Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 1
Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 1
Hey y’all! In today’s post I’ll be reviewing my followers skincare routines! I went through some of y’all’s accounts in search of some routines, then messaged everyone to make sure they were okay with me using their routines in this post! This is only pt. 1 because this post got wayyy to long to include everyone at once! Let me start by saying I’m not an esthetician or dermatologist, nor have I ever claimed to be. I am just a fellow skincare lover who knows a lot about ingredients in skincare. We’re starting off with @Chloe_McRae. Sometimes she decides to double cleanse, and when she does she starts with the#Holifrog - Kissimmee Vitamin F Therapy Balmy Wash[products]#[FourStars] which is $42 for 2.5 fl oz. This has a ton of great hydrating oils, as well as Vitamin F, which is great for helping cell turnover. I would say it’s a great first cleanse for those with dry skin. Next she uses theDRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample which is $32. I would say this is a good cleanser. The cleansing agents are gentle and non stripping, and it also has glycerin which is hydrating, and cantaloupe fruit extract which is a hydrating extract full of antioxidants. Other than that, this is a pretty basic cleanser. Next she uses the HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial l which is $58. Because the name is confusing, it’s a gel face mask. This stuff looks gorgeous and the ingredients are too. Along with AHA and BHA, it has aloe and rose water which help your skin to retain moisture. I don’t think it’s worth $58, but it’s pretty good. Next is the PEACH & LILY - Wild Dew Treatment Essence which is $39 for 3.38 fl oz. This essence has glycerin, Nicinamide, and Hylaronic acid. For $39 I expected a lot more. In general, essence is less effective than a serum, so this seems a little expensive for what you get. Then comes theDRUNK ELEPHANT - Sweet Biome Fermented Sake Hydrating Spray which is $42. Yes, $42 for a face mist. Now looking at the ingredients this has glycerin and a small amount of Hylaronic acid. The rest of the ingredients are extracts. Thankfully there isn’t fragrance, but this is a no because it’s so expensive. And finally is the COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid which is $24. Really this has some Willow water and Nicinamide and that’s it. Okay I freaked out at this point. Nowhere in this routine is sunscreen or moisturizer!!! Nooooo!! We need less acids and more of the basics. Overall I’d say this routine has too many steps. I think you could simplify down to a double cleanse, a cheap but good serum with Hylaronic acid and Nicinamide which seem to be the ingredients that work well for your skin, and the a moisturizer and some spf. Our next routine comes from @WillWorkforMascara. She starts her routine with theCeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin w is $17. This product is great for oily skin, which she has. It has glycerin, nicinamide, and Hylaronic acid so it’s super hydrating. Next she usesThe Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution witch is $8.70. Along with glycolic acid, it has aloe vera water and glycerin. Some people think it’s overly stripping, but for oily skin its great. Now this is where this routine becomes international. She goes in with theMUJI - Boosting Essence Lotion which is $7 for 50 ml. This essence has aloe vera juice and glycerin. It does have quite a bit of fragrance though which makes it a no from me. Next she goes in with the#Pearlessence - Argan Oil + Vitamin E facial oil[products]#[ThreeStars] which is $11.89 for 1.83 fl oz. This product has two ingredients. Vitamin E and Argan oil. Now this is where we really go international. #Human Nature - Sunflower Eye Cream[products]#[TwoStars] and found out that 295 Cuban Peso is $12.29. Now as for the ingredients this eye cream has sunflower oil and glycerin. And fragrance. Fragrance can especially be irritating around the eye area so this is another no. Instead try some thing likeTHE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream She also uses a eyebrow and eyelash oil called Peach Thy Lash which is 150 Cuban Peso or $6.25. I don’t know anything about this kind of product so I can’t really say if it works. And finally is theLANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask which is $22. This mask has Vitamin C, Hylaronic acid, and glycerin. It seems good to me, but this sort of product is more about the experience, and I haven’t tried it. Again! We need moisturizer and sunscreen! This one also has too many steps so let’s simplify it to cleanser, toner, moisturizer, sunscreen, eyelash oil, and lip mask. Unfortunately this post would be super long if I included everyone, so look out for pt. 2 coming soon! Please cheer for this post if you liked it, comment below your holy grail skincare products, and follow me to join the family and for similar content! -Mae

