Brand Spotlight: BLISS
Bliss is one of my favorite affordable drugstore clean and cruelty free brand. They are easily accessible, you find them at: Ulta, CVS, Target and Bliss.com, etc. I can’t help but love everything that I’ve tried from them. Here are current favorites and must haves: Left to right: bliss - Clear Genius Clarifying Toner + Serum A mixture between toner and serum this is an awesome toner that is alcohol free, vegan, and packed with skin calming and pore refining ingredients : BHA, niacinamide, zinc and cica. bliss - Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer My day/ night cream depending on my mood and what serums I’m using. Sinks in the skin well and has great texture. bliss - Drench & Quench Moisturizer This is comparable to TATCHA - The Water Cream very lightweight but pack a lot of moisture. It leaves my skin feeling a bit tacky which I love as a base before my primer and make up. bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Moisturizer All times favorite basic moisturizer for day and night. I usually use this when either my skin has a break out and I have to go back to basics or when I’m using retinol or some other harsh serums. bliss - Renew & Smooth Night Serum If you are new to glycolic acids or AHAs this is a great beginner’s choice. For me I thought this quite a gentle formula... I didn’t feel any discomfort or irritation. bliss - Fabulips Lip Scrub This is my first lip scrub... so I don’t know if it’s good or not. It’s not bad. It’s moisturizing, exfoliating and didn’t taste bad. 😋 Clean product: 🌱No Parabens 🌱No Alcohol 🌱No Sulfates 🌱No Nuts 🌱No Oils 🌱No Silicones 🐰Cruelty Free 🐰 Vegan Have you tried any of their product? Sensitive skin standout!
Bliss’ Rose Gold Rescue Gentle Moisture Cream for Sensitive Skin is a rich moisturizer that I still find suitable for my combination skin. I’m a big fan of Bliss products and this is no exception. I tried this because I was sent the product from Bliss a few months ago, but of course all opinions are my own. I think that Bliss nailed it with this formula for sensitive skin because it is the perfect consistency and quantity of hydration for a range of skin types from dry to at least my combination skin. Of course the function of this product is to hydrate the skin, but this ingredient list has some exception ingredients like oat extract to sooth sensitive skin, rose flower water to help support the skin’s moisture barrier, colloidal gold to nourish damaged skin, alpine rose stem cells to limit water loss and protect skin against environmental stress, German chamomile to restore moisture levels and more. It’s fragrance free (yay!) and really just a standout moisturizer for when my skin is going through it: be that inflammation, acclimating to a new environment, or for use after a retinoid. I hope you can see the texture here in this photo — but it is so rich yet sinks into the skin effortlessly. I wasn’t sure my skin would be able to tolerate this formula but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it does! I really like this moisturizer and in general all of Bliss’ moisturizers have worked well for me, but I think this one will be a great addition to a lot of people’s skincare collections. I’d recommend this to anyone with a compromised skin barrier, whose skin is acclimating to a new environment or who just needs a gentle moisturizer because they have sensitive skin. I’d be curious to see how this formula works for an oilier type as it worked for my combination skin though I didn’t think it would initially. At $21 this is totally worth the price and it’s formulation is awesome — Bliss has done it again with this Rose Gold Rescue Moisturizer! 5/5.

🌟What is squalane? According to goodhoursekeeping.com “Squalane is the hydrogenated form of squalene (with an “e”), which is a lipid that is naturally produced by the oil glands in our skin that hydrates and maintain the our skin’s barrier.” With age, our skins squalene production decreases and scientist have found that hydrogenated plant or animal squalene will lend the same benefits. Traditionally, squalene are sourced from sharks’ livers— but thank goodness for modern technology— it can also be sourced from plants. Most common are olive, rice bran, wheat germ and sugar cane. 🌟What are the benefits? Squalane oil has great emollient properties— soften, keep skin hydrated and moisturized. It’s lightweight and absorbs instantly into our skin— because it’s a form of a substance that our bodies produce. Other than preserving skins moisture level, squalane can also increase luminosity of skin, reduce the looks of wrinkles, fine lines, and redness. It also has natural antioxidant properties— as it helps to repair your skin barrier and also protects your skin from free radicals. It is particularly great for dry inflamed skin, but it is beneficial for all skin types. 🌟How to incorporate into daily routine: Dermatologist recommends that you massage a couple of drops on your skin after cleansing, toning, essence, and serums. Then follow with moisturizer and SPF (for AM routine). Depending on the formula/ product There are heaps of articles saying that you it on your hair, scalp, and nails. Got to give that a go! The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane — Clean product: 🌱No Parabens 🌱No Alcohol 🌱No Sulfates 🌱No Nuts 🌱No Oils 🌱No Silicones 🐰 Cruelty Free 🐰 Vegan I’ve recently incorporated this 100% plant based squalane to my skin care routine and I am loving the way it makes my skin feel. I have combination to dry skin with eczema patches on my (left) eye and neck and I have been loving adding a couple of this light weight oil after my serums. AM: squalane oil then follow with bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Moisturizer and MISSHA - All Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk SPF50+/PA+++ PM: squalane oil then follow with COSRX - Low pH BHA Overnight Mask I’ve also been testing this on my eczema patches on my body for the last couple of nights and it’s been good— so far no additional irritations. Fingers crossed! Please let me know what other squalane oil I should try after this one. Thank you! Be Kind, Stay Beautiful.

Clean Skincare Routine with Bliss🍊
I’ve been using this skincare combo over the course of a few weeks and I must say it works quite well on my sensitive skin. Here’s a breakdown of the products shown above: Products used: bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Cleanser $13 - This is a gentle foaming cleanser for sensitive skin and didn’t irritate my skin whatsoever. No stinging or excessive dryness afterwards. bliss - Pumpkin Powerhouse Resurfacing & Exfoliating Enzyme Mask $15 - This mask is infused with a 10% skin smoothing pumpkin blend of natural AHA’s which gently exfoliated my skin. The pumpkin smell is pretty pungent but my skin was so smooth after I rinsed this bad boy off. bliss - Bright Idea Serum Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Serum $27 - it’s safe to say anything with vitamin C becomes my bff. Over the course of two weeks my skin began to look brighter but most importantly my dark spots slowly began to fade. bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Moisturizer $21 - This is a gentle moisture cream that applied thick but melted into my skin as I began to rub it in. Very suitable for sensitive skin. bliss - Lemon & Sage Body Butter $5 - I gave this body butter a 3 mainly because of the added in fragrance. It does smell amazing but I have eczema prone skin and I am always skeptical to putting fragrances on my body. Overall, the vitamin C serum is definitely my fav since it helps combat these stubborn dark marks and the gentle moisture cream is a close second. This skincare combo has had me feeling refreshed all throughout my zoom meetings😌

bliss Rose Gold Rescue collection for sensitive skin, this trio arrived at my doorstep with perfect timing. They’re perfectly packaged in blush pink and rose gold and, like all Bliss products, they’re super affordable. Not to play favorites, but the Gentle Foaming Cleanser is really amazing. I love a good foaming cleanser because they leave my skin feeling clean, but can tend to be drying. This cleanser has a milky, creamy foam that works gently to clean the skin and rinses clean. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry. It also has a slightly iridescent sparkle due to the colloidal gold and a subtle rose scent from rose water. The Soothing Toner Mist is a gorgeous rose water based toning spray that soothes and refreshes the skin. I love the convenience factor of toning sprays and this one is lovely. It feels soothing and doesn’t irritate my skin at all. Last, but certainly not least, is the Gentle Moisture Cream. This moisturizer has a somewhat thick, balm-like texture; not unlike a night cream, but melts into the skin with little effort. It doesn’t leave any greasy residue or feel heavy once it’s absorbed and has a subtle rose scent. I will say that, as someone with dry skin, it’s not quite hydrating enough for me. While I do love the texture, I think it may be better suited to those with normal to oily skin. I’ll definitely give it another go when the weather gets warmer and my skin isn’t so temperamental. I found the entire collection to be calming and soothing.
