I’ve suffered from eczema for as long as I can remember, and as I’ve gotten older, my more eczema prone areas have shifted from between my knees and elbows to my hands, which makes doing chores around the house, work and simple daily tasks incredibly difficult! A friend recommend this restorative cream from Avene, and it’s been a miracle worker! I’ve seen results in as little as a few days, and has seriously helped with healing it quickly! Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream I picked this up in Germany after reading that it’s amazing for dry, cracking skin and could be applied even on the face. I like to use this as a night time moisturizer since my face is so stinking dry in the winter. This really helps my skin to stay hydrated and smooth. French skincare is the best.

Sensitive skin heaven!
Sensitive skin heaven!
I’m getting dressed up to go to work, the big meeting is in a couple of hours, and suddenly I notice a big rash on the side of my neck or my cleavage. I freeze in my tracks and hope to God it disappears by the time I open my eyes again. This happens to me since I can remember. Redness and irritation on my neck, face, arms, pretty much everywhere that can occur out of nowhere. I’ve pretty much tried everything to get rid of it, and some products worked more than others. However, ever since I tried this combo from Avene, I’m as happy as I could be as my redness is gone in a matter of less than an hour. I start with the spring water and follow up with Cicalfate. What I like best about each of them, compared to other products for sensitive skin I used in the past: Avene Thermal Spring Water for sensitive skin It’s refreshing, a fine, gentle mist, and perfect to use before or after makeup. It is diffused evenly from the bottle, so I can use it even to cool down during the hot months of the year. More than this, I’ve noticed it holds makeup together nicely, so I don’t need to worry about everything running down my face, which is absolutely amazing. It has no scent, but this is fine with me, I love fragrance, but my sensitive skin can react badly to it. Cicalfate Repair Cream for sensitive irritated cream It’s a funny story with Cicalfate! The cream was recommended by my pharmacist to use on my daughter’s nappy rash. It worked its magic, so I decided to take it to the next level and try it on my irritation, too, one day when I was out of options. It worked! Yay! Since then, I started using it regularly. The price is fair, doesn’t break the bank, and the texture is ok too. It is moisturizing and emollient enough to spread it easily, but it does feel like it leaves a protective layer on the skin. I’ve noticed that when I apply a generous amount, it can leave white marks on the skin, so don’t rush out after using it. I apply it in colder months during the day when I go out and the rest of the time only in the evenings.

My AVÈNE collection! Must-buy and Black-list
My AVÈNE collection! Must-buy and Black-list
There was a period of time where my skin went through serious allergies. Redness on both of my cheeks and my t-zone was dotted with pimples and acne. I was suggested with the brand AVÈNE by the dermatologist because of its excellent reputation for sensitive skin. Some products are my lifesavers and really help me get through a tough time. But not all of them are suitable for me.  The recommend👑:  Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream: Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream This is the first product I tried from AVÈNE and is also the reason why I stick with the brand afterward. This product is dedicated to quick repair of skin problems caused by irritations. The texture is relatively thick and oily, and need some time to be fully absorbed. However, the effect is unbelievably dramatic!! Most of my redness and pimples had vanished. Sticking to it for weeks, my skin became much stronger and the infection was cleared. Skin Recovery Cream:  Avène - Skin Recovery Cream My second face cream from AVÈNE, and it didn't disappoint me! Like the Restorative cream, the formula is aimed at skin recovery and protects the skin from external damage. There's another rich version but I bought the light one. Compared to the Cicalfate Cream, this one has a more lightweight texture and is easier to be blended out, not sticky at all. I only use Restorative Skin Cream for the night because it requires time for absorption. While for the Recovery Cream, feel free to use it as either day cream or night cream! The “Meh” 🙅: Thermal Spring Water Spray: Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray Everyone knows this is the best seller of AVÈNE! However, I didn’t like it that much. It’s promoted as sensitive and dry skin friendly, yes it is. But to some extent, I feel like it has no difference from water, and the ingredient table proves me right…. Although it is not expensive, I think a spray bottle does not worth its value. I felt no improvement in skin condition, leave along expecting it for moisturizing. I will never purchase it again. Gentle Toner:  The product is promoted with soothing and anti-irritant properties, and the ingredient is rich with the so-called “Thermal Spring Water”. I mean… let's stop playing a word game, it's just water. I was not satisfied with its effects, and I dislike it in addition to its texture, which is a mix of liquid and oil. Too oily to use in summer or use with other products for the following skincare routine (unless your skin is very, very dry)  Deep Moist Lotion:  Similar to the Gentle Toner, the “Thermal Spring Water” is its main ingredient. It is a translucent lotion and is very diluted, not nourishing enough for me. It was okay just after you apply it, but then the moisture seems to go away quickly. The toner is too thick, and the lotion is too lightweight, lack of competence to lock the moisture for skin.
