Do the seasons affect your skin?
Do the seasons affect your skin?
With a change in season comes a different temperature, humidity, wind and UV exposure which can all affect changes which the body needs to adapt to. It makes sense that as the weather changes outside your skin will react differently to it. With lower humidity— what we experience during the cold winter months—our skin’s moisture levels can drop drastically and dryness and a dull skin tone can set in. So what can we do? In general skin tends to be dryer in the winter, oilier (or at least less dry) in the summer. Extremes of temperatures and humidity disrupt the surface of the skin and cause changes in the function of the external skin barrier. After you have found a core skin routine that works for you, it is easier to adapt it to how your skin changes throughout the year. In drier seasons like autumn and winter, make a move to a more hydrating cleanser or balm. You will want to focus on hydration since the low-humidity climate during this time of year can dry out skin and the best place to start is with the first step of your skin care routine. Dermatologists also advise to tone less or even discontinue completely. Whether you have dry skin in the winter, oily skin when the humidity sky rockets, or normal skin year-round, the one thing your skin care routine needs is a hydrating moisturizer. Not moisturizing your skin you risk stripping your skin of oh-so important hydration , which causes overproduction of oils and a gross build up of dead skin cells on your face. When you start seeing the advertisements for everything pumpkin 🎃 spice (yum), Now is the time to pack away the lighter formulas and reach for the more emollient products focused on hydration and to find ways to combat visible evidence of any sun damage that may have occurred over the summer. The best part, most of the skin care routine changes you’ll make for the fall will last you through winter as well! Don’t forget your body!! Apply moisturizer within 60 seconds of coming out of the shower and look for ingredients like glycerin, ceramides and hyaluronic acid. 💦 The biggest thing is pay close attention to your skin. It will start to tell you what it needs and just make sure to adjust accordingly 🍁 Some great moisturizers I recommend for the fall and winter. Cetaphil - DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30 is a good one for oily skin. Jumiso - Have A Good Cream Snail & Centella also for normal to oily skin. boscia - Chia Seed Moisture Cream for dry skin PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream normal to dry. Happy Fall Y’all 🎃🍁

Boscia just gifted me their minis and I can confirm that I have use all 3 products before. boscia - Indigo Eye Cream -this eye cream works better for dar circles and is best used at night. boscia - Chia Seed Moisture Cream -Even though I have oily skin, this cream is 🔥 what I love is that you can use it on your face, and body. Has a thick consistency and feels oily at first but eventually dries down. boscia - Peptide Trio Eye Cream - I used this one at morning and night. Leaves under eye feeling hydrated and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. I have seen a difference as I have been using this eye cream for a few months now.

💕💦 Renew & Hydrate

I am more than half-way through these beauties and will be sad once empty! boscia - Resurfacing Treatment Tonergently resurfaces and exfoliates the skin with AHA's, BHA's, & Apple Cider Vinegar while also nourishing the skin with a formulation of Boscia's signature blend of Willow Herbs, and Jojoba Leaf. boscia - Chia Seed Moisture Cream is a rich, thick, and creamy product and it keeps my skin so hydrated and well-balanced. Both have been the perfect duo for my night time routines especially, during these colder, drier nights. Boscia is one of those OG brands that I've loved since the very beginning and I can fully trust their products to keep my skin healthy and happy. Every single product I've tried from them so far has been gentle and great to my skin and I have always been and will always remain a complete fan. Do you have any brands where they keep doing you good? *Products gifted without any obligation to post or review. All thoughts are mine and mine only.

Chia seed moisturizer
what is it: super rich cream moisturizer that instantly provides deep hydration and locks in moisture for soft, supple skin. concerns: dry skin, fine lines & wrinkles, redness, loss of elasticity my thoughts: my skin is naturally more oily, so I don’t really need a moisturizer this thick and creamy. however, I think dry skin types would love this. It’s made with chia seed oil, which prevents dehydration and locks in moisture & glacier water which improves smoothness, moisture balance, and suppleness. It smells super nice and spreads easily, being a thick cream. It almost melts into your skin. I just felt like it made me more oily. Would be great for the winter and cold months! I would recommend for dry skin types, but oily should be cautious. I think there are definitely better products out there for oily/combo skin types! It sells for $38, which I think is worth it for the how much product you receive.
