A Zoom Patient Encounter ft Glossier’s Niteshine
HONEST FEMME FINDS: It’s the end of the academic year which means our final series of mock-patient encounters. Only one more year until we start rotating through the hospitals (kind of glad I slipped through the COVID-19 mess)! During these patient encounters, patient actors interact with students through Zoom, and we do get graded on a scale of 1-5 how professional and clean we look! After a month of barely leaving the house and putting on makeup, I figured today was my perfect chance to try out my bulk order from Glossier. The play highlighter in Niteshine has been one of the few new products that’s stood out to me. Here are some of my thoughts. Glossier. - Niteshine Highlighter Concentrate COLOR: ultra pigmented highlighter with heavy pink/rose undertones. A little pigmented for an everyday office look but adds a perfect amount of depth over a blurred MacBook webcam during a zoom call. Can easily make it an everyday highlighter if used lightly. APPLICATION: applicator looks like a lipgloss wand. I normally just use my finger, dab the tip and apply with my hands. The wand does come in handy if I want to line my nose or lower waterline. PRICE: I bought this in a set and on sale but it normally retails for $20 a piece, again like many glossier products, a bit pricey for the amount they give you (0.34 fl Oz). I’d say still worth it for how quickly it’s made it’s way into my light makeup routine! Before this, I solely used the NYX liquid illuminate for years and years.
💪🏼Can't Live Without! Glossier Boy Brow💪🏼
Just like most Asains, I have super sparse brows and I'm also super lazy so I don't like wasting a bunch of time to get a perfect filled that does not look non-existent. I looked around for the easiest way possible to get easy and decent brows and that is when I foundGlossier. - Boy Brow when I went to a Glossier popup store in Austin. Before going, I looked up some products and I saw soooo many review on the Boy Brow. I found out that it is inspired by the traditional hair pomade which keeps hair in place while not making its' texture become too stiff😯. When I tried the product at Glossier, I fell in love! ♥️It is absolutely super easy to use and if you're someone like me who wants a more natural and "no make-up" look then this is the right product for you. It does not clump the brows but it allows you to shape and groom your brows into place. The texture of the product is creamy and waxy yet brushable consistency☺️. The packaging is a super tiny tube that looks like a mascara. The spoolie is shorter than a mascaras brush but I feel like the length is pretty easy to use. I like this product and can't live without it because it is so easy to use. You can't really mess up with this product tbh. I also like the formula since it contains Oleic acid, lecithin, and atelocollagen which are all ingreduents that help condition and moisturize the brows👌🏻. This product only comes in 3 subtly tinted shades: blond, brown, and black. When I picked out my shade, I was in between brown and black and I was scared that brown would be too light and black would be too dark but when I tried brown on, it was perfect! I think it's because it is a super subtle tint so it blends pretty well with my brows. I would definately recommend 👍🏻this prodcut for lazy and natural look seekers like me since it is so easy to use. The only thing I would warn you about is that this product is SO tiny so make sure to keep an eye on it since I feel like it's pretty easy to lose. This product is $16 for only 3/12g/0.11 oz so it is slightly on the expensive side but I feel like its worth it since really little product is needed for a single use.
WOW (brow) 💫
(Before anything, yes, I need to get my brows done but we’re in quarantine in this house, bear with me). I’ve been a loyal Glossier. - Boy Brow user for a long time now, and there’s a little story on why I switched to the e.l.f. - Wow Brow Gel My husband and I took a day trip and I was about to do my makeup in the car when I noticed I forgot my beloved boy brow. I stopped at Walmart to look for something and found this baby, I had already seen some friends talk about this one. And yes, I fell in love with it. It’s easy to use, gives me that full, feathery brow look I like, its buildable and hear this, it’s only $4 compared to $16 from boy brow, I don’t think I’m ever going back 😳 Only thing is boy brow is more waxy so it has better holding power, but wow brow is pretty good and at that price point I think it’s a better option!
