To learn more about how to help protect one of the seven natural wonders of the world, click here . Someone who needs to press reset on their irritated skin. More specifically: who washes their face more than twice a day who overdoes skincare by using harsh acne treatments or anti-aging products too often whose skin is constantly dehydrated who has constant redness and dry patches who is sensitive to many skincare products who has chronic stress (yes, cortisol affects the skin barrier too!) who is looking to get rid of hyperpigmentation who has aging or mature skin anyone who intends to maintain a healthy skin barrier function who has skin problems associated with a damaged skin barrier Apply one or two pumps of Great Barrier Relief before your moisturizer or in replacement of your moisturizer. No rules, really! Reach for Great Barrier Relief whenever your skin is feeling irritated and don’t forget to remove those sensitizing products from your routine. How to #PressReset on *EXTREMELY* Irritated Skin with Great Barrier Relief. * The following steps only apply to those who have severely damaged skin-barrier that literally every product they apply stings and irritate. Drop every skincare product you’re using. Take a break from cleansing, which also means no makeup or sunscreen during this period. (If you need to wash your face, use lukewarm water and gently rinse. Use distilled water if you live in a place where tap water is too harsh or unfiltered! Please don't be surprised by the 'skipping sunscreen' advice! It's a very common dermatology practice to advise patients to drop everything including sunscreen when the patient is dealing with an extreme skin condition. When your skin-barrier is damaged, the permeability of the skin increases. The chemical UV filters can easily sink in and further sensitize the skin and nowadays, most conventional mineral sunscreens use nano/micro UV filters which can easily get absorbed into the skin too. And sunscreens that are formulated with other potential irritants can exacerbate the problem so we're eliminating all the potentially problematic factors to really give your skin a reset!) Use Great Barrier Relief morning and night until your skin has reset and feels relieved and relaxed. Start adding back your core essentials once your skin is healed: Cleanser, Moisturizer and SPF. An oil that research shows has remarkable skin-regenerative properties and was traditionally used to heal wounds and cure various skin problems and ailments. It is an oil that our founder is personally OBSESSED with as it has eliminated most of her hyperpigmentation (sunspots, acne scars, other discoloration) far more effectively than any retinol or vitamin C ingredient. We know that’s a pretty big statement to make but clearly she’s onto something. Check out our blog post: Ingredient Series: Tamanu Oil Safflower Oil & Rosehip Seed Oil Two incredible plant-based oils that have amazing skin-nourishing benefits and are higher in linoleic acid than oleic acid. Why does that matter, you ask? Countless studies demonstrate that oils rich in linoleic acid help restore ... (you guessed it!) damaged skin-barriers. The infusion of these two oils results in a high linoleic acid concentration that creates a light consistency, which melts right into your skin without the greasiness. Check out our blog post: Oils, why do we need them? NMF + Ceramides, P hytosterol*, Squalane A cocktail of ingredients that is meant to mimic a healthy skin barrier. These elements are naturally found in your skin when it is not compromised and in a restful state of zen. When life gets too stressful and your skin is put on edge, these super ingredients escape from your skin and leave it vulnerable. Replenish your skin barrier with this restorative combination. *Phytosterol is an ingredient similar to cholesterol found in plants. Check out our blog posts: Ingredient Series: Natural Moisturizing Factors Ingredient Series: Our Skin Barrier Hero, Ceramides Also known as Vitamin B3, this ingredient is the soccer mom of the skincare world who can do it all and more. Highly effective for barrier reparation (of course), anti-aging, skin-brightening, and even acne prevention, niacinamaide is the versatile queen your skin will adore. What’s more, it’s also one of the most gentle active ingredients that delivers great skin benefits without any skin irritation, making it accessible for all skin types to give a chance. Check out our blog post: Ingredient Series: Get to Know Niacinamide Water, Propanediol, Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil(10%), Dipropylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Cetearyl Olivate, Polysorbate 60, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Glyceryl Oleate, Sorbitan Olivate, Sorbitan Oleate, Octyldodecanol, Glycerin, Butylene glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Squalane, Serine, Acetyl Glutamine, Glycine, Ceramide NP, Oleic acid, Sodium PCA, Glycosyl trehalose, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterols, Saccharide Isomerate, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour, Disodium Phosphate, Sodium Phosphate, Tocopheryl acetate, Coco-caprylate/Caprate, Lactic acid, Xanthan gum, Urea, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables, Magnesium Chloride, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Glyceryl Caprylate, Pentylene glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Disodium EDTA Behind Creating Great Barrier Relief #PressReset on instant gratification We are a generation that’s addicted to instant gratification and we see that reflected in the realm of skincare. We find satisfaction in seeing immediate results from our skincare products and this promotes conventional products to try and become more “effective”. This creates harsher formulas, which further inflame and sensitize skin. As a result, we find ourselves reaching for even more products to fix that reaction. Vicious cycle, huh? A poor functioning skin barrier is the culprit of nearly every skin problem, including dehydration, dryness, inflammatory acne, rosacea, eczema, and so much more. Our founder, Liah Yoo , is the number one advocate when it comes to keeping the skin barrier in tact, so it only made sense for us to create this skin-barrier restoring formula. “My aunt is a practitioner of holistic medicine and, on the side, created cosmetic products using natural ingredients and medicinal herbs. One day she came across tamanu oil and after discovering its amazing regenerative properties, began to develop a face cream with it. This was the incidental beginning of a whole new history of skincare. As she was testing out the product, she noticed that a huge, stubborn sunspot on her left cheek was finally fading and even noticed that her skin was firmer than ever! What was this magic? She couldn’t believe the results and started sharing it with her friends, family and eventually me. At this point, I had a ton of acne marks and some sunspots scattered across my face that didn’t seem like they were going to fade. As a skincare enthusiast, I thought I tried everything -- retinol, niacinamide, vitamin C, arbutin and all the other skin brightening ingredients that were supposed to fade those spots, but nothing worked better than my aunt’s tamanu oil cream. I needed to share this with the rest of the world. You deserve to know about this. Inspired by her formula, I created Great Barrier Relief, which has faded a lot of my discoloration, strengthened my skin barrier and has made my skin the healthiest it’s ever been. An added bonus, tamanu oil also promotes collagen production so it is a kickass anti-aging product that your mom will love too.” Before & After Results with Great Barrier Relief How long Liah used GBR for: 1 month Liah's E xperience: "I 've been a long time use of tamanu oil itself, and my aunt's tamanu cream formula. But when it comes to evening out the complexion and soothing down my skin, there's nothing like a good pump of Great Barrier Relief. I got some sunspots and my skin sensitivity was out of the roof after my Australia trip. The temperature was around 40 degrees Celsius every day, I was hopping between cities which made my skin barrier really vulnerable and weak. After I got back from my trip, I dropped most products from my routine and focused on truly nourishing my skin and restoring my skin barrier with Great Barrier Relief." Click here to see more before & afters! No more Great Barrier Relief? It’s recycling time, fam! We know how confusing recycling can be, so here’s a basic guide: Step 1: #SkincareCommitment: Use it up and rinse it out. If the serum doesn’t work for you, give it to a friend or family member. That way there’s no waste and it can go to a better home! Step 2: Get the deets. Although generally, Great Barrier Relief is 100% recyclable, in the US, what can and can’t be recycled varies based on the city you live in. Do a quick google search to read up on your city's recycling guide. Step 3: Chuck it in the (recycling) bin. If you checked your location and you’re good to go, it’s time for it to be recycled! If not, look into organizations, like TerraCycle , to help you properly recycle your beauty products. It’s free (!) and all you have to do is gather your empty products together, print a recycling label and ship it out. That’s it! They’ll take care of the rest for you. FYI, here are all the materials used to create Great Barrier Relief. Each number is a resin identification code, which recycling plants use to know what kind of plastic it is and how it should be processed. PET stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate and PP stands for Polypropylene , these are both plastic materials. PAP represents paper/mixed paper/cardboard. Amazing skin soothing serum
