Do You Need An Eye Cream?
Short answer? No. Long answer? No. Eye creams are all advertising- brands selling you a moisturizer in a smaller bottle and pretending it’s somehow superior to another moisturizer. It’s not. I love the eye creams I’ve featured in this photo, but moreso because they feel nice and I like a twenty-step skincare routine, not because they’re miracle cures. This skincare myth doesn’t offer long-term help for your puffiness, dark circles, fine lines, or wrinkles. Let’s talk about what does help them: • Puffiness and Dark circles are generally a genetic, lifestyle, and/or environmental issue. Allergies? See it around eyes. Not very hydrated? See it around eyes. Not enough sleep? See it around eyes. Drink more water, reduce sodium/alcohol/caffeine intake, get more sleep, and consult a doctor about any seasonal allergies. As well, the puffiness/dark circles may be due to fat distribution in the face, something that worsens with age. Wear sunscreen to preserve what collagen you can and visit a dermatologist to talk about filler for a visibly-noticeable long-term fix. Until then, I’m a fan of Glossier. - Stretch Concealer over Glossier. - Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream to keep my hereditary dark circles under control. • Fine lines and Wrinkles are a touchy subject. The main offense is a good defense: apply a fragrance-free (all good skincare should be fragrance-free though) moisturizer to your entire face- including around your eyes, where skin is thin and fragile. Repeat the process with sunscreen. Voila, you’ve staved off wrinkles another day! Want to try a more “active” approach? Lightly apply a collagen-stimulating peptide serum and/or a gentle retinol cream. However, when the fine lines and wrinkles have already developed, no topical product is going to be as effective as biting the bullet and getting some filler- I’d sooner save my $$$ for the dermatologist’s office than on an eye cream that claims to be able to erase years off my future crow’s feet.
Glossier.-Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream
Lots of you have asked me about Glossier. - Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream and I’ve been using it for a few months steadily now, so I have thoughts to share! A lot of people like it for one aspect and not the other, but as of right now I only use it as a plumping eye cream. Some features: — cute little pump to safely and hygienically deliver product — texture is thicker than what you think can come out of the bottle, but spreads pleasantly — no fragrance wahoo! — claims: plumping lip and eye cream — as an eye cream, it’s easy to melt in and wears well under makeup. I do feel like my skin feels a tad more youthful and hydrated under my eyes with this. — Notable ingredients: Hyaluronic Acid, Peptide Complex and Portulaca Pilosa Extract, Avocado Oil, Squalane, Blueberry Fruit Extract. — other info: $26, cruelty free, vegan More info: — I like this as an eye cream, as it DOES plump my under eyes, and I can tell! But other than that, it’s pretty basic. I wish it hydrated a little more or helped with dark circles (which I think are just hereditary anyway). Like any other glossier product, I think it’s overhyped and underperforming for the price. $26 for a basic eye cream? No thanks. Anyway, I will use this up cause I’m not a monster. It doesn’t irritate my skin or hurt when I inevitably get it in my eyes! But I will not be repurchasing as I have some other eye creams I have my eye on!

Glossier: More than Aesthetics
When I first heard of this brand, I was a bit skeptical. I thought that that the company focused on packaging and marketing instead of quality formulations. I also thought that many of the formulas would have high concentrations of fragrance. After much research and testing, I have come to find that I was wrong. The brand has fragrance-free products with quality formulas. ——————————————————————————————— Glossier. - Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream This product includes antioxidants such as blueberry extract that can reduce factors related to sun damage. It also contains a skin replenishing peptide along with sodium hyaluronate which helps to plump skin. The hydrating ingredients of this product include squalane and avocado oil. -This product comes packaged in an aluminum bottle with a pump which helps protect the light and air sensitive ingredients from exposure. -The lightweight lotion absorbs quickly and works well under makeup. -Around the eyes, it immediately hydrates and it also works well if layered with other skincare products. -The product is easy to spread so a ton of product is not necessary. -Fragrance-free Glossier. - Super Glow Vitamin C + Magnesium Serum This product features a new form of vitamin C which is magnesium ascorbyl phosphate. This form of vitamin C could be beneficial to the skin, but lacks the research to prove of its brightening and anti-aging effects. -Water light liquid texture. -Fragrance-free. -Not much research behind magnesium PCA helping to energize skin. -Lacks other anti-aging ingredients to strengthen the formula. Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color Now this is a light-weight, cream blush that is easy to use. It aims to deliver a sheer color which is good for a natural finish. -This product is easy to blend and has a natural feel to it which is adequate for all skin types. -It’s easy to build up the color or just leave it for a more faint natural look. -Fragrance-free. Glossier. - Super Bounce Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin B5 Serum This is a hyaluronic acid serum that plumps skin and vitamin B5 for hydration. -Smooth liquid texture works well layered with other products or on its own. -Fragrance-free. -Needs more beneficial ingredients to bolster the formula instead of relying on two main ingredients. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom Now, this product has a very hydrating formula since it has petrolatum which is exceptional for dryness and has skin protectant properties. The formula also has beeswax, castor oil, and lanolin which are amazing ingredients to seal moisture in. -The mint version has menthol which can impair skin and lead to chapped lips. -The birthday cake flavor is formulated with limonene, a common skin irritant. Glossier. - Haloscope Dew Effect Highlighter A simple yet effective highlighter. -Fragrance-free -Has many beneficial plant oils Conclusion: This brand has many products worthy of recommendations!
