How I Shrunk and Tightened my Pores ✅
How I Shrunk and Tightened my Pores ✅
Hey Cherie Sisters 👯‍♀️ Happy Friday! My skin is normal to dry and I suffer from large pores, sun spots, dullness and acne scars from my teenage years. My skin care routine included a cleanser, a toner and a moisturizer. It wasn’t until recently that I stepped it up with the serums, essences and exfoliates. I have been watching Dr. Dray on YouTube. She is a dermatologist and skin care enthusiast and she mentioned the importance of Niacinamade which is a vitamin B3. My biggest concern is my large pores and this claims to promote a brighter skin and minimize your pores. While doing research on Niacinamide, I came across Hyram’s video regarding minimizing pores. He swears by the 2% BHA exfoliant by Paula’s Choice. This has over 3000+ reviews on their website and has numerous positive reviews on YouTube. After I did a careful research, I found that 10% niacinamde booster by Paula’s Choice Skincare might be the best choice. I bought the BHA exfoliant as well. Ole Henriksen’s Glow 2OH’s Toner was my go-to, but it has a strong scent to it. PC BHA is fragrance free and feels much lighter on the skin. I have only used this product for 2 weeks so I can’t do a depth review, but so far I like it. This also helps shrink my break outs faster which is a plus PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I use the 10% niacinamide during the day time and night time. I expected the consistency to be oily - similar to DE’s Marula Oil, but this feels straight up like water. It feels good and cool on my skin. I’ve only used this for 2 weeks but so far I noticed my face is a lot brighter and glowy. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster I used to get Botox for preventative wrinkles. I get injected by a plastic surgeon and he recommended I wear sunscreen on the daily. I used to not wear sunscreen b/c I didn’t think I needed it. I am on the tanner side and believed the myth that only fair skinned people needed them. I was proven wrong by my injector and he recommended I use ELTA MD’s sunscreen. I love this sunscreen because it also moisturizes. It has a creamy consistency similar to a moisturizer. I hate that sticky feeling that most sunscreens give so this is perfect. This also contains Hyaluronic Acid which is a plus! It’s also cheaper than most high end sunscreens on the market. elta md SKINCARE - UV Daily Broad-Spectrum SPF 40 I know that I can’t make my pores smaller unless I get it physically treated at the Dermatologist’s office, but Paula’s Choice products have made my skin less dull and brighter, has faded my acne scars and seem to made my pores shrink. 💙❤🖤 Color me impressed!

💙❤🖤 Color me impressed! With all the stressful events that's been happening in my life recently, my skin should've been a complete, hot mess! I almost always break out at the 1st sign of stress and/or exhaustion. But, the combination of the 2% BHA and the Antioxidant Pore Purifier, which contains salicylic acid, has been keeping my skin looking v. clear and v. happy. Additionally, the Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 is simply, amaze-balls. It's a watery, light-weight formula that is super easy to apply and leaves my skin feeling nice and matte. It does not pill, sting my eyes, nor irritate my skin. It also plays well with make up, has no scent, and protects my skin extremely well. I hope to never be without this SPF. I'm so grateful that I've had the chance to try these products (paulaschoice). And now that I'm hooked on this brand, I'm curious to try more of their stuff!!

Fungal acne, is not actually acne. 🤫
Fungal acne, is not actually acne. 🤫
Hi, thanks for reading me in advance. ✨ Okay, let’s began with What is fungal acne? Fungal acne is a type of yeast infection in your skin’s hair follicles. It is not acne, but it looks like acne. Most of the dermatologist find difficult to diagnose this since the majority of the time looks like acne. That’s probably why most of products that help to get rid of acne, does not work for this. What are the causes? Fungal acne (Malassezia Folliculitis) feeds from oil and sebum that your face produces, and it usually grows around your chin or forehead. They are pretty uniform in size, and it might come with some itchiness too. So if you live in a tropical weather, if you have oily skin, if you practice sports, you might have a high probability to develop fungal acne. Ingredients to look for/ avoid while having fungal acne: Ingredients to look for: Niacinamide, controls the excess of oil and sebum. Salicylic acid, is an anti fungal ingredient. BHA, helps to prevent fungal acne as well. I Believe it or not some shampoos with Ketokonazole ingredient (specially shampoos that are anti dandruff) works for fungal acne. Sulfur (avoid benzoyl peroxide products with sulfur please) Honey, which is anti fungal and an anti inflammatory. Ingredients to avoid: Facial oils Moisturizers with heavy oils (avoid overusing moisturizers as well) Stay away from routines that have a lot of hydrating products, in other words, minimize your routine. Products that I suggest: Serum THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum BHA PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Moisturizer CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion Shampoohead & shoulders - Instant Oil Control Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Cleanser CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser Sunscreen CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin Sulfur De La Cruz - Sulfur Ointment, Acne Medication, Maximum Strength Also I suggest to check the list of ingredients of your products in the website sezia.com To check which products contribute to your fungal acne, or which one helps. 😋 Make sure to always get a dermatologist diagnosis, because like I said fungal acne treatments are very different from acne treatments. Don’t make the mistake to treat it with acne products because it will make it worse. I hope this little info helped you! And I wish you a happy day. 🌞