Amazing skin soothing serum
One of the best soothing serums ever! Fight me! The Krave - Great Barrier Relief is a skin soothing serum that restores your skin barrier while also evening out your complexion. It’s one of my all time favorite products from Krave Beauty, and I’m pretty sure you all know why. It’s nourishing formula contains so many skin beneficial ingredients such as it’s star 10% tamanu oil, safflower oil, rosehip seed oil, natural moisturizing factors, ceramides, phytosterol, squalane, and niacinamide. These all work in synergy to brighten, repair, and replenish what your skin is currently lacking. This has a lush emollient creamy texture that easily glides and effortlessly sinks into the skin. It leaves behind a slight dewy finish but it’s not greasy or heavy feeling at all. This does have that earthy pungent scent that’s associated with tamanu oil but I quite like it. There aren’t enough words to describe how much I love this serum. I’ve used it in so many times when my skin’s being reactive and sensitive rather it be from an allergic reaction to over exfoliating my skin. It just works and works quickly to help soothe any form of irritation my skin’s feeling. Not only does it soothe, but with consistent use, I’ve seen my skin tone become brighter and more even. That’s thanks to the rosehip seed oil and niacinamide in the formula. It’s also helped diminish the amount of breakouts I get as well as reduced the redness around my cheeks. I would like to say that this would be great for all skin types but there are those who are sensitive to tamanu oil so remember to patch test before trying anything new to reduce the risk of a reaction. Overall, I love this serum and it will be a forever repurchase for me. I’ve already gone through two bottles and plan to repurchase two more to have as backups in case of any skin emergencies. It’s just the best to bring my skin back to normal from any reaction. Feel free to share your thoughts on this below. Do you guys love it as much as I do? Rating: 5/5 🌟 #CherieCreator #KraveBeauty

Wrecked barrier? Ceramides to the rescue!
Wrecked barrier? Ceramides to the rescue!
I think we’ve all been there.... your skin feels dry and tight. It has so much redness and irritation that every product stings your skin. Welcome to an unhappy moisture barrier. But, CERAMIDES TO THE RESCUE! Which product would be best for introducing this miracle ingredient into your skin? The thick and creamy Drunk elephant Lala retro or Krave Beauty’s great barrier relief serum? Keep reading to find out. DE Lala retro claims to be: a rescue cream infused with six rare African oils and a ceramide complex for intense moisture and replenishing barrier support. Krave Beauty GBR: claims to be a skin soothing serum that restores your damaged skin barrier while evening out your complexion. As a gal with super dry and dehydrated, sensitive skin, it is SUPER easy for me to push my skin to the limit and wreck my barrier. I honestly love to keep both of these in my stash, but have been reaching for GBR by Krave much more often. When your skin just cannot retain moisture and is so irritated, I love to opt for the soothing serum. It’s very thin texture soaks right into my skin instead of staying as a greasy film on top of the skin. It also contains olive oil, which is an occlusive, to really lock in the moisture. I will opt for Lala retro, which is a beautiful thick moisturizer, as upkeep and/or when my moisture barrier is finally on the uprise. I believe that both of these have amazing ingredients that will not irritate your skin further. I think that Lala retro may be a bit heavy for oily skin types, but for the most part both of these should work great for all skin types. I highly recommend you keep these in your stash if you use actives, because they are easy to overdo! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Ceramides Krave - Great Barrier Relief

The BEST for redness & irritation!
The BEST for redness & irritation!
