What Else You Need to KnowFormulated with antioxidant-rich fruit extracts and a soothing and nourishing blend of African oils, this balm cleanser transforms from an oil to a milk to cleanse and moisturize, leaving behind a dewy glow. This cleanser is free of essential oils, silicones, and fragrance. Drunk Elephant is committed to using only ingredients that either directly benefit the health of the skin or support the integrity of their formulations. The brand focuses on healthy pH levels, formulations the skin recognizes, small molecular structure that’s easily absorbed, and effective active ingredients that also support the skin’s acid mantle. All of their products are designed to be mixed together—what Drunk Elephant calls making a smoothie. (This is true for all of their products except their sunscreen, Umbra, which sits on top of the skin, protecting it from UV damage.) The result is skin that is reset to its happiest, healthiest state. Drunk Elephant is a supporter of IEF (International Elephant Foundation) and is cruelty-free. Some cleansing balms for Oily/Acne prone skin
Some cleansing balms for Oily/Acne prone skin
Here's a tower shot of some cleansing balms I have been using... I have tried some cleansing balms in the past that either broke me out or I didn't like, these are some I tried and liked : @banilacousa Clean it zero cleansing balm BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original - ✨ Fragrance free ✨Removes makeup, sunscreen and other non-waterproof makeup ✨Glides easily and feels so lightweight ✨ Emulsifies so well and rinses off completely ✨ Doesn't leave a greasy film and doesn't sting/blur eyes @elemis Pro collagen cleansing balmELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm - ✨ Has strong fragrance ✨Removes makeup, sunscreen and other non-waterproof makeup ✨Glides easily and feels so lightweight ✨ Emulsifies so well and rinses off completely ✨ Doesn't leave a greasy film and doesn't sting/blur eyes @lxmiofficial Pure nilotica oil LXMI - Pure Nilotica Melt Nourishing Balm-to-Oil ( Even though this isn't sold as a cleansing balm I really like how it removes makeup and also doesn't clog pores) ✨Fragrance free ✨Texture is thick, melts into oil ✨Removes makeup and sunscreen ✨ Doesn't emulsify ✨Leaves a greasy film on skin The cleansing balms I didn't like: @drunkelephant - Slaai makeup melting butter cleanserDRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser (This has marula oil and surprisingly it broke me out.I out this to test in different scenarios but every time I used it it gave me small breakouts, so is a no for me) @ponds cold cream makeup removerPOND'S - Cold Cream Cleanser ( This is thick cold cream that is packaged and marketed to remove makeup and dirt but isn't the best experience. It's too occlusive and doesn't glide on skin easily. It also doesn't emulsify at all and leaves that crazy thick film on skin when rinsed with water. Well, it doesn't even rinse off to start with) @banilacousa Clean it Zero is my favorite so far. Works the best for Oily/Acne prone skin. I bought this value size tub on Amazon for 23$ which is truly a bang for the buck.

Slaai or Green Clean - what’s the better balm?
Slaai or Green Clean - what’s the better balm?
Hey friends! This post is a head-to-head comparison of two lovely cleansing balms. I’ll choose a clear winner below, but I want to hit on the most important aspects of a cleansing balm and why I like one more than the other. Keep in mind I have sensitive, dry combination skin! Both of these products are marketed to all skin types. The products are: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm Price: Farmacy Green Clean: $34 for 3.4 Oz (pictured here is the limited edition jumbo size) Drunk Elephant Slaai: $35 for 3.88oz, plus a tube of exfoliating bamboo and charcoal powder (pictured here is the midi size) Scooper: Farmacy: comes with a scooper that does not affix to the tub or fit inside the lid of the tub. DE: comes with a magnetic scooper that affixes to the top of the tub. Scent: Farmacy: smells like animal crackers or lime sherbet DE: has no smell; maybe a medicinal scent if anything Formula: Farmacy: uses sunflower + ginger root oils DE: uses virgin marula oil Ease of application: Farmacy: takes less effort to melt into an oil DE: takes a little extra TLC to completely melt When adding water: Farmacy: turns into a visible milky cleanser and washes off easily—skin feels tight afterwards DE: turns into a clear milky cleanser and leaves a light residue on the skin—feels nourishing and ready for the second cleanse Cons: Farmacy: burns my eyes, gives me blurry vision DE: no cons Overall thoughts: So I purchased the jumbo green clean WITHOUT testing it first (bc I’m a DUMMY) and I regret not buying a full size Slaai. While the Farmacy Green Clean is nice and does a good job removing SPF and makeup, I can’t use it on eye makeup or around my eye area because it burns the absolute heck out of my eyeballs. The Drunk Elephant Slaai is all around a great first cleanse step and preps the skin for the second cleanse without stripping it. If I had to recommend one over the other it would be Slaai 100%. Have you used either of these cleansers? What are your thoughts?

Battle of The Bougie Balms!!
Battle of The Bougie Balms!!
I’ve been in the skincare world for five months now, and part of my journey has been stepping up my cleansing game. I wanted to invest in a good cleansing balm, and I know these are the top two balms on Sephora. I bought the travel size versions on Sephora. FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm Full size price: $34 for 3.4 oz Fragrance: A lemon-lime sorbet with a hint of herbal that becomes more noticeable after continued use. Texture: A sorbet that emulsifies (turns to oil) beautifully! A nice oil that’s not too thick on the skin. Face makeup removing ability: Amazing! Seeing that this balm emulsifies so well, it’s ability to take off layers of makeup in a single cleanse is amazing. In my two months of using it, I only had my second cleanse pickup leftover traces of face makeup once. Eye makeup removing ability: Amazing! My Marc Jacobs Eyeliner is incredibly stubborn to where even certain micellar waters couldn’t take it off. This takes it off with one rub. Overall: I once had a strict, gluten-free mom approach about fragrance in skincare so at first I was nervous about using this. I experienced NO irritation at all, and it’s important to note that some of the fragrance oils are listed fairly low on the ingredient list. This balm is absolutely amazing at removing makeup, and the scent just adds a lovely experience to it. Thanks to this balm, I’m ok with fragrance being in a first cleanse only. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser Full size price: $34 for 3.8 oz Fragrance: Fragrance-free/no added fragrance oils, but has a natural nutty/canola oil-like scent due to the Marula oil it’s formulated with. Texture: A waxy butter that emulsifies into a mega thick oil that honestly feels like canola oil on the skin. Face makeup removing ability: Since the oil is just so thick and leaves a residue, it takes about maybe 3/4 of my makeup off. I often have to use my second cleanse to take the remainder off. Eye makeup removing ability: Awful! I really have to rub my eyes to take this off. Exfoliation factor: DE compensates for the lack of fragrance in the cleansing balm experience by adding an optional physical exfoliator made of bamboo and charcoal powder (swipe to see). They market this exfoliation as gentle, when in reality it’s very harsh (as is the case with most physical exfoliators). Highly recommend skipping this step! Overall: Love DE’s Marula oil in my moisturizer and as a facial oil but not to wash my face with! This balm is just too waxy and too thick, making it incredibly difficult to remove makeup. And the winner is.. FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm ! However, I do think it’s very pricey to make as my main first cleanse. I’ll try THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balmnext.

