Enlarged Pores, Acne, Dull Skin?
Enlarged Pores, Acne, Dull Skin?
When it comes to congestion, acne, blackheads, and dullness, there are a lot of tips and a lot of products that promise smooth, clear skin. So let me simplify why I love these three ingredients for this myriad of issues. • Alpha Hydroxy Acid: Glycolic, lactic, citric, tartaric, mandelic, and malic acid melt the intercellular glue that holds dead skin cells together to your skin’s surface, helping along the skin’s natural shedding process to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. They’re considered hydrating, since they love water. AHAs offer mainly surface exfoliation, helping with uneven texture and dullness. • Beta Hydroxy Acid: Salicylic acid is the most common BHA, working similarly to AHAs in that they unglue dead skin cells to renew skin’s appearance. It is also oil-soluble, easily passing through sebum to allow BHAs to get into pores for deep exfoliation and normalization of the pore lining. This helps to reduce and prevent congestion, enlarged pores, and acne. • Niacinamide: A water-soluble precursor to two skin compounds that allow skin to repair damage, function normally, and make new skin cells. Topical application of niacinamide not only soothes current inflammation, but also increases the skin’s ability to neutralize free radicals, preventing future irritation and collagen breakdown, making it an awesome ingredient for aging and/or sensitive skin. Another anti-aging and sensitivity bonus: niacinamide helps increase ceramide production, strengthening the lipid barrier and allowing it to retain moisture more effectively. For acne prone folks, there have been two very promising and substantiating studies that show that 4% Niacinamide applied twice daily is as effective for moderate acne as 1% clindamycin. That’s impressive! As well, niacinamide application inhibits oil production, contributing to its skill for keeping pores minimized in appearance as well as reducing acne.

Unclog Your Pores with BHA!
Unclog Your Pores with BHA!
THE inkey LIST - Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) Blemish + Blackhead Serum What exactly is BHA? ✨BHA, also known as salicylic acid, is a gentle exfoliant that works to unclog pores by removing dead and dehydrated skin cells. These skin cells can make your pores look larger and no one wants that! Those pesky skin cells can also cause break outs. Salicylic acid is great because it has anti inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Who should use this? ✨ This is a great choice if you have oily or blemish-prone skin. I have normal skin, but I used to have excess oil around my nose and I no longer do. I’m also not prone to blemishes or blackheads but like to use this as more of a preventative measure and love the idea of shrinking my pores. While my pores aren’t bad right now but what’s the harm in keeping them that way? So why is BHA great? ✨ Unclogs pores ✨ Fights breakouts ✨ Removes blackheads ✨ minimizes excess oil I find this serum quite gentle, which is nice. It’s clear in colour and very light weight. It’s not oily and I find it doesn’t take too long to absorb into the skin. I love this because it has hyaluronic acid, which makes it hydrating. This product can be applied in the AM or PM on cleansed skin. I add 2 drops but you can use as many or as few as you want :) I then follow with whichever serums/moisturizers I’m using that day, and of course SPF. I find I pair this with hyaluronic acid. Recommend this 100%

The Inkey List BHA Serum
The Inkey List Beta Hydroxy Acid Blemish + Blackhead Serum is a salicylic acid-based serum for normal, combo, and oily skin mean to exfoliate beneath the surface of skin to help unclog pores, target blackheads, and reduce excess oil. The texture of this serum is a VERY lightweight liquid, with a very watery consistency that blends and absorbs like a dream. This serum is a must have for anyone with acne prone skin. The BHA penetrates deep into the skin to unclog pores and clean them out, which helps to treat pimples and inflammation. It also clears the gunk out of your nose to treat blackheads, so it really does it all when it comes to impurities on the face! I absolutely love this serum, and use it every day (and have been ever since this brand launched this last summer!) It’s perfect for day or night usage, and plays well with other serums as it doesn’t pill. The thin texture is my favorite part about this product, since I feel like it really penetrates deeply. It helps prevent pimples on my skin and reduces inflammation on whatever is already active on my face, so this is a staple in my routine. Clearly it’s a well loved product for me, as you can see how destroyed my bottle of it is! This product is so worth it, I can’t even explain. It’s SO inexpensive — only 10 bucks — and works so well. I would very much recommend this to girls with oily t zones or acne/blackhead prone skin. This is a 5 star product for me for sure! Forever repurchase! Inkey List BHA Serum-For Acne
What is it? A BHA serum that is targeted to unclog pores, target blackheads, and reduce oiliness. It has 2% salicylic acid (BHA), zinc salt compound 1%, and hyaluronic acid 1%. It is marketed as suitable for normal, combo, and oily skintypes. It has a lightweight liquid consistency, slightly watery but absorbs in the skin nicely. My thoughts 💭 I have only had this serum for about a month, but I have been using every other day to see if it is worth repurchasing. I have acne combo skin so I needed to start implementing a BHA directly into my skin routine. So far I do like this product, I do think it has helped my blackheads and control excess oil. It hasn’t helped any big breakouts closed comedones. Final takeaways 🗣 This product is an affordable product that is meant for acne and oil control. It is 1oz for $10.99, so for the price you can’t beat it. I do recommend this product since I have seen a slight change in blackheads, but I will continue repurchasing to see if it makes a difference in the amount of breakouts total. I think for the price it is worth trying for yourself 😊 THE inkey LIST - Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) Blemish + Blackhead Serum

products up on the box shelf that i thought i’d share! ✨the inkey list polyglutamic acid: if you love hyaluronic acid, meet this bad boy. PGA holds four times more moisture than hyaluronic acid, which is insane. i use this after serums (locks them all in) but before moisturizer. ✨the inkey list BHA: this is an exfoliant that’s great for knocking out excess oil/blackheads. it’s super strong and i wouldn’t recommend daily use. i’m specifically using this only on my chin, since that’s where i typically get congested pores. ✨drunk elephant d-bronzi: i mix in 1-2 drops with my moisturizer OR i’ve just been using a brush and using this as a liquid bronzer. i rarely wear makeup and this is an amazing alternative to traditional powder bronzer.
