MPC Lime Crime Venus 3 2️⃣
Hi y’all! Here is my 2nd MPC look using the #Lime Crime - Venus 3[products]#[FiveStars] palette! I had to rush a bit because I had an early morning meeting so I couldn’t do anything tooooo fancy. So for the transition shade, I used the e.l.f. - Primer-Infused Blush in Always Spicy (I believe). This retails for $6 and I love how easily it blends on top of foundation and powder. I started to use blush as my transition shade back in January 2020 when I was in India and I just wanted a simpler/more natural look. This has become something that I’ve grown to love in terms of makeup application and to me makeup is freedom to experiment! So use your makeup in new and different ways, ways that it ISNT marketed for! It’s fun 🎉 Anyway here’s what I did for this look! ⬆️Top- Lid = Beloved: Minky lavender brown (metallic) Outer Lid = Ecstasy: Dried fig (matte) ⬇️Bottom- Lash Line = Ecstasy: Dried fig (matte) Transition = Beloved: Minky lavender brown (metallic) This 2 color look has become my go to look whenever I’m in a rush. I also like just putting 1 eyeshadow shade all over the lid and blending it up to the brow when I’m in a rush or want to just go super bold. 😅 Will you be taking part of the makeup palette challenge? Tag me in your posts! 😊
Amazing blush! Amazing price!
This is an ELF blush that’s a gorgeous color and powder formula! I got this during one of their many sales, and absolutely love the terracotta brick shade! It’s extremely pigmented and so inexpensive that I would continue to repurchase this time after time. Also, because it’s so pigmented, I really think that this will last me such a long time. I would recommend that everyone try a few ELF products because they’re such a great value for money and you wouldn’t suffer a big loss if the product doesn’t end up working for you. Also, I love that ELF is cruelty-free in addition to keeping their prices so low!
Your skin reflects your diet
Hey y’all! I’ll be the first to admit, my skin was HORRIBLE in college. I did my undergrad at Rutgers in Chemical Engineering, with minors in math and polisci. So I was absolutely STRESSED OUT often and my diet reflected that. I ate junk food more often than I’d like to admit and I used to drink soda. (Yikes) And my skin reflected my diet and my stress levels. I had these weird dry dark spots under my eyes that would get super flaky during the spring time exacerbated by my allergies. And I had dry flaky skin in the skin between my lip and nose. And nothing I did helped. 😭 This is when I started making my own face creams using beeswax, aloe, jojoba/almond/avocado/coconut/olive oils (depending on what my skin needs), and essential oils. That definitely helped with immediate topical relief. But I made some huge diet and lifestyle changes about 3 years ago. 1️⃣ I started to work out more often. I used to hate physical activity because I felt like I will be judged and ridiculed. But working out has helped me get stronger physically and mentally. And that has been reflected in my overall skin. 💪🏽 2️⃣ My bf eats super healthy and I started to do so as well once we started dating. And I cut out junk food and soda almost entirely. (I snack sometimes but it’s not the same levels as before.) 🥗 3️⃣ I drink a lot more water! 💧 4️⃣ I started adding lemon juice in my water about 3 months ago to boost collagen production and clear up my hyperpigmentation from within. 🍋 These changes have made my skin look and feel so much healthier. I’m so glad I made these changes. I’m so lucky to have found a partner who supports me and comforts me and encourages me in every way. As a survivor of IVP, I’m still struggling with my own inner demons but I have someone by my side now who is helping me heal and become the best version of myself. 😇 I know some of these things are hard, especially now when putting food on the table can be difficult. But even just doing 30 min of yoga has really helped me with managing stress during this craziness. (Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube is my go to! She’s 😎!) Good luck, and I hope you’re staying safe and healthy. 🙏🏽 Let me know what lifestyle changes you’ve made 👇🏽😊 Happy Thanksgiving (to those in the US)! 🦃

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