My Go-To Lip Look
I’m not particularly skilled in the hand dexterity department, so I like my makeup simple and natural. But I love statement lips on “no makeup” makeup looks, which I achieve smoothly and in varying intensity with Glossier. 1. Prep Lips: I prep my lips for product by gently dabbing on moisturizer or Glossier. - Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream , letting it settle before applying a thin layer of Glossier. - Balm Dotcom in a corresponding color as the lipstick I’ll be applying. This creates a smooth, plump base. 2. Matte Color: A single swipe of Glossier. - Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick offers a light tint, getting more vibrant/dark as more layers are applied. Zip has stolen my heart for an olive-skintone-friendly red, neither too orange not too blue. I focus on the center of my lips and feather it out to the edges with my fingertips for a subtle gradient. 3. Gloss: I hate lip gloss. Well, other lip glosses. But Glossier. - Glossier. Lip Gloss manages to slick on without stickiness or tackiness, though it does catch hair in a windy car... which is just life, I suppose! I follow the previous method of focusing on the center of my lips and lightly dragging it outwards with a clean fingertip. This creates a simple, glossy lip that dresses up a simple cat eye or “no makeup” look. #CheriePartner
Plump Lips = Healthy Lips
Lips are covered in skin. Whenever that skin is dry or irritated, lips feel tight and often appear less full/plump due to the dry skin being less apt to reflect light or allow skin to be fully pliant/stretchy. As well, sun damage can speed up the break down of collagen in the lips, lessening their fullness. Treating the skin on your lips more dutifully can help lips appear fuller and smoother, plus keeps them a perfect canvas for lip looks if you’re a makeup wearer! • Moisturizer: Whenever applying my face products, I never avoid my lips. They get gentle exfoliation, buffered tretinoin, antiaging niacinamide and vitamin c.... But most of all, I make sure to coat them well in moisturizer. The skin on your lips is very thin and this leads to increased risk of water loss, which can be reflected in chapped and flaky lips. Augmenting your lips with a moisturizer that contains ceramides and lipids helps to keep that fragile skin barrier bouncy and the water within replenishes moisture that is easily lost. I always keep a sample size of moisturizer, such as PAULA'S CHOICE - Defense Nightly Reconditioning Moisturizer , with me during the day to reapply under... • Occlusive: Moisturizer inevitably is absorbed, and what good is moisture if it’s not retained by the skin? Using an occlusive like CeraVe - Healing Ointment is fantastic in the PM after applying moisturizer to the lips, but my favourite day-to-day lip occlusive is the iconic Glossier. - Balm Dotcom . Waxy balms are only effective at retaining moisture if there’s moisture to retain, so apply a more emollient product like Glossier. - Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream first. • Sunscreen: I didn’t add a sunscreen into the above photo, but sunscreen is integral to maintaining naturally plump lips. Localized collagen depletion causes lips to thin and lose shape as we age, so consistently applying sunscreen protects the collagen. I like PAULA'S CHOICE - Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30 specifically for my lips due to how quickly it soaks in and the hydrated shine it offers. #CheriePartner
The Eye Cream For People Who Don’t Need Any
GLOSSIER BUBBLEWRAP - EYE & LIP PLUMPING CREAM Overall, I really love this product. I use it morning and night to give my eyes some dewy goodness. Eye creams aren’t a necessity, but this one is so rich and really keeps the delicate skin around your eye in check. INGREDIENTS: Contains GREAT moisturizing ingredients like Glycerin, Dimethicone, Squalane and Hyaluronic Acid. Also includes blueberry extract for that antioxidant boost! APPLICATION: I use under my eyes and on my lips morning and night. It absorbs fast, but leaves a dewy finish behind! It also does not pill under concealer or sunscreen. IS IT FOR ME? My only issue with this product is that it doesn’t contain any active ingredients. If you’re someone who is trying to combat under eye circles or wrinkles, this won’t do anything for you. It will keep you moisturized, which has its own benefits. But your face moisturizer can also go under your eyes, so this product isn’t really a necessity. I would give it 5 stars if it contained retinol! PRODUCT AMOUNT: For under 1 FL OZ and priced at $26, it’s a little pricey. However, I use this everyday and it lasted me two - three months! OVERALL: This product has such a nice feel to it, but it’s not necessary in your routine. But, if you want to splurge a little, and don’t need to fight any wrinkles or dark circles- I highly reccomend! Glossier. - Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream
