✨New Beauty Buys-Ole Henriksen PHAT: Worth it?
✨New Beauty Buys-Ole Henriksen PHAT: Worth it?
I recently got this new face mask that works like a facial, with potent PHAs and Nordic birch sap to exfoliate by @olehenriksen ✨OLE HENRIKSEN - PHAT Glow Facial Mask It's really an interesting mask that works similar to @theordinary's AHA BHA peeling solution, but has Polyhydroxy Acid in it. It's an exfoliating mask that works instantly without causing any irritation or burning at all. I really liked this mask because you can keep it on for 15-20 mins and watch the pink color turn into white then wash it off. This mask doesn't sting or burn but does that exfoliation and gives a glow. It works amazing for my any skin type, I have oily/combination and Acne prone skin and it works great for me. The texture is of this mask very unique. It's goopy and stringy. Unlike clay masks, it's a thick creamy texture that glides on face like gum and washes off without any mess. I am enjoying using this because it gives me results instantly. It is great for dull skin, uneven skin tone and texture, Dark Spots, Fine lines and Wrinkles, Pores, and Dryness. ✨It has : Highlighted Ingredients: - Polyhydroxy Acids (PHAs): A gentler alternative to AHAs that help even skin tone and texture through chemical exfoliation. - Nordic Birch Sap: Helps hydrate and nourish skin. - Pink Bentonite Clay: Helps clarify and renew. My experience: -Instantly brightens skin and makes it feel smooth and soft -Improves dark spots / hyperpigmentation -Doesn't irritate skin, doesn't sting or burn -Very gentle on Sensitive skin and works similar to AHA BHA masks. The only downside of this product is the price, It's 50$ for 1.7 fl.oz / 50 mL of product which in my opinion is quite expensive. The amount we get is very minimum and it's not going to last you more than 10 uses. You can get better exfoliating masks or solutions at quarter of the price and they work the exact same. Although I truly liked this product I won't be repurchasing it frequently.

Exfoliation 101 - Let's burst some myths!
Exfoliation 101 - Let's burst some myths!
Let's get to know about exfoliants more! No matter if you're a skincare junkie, expert or just a beginner, skin exfoliation can be very tricky and confusing and most of the mainstream skin advices can be minimally backed by science and geared towards selling the product or giving you false information. That's how skincare myths are formed. I'm talking about some pretty known myths about Exfoliation : ✨Like, Physical exfoliants/scrubs are bad for your skin and they cause micro-tears that lead to infection or they're worse than Chemical exfoliants: Physical exfoliants that contain irregular granular sizes and shapes are definitely going to irritate your skin. But if you're a well-experienced skincare person or someone who knows how to handle gentle, small granular exfoliants well like professionals, in such hands it can be a very effective. Take Micro-dermabrasion or Dermaplaning for instance. If you haven't done it before it's likely to cause you some irritation, I wouldn't say damage as it's a truly strong and deep term to use. Our skin can naturally heal itself to a large degree, that self-healing capability can be overstressed with exogenous (outside/physical) factors and sometimes Indogenous (inner) factors such as your ethnicity, genetics and some skin conditions like dermititis, rosacea or psoriasis. So, my point here is, the myth that only physical exfoliators cause any damage to our skin is incorrect. On top of that, physical exfoliants cause micro-tears is a far stretched myth that doesn't have enough scientific evidence to support. The thing about it is anything harsh on our skin is going to cause inflammation and redness but chemical exfoliants can cause the same if done too much. For our skin to break or tear and get a cut there needs to be a lot of pressure and sharpness to the object. The scrubs don't necessarily tear/cut our skin unless you're rubbing it too harsh or with a lot of pressure and over-doing it. Chemical exfoliators can overstress and irritate our skin at the same degree as well, if overdone. Damage is a strong word for any skincare regimen that is backed by science. It's a fairly vast topic to discuss here but here's the crux of the topic that I'm trying to highlight. Not over-exfoliating is the only key to keep our skin healthy and non-irritated. Be it physical or chemical exfoliants. We need some of the dead skin cells on our Stratum Corneum. Meaning, we should let our Stratum Corneum have a layer of some dead skin cells along with it's biome. The diverse yet integrated functions of the SC collectively serve to detect, protect, respond, and/or adapt against several exogenous factors. Now, why I like or majority of people like chemical exfoliants is because they seem to be hustle free, you apply a thin layer and leave it overnight or for few minutes and it thins down our Stratum Corneum that is the deal skin cells on our skin as well as penetrates deeper in skin and decongests it. But for many people chemical exfoliants can be quite intimidating and if they like to do manual Exfoliation it's totally fine as long as they're not putting a lot of pressure and overdoing it. ✔️👍 I like both physical and chemical exfoliation. I use these chemical facial peeling solutions or masks as well as gentle scrubs to take care of my dead skin. These are some of the exfoliators I use. These are all types of exfoliators, Physical - Scrubs, Peeling gels Chemical - Facial AHA, BHA masks, solutions, in shower facials These are the ones I don't find so attractive for the price: Scrubs: 1. @avantskincare Gentle Rose beautifying facial exfoliant 114$avant - Gentle Rose Beautifying Face Exfoliant The ones I like: Scrubs: 1. @skinandco Face gommage 26$SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Gommage Peeling gels: 1. @wishfulskin Yo Glow enzyme scurb 39$HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub 2. @saturdayskin Rub-a-dub Refining peel gel 28$SATURDAY SKIN - Rub-A-Dub Refining Peel Gel Instant Facial masks/solutions: 1. @theordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution 7.20$The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution 2. @olehenriksen PHAT Glow Facial™ Mask 50$OLE HENRIKSEN - PHAT Glow Facial Mask 3. @aveeno POSITIVELY RADIANT® 60 Second In-Shower Facial Aveeno - Positively Radiant 60 Second In-Shower Facial Cleanser

