your mommy routines look like? Let me know!

Makeup Tools I Can’t Live Without✨#CheriePartner
REAL TECHNIQUES - REAL TECHNIQUES Blush Brush My go-to brush for powder! I know it’s a blush brush but I love that it’s not too dense and is able to pick up the perfect amount of powder (AKA enough to dim any shine but not enough to completely mattify my skin). It’s also super inexpensive and can be found at most drugstores! it Cosmetics - Airbrush Dual-Ended Flawless Complexion Brush #132 My go-to brush for blush! The large side is fluffy, round and not too dense- so it applies a sheer amount of color to my cheeks and has the perfect shape for blending and buffing into the skin! It gives a super soft airbrushed effect to my blush. (I don’t really use the smaller side) NUDESTIX - NUDESTIX Blend & Buff Brush My favorite brush for bronzer/contour! The bigger side is dense and picks up a decent amount of product. The shape also allows it to “blend and buff” (LOL) bronzer into my skin without sheering it out too much into nothing. The smaller side is also perfect for contouring the nose (if that’s your thing) or for blending cream eyeshadow (what I use it for)! it Cosmetics - Airbrush Blending Crease Brush #105 The BEST brush for concealer! I know using a brush to blend in concealer is a bit controversial as I know MANY people prefer a sponge. But this brush literally airbrushes the concealer under my eyes and makes it look like I don’t have under-eye circles at all! shu uemura - Eyelash curler I don’t always curl my lashes but when I want a dramatic, long-lasting curl for every single lash, this is the one I go for! It grabs onto all my lashes and gives it a true curl. My tip is to curl three sections of the lash (once at the root, once in the middle and once at the ends) to create a real full curl like a “C” and not like an “L”.

EASY Kitten Eye 🐱 (Baby Wing) #CheriePartner
I love a winged liner look but sometimes I only want something subtle. A “Kitten Eye” or “Baby Wing” is always my go-to eye look for all kinds of occasions! Especially with everyone wearing masks nowadays, the first thing everyone sees are your eyes and this look is cute, flirty and definitely elongates your eyes! The main difference (to me) between a kitten eye and a cat eye is that a kitten wing is much smaller and and shorter compared to a cat eye winged liner. This kitten wing is only at the outer 1/3 of the eye whereas a cat eye wing would start from the inner corner of the eye and extend even further out! What you need: A liquid eyeliner (or sharpened eye pencil) DollyWink - DollyWink Liquid Eyeliner This Dollywink Liquid Eyeliner is my go-to eyeliner and has been a favorite for almost 8 years!!! I discovered it during my freshman year of high school and has always remained the best of the ones I have tried. It’s extremely long wearing, very waterproof, and high in pigment. I also prefer the brush tip over a felt tip! An eyelash curler shu uemura - Eyelash curler I’ve had this eyelash curler since middle school and have only changed out the pads twice since! It reallys hugs my eye shape and curls every. single. lash! It’s truly the best eyelash curler ever. A mascara MAYBELLINE - The Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara I have been LOVING this drugstore mascara! The plastic brush really helps to push up, curl and separate my lashes. It gives a really defined but fluttery effect on my lashes and is probably one of my favorite mascaras ever! How to draw the baby wing: (view 2nd pic!) 1) Using the liquid eyeliner, trace the outer 1/3 of your upper lash line. 2) Draw a thin line out following the direction of your bottom lash line. But not too long. 3) Starting from the outer point of the line your just drew, draw a third line bringing the wing back in. 4) Fill in the triangle! Tada! 5) Curl your lashes and apply mascara! Let me know if you try this out and whether you like it!