Any questions about toner? How to use a toner
Any questions about toner? How to use a toner
The backstory about this post is that I received a message on Instagram a few weeks ago where someone asked me why I didn’t mention “washing off” my toner in one of my posts....uhhhh. They had thought all along that toner was something you had to wash off or it would hurt your skin. I’m not sure where this person heard that, but they need to hear this: unless a toner packaging tells you to wash it off, don’t wash it off... Toners are essentially the step after your cleanser and before your serums/moisturizing step. They can contain treatments like Niacinamide, AHAs or BHAs, Hyaluronic acid, etc. and are typically a lightweight, almost watery consistency to be applied with a cotton pad or by pressing into the skin with your hands. Please note that toner is NOT believed to be a necessary step—it can be seen as a replacement for a serum or treatment or additional hydration/exfoliation—really whatever you’d like to use it for. Also note that many toners contain ALCOHOL which can be incredibly drying to your skin—please read ingredient labels before buying! The toners I typically use are: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator this is an additional exfoliation step I use in my PM routine 1-2 times a week. I press it into my skin using a cotton pad on my porous areas and any areas where I get breakouts. It is alcohol-free. I have previously reviewed this more in-depth on my feed! 5/5 INDIE LEE - CoQ-10 Toner this is a hydration step I use in place of a hydrating serum. I spray it 2-3 times into the palm of my hand in both my AM and PM routines & gently press it into my skin. It provides a hydrating effect with minimal drying time. I have also previously reviewed this product on my feed! 5/5 I heard about both of these products from Instagram hype. Not many products live up the the hype, but these ones work great for my skin type: fair skin, sensitive, combination, acne prone with rosacea. What’s your favorite toner?

I finally got to try paulas ch
I finally got to try paulas choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant for skin perfecting and I want to share my thoughts! 💭 What is it? It’s a liquid exfoliant gentle enough to use Every day on every skin type. It eliminates dead skin cells while clearing pores for a more even, and smoother young looking skin. This exfoliant has a ph of 3.2-3.8 It contains Beta hydroxy acid also known as BHA (Salicylic acid). It is a clear, very hydrating solution that you can apply with a cotton pad. For daytime use, follow with a SPF of 30 or grater. 💭 My experience: I have texture on my skin from my teenage years and ocasional acne because of my hormones and recently because of stress. I started to use this for about 4 days now... I know it’s not enough time to make a review but I just had to share my opinion on this! Regardless of the short amount of time, I’ve been very surprised how amazing this product works on my skin! I haven’t had any new breakouts! I have noticed my pores slightly smaller, I know no product can reduce your pores all the way, but I noticed mine are looking a lot better! Now I know why so many or you recommend this product when I asked for advice on my skin’s texture and my pores! I like how smooth you’re skin looks after every application and how the product sinks well into the skin! I will continue using this until no longer needed! Skincare Story: Acne to Eczema to Glow-Up
Skincare Story: Acne to Eczema to Glow-Up
When I started my skincare journey, I had the oiliest skin imaginable and dealt with constant hormonal breakouts. I tried every brand Sephora had to offer- each one filled with more fragrance, essential oils, and/or alcohol than the last. My skin quickly became overwhelmed and I broke out into terrible atopic dermatitis which would become chronic. And bam! I had eczema. It was... a struggle, to say the least. I went from oily to combination, with flare-ups that got me so dry I’d flake. Unpleasant. But I learned. I switched to fragrance-, essential oil-, alcohol-free skincare. Cleansers with gentle surfactants. Less exfoliation and more nourishing ingredients. Added hydrating products to reduce the dehydration that caused my oily skin and keep my now-combo skin happy. I gave my skin at least 2-4 no-actives rest days every week. My skin slowly recuperated. Now my hyperpigmentation is fading and my eczema flare-ups are less common. I still get breakouts, but they’re less painful and less long-lived. A few products (such as PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster and The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% ) are amazing for their role in reducing my hyperpigmentation, but I can’t emphasize enough how my acne and eczema flare-ups wouldn’t have improved if I hadn’t eliminated my triggers by switching brands. I stopped using fragranced brands like Origins, Fresh, Herbivore, Dr Jart, Tatcha, and Summer Fridays, and switched to biocompatible brands like Drunk Elephant, The Ordinary, The Inkey List, and Paula’s Choice. By taking out all possible irritants, my skin found peace. My acne reduced in frequency + intensity and I nowadays a combo of PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster and PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator keeps them short-lived. Skin rest days are still important but I can’t emphasize enough that your skin is an organ and everyone should be treating it as such 🙌🏽
