N e w b i e theinkeylist Retinol Serum Retinol seems to be the only thing that can keep my acne at bay. Skin has been wild lately without it and I've just introduced this serum into my routine. This particular serum is 1% stable retinol and 0.5% granactive retinoid with Squalane for hydration and nourishment. My thoughts on the serum, it's a lightweight formula that absorbs quickly, doesn't leave any stickiness, oiliness and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry. I get no irritation from using this and it's really helped speed up the process of bringing my cystic/nodule pimples to a head. For those who aren't sure what retinol/retinoids do, here's a brief summary 👇🏻 Retinoids and Retinol are derivatives of vitamin A and have been proven to boost collagen production thus reducing fine lines and wrinkles, speeds up cell turnover helping battle hyperpigmentation, soothing inflammation, rosacea and keeps acne at bay.

Must-Have Serums from The INKEY List
Skin Concerns: Dullness, Wrinkles, Hyperpigmentation, Dryness, Textured Skin, Oily Skin, Enlarged Pores The INKEY List is a skin care brand that has been recently popularized due to its amazing ingredients and affordability. The INKEY List invests in their products and less on its marketing campaigns, which allows for better ingredients to be put into their skin care line. There is a diverse range of products that you can choose from the brand, but it can get a little tricky figuring out what should you be using for your skin based on your concerns. Here are my top must-haves for people who are interested in trying out some products but don’t know what to choose. My choices were influenced by reading numerous reviews and self-research about each product. The hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and retinol serums are my favorite serums from this line. They are also great for people who are beginning their skincare journey and are literally the gentlest of their kind. Hyaluronic Acid ($7.99) keeps your skin hydrated throughout the day. I like to apply this after cleansing my skin (while my face is damp) in the morning and evening. The hyaluronic acid serum has kept my face smooth during the winter months, which is when I’ll usually experience flaky skin and dry patches. Retinol ($9.99) is a popular ingredient (best suited for ages 25+) used to reduce the signs of aging such as wrinkles, dark spots, dullness, and textured skin. Niacinamide ($6.99) is great for oil control and keeping acne at bay. I use both the niacinamide and retinol serums together in the evening after cleansing. In conjunction, they work tremendously together and I have noticed a more even texture of my skin, diminished dark spots from on my cheek from acne scars, and reduced fine lines around eyes and smile lines. My pores looks cleaner too! I am on my second bottle of the retinol serum and I will definitely be repurchasing it again. For the results that I’ve seen from using these products and the price point, it’s definitely worth checking out The INKEY List. It’ll save your skin and save your bank account. #cheriepartner #sponsored #theINKEYList #niacinamide #retinol #hyaluronicacid #bestserums

I've tried two serums for two weeks and this is what happened...🤔
Recently, I have been using The Night Time Renewal Set I bought from Sephora. It includes two pure serums: One is retinol for anti-aging and the other one is a polyglutamic acid serum for a moisturizing effect. Below I'm going to share how I've been using them and the feeling after using them for around two weeks now. THE inkey LIST - Retinol Anti-Aging Serum Directions: At night, I'll squeeze a soybean-sized amount of the serum and pat it evenly onto my face after cleansing and using a toner, then I'll continue with my skin care routine, including applying a serum and a face cream. In simpler words, I'm just adding this retinol serum in between my water and serum skin care routine. Feeling: It has a brownish-yellow, sticky texture and it's scent-free. Retinol is also known as vitamin A. It eliminates free radicals to prevent collagen degradation, accelerate the regeneration of elastic fibers, and slow down the development of wrinkles to achieve an anti-aging effect. However, after using it for two weeks, I haven't seen any obvious results😔, so I'm going to stop using it for a while after I finish the bottle and maybe start using it after another half year. THE inkey LIST - Polyglutamic Acid Hydrating Serum(for moisturizing) Polyglutamic acid focuses on moisturizing and it has the ability of keeping 8 to 10 times more water on our skin compared with hyaluronic acid, so it's known as the best moisturizing ingredient in skin care products. Directions: I also add this serum in between my usual toner and serum skin care routine. Recently, I've been using both retinol and polyglutamic acid together also by squeezing a soybean-sized amount of the serum and patting it evenly onto my face. Feeling: This polyglutamic acid serum has a murky transparent gel-like texture and it's scent-free. It doesn't dry up my skin, and it leaves my skin supple, so I've decided to purchase a bottle every winter. I love it!😘

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
