What Else You Need to KnowCreated with all skin in mind, Babyfacial’s 25 percent AHA/ two percent BHA blend gently exfoliates pore linings and visibly resurfaces by removing dead skin cells. With an ideal pH level of 3.5, glycolic, tartaric, lactic, citric, and salicylic acids work together to ensure higher efficacy without the look of redness and sensitization. Drunk Elephant is committed to using only ingredients that either directly benefit the health of the skin or support the integrity of their formulations. The brand focuses on healthy pH levels, formulations the skin recognizes, a small molecular structure that’s easily absorbed, and effective active ingredients that also support the skin’s acid mantle. All of their products are designed to be mixed together—what Drunk Elephant calls making a smoothie. Exfoliation basics
Exfoliation basics
Exfoliation is an essential step in your beauty routine to maintain that healthy glow, improve skin texture and tone, and prevent breakouts. Basically what it does is remove dead cells so they can be replaced by new ones. This process allows products to penetrate better and instantly restores luminosity by forcing cell renewal. A physical exfoliation is a product or tool that requires rubbing or scrubbing action. This includes brushes, sponges and skincare scrubs (it has small particles like salt grains, sugar, jojoba beads ...). This type of exfoliation removes dead skin cells from the top layer using physical friction. This type of exfoliation is preferred by many because you see an immediate result: smooth, radiant and healthy skin. Physical exfoliation causes less irritation than chemical exfoliation. It’s an excellent choice for oily skin and large pores as they tend to have thicker skin and are more tolerant of abrasive particles. My favorites: FOREO - LUNA play plus although many people are against these types of brushes, the truth is that I did see a major change when I started using it. I felt the skin softer and cleaner. Skin to You - Rated X-foliate Facial Scrub is one of my faves, doesn’t irritate and leaves skin clean and fresh. Chemical exfoliation work to break the bonds between skin cells, loosening dead skin cells so it can be easy removed. They generally have a smooth texture and penetrate deeper into the skin. The most common are Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs) and fruit enzymes. AHAs Derived from substances such as grapes, citrus, milk and sugar cane, they dissolve keratin protein bonds that hold dead skin cells together. Once the bond is broken, the dead cells break off. The best known are glycolic and lactic acid. They are water soluble chemicals with low molecular structure, they act on the surface of the skin and help hydrate it, making them good for dry skin. Excellent for sun damage, hyperpigmentation, skin texture and wrinkles. It’s important to note that are photosensitive to the sun, so it is important to use a good sunscreen. BHAs They are lipid soluble, which makes them capable of penetrating deep into the pores, dissolving the accumulated dirt/oil. They are ideal for oily skin, acne prone and sun damaged skin. Salicylic acid has anti-irritant and antimicrobial properties that help prevent new breakouts. Enzymatic exfoliants are another type of chemical exfoliant and work best on sensitive skin. They are derived from fruits such as papaya (Papain) and pineapple 🍍 (Bromelain), which dissolve and digest keratin into small particles, leaving the skin smoother. They are a good option to start exfoliating since they work on the skin's surface and slowly digest cellular accumulation. My favorites: HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub gentle scrub that combines the 3 types of chemical exfoliators. It doesn’t irritate or damage the skin, it leaves the skin clean and radiant. CLINIQUE - Pep Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser in its indications it says that it can be used daily, its very soft and leaves the skin clean. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This one is a little more abrasive, but you get good results from the first application. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask its more gentle than the previous one and it also gives good results from the first application. I have combination skin, acne prone and generally I use physical exfoliators 2-3 times a week and chemical every 15 days or when I feel I need something stronger. The main reasons for using exfoliation is to prevent acne and improve skin tone and texture. Tip The minimum you should exfoliate is once a week (dry skin) and maximum 3 times a week (oily skin). The exfoliation should always be gentle and never abrasive. If you have severe acne, see your dermatologist first. Don’t do it if you have wounds or cuts. If you are taking medications or using prescription products (retinol), exfoliation may cause dryness, sensitivity and acne breakouts.