Caffeine eye serum needs more perk!
Caffeine eye serum needs more perk!
The Inkey List Caffeine Eye Serum is an eye cream that claims to hydrate the eye area and reduce the appearance of puffiness, fine lines, and bags. It contains featured ingredients like caffeine to depuff and Matrixyl 3000, a peptide, to reduce the look of wrinkles. It has the light weight texture of a water-cream. It is not thick, but not too runny either. Upon application, it sinks into the skin really easily with a gentle patting motion, which is ideal for the delicate eye area. I like that this eye cream has a refreshing, cooling sensation upon application. It is gentle on the eyes and has never made my sensitive eyes feel irritated or watery. It also hydrates nicely and helps to plump up my fine lines immediately after application. BUT I don’t find this hydration to be long lasting at all. The effect on the lines is not long lasting either. Within 2 hours my undereyes feel dry again. While it is a nice, thin base especially under concealer, it just does not provide me with enough hydration to last throughout the day. I also don’t notice any of the depuffing effects as claimed. I think this cream would be great for someone who does not have a super dry under-eye area and is looking for a simple, gentle eye cream. It is only $10 so it comes at a very affordable price point. I think this would be well suited to someone in their 20s, but it is not effective enough for those who are 30+ like me. I will continue to use the product in conjunction with a thicker cream or oil on top, however I won’t be repurchasing this one for myself. THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream

✨Current morning routine ☀️✨
✨Current morning routine ☀️✨
This is my fall/winter skin routine, it’s not as moisturizing as a lot of others people’s routines (but I’m indoors a lot more so my biggest concern is dry air versus cold dry air, and maskne) THE inkey LIST - Polyglutamic Acid Hydrating Serum Recently, I learned of the benefits of polyglutamic acid and figured why not try it out. Apart from the strong chemical smell. I love the foundation it creates for my face, leaving it ever so slight tacky making it much easier to add on other products without that built up feeling. It’s been a couple months and I have noticed a different in the softness of my face and just so you know, it’s perfectly fine to use with hyaluronic acid! COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence After my foundation, I go on to add the revered snail mucin, no need to rave about this. You must already know if you’re here haha. THE inkey LIST - Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) Blemish + Blackhead Serum My newest holy grail. It has reduced the appearance of the clogged pores on my nose. And let me tell you I have so many of them. From blackheads to keratin plugs. I totally believe everyone should have a bha serum of any sort in their routine! PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I go over all of the previous products with 2 of my favorite niacinamide products, niacinamide helps with a multitude of ailments, from hyperpigmentation/scarring to pore care. It’s definitely helped with certain areas of my face. THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream I know the cream isn’t going to stay put only on my eye area and usually I avoid eye creams all together but recently I have been interested in trying out different eye creams, I do enjoy this one. Although I have not really seem much of a difference in the way my eyes look haha THE BETTER SKIN CO. - Better Skin Mirakle Cream To seal it all in, a good fragrance free moisturizer.

THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream Why I like the Inkeylist caffeine eye cream: ✔️ Lightweight texture blends very easily ✔️ Hydrating ✔️ Can help reduce puffiness ✔️ Antioxidant ingredients help fight off free radicals from the sun and pollution ✔️ Can help improve the appearance of dark circles ✔️ Fragrance free- no smell to it! ✔️ Affordable ✨ It is one of my favorite go-to eye creams because of the caffeine which really helps with my puffy eyes in the morning and has helped with my dark circles. I also really like that it blends in easily, is fragrance free, and affordable. I like using this once a day in the morning but this can be used twice a day. I like using it in the mornings because it really helps with my puffy eyes (which is worse in the morning for me!). I notice an immediate effect on the puffiness around my eyes. It took a few weeks to notice the improvement on my dark circles. What do you think about this eye cream? Comment below!

SKIN CARE FOR HOW MUCH😱🤩?!?
SKIN CARE FOR HOW MUCH😱🤩?!?
Just like The Ordinary, here we are with another affordable skin care brand!!! Are you excited??? 🤩 If you live in Canada like me, you can find The Inkey List in your local Shoppers Drug Mart and if you’re from the UK (also like me) you can find it at any Boots or Superdrug. In Ontario these products range between $8-13.... which is a steal if you’re used to throwing a lot of bread at Sephora💸🤦🏻‍♀️ I have been using these three for a month now and am in love the Collagen Booster and Polyglutamic Acid. Unfortunately the Caffeine Aye Cream was a huge let down for me (Stay Tuned for Why). x Collagen Booster Face Serum (30ml) A natural skin protein that helps the skin keep its firmness, suppleness and elasticity while also reducing redness, fine lines, wrinkles and pores. I LOVE this serum... it truly is worth the shot!! My face has never felt so bouncy yet firm at the same time... if you know what I mean? I use this straight after I have cleansed and toned my face making sure that I distribute the serum all around my face/neck and then pat into the skin for full benefits! YOUR SKIN IS A SPONGE LADIES🧽 x Polyglutamic Acid (30ml) Polyglutamic Acid is naturally found in the skins layers, which aids to maintain the skins moisture levels. It is also known to hold up to 4x more moisture that hyaluronic acid ... YES you heard me right!!! I never knew the benefits of this until I put it on my face! My face usually looks greasy after face oils and moisturizer, but this little guy truly change that for me😍😍😍As directed on the bottle, I use this after my serums to lock all the good stuff into my skin before I moisturizer... oh my ladies does this ever penetrate the skin! My face has never felt so soft and supple before these two lovely products! For the price you cannot knock it! x Caffeine Eye Cream (15ml) This product isn’t worth the price considering that Caffeine is listed as ingredient number 12... puffiness and dark circles are still the same! If you are looking for a better product that does the trick of making you look alive when you really aren’t? Well then head on over to The Ordinary!!! The Caffeine Eye Solution 5% + EGCG is $6.70 and you get TWICE THE FORMULA FOR HALF THE PRICE!!!

The Inkey List Caffeine Eye Cream Review
The Inkey List Caffeine Eye Cream Review
☕️ A cup of Joe to start the day (I actually woke up at around 11 😏 'tis a good day). ☕️ I have been using @theinkeylist caffeine eye cream ever since I bought it during the @sephora VIB sale. I have been quite enjoying this cream! The consistency of it is more serum-like in that it feels quite more like a gel-cream rather than thick rich eye creams, which is what I look for in eye creams. On the Sephora website, this eye cream claims to “work wonders for the under-eye area” by assisting with de-puffing and brightening dark circles. It contains caffeine (of course) to combat puffiness, beautifeye (which is trademarked) to help with dark circles, and matrixyl 3000 (also trademarked) peptide to help support collagen production. I looked this product up on the cosdna website and it didn’t have any red flags or any ingredients that would cause acne or irritations which is a plus since I am very prone to milia around the under-eye area. I haven’t been using it for too long (about 4 days) but I absolutely love it. During that time of the month, my eye bags become seriously puffy as well as my lips. It’s pretty noticeable so my mom always points out that I started my period, just by looking at my eyes 😩. I started using this in the morning and it feels so good to just massage it into the under-eye area. It absorbs really well and the consistency is similar to the it’s skin eye creams that I love so much. It was hydrating and I definitely felt the cooling sensation calm down the puffiness. It didn’t make it completely go away but it just felt nice and I really enjoyed the feeling. I definitely think that this eye cream is worth the money because it was like $10 for 15 ml. 15ml is not a lot but I mean, it's for your under-eyes, you don’t need a lot of product there. I have a feeling I might repurchase this because I just the feeling it leaves. 5/5 recommend! A+++++! PS the last pic is just for my own giggles 😋 This was my second product from this brand and I definitely need to try more. What are your experiences with this brand? Any favorites?THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream
