✨ powder + spray for the perfect base
I love my BB cream, but wearing it alone can start to look oily through the day. Plus, under eye foundation can start to crepe. Here’s the products I use to supplement it for a flawless base~ with a focus on my favorite powder & spray! 🌟 BASE 🌟 I’ve used the PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Super BB All-In-1 Beauty Balm Cream SPF 30for over a year. It’s a great BB that evens your skin tone, and looks natural. It’s also non-comedogenic, and has moisturizers like Shea butter. Only problem is it can look oily if I spend the day with no powder. 🌟 CONCEALER 🌟 I use the Too Faced - Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealerwhich was sadly discontinued. :( But it’s not matte, nor too heavy for the under eyes. I’ve used the L'ORÉAL - True Match Super Blendable Concealer& bareMinerals - BARESKIN Complete Coverage Serum Concealer, which were both comparable. ⭐️ POWDER ⭐️ In LOVE with the Beauty Bakerie - Flour Setting Powder in Oat (Translucent). It comes in the CUTEST bakery bag packaging when you get it, and it’s a loose powder. It has never felt too cakey, heavy, or overly mattifying. It has a blurring effect on my face. In the 2nd photo, it also seemed to brighten up my skin. My skin is sensitive, but it’s never irritated it- its gentle enough to even set under eye concealer. Beauty Bakerie powders have a large shade range, so deep & olive toned peeps don’t have to worry about a white cast. I’ve bought it 2x with my own money by now. It’s vegan, silicone + paraben-free, and flashback free. After trying other powders, I think this is my holy grail. ⭐️ SPRAY ⭐️ Let’s say you DO actually put too much powder on. A setting spray that makes you glow can help. I really enjoy the COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hydrating Setting Spray It’s affordable at $12, and comes with hyaluronic acid and 🥥 coconut water to moisturize your skin. It smells like fresh coconut with every spritz. With this spray over the powder, my skin looked glowing- but not overly oily. It also helps my eyeshadow melt into my skin, and just... brings the whole look together. Colourpop’s forte has always been eyeshadow imo, but I feel like they’re killing it in the base department now, too. I’ve used a lot of other base products before. I tried the Maybelline concealer, the L’Oreal True Match Foundation, the Urban Decay Naked skin powder and TonyMoly setting sprays. Some were too matte or broke me out, or just did nothing. I will def think of repurchasing these products when I run out (unless I want to try something new !) ✨ TLDR ✨ Use these products for natural looking, glowy (not oily) skin. Suitable for sensitive skin, and the powder has a large shade range.

Dewy, Springy Vibe
I’m baaaaack! After a long hiatus due to health reasons, I finally feel healthy enough to actually do my makeup! Hooray! I had some fun with the NATASHA DENONA - Eyeshadow Palette 5 in Peak which is such a great palette. I also cheated and used bareMinerals - Gen Nude Eyeshadow Palette in “Soul” in my crease. Both of these shadow palettes are fantastic and very easy to work with/blend. The color payoff is great as well, especially the Natasha Denona shadows. I’ll be posting another look soon with the bareMinerals palette so you can get more of an idea of how gorgeous this collection is, so stay tuned. I’m still loving Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid because no matter how dull and dry my skin is looking, this serum can bring me back from dead-looking to hydrated and bright. I’m off to get vaccinated! Wish me luck 💕

Makeup of the Day 💕
Hey, just because I’m still under quarantine doesn’t mean I can’t play around with some of my favorite products. Let’s talk about what I have on: For my base, I used the usual bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 which is tried and true. I luckily don’t need much coverage, and this gives me the perfect dewy look without looking caked on. bareMinerals - BARESKIN Complete Coverage Serum Concealer is still my favorite concealer right now. It provides great coverage without drying me out or settling into my fine lines. I skipped brow powder today and just used Milk MAKEUP - KUSH Fiber Brow Gel which I am OBSESSED with. I’m going to do a more in-depth review of this in the near future, but this product reminds me of Benefit’s Gimme Brow. It gives the brows a really nice tint to fill out those sparse spots and really holds everything in place all day long. I have thick, long brow hairs, so it’s perfect for me. If you’re on the fence about it, hop off and get it already! Onto the eyes! Today, I played with one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes, the CLINIQUE - All About Eyeshadow Palette . I absolutely love this neutral palette because it has a great range of colors, and they are easy to blend and build up. I used one of the darker shades as a smoky liner. It also comes with a really nice double-ended shadow brush and mirror, so it’s perfect for travel. I’m still using and loving the Milk MAKEUP - Kush Waterproof Mascara . That length and volume are fantastic. The brush is classic in its design, and the bristles are soft, so it’s very easy to apply and work with, especially in the corners and on the bottom lashes. On the cheeks, we’ve got the trèStiQue - Blush Stick in “Moroccan Rose” and trèStiQue - Highlight & Perfect Multipurpose Stick in “Maldives Luminescent.” The blush is a cream crayon, and I’d call the color a matte coral pink. A little goes a long way, and it’s buildable which is great. I like using my fingers to apply it. The highlight is also a cream crayon, and the color is a champagne tone which works with most skin tones. It’s gorgeous, and it makes it look like you’re glowing from within as opposed to just having glitter on your cheeks. Loving it so far! Finally, I finished this look off with bareMinerals - Moxie Plumping Lip Gloss in the shade “Daredevil” which is a plummy pink tone. It has a bit of a sparkle to it, and it also has that slight plumping peppermint tingle; it’s not overpowering which is just how I like it. Overall, I am digging this look, even if you and my husband are the only ones who are seeing it. Happy almost Thanksgiving! 💕

Bare Minerals Appreciation Post
I may be a bit biased because I worked at Bare Escentuals (the company that makes Bare Minerals) all throughout college, but they have always had excellent products. While I was employed there, all of the products were in loose mineral form. Again, they were great, even then, but they really stepped up their game when they started coming out with their liquid and gel formulas. bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 was my first foray into their liquid products, and it has turned into my go-to face product for years and years; I can’t recommend it enough. The texture is fantastic and blends so well. For a tinted moisturizer/gel, the coverage is surprisingly good. And who doesn’t love a face product that has an SPF in it? I always wear added sun protection under my makeup to be on the safe side; you can never be too careful in the Arizona sun. I usually apply it with my fingers as directed, but you can use a brush for a little bit of added coverage if needed. bareMinerals - BARESKIN Complete Coverage Serum Concealer is a newer product for me. The texture admittedly threw me off at first. Personally, I had never used a serum concealer. It seemed watery, and I feared that the coverage would suffer due to the consistency. However, after multiple uses, I was happily proven wrong. The medium coverage is truly beautiful as well as buildable, and I haven’t had any issues with creasing throughout the day. I don’t even bake, so that’s a true testament to this product and its efficacy. I like to pat this on with my fingers around my eyes and any problem areas. Then I blend it with a dampened beauty sponge for a seamless, streak-free finish. NOTE: I’ve found it to be a decent eyeshadow base (use sparingly) if you don’t have a primer on hand! Give these bad boys a try; you won’t regret it 😎

Honest Review: BareMinerals Concealer
Foundation goes a long way towards creating an even and uniform color to the skin. It can even cover up flaws like the occasional pimple and minor scarring. However, often times foundation does not adequately cover more noticeable imperfections. That is where concealer comes in. Concealers have the ability to mask age spots, dark circles, large pores, and other visible blemishes on the skin. Mineral concealers in particular can seamlessly disguise skin imperfections while also brightening skin and improving hyperpigmentation. ✔️What Makes Mineral Makeup So Effective?✔️ Most high-quality mineral makeup contains other key nutrients and little to no artificial ingredients. This means that you are not putting harmful chemicals onto your skin that could cause inflammation or breakouts. Mineral makeup is safe for daily use and provides the coverage you need, whether you are running errands or attending a special event. Hands down my favorite beauty product: bareMinerals - BARESKIN Complete Coverage Serum Concealer I tried this concealer on a whim when it went on sale at Sephora and I’m so glad I did! I've been looking for a natural looking and full coverage concealer and this is it. It’s the perfect concealer for those days when you don’t want to feel like you have much on your face. It’s super lightweight with light to medium buildable coverage, does a great job at keeping it covered without caking! Hydrating, non creasing and blends seamlessly into the under eye. Doesn’t cling to dry patches. I mean this is great and when you are wearing it you literally can’t even tell that you have it on. It applies great and isn’t heavy or sticky. And this works great with the primer. Compared to nars concealer which is 30$, this one was 21$ and i am absolutely in love.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