I got Drunk Elephant T.L.C Suk
I got Drunk Elephant T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial. I already used it for a month, two times a week when I don't use any other exfoliants. It has 25% AHA and 2% BHA blend including Glycolic plus Tartaric, Lactic, Citric and Salicylic Acids. It has the ideal pH level of 3.5 to 3.6 to ensure higher efficacy while helping to avoid redness and irritation. In terms of the burning sensation, I'm happy to report that it doesn't as hurt as the P50W. Just intense tingling as soon as I messaged it into my face but the sensation didn't last. It applies as a thin paste and doesn't full dry. I set my timer for 20 minutes until it's time to wash this off with warm water. When I woke up in the morning, my skin looked normal without any redness or irritation. The next days, I've noticed that stubborn whiteheads around my forehead and jawline area "purge". I always have little bumps around those area, but they finally popped out after I use this product. I also noticed there was a lot of dead skin around the areas that needed to be sloughed off. With the continued use, I've actually seen a visible difference in my skin texture. My skin has been a lot less bumpy! Some part of my cheeks are still "purging" right now, but I know they aren't new breakouts since they were just clogged pores. Overall, even though this mask is high-concentrated acids, I think the formula is quite gentle. Thanks to its antioxidants that soothe the skin like matcha tea and niacinamide for an extra protective barrier. I can say it's very effective for clogged pores. It's worth mentioning that Drunk Elephant always choose their ingredients based on its safety and bio-compatibility. You won't find silicones, chemical screens, sensitizing colorants or perfume in their products. I could see myself using this regularly and I probably will post a before-after photo when my skin is completely clear.

Is this really a dupe?
Is this really a dupe?
DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask Product claims: A pro-quality AHA/BHA facial that resurfaces skin to reveal greater clarity, improved skin texture and tone, and a more youthful appearance. Ingredients: 25% AHA blend (glycolic, tartaric, lactic) + 2% BHA (saliclyc acid). Skin type: normal, dry, combination and oily. Scent: no fragance. Formulation: lightweight mask. Directions: 20 minutes. Price: $80 Thoughts: light tingling sensation, very tolerable. My skin feels soft the next day. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Product claims: An exfoliating solution to help fight visible blemishes and improve the look of skin texture and radiance. Ingredients: 30% AHA blend (glycolic, tartaric, lactic) + 2% BHA (salicylic acid). Skin type: normal, combination and oily. Scent: no scent. Formulation: liquid. Directions: 10 minutes. Price: $7.20 Thoughts: the first time I used it the tingling sensation was intense so I put myself in front of a fan 🥵. My skin looked smooth and luminous for the next two days. This combination of ingredients offers a deep exfoliation that helps clear blemishes, improve luminosity and get rid of dead skin cells to reveal healthy and luminous skin. I generally use this type of exfoliants every 2 weeks, I love the results I get with them, with continued use it helps to control acne breakouts, fine lines, wrinkles and improve the look of skin texture. Concentration levels vary a little, The Ordinary has a higher concentration (higher concentration, more susceptibility to irritation), both have anti-inflammatory ingredients but Drunk Elephant (DE) has a powerful mix of them that doesn’t compare with The Ordinary. DE is much better for dry skin due to its anti-inflammatory ingredients. Both have the same long-term results, so it will depend on how much you want to spend 🤑.

AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
The Ordinary-AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
The Ordinary VS Drunk Elephant
The Ordinary VS Drunk Elephant
🩸So in this post I’m going to compare The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution with Drunk Elephant’s TLC Sukari Babyfacial. I’m a little bit addicted to chemical exfoliant and I love a nice intense weekly peel so here goes. 🩸Drunk Elephant Babyfacial 🩸Price: $80 🩸Active Ingredients: 25% AHA blend (glycolic, tartaric, lactic and citric), 2% BHA (salicylic), chickpea flour (brightening and balancing), and pumpkin ferment extract (enzymatic exfoliator) 🩸Call Outs: Free of: Parabens, Sulfates, Pthalates, Alcohol, Silicone, Fragrance, Essential Oils, Mineral Oil, and Formaldehydes Clean at Sephora Vegan Cruelty Free 🩸Experience: The texture of this is a lightweight creamy consistency. The directions say to apply a thin layer on clean, dry skin and leave on for 20 minutes then rinse thoroughly. I don’t feel very much of a tingling sensation with this product but my skin is pretty used to acids. I like to follow this with a richer oil and moisturizer. I don’t honestly notice a huge difference in my skin after using this unfortunately especially for the price tag. I have really good luck with a lot of Drunk Elephant products but this one just did not do it for me. 🩸The Ordinary 30% AHA + 2% BHA Peeling Solution 🩸Price: $7.20 🩸Active Ingredients: 30% AHA blend (glycolic, lactic, tartaric, and citric ), 2% BHA (salicylic) hyaluronic acid cross polymer (hydrating and plumping), vitamin B5 (healing), black carrot (antioxidant rich) and Tasmanian Pepperberry Extract (soothing) 🩸Call Outs: Free Of: Alcohol, Oil, Silicone, Nuts, Gluten, Parabens, Pthalates, Formaldehydes, andMineral Oil Vegan Cruelty Free 🩸Experience: This has the texture of a slightly viscous serum. The color of it is a scary looking deep red that legitimately looks like you smeared blood all over your face. The directions say to apply a thin layer to clean dry skin and leave on 8-10 minutes but no longer than 10. This is not a suggestion. I repeat: do not leave this serum on your face for longer than 10 minutes. It tingles intensely...it feels like a million tiny pins lightly poking you and if you have any open wounds or acne you’ve picked at you will definitely feel a little bit of burning. I like to follow this with a heavy oil and moisturizer as well. I have to say this is my favorite product The Ordinary makes and also my favorite peel of all time. It leaves my skin looking so bright and smooth even my nose which never looks bright or smooth looks like literal glass after using this stuff. This stuff is amazing especially for the price. Absolutely recommend if you’re in the market for a peel.

🐘What it is? Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial™ 25% AHA + 2% BHA Mask 🐘Key Ingredient: 25% AHA+2%BHA, can effectively exfoliate dead surface skin, stimulate the regeneration of new cells to achieve a brighter and more youthful appearance. 🐘My Thought: I have oily skin and prone to acne, and often get breakouts from clogged pores caused by excessive oil production. I know AHA and BHA are good at solving this concern, so I did not hesitate to give it a chance when I knew this product. As you can see in the pic, its texture is a yellow paste which is hard to spread. When I first applied it, I felt a tingling sensation, especially on my nose area. All the acids will have such a feeling, so you really don't need to worry. Now I have been using this mask for almost 2 months, 1-2 times a week. I have to say that my skin does have some visible changes. My clogging problem has been greatly improved, and acne spots have also faded a lot. I'm not sure all the credit goes to this mask, but I really appreciate it. As for the anti-aging benefits, I haven’t had any fine lines and wrinkles yet, so I can't tell you some useful feedback. Anyway, if you are not sensation skin and want a product that can tackle with multiple skin problems, I think this mask deserves a chance.

I’d rather get coal than...Babyfacial

I'd rather get coal than... DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask I know this is a cult favorite product and a holy grail for so many people, but after months of use, I have decided that Babyfacial just isn’t for me. PRODUCT This is a chemical exfoliant that has a 25% AHA + 2% BHA concentration. Drunk Elephant claims that this product “resurfaces skin, improves skin texture and tone, and reveals a more youthful-looking appearance” and that it is suitable for all skin types. The texture is thick and paste-like, and it has no discernible scent. EXPERIENCE I am no stranger to chemical exfoliants, and I was intrigued with this product after hearing so many people rave about it, which ultimately led me to purchase this mini when it was released. But Babyfacial just did not work out for me. Every time I use it, it makes my skin break out horribly, which it never, ever does. I can’t pinpoint which ingredient is the culprit, but I have decided to empty this by using it as an exfoliating mask for my hands/feet. Even after multiple uses, I did not find that it delivered any of the results that it claimed to. At $80 for 1.69 oz., I find this mask to be absurdly overpriced – especially considering how many similar masks are available for a fraction of the price (cue The Ordinary’s “vampire mask”). I would not recommend this product to anyone and give this product a rating of 1/5 stars.
