Last night I finished off my h
Last night I finished off my herbivorebotanicals Blue Tansy. I probably got 4-5 uses out of this mini jar, and unfortunately, I’m not sure I’ll be in a rush to repurchase. It really pains me to say that because my first few experiences with this mask were positive. The smell took some getting used to, but I liked how it dried down and that I could feel it working and cooling practically the whole 10-15 minutes it stayed on my face. THIS LAST TIME THOUGH?? Oh boy, I think I over-exfoliated or something, maybe, because my face was on FIRE. This mask was always intense for me anyway, but this hurt, and I could only leave it on for like 5 minutes. There was literally a red ring around my T-zone that showed where the product was on my face. This had never happened before, so I’m almost certain it was my fault, but I don’t know, man. Once my Lapis is out, I’ll probably get the duo again and give it another shot, but right now, I’m scarred! 😂😂😂 Anybody else experience anything like this? Oh, the hazards of over-exfoliation! ANYWAY, going with the much gentler Moon Fruit, Phoenix/Lapis combo tonight. Those are products from this brand that I will absolutely be repurchasing once they’re gone!

💙 Monday Blues 💙 . 🔷 I’d introduce 2 of my absolute favorite blue skincare products; lapis and bluetansy . . 🔷 The true blue duo was the first purchase I made from herbivorebotanicals and drew me into trying more of their line. As I make my way through the herbivorebotanicals family I’m still taken with my first love. No other other pairing in my collection calms angry skin quite as quickly and effectively as these do. As impressive as they are as a pair, they stand tall on their own

Been using the herbivore lapis
Been using the herbivore lapisoil for about a week now every morning. I’m in love! It’s soothing and soaks right in so I’m not left feeling oily. It makes my skin feel moisturized and refreshed. I’ve tried the bluetansy mask twice now and it’s another new love for me. I rinse it off and feel refreshed and my skin looks brighter. Definitely going to keep continuing with these two💙

One way that I practice at home wellness is by skincare and specifically whenever I want treat myself, I do a face mask. I've just recently started using the blue tansy by @herbivorebotanicals and I really love it! It has fruit enzymes as AHA and uses white Willow bark as BHA as well as blue tansy oil to calm the skin. I highly recommend this mask for anybody who wants a good gentle exfoliation while feeling pampered 😊 #athomewellness #cherieconversation

“Clean by Sephora” Brands Can Still Be Damaging
“Clean by Sephora” Brands Can Still Be Damaging
Just because it’s organic, “natural”, or pretty, doesn’t make it good for you. Today I’m going to focus on two brands that consistently overprice their products that claim to be gentle but are, at base, sensitizing water that smells nice. I’d avoid them entirely. • Fresh: I jumped on this Insta-hyped brand a couple years ago. Most of their products are essentially just perfume with some skincare ingredients thrown in for INCI flavor. I’m normally not so harsh, but I get headaches from how fragrant their fresh - Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask is. Same for the fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner , which dried out my skin terribly when my skin barrier started rioting against the volatile rose oil. Even if your skin doesn’t visibly react, fragrance and volatile plant oils oxidize, breaking down collagen beneath the surface, making this a brand I’ll continue to avoid and recommend against when it comes to facial products. • Summer Fridays: Their scrub masks are, full stop, bad for skin. The scrub particles are abrasive and not uniform in size, increasing the likelihood to end up with irritated skin rather than a smooth glow. As well, they’re highly fragranced (see my above beef with fragrance), to the point that I use my leftover SUMMER FRIDAYS - R + R Mask as a foot scrub whenever I want to feel bougie. Damage on the surface AND collagen? Not worth $50. SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask uses orange peel oil, another volatile essential oil, but has the added flaw of featuring peppermint oil, which contains sensitizing, skin-irritating menthol. There are other brands (some of their products included in this “Things That Didn’t Work For Me” photo) that utilize collagen-damaging fragrance and sensitizing essential oils, but I find these two so often praised on Instagram that I can’t help but wonder if people look at the ingredient lists. I know some love these brands and that’s fine- but there are so many better, more affordable brands with clinically-researched ingredients and no unnecessary irritants.

Emptied Blue Tansy Mask
Emptied Blue Tansy Mask
This HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Invisible Pores Resurfacing Clarity Mask is supposed to gently improve texture. I have a few bumps here and there, and I thought this mask would be a great way to clear them up.🤷🏻‍♀️ The mask is oily and blue, and it dries onto the skin after a few minutes. This earned only two stars because the smell was truly unbearable.😷 It gave me an instant headache every time I used it! I also saw no improvements in my skin after using it. I do not think this product is worth it because of the smell and ineffectiveness, and would not recommend this to a friend. 🚫