Excited about NY, going to prep my skin up tonight 🥰, not 100% sure what mask I will use. So I have had glossier for a couple of weeks now, so have had a good play with the products. First off the packaging is spot on! My opinions on the products. 🔸Cloud paint: Really like these! Really pigmented and apply really well and last a while, even on my slightly oily summer face. The one I have been reaching for is “dusk” which is a brownish nude, and is so perfect for everyday. I apply with my fingers then buff out with an eco tools stripping brush. 🔸Balm Dotcom: These are pretty good and I like them but I wouldn’t say they are must have, I have a variety of balms that work just as well. 🔸Boybrow: love this! I have been growing my brows out and using a brow serum to help with the growth as I over plucked in my 20s and also lost some hair when I was pregnant. This brow gel gives my brows volume and gives me actual boy brows, I could be competing with my husband right now! 🔸Lashslick: Nice mascara for everyday natural look. 🔸Haloscope: In colour quartz. Very Dewy highlighter. I like it but have to be careful when I use it, it can “move” my foundation if I am not careful and if my face is oily it can make it look oilier. So quite like the products, and for the price point they are good! They are perfect for a natural look, and that is their selling point. My favourite is the cloud paints, very pigmented and easy to blend and don’t settle into pores.
Brows! I love brows and it has taken me a bit of trial and error to get what works for me. So carrying with gameofglows I have picked out my favourite brow products. glossier Boybrow, great all rounder not too dark and just adds the right amount of natural definition. hourglass Arc Brow Volumizing Gel. Adds great column to brows. Applicator has long and short bristles. anastasiabeverlyhills Dip Brow with the no. 12 brush. My favourite brow promade. It takes the smallest amount and it stays pretty waterproof. I line and do stokes with the pomade and the spoolie at the end helps shape and lighten the pomade. revitalash This eyebrow serum is amazing! I over plucked and lost a lot of eyebrow hair with pregnancy. I was about to micoblade my eyebrows but got recommended this before I I went down that route. It took about 6 weeks to really notice any difference but once it did start stimulating growth it grew quite a lot. I tried a cheaper product and I regret it as my brows now don’t look as good.

How to get Fluffy Soap Style Brows!! 🧼
Here is my fluffy brow tutorial that I do every day to achieve natural looking thick brows I think it’s essential to use a brow pen type product to achieve this look, they allow you to draw on hair like strokes that mimic your natural brows so it looks like they’re really that thick! A few of my faves: ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Micro-Stroking Detailing Brow Pen - very pigmented, easy to go overboard but doesn’t run out as quickly as others Glossier. - Brow Flick this one would be my favourite if it didn’t dry up so fast! Lime Crime - Bushy Brow Precision Pen A great one! It last forever however I find it can sometimes oxidize red URBAN DECAY - Brow Blade Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil & Ink Stain very similar to the ABH one, it’s quite pigmented and the tip can be a little too thick, I also love it for fake freckles Glossier. - Boy Brow in clear is unmatched, It gives me perfect brows every time. Only downside is that it is so tiny that I run out of it so fast Step by step on fluffy brows: 1. Brush brow hairs up with a spoolie/eyebrow brush 2. Draw on hair like strokes that mimic the thickness and direction in which your brows grow in places you want to fill 3. To define your brows more, brush your brows downward and draw on strokes in the opposite direction to define your arch 4. Wait a few seconds for the strokes to dry down and then using a strong hold clear gel like the boy brow, brush your brows upward again, this will thicken them and make them look fluffy and natural Pro tip: fill your brows in with the pen at the start of your routine, once finished and have used your setting spray, apply the gel. This will help the brows hold in place longer because you aren’t moistening them with the setting spray. #CheriePartner

Over-Exfoliated Skin: What To Do NextOver-exfoliation has a plethora of symptoms, ranging from redness and inflammation, tightness of the skin, dryness and flakiness, irritation bumps, rashes, breakouts, and a stinging sensation. With the rise in popularity of at-home chemical exfoliation, it’s easier than ever before to take it a step too far. Everyone is trying out TikTok-famous products like The Ordinary’s AHA 30% and BHA 2% Peeling Solution without an understanding of how strong it really is. Chemical exfoliation is all the rage now, due to its ability to clear up acne, even out the skin tone, and give you a glowy look. But none of these things will happen if you don't exfoliate properly!Sep. 29
