What It IsAn ultra-volumizing mascara that delivers instant dimension for epic lashes.
What Else You Need to KnowVelvet Noir is inspired by Marc Jacobs’s first beauty memory of his mother carefully shaving fibers from a velvet ribbon to create her own couture faux lashes. "I have some very fond memories of watching my mother do her makeup before she’d go out on a date. I could sit there for hours and watch her as she would choose her clothes and put her makeup on. She’d take a piece of black velvet ribbon and she would scrape it with a knife so she could take the pile from the black velvet to make the lashes even thicker and clumpier."—Marc Jacobs This product is cruelty-free.

Mascara Roundup - Figured I’d start my mascara roundup with some of my favorite volumizing mascaras 💗 Marc Jacobs and Too Faced: these mascaras are great to use alone (2 coats) or to use as a top coat to a separating/lengthening mascara (i.e, BUXOM) HUGE lash: I really liked this mascara when I first used it - adds great volume, but it flakes a lot and was irritating to my eyes by the end of the day Stay All Day: this is my favorite waterproof mascara! Curls and adds good volume Black Ecstasy: not only volumizes, but also separates and curls lashes well - I usually need at least 3 coats though Fully Charged: this “magnetic powered” mascara is awesome - it makes my lashes extra long, separates well and also adds good volume with multiple coats (similar to IT cosmetics mascara, which is in my top 5 mascaras)

A mascara world✨
So mascara is one of the most important steps in my everyday makeup routine. I don’t wear a lot of makeup regularly but I always wear mascara just to plump up the look of eyes. As a result of the importance of mascara, I have picked 5 of the best mascaras I have ever tried. Please consider that I have tried a huge bunch of different kinds of mascaras. My eyelashes are not very long and not thick at all. So when looking for mascaras, I look for something that can create length and thickness to my eyelashes. it Cosmetics - Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing and Lengthening Mascara I must start with the it Cosmetics superhero mascara. Guys this is my holy grail!! You get a great amount of product for a great price. The brush is super thin and makes it so easy to apply mascara without smudging. It makes your eyelashes look thick and long. It is a great product I would definitely recommend this to everyone! Milk MAKEUP - KUSH High Volume Mascara So I received the MILK high volume mascara as a birthday gift and absolutely fell in love with it! It does not have a thick consistency, but instead has a thick brush. This allows you to apply mascara to every single eyelash properly. It gives a good curl and length to my eyelashes and I will definitely be purchasing this product in the near future. Recommend 100% MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara The rave for this product is definitely real. The consistency of this product is pretty thick, once applied it dries immediately. It does the job by creating longer and thicker eyelashes. One thing I must say about this product is that it’s super pricey and personally I think there are better products out there that aren’t as pricey. Lastly, the fact that it dries so fast makes it difficult to move around your eyelashes if they clump up together. L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Carbon Black Volume Building Mascara After trying hundreds of drugstore mascaras, I finally resorted to one that I actually liked. This mascara does the job, it lifts your eyelashes and creates length. It does only so much for thickness. It does take longer to apply this mascara in order to get your eyelashes to look perfect. I usually wear 5 coats to make my eyelashes pop, whereas the mascaras above I only need 1 coat. It is a lot cheaper than the ones mentioned above thus, it’s a great alternative! YVES SAINT LAURENT - Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Volumizing Mascara The volume effet faux cils mascara by YSL contains a super weird brush. It’s a super thin plastic angled brush. Despite the brush, it’s sometimes difficult to apply the mascara due to its angle. But once you get the angle right on your eyelashes, it plumps you’re eyelashes like no other! This is an extremely pricey product and therefore, this would be one of my last options.

