2020 TOP 5 🥰
Hey Cherie Fam 🍒 I hope you’re all having a good day. I can’t believe 2020 is over in a few days! This year has been the wildest roller coaster. My top 5 for 2020 are: 1️⃣ PRODUCT ✨ •This is a bit hard, but I guess I have to choose one. I would say I can’t live without my Drunk Elephant C-Firma and Framboos, but I’ve been loving those products since 2019. A new product I added to my skin care routine this year is Paula’s Choice BHA exfoliator. This was recommended by a friend and swore it made his pores disappear. I bit the bullet and I’m so glad I did. It made my pores much smaller and my skin more glowy PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator 2️⃣ TREND ✨ •My favorite trend this year is niacinamide. Niacinamide reduces inflammation which may help ease redness from eczema, acne, and other inflammatory skin conditions. It also helps build keratin, a type of protein that keeps your skin firm and healthy. My sunscreen, which is Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40has niacinamide and so does my cleanser. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser I decided to purchase Paula’s Choice niacinamide booster and I have no regrets 3️⃣ MY BEST LOOK ✨ • I love colors and exploring, but I think my best look is a soft glam smokey eye. I used my Natasha Denona Glam palette here 🥰 4️⃣ FAVORITE CREATOR ON CHERIE ✨ • I have a couple. I love @emily_because we seem to be interested in the same make up style and same make up products. Too bad she doesn’t post here anymore 😢 come backkk! • I love @@Jillianb1because she is also very talented and I love her content • I also love @madisonnoonsbecause her content is versatile. She also posts about makeup and lifestyle. • I have so many more such as @bealizbeauty@Malloryand@D.Bennettthere’s a lot of great creators on this platform and I’m glad I get to see so many talented people 5️⃣ SOMETHING I LEARNED • Not beauty related, but something I learned is to cherish every moment and appreciate every little thing. I travel quite often and had so many travel plans for 2020. When the shelter in place hit, I was shattered because I cant travel and let alone go get brunch or bar hop with my friends. Even working from home is a bit disappointing because I am an extrovert and thrive off being social. However, I re-discovered my love for make up. Therefore, I was able to create looks and share it on this platform. I am able to spend time with family often and built a better bond and relationship with them. I live about an hour away from them and barely saw them so I’m thankful this gave me the opportunity to spend more time with them Francesca 💋
NATASHA DENONA-Glam Eyeshadow Palette
💙❤🖤 Color me impressed! With all the stressful events that's been happening in my life recently, my skin should've been a complete, hot mess! I almost always break out at the 1st sign of stress and/or exhaustion. But, the combination of the 2% BHA and the Antioxidant Pore Purifier, which contains salicylic acid, has been keeping my skin looking v. clear and v. happy. Additionally, the Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 is simply, amaze-balls. It's a watery, light-weight formula that is super easy to apply and leaves my skin feeling nice and matte. It does not pill, sting my eyes, nor irritate my skin. It also plays well with make up, has no scent, and protects my skin extremely well. I hope to never be without this SPF. I'm so grateful that I've had the chance to try these products (paulaschoice). And now that I'm hooked on this brand, I'm curious to try more of their stuff!!

all you need to know about EXFOLIANTS
if you want to know more about exfoliating, you have come to the right place! what are the different types of exfoliants? there are physical and chemical exfoliants and both have different purposes in a skincare routine. chemical exfoliants chemical exfoliants come in two forms, AHA and BHA. AHA’s are alpha hydroxy acids and are commonly seen with glycolic and lactic acids. AHA’s are water soluble so only work on the skins surface these are mainly for people with dry to normal skin or if you have sun damaged skin they enhance natural moisturising factors reduce visible signs of sun damage and wrinkles BHA’s are beta hydroxy acids and are commonly seen with salicylic acid. BHA’s work on the skins surface as well as deep inside the pores and are oil soluble mainly for people with oily skin who are prone to bumps, clogged skin, blemishes and enlarged pores BHA’s also have skin calming ingredients and are also hydrating you can use chemical exfoliates once a day if it suits your skin, however, most people exfoliate 2-3 times a week physical exfoliants these can come in forms of scrubs or skin brushes if you have sensitive skin, physical exfoliants may not be the best option for you they tend to have instant results with removing the dead skin and having smooth soft skin afterwards our skin is very delicate so should be treated with care! physical exfoliants make it very easy to damage the skins surface and create micro tears I personally love using chemical exfoliants on my skin as not only they work better to really penetrate the skin and I get the best results with them (BHA’s are my best friend for my oily skin). I’m not the biggest fan of scrubs as the granules that come in face scrubs are all different sizes and with this they can over exfoliate in one area, but not that much in another. they are often sharp and scrubs are the main cause of micro tears. I really love both The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution & PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator for chemical exfoliants. I use my VANITY PLANET - Raedia Facial Cleansing Brush on the rare occasion when I am not using chemical exfoliants (do not mix chemical and physical exfoliants!!!!), or when my skin feels like it needs it. I have posts both on PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator & VANITY PLANET - Raedia Facial Cleansing Brush if you are curious about my opinions on them! sorry for the long post lovelies !!! have a great day 🥰🥰