Krave Beauty Great Barrier Relief ($28/1.35 oz) What It Is: it is a skin-soothing serum that restores your damaged skin barrier while evening out your complexion. This nourishing formula offers irritated skin a reset button by using tamanu oil and other ingredients that mimic a healthy barrier to replenish what your skin lacks. For: Someone who needs to press reset on their irritated skin (e.g. whose skin is constantly dehydrated, who has constant redness and dry patches, who is sensitive to many skincare products) Skincare Concerns: Dehydration, redness, dryness, damaged skin barrier. Texture: Light Pale Green Cream Consistency. My Experience: This stuff is amazing!!!! I have used it for about 9 months and it is a godsend. It heals the skin overnight like no other. And every time I use it I notice a drastic improvement in my redness, especially my cheeks. My skin tone is more even and my skin feels more balanced. I have used it several ways and love every single one of them. I can use it during the day in placed of my moisturizer and it makes my skin feel healthy and balanced (especially in the winter). At night, I can mixed it or used it last step in my serums step, as my moisturizer or with my moisturizer/sleeping mask, depending on my skin needs at that moment and it just works amazing. I have oily skin, prone to dehydration and redness, and I am completely sure that this product has helped keep my skin balanced and more healthy in general. For sure, I use it when my skin has been compromised but I also notice that works beautiful when my skin needs some TLC. It contains amazing ingredients like tamanu oil, safflower oil, rosehip seed oil, ceramides, squalane , phytosterol, and my fav, niacinamide. It sinks into the skin well and quickly, and has a dewy finish. It smells exactly like tamanu oil. This product is definitely amazing to restore our skin’s protective barrier and it is perfect for the winter. Truly, this is one of the only products that completely helps with my redness and restores my skin when it gets compromised. Also, I it helps with hyperpigmentation. And it is incredible affordable! I am in love with this product and I recommend it to anyone. A must have in my skincare arsenal! Cherie Rating: 5/5 Krave - Great Barrier Relief

I had really high hopes for kr
I had really high hopes for kravebeauty’s Great Barrier Relief the very second it was revealed. If liahyoo’s name is attached to something, you’re going to want to try it. 〰️ If you weren’t aware, GBR is a serum that helps to gently restore your skin’s precious barrier. A poor functioning skin barrier is the culprit behind so many skin issues including dehydration, dryness, rosacea, etc. This product was created to keep your barrier healthy! 〰️ The magical ingredient in this product is tamanu oil. Tamanu oil possesses powerful skin healing properties and was traditionally used to treat wounds and other skin ailments. It also said to help to eliminate hyperpigmentation over time. 〰️ GBR also contains: safflower oil, rosehip seed oil, ceramides, cholesterol, and niacinamide. Together, these ingredients combine to create a beautifully nourishing skin cocktail. It truly does what it sets out to do, which is to protect and heal irritated skin. 〰️ This serum is everything I wanted it to be. The texture is soft and velvety. It is so gentle, yet extremely effective. My texture and tone has noticeably improved over the past several weeks. I adore the scent - it smells really fresh without being overpowering or offensive. I reach for it morning and night. In fact, I’m already about halfway through the bottle. It is well worth $28 and I would gladly repurchase it again. The best part? Every purchase of GBR helps protect the Great Barrier Reef!

Protecting my dry skin
Protecting my dry skin
Products great for your skin barrier! I have dry skin. My skin isn’t the flaky dry unless the conditions are extreme but it’s the so tight I can’t move my face dry even. It doesn’t matter if I use a cleanser or just water it always happens. And when my face gets that dry sometimes products that don’t normally irritate it cause burning. Here are a few of my favorite products that keep my skin moisturized and my skin barrier strong and intact. pixi - Milky Tonic after cleansing when my skin feels particularly dry and tight I like to use this hydrating tonic. It soothes the skin and adds the first of many moisturizers back into the skin Krave - Great Barrier Relief Next I love this product. I don’t use it daily but I use it when my skins barrier has been compromised either from being too dry or from irritation with over exfoliation. It’s so soothing and calming to the skin. REVOLUTION - Cica Cream I was surprised how much I love this cream. Cica is an ingredient in skincare that is wonderful at restoring the skins barrier. This cream is decadently rich. It’s so thick that it’s perfect to top off my routine and keep my moisturizers locked in miss spa - Pep Rally Skin Barrier Repairing Mask I LOVE this mask. It’s not a mask I use daily but I use it when my skin really needs that extra boost. It’s very soothing and cooling and really feels awesome on over exfoliated skin or even sunburnt skin. With copper peptides and vitamin b3 it works at bringing the skin barrier back to life! These are just a few of my favorites! Whether it’s repairing a damaged skin barrier from a product the skin didn’t agree with or keeping dry skin intact and hydrated these all are great picks. They’re all affordable too!