Easy Job Interview Glam
When it comes to my ~professional~ glam, I like to keep things minimal but still make sure to contour and highlight the appropriate areas – the goal is a soft glow that accentuates your features without looking too much. I think it’s also important to apply powder, especially if you’re like me and have oily skin and are prone to sweat when you get nervous lol. Keeping shine in mind, I like to opt for mattifying complexion products and powder formulas when it comes to bronzer, blush, and highlight - but these days, my favorite bronzers and blushes are cream formulations. For the eyes, I think all you need is a little sweep of mascara and/or liner depending on what you’re into. To really make them pop and elevate your look, I like to go in with a neutral eyeshadow to give the eyes more definition and make myself look more put together. And for the finishing touch, all you need is your favorite lipstick. I feel like any color goes and your glam can be a great way to let your personality shine through. These are the products I use: REVLON - Photoready Candid Glow Moisture Glow Anti-Pollution Foundation MAKE UP FOR EVER - Ultra HD Self-Setting Concealer MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara FENTY BEAUTY - Match Stix Matte Skinstick – for a natural-looking contour, I like to warm the product up on the back of my hand and then I pick it up from there with an angled bronzer brush. MERLE NORMAN - Cheek Crayon - like with the contour stick, I recommend applying creme blushes to your hand first and picking it up from there. This gives you more control when you apply it and really helps you build it up to that natural-looking flush. I also love to add a little to my eyes to sub in for eyeshadow. Charlotte Tilbury - Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder – if you're on the oilier side like me, I've found that you need to apply this powder all over and do so about 2-3 times. It's a little annoying, but it creates such a gorgeous glow that you really look airbrushed and it's totally worth it. PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Butter Highlighter – make sure you dab the excess off or you’ll look ~crazy~ glowy. I learned this the hard way. Charlotte Tilbury - Matte Revolution Lipstick

Glowy makeup in literally 10 minutes
Okay, so I literally forgot that I had a Zoom call this morning that I needed to be on camera for and literally had to get glammed up in 10 minutes. I have acne-prone skin and always need my makeup to cover up my breakouts and scars, so concealer is a must for me. Since using Zoom, I’ve noticed that mascara makes a huge difference and can truly elevate your look by lifting up your lashes. Bronzer and blush also make big impacts in the way your skin looks on Zoom; sometimes I’ve found that I look ghostly pale if I don’t add a little color to my cheeks. To save time, I skipped foundation and just spot-treated with concealer (thankfully I didn’t have that many spots and bumps to cover up today lol). I also don’t use powder or lipstick if I’m in a rush - and sometimes I forget to get rid of my mascara smudges (which I definitely did today lol) Here’s my 10-minute routine and the steps/products that I consider essential: Prep: Glossier Futuredew oil serum on my high-points to make my skin look glowy. I don’t recommend using a lot of this product or applying it all over the face since it can be thick and oily. Applying a little on the high-points is how I’ve avoided breakouts. Concealer: Fenty Beauty Match Skin Stix in French Vanilla. I applied it to my under-eyes and then around the spots on my chin and forehead to brighten and conceal. Since it’s a stick formulation, I like to blend it out with a damp beauty sponge otherwise I find it hard to blend out and get a natural-looking finish. This product is also really good for Zoom because of its matte finish, which helps eliminate any the glare from your computer looking like shine. Mascara: Marc Jacobs Beauty Mascara delivers fuller, voluminous lashes in one sweep because of its fluffy hourglass wand. It’s one of my favorite mascaras of all-time and really transforms my lashes. Blush: Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Highlighter Wand in the shade Pinkgasm, which is a liquid blush and the most shimmery, gorgeous pure pink shade and blends into the skin so nicely and easily. I’ve found that a little goes a long way, which is great when you’re in a pinch, otherwise it can be a bit much. I love to apply it with my fingers. Highlight: Saie Beauty Dew Balm in Rosy Gold, which is actually the worst product to use in a pinch; it’s really hard to get the salve-like balm out of the tube. But once it’s out and melted down from your fingers, it creates the dreamiest glow. Bronzer: I always do bronzer last in case I don’t have time for it, but I love the glow my skin gets from Hourglass’ powder Ambient Lighting Bronzer, which creates a natural-looking contour and never looks artificial or caked on. If there’s time, I like to apply a little to the creases of my eyes for a little definition and faux eyeshadow moment. Thankfully I had time today because it made me look so good.

Key points: 🔸Once you apply the flaxseed let you hair completely dry the longest you keep the flaxseed on the better. 🔸You will probably see some flaxseed flakes after it dries, that is why I like to use a comb and remove all the excess. 🔸Then blow out using the lowest heat temperature. My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