I discovered this brand after watching one of my favorite youtubers (Samantha Ravndahl) talk about their Glow2OH toner helping her skin texture (she has acne and acne scarring). Honestly I wasn’t planning on buying more than that from the brand until they started releasing more and more products I was interested in trying! Let’s get into that more... Products I’ll be reviewing: PHAT Glow Facial Balancing Force Oil Control Toner Force of Nurture Hand Cream OLE HENRIKSEN - PHAT Glow Facial Mask My freaking fave. So, backstory: I was previously forcing myself to use Drunk Elephant’s Babyfacial every week. For months. Now, I have very sensitive skin that has rosacea and is acne prone. I have uneven skin texture from acne scarring. Babyfacial was pretty much made for me right? Wrong. It destroyed my skin barrier. But that’s another tale for another day. At this point I had given up on chemical exfoliating masks. Until OH’s Black Friday sale...I impulsively picked this up and I’m SO GLAD I did! It’s a gentler formula than Babyfacial, using PHAs instead of BHAs and AHAs—but honestly it does an even better job and destroying my blackheads and sebaceous filaments! Get this too—it doesn’t trigger my rosacea AT ALL. Zero redness! That’s literally insane to me. It does contain a bit of fragrance but tbh it doesn’t bother my skin at all. $50 for 1.7oz is awesome. When I run out of this I will be so sad! #OLEHENRIKSEN - Balancing Force Oil Control Toner[products]#[OneStar] Ahh, I wanted to love this so badly. Then I realized my skin type is 0% suited for this product. Nowadays I have combination dry skin (even though I was only using this on my nose which is oily) and it was causing my skin to flake from dryness. I want to also mention it might be a sensitivity I have to essential oils (this one tingles your skin as it contains eucalyptus and peppermint oil). Since then, I have switched to the Paula’s Choice BHA liquid and it is much better suited to my needs. I’m happy I got a sample size of this before purchasing, as it’s $29 for 6.5oz—not bad, but it would feel wasteful for me to throw away that much product. OLE HENRIKSEN - Force of Nurture Intensive Hand Creme This hand cream is my winter lizard hand savior! I prefer to use this throughout the day and a heavier cream at night. I am very sad because this has been discontinued. It does contain a bit of fragrance but the kpagnan butter in it cancels it out, I swear! My hands have never felt so soft after using it. I stocked up on it while it was on sale, but being discontinued I’m very sad and will try to find another kpangnan butter equivalent when I run out. Have you tried anything from OH? What are your faves and hates?

Do you know PHA: chemical exfoliator? 🤓
Do you know PHA: chemical exfoliator? 🤓
Most of you guys know what is AHA and BHA but rarely knows about PHA. Today I would like to talk about gentle and alternative acid that also helps my skin glowing and age flighting. This is PHAT Glow facial instantly exfoliates & illumiates facial mask. Main ingredients: PHAs or Polyhydroxy acids, Nordic birch sap and Pink clay PHAs acts as the top of skin surface gentle peeling or exfoliating skin to help even skin tone, while Nordic birch sap and Pick clay helps nourish and clarify the skin. Texture and how to use: It is thick and sticky brick pink color. Apply on dry face and massage the product until it changes from brick pink color to white and leave it on for 15 mins. Use slightly wet warm towel to remove it out. Suggest use twice a week and make sure you put sunscreen everyday. How I feel: My skin love this product more than any other Physical or chemical exfoliator. I’m so happy I know this product and I want to try more product that contain PHA as an ingredient. I think this is the best way to exfoliate my sensitive skin and it doesn’t broke my skin out or it doesn’t made my skin irritate or redness after use it. My skin looks healthy, smooth and glow. Price: $49/ 1.7 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 highly recommended for sensitive skin who looking for gentle peeling or exfoliating facial mask. OLE HENRIKSEN - PHAT Glow Facial Mask

I received the OLE HENRIKSEN - PHAT Glow Facial Maskin my September boxycharm and was so excited because this was a variation product. I had been wanting to try this product since it was released but couldn’t bring myself to pay $50 for it (and thankfully I didn’t lol) This facial mask promises “flawless skin in a flash with PHAs, the no-downtime exfoliating acid and key ingredient in Ole’s first one-step at-home facial.” This product contains: Polyhydroxy Acids (PHAs) Nordic Birch Sap Pink Bentonite Clay This mask is free of sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, phthalates, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarban, and is vegan and cruelty free. I used it the other night after doing a patch test on my wrist, as always, and the results were great. My skin looked good and the following morning I woke up with it looking even better. I will continue to use this product as soon as I’m through with my HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial, I can’t use too many different chemical exfoliants at once.
