What is the difference between chemical and physical sunscreens? Chemical sunscreens work like a sponge, absorbing the sun’s rays. They contain one or more of the following ingredients: oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate, and octinoxate. These are often easier to rub into the skin without a white cast. Physical sunscreens (aka mineral sunscreens) act like a shield, sitting on the surface of your skin and deflecting the sun’s rays. These can come on white. Product: Hydratint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen with SPF 36 is a lightweight, tinted sunscreen that contains 8.9% Titanium Dioxide and 3.4% Zinc Oxide. This product is water resistant for about 40 minutes. It’s also paraben-free, cruelty-free, and gluten-free. My thoughts: ✨My aesthetician friend recommended this sunscreen and I absolutely LOVE it! I have extremely sensitive skin and most sunscreens clog my pores and/or cause breakouts, but this lightweight & creamy sunscreen proved otherwise! It glides on so smoothly and has the perfect amount of tint to it, giving me small doses of protection and coverage! ✨Personally, I use it under makeup or when I won’t be under the sun for long periods of time because this sunscreen only provides SPF 36 which isn’t strong enough to protect me from this California sun. ✨I give this product 4/5 stars only because I wish the SPF was 50+ for better protection. Overall, I am satisfied with the product and recommend it.

This is my HOLY GRAIL skincare product! Alastin Hydratint is a tinted mineral sunscreen that I’ve worn every single day for the last two years. It contains an SPF of 36, is filled with antioxidant-rich and hydrating ingredients that make my skin feel as though I only have a moisturizer on. It has a universal tint that blends seamlessly leaving a beautiful glow to the skin! I also love that it is water proof so I can wear it while swimming and it stays put! The color is buildable if you want a little more coverage. While working at a Med Spa, we applied this to every patient before they left our office.