Drunk Elephant Slaai Is Amazing!
Drunk Elephant Slaai Is Amazing!
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser begins like the mini in the back: solid, smooth, like a freshly-opened container of butter. Then, you scoop some out, and as you use it you slowly soften it further and further. The texture is like butter in that the solid balm melts to a viscous oil as the warmth from your hands encourages all those oils to liquify. But texture is where the similarities to butter end. With five HG African seed oils and three fruit seed oils: no animal fats here! Cranberry, açaí, watermelon, baobab, kalahari melon, mongongo, ximenia, and -of course- marula oils all nourish your skin as you’re gently rubbing this balm into your skin, penetrating through layers of oil, makeup, and grime without the help do surfactants. It makes it such a gentle cleanser! I imagine some of the African oils are from fruit seeds, but Drunk Elephant separates them in the product description so I shall as well 🍉🍈 This is the only balm cleanser I’ll use, as it’s the only one that doesn’t leave a palpable residue on my cheeks. It doesn’t make me oily, an achievement for such a nourishing blend! This balm is very gentle, not even irritating my eyes whenever it gets into them from overly-enthusiastic mascara removal, and doesn’t leave a film over my eyes. It soothes any angry blemishes very nicely, thanks to the added moisture and lack of surfactants that might irritate the already-inflamed skin. Overall? My HG cleansing balm 🙌🏽

Cleansing Balm: Drunk Elephant OR Farmacy ?
Cleansing Balm: Drunk Elephant OR Farmacy ?
I have tried two popular cleansing balm and now want to share my feeling about them to you guys. One is Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm, and the other is Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup Melting Butter. Package: Drunk Elephant 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Farmacy🌟🌟🌟 Although Drunk Elephant's packaging is a little bit heavier, it provides a small spoon stuck by a magnitude, which makes it way more convenient to use. Texture: Farmacy 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Drunk Elephant 🌟🌟🌟 Farmacy's is more blendable and more natural to melt-down in hands or face, While it may take a while for Drunk elephant. I also need to notice that DE one would be a little bit difficult to clean off thoroughly. So if you are acne-skin type, farmacy is better for you. Cleaning power: Both are great! I would call it an even since both can clean heavy makeup, even mascara! Scent: Farmacy 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Drunk Elephant 🌟 Farmacy definitely smells better. It is not a strong but lightweight, good scent. But the Drunk Elephant's smell is a little too irritating for me. Some people argue that this is because DE is more eco-friendly, and the product is without artificial flavor. But sincerely, I wouldn't say I like the smell. Other: Drunk Elephant gives an extra hydrating feeling. I would give it some extra points for that. In all, personally, I prefer Farmacy. The experience is nice when using Farmacy's cleansing balm. But if you don't mind the smell and really care whether the product is eco-friendly, go with Drunk Elephant!

Slaai The Day Away 🐘
Slaai The Day Away 🐘
The product: The Slaai makeup-melting butter cleanser is a rich oil infused cleanser that is designed to remove all traces of dirt, makeup, and any other products on your skin, while gently exfoliating your skin for a better complexion! 🐘 Slaai is also cruelty-free, which is just a bonus. 🌱 My impressions: The Drunk Elephant rich oil makeup remover is a very oily product, and as I am not one too flaunt over oily products, Slaai is NOT my go-to remover! I hate having to deal with the oils afterwards as it becomes such a hassle and such a long process. Although it did work well and there were no issues with the product itself, it would be a better use to be a ‘shower’ makeup remover, as the whole process would be much simpler. The product itself essentially melts in your palm, which I find so cool, and the scent was rather buttery and bland which I did like, and there was also tons of product within the container! You really do get a bang for your buck. If you prefer oilier products to help wash away the day, Slaai would be the makeup-melter for you! ✨ How it works on combination skin: As this product is already extremely oily, it does not cause any dryness, but at times it does over hydrate the skin. Natural oilers are not stripped either! Slaai did not cause any hyperpigmentation or blemishes, and only had overall positive results! 💚 Skin type for Slaai: 🙌🏼 Normal 🙌🏼 Combination 🙌🏼 Dry Length of Use: 2 months! Cost: $45 / 110 G Target Areas: Dryness 🎯 Recommend: The Slaai makeup-melter is a great option for makeup removal if you prefer an oil based product and it does the job quite well. If this sounds like your cup of tea, I recommend this product, but if not, you can definitely find a great dupe that is not oil based. Overall Rating: My overall rating is that it really does ‘Slaai The Day Away!’ It does what is instructed and designed today and the oil issue is just a personal preference. However, I do love the scent and design. ⭐️ DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