EXFOLIATING ACIDS & How Not To Overdo It!!!👀✨💖
Exfoliating acids are everywhere now and so many new products are about exfoliating the skin to “reveal brighter, smoother skin”. In the age of exfoliating now, it’s so easy to overdo and can easily result in harming the skin instead. Here are my favorite exfoliating acids (and products) and how I use it so I don’t damage my skin! Lactic Acid: A super gentle acid that exfoliates the top layer of skin and removes dead skin cells. I find this to be the most gentle of the acids and can be used everyday. I love fresh - Black Tea Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence because I use it as an essence treatment. This is a liquid formula that easily sinks into the skin and “primes” the skin for the next products. It’s also a hydrating formula! Azelaic Acid: Another more gentle exfoliating acid that helps improve the appearance of blemishes and fade post-acne marks. I love this PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster because it can be mixed into your moisturizer and boost the effectiveness. I love that this speeds up the healing process of my acne marks because then I get clearer skin quicker! Salicylic Acid: One of the most effective exfoliating acids for treating and preventing acne! It exfoliates deep into the layers of skin and removes dead skin cells. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator is a super strong and effective formula that I like to use when I’m breaking out A LOT. It’s too harsh on my skin to use daily but once a week is fine. I also love LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin which I use every night to wash my face. It’s just as effective and not too strong for daily use because it’s a wash off product and doesn’t stay on the skin. Glycolic Acid: Easily one of the strongest and deeply exfoliating acids out there. I find it super effective as a night serum like DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum or as a scrub like ALPHA-H - Micro Super Scrub with 12% Glycolic Acid . I use these products 2 times a week just to keep my skin free of congestion and to maintain the texture of my skin.

How I Shrunk and Tightened my Pores ✅
Hey Cherie Sisters 👯♀️ Happy Friday! My skin is normal to dry and I suffer from large pores, sun spots, dullness and acne scars from my teenage years. My skin care routine included a cleanser, a toner and a moisturizer. It wasn’t until recently that I stepped it up with the serums, essences and exfoliates. I have been watching Dr. Dray on YouTube. She is a dermatologist and skin care enthusiast and she mentioned the importance of Niacinamade which is a vitamin B3. My biggest concern is my large pores and this claims to promote a brighter skin and minimize your pores. While doing research on Niacinamide, I came across Hyram’s video regarding minimizing pores. He swears by the 2% BHA exfoliant by Paula’s Choice. This has over 3000+ reviews on their website and has numerous positive reviews on YouTube. After I did a careful research, I found that 10% niacinamde booster by Paula’s Choice Skincare might be the best choice. I bought the BHA exfoliant as well. Ole Henriksen’s Glow 2OH’s Toner was my go-to, but it has a strong scent to it. PC BHA is fragrance free and feels much lighter on the skin. I have only used this product for 2 weeks so I can’t do a depth review, but so far I like it. This also helps shrink my break outs faster which is a plus PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I use the 10% niacinamide during the day time and night time. I expected the consistency to be oily - similar to DE’s Marula Oil, but this feels straight up like water. It feels good and cool on my skin. I’ve only used this for 2 weeks but so far I noticed my face is a lot brighter and glowy. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster I used to get Botox for preventative wrinkles. I get injected by a plastic surgeon and he recommended I wear sunscreen on the daily. I used to not wear sunscreen b/c I didn’t think I needed it. I am on the tanner side and believed the myth that only fair skinned people needed them. I was proven wrong by my injector and he recommended I use ELTA MD’s sunscreen. I love this sunscreen because it also moisturizes. It has a creamy consistency similar to a moisturizer. I hate that sticky feeling that most sunscreens give so this is perfect. This also contains Hyaluronic Acid which is a plus! It’s also cheaper than most high end sunscreens on the market. elta md SKINCARE - UV Daily Broad-Spectrum SPF 40 I know that I can’t make my pores smaller unless I get it physically treated at the Dermatologist’s office, but Paula’s Choice products have made my skin less dull and brighter, has faded my acne scars and seem to made my pores shrink. Swipe right to a see a before and after What is your favorite skin care product that’s been recommended to you? Francesca 💋 #CheriePartner
