💞Skin Care Routine for Oily Skin💖
With summer around the corner those of us with oily skin know that usually means a glistening shiny complexion, and you’re not alone. According to various studies 75 percent of people aged 15-20, are affected by oily skin, partly because hormones play a big role in the over production of oily skin. Here’s the thing. You can’t completely get rid of your oils. Your skin type is genetic. But you can do a few things to alleviate greasy skin responsibly without over drying your skin. Let’s start with these top 9 tips! 1. Look for a cleanser with papaya extracts Papaya continues to grow its skin-health appeal because of papain, a powerful digestive enzyme naturally found in the fruit. When applied topically to the skin, this enzyme aids in breaking down dead skin.KINSHIP - Naked Papaya Gentle Enzyme Face Cleanser 2. Use an alcohol free toner Use a toner after cleansing to balance your skin’s pH and clear your skin of any oil or bacteria that has been left on the skin after cleansing. Avoid ingredients that contain alcohol, menthol, camphor, or peppermint since they dry out the skin, which in turn actually produces more oil. Neutrogena - Alcohol Free Toner 3. Try the no makeup look Foundation can feel heavy, especially in hot weather because it melts into your pores and clogs them, then they produce even more oil. Try switching to a tinted moisturizer instead. 4. Exfoliate once a week Exfoliating once a week is one of the keys to balancing out oily skin. Take your exfoliating to the next level by incorporating the Clarisonic Classic Sonic Skin Cleansing System into your skin care routine, which uses sonic frequency to loosen dirt and oil in the pores. Just be gentle and don't overdo it. 5. Skip the hot sauce Did you know that cocktails and spicy foods may make your oily skin worse? 🌶😮 According to Leslie Baumann, professor of dermatology and director of the University of Miami Cosmetic Medicine and Research Institute they dilate blood vessels and make you perspire. She recommends that you limit yourself to one drink a night and only consume spicy foods once a week. If you want to slow down your oil production add more of these foods to your diet: carrots, cantaloupe, spinach 6. Don’t skip your moisturizer 🧴 Many people think that they don’t need a moisturizer because their skin is already oily. Not true folks. It’s actually the opposite. If you don’t moisturize it sends the signal that you need moisturize so it overcompensates. & guess what happens? You end up producing more oil. Dr. Jart+ - Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer 7. Give yourself a facial Try one of these homemade masks It can do wonders to tighten & promote an even skin tone. 8. Stay Hydrated Give your skin a mist your face throughout the day 9. Loosen blackheads steam your face it softens the sebum inside your pores, that makes it easier to clean your face.

First cleansing video!
Hi y’all! Here’s my first cleansing video! This is what I do about once a week when I have more time. 1️⃣ First off, I use a deep cleanser with a little bit of salicylic acid and the elf massaging facial cleanser (not sure if that’s still around anymore). 2️⃣ I massage the cleanser everywhere I put makeup on, including my neck. The last thing I massage is my eye makeup. 3️⃣ Then I use a reusable cotton facial pad to wipe away all of the makeup and the deep cleanser. 4️⃣ Then I use the Aveeno - Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub and wash that off 5️⃣ Now here’s the thing I sometimes use, only about once a week. It’s the Neutrogena - Alcohol Free Toner and the Neutrogena - Pore Refining Toner These two dry out my already kinda dry skin so I use them a little less often. But they’re still very good! Now it’s my typical skincare routine!! 1️⃣ I used the fARSÁLI - Liquid Glass Radiance Serum to pat that into my semi damp skin. 2️⃣ Then it’s six drops of my fave RADHA BEAUTY - Rosehip Oil and I use a gua sha tool to massage my face and drain the areas that can get puffy when I’m getting stressed 3️⃣ Finally, since it’s winter and dry, my combo skin gets pretty darn dry. So I use an inch long strip of the #Aquaphor - Advanced Therapy Baby Healing Ointment[products]#[FiveStars] That’s it! I just ordered more skincare so I can’t wait to give your my thoughts and try them out! Let me know what your winter skincare routines are below! 👇🏽😊
Neutrogena-Alcohol Free Toner
refreshing alcohol-free toner!
Neutrogena - Alcohol Free Toner this is my first toner and the one i’ve been using since i started. this is maybe my fourth or fifth bottle (it lasts a while, a few months?) and it’s inexpensive. definitely a good, basic, drugstore toner. very refreshing and doesn’t contain alcohol which can be an irritant to some skin types. not only that, but it does work well to balance your skin and moisturize it. use- this toner does have a refreshing smell that isn’t strong or too noticeable (it’s light). some people apply toner by swiping up on their skin as it says on the bottle to do and others simply pat their skin. it’s better to pat your skin if you have sensitive skin but i did notice that swiping got more product really in there. the formula itself absorbs fast and doesn’t dry your skin out. it definitely calms your skin and if you use it before sleep like i used to, will make your skin less red by the morning. toners are meant to restore your skins pH and this one definitely does. some toners tend to be on the thicker side but this one is just like water. ingredients- this toner is not fragrance free sadly, but again, as someone with sensitive skin i don’t think it was irritating at all. it’s a light fragrance that just makes the toner more refreshing. on the other hand, this toner IS alcohol-free! this is a big thing because 1) it’s less likely to break you out 2) it won’t strip your skin! there are two highlighted ingredients those are panthenol and sodium PCA. panthenol, also known as provitamin B5, is a humectant and helps moisturize the skin. sodium PCA does a similar job as it is a skin-identical ingredient and a great natural moisturizer. skin type- any skin type can use a toner or include one in their skin routine. i’ve been using one for about a year and it worked well for me but a few months ago i stopped using a toner just to simplify my skincare routine for a while. toners are more preferred by oily or acne-prone skin. toners work by gently refreshing the skin and adding an extra step of cleansing that would need to be used by oiler skin types. but, it can be used by all skin as a prep before moisturizer. at the end of the day, toner is inclusive! make sure to find one for your skin type but i definitely think this is a good one to start with. (*^ω^*) i’ve posted 3 products so far that can make a skincare routine!

skincare beginner rating Neutrogena products
So i’m brand new to skin care, and I had no idea where to start. This was the routine I started with 😊 After walking back and forth down the aisles of my local chemist warehouse, I settled on these four Neutrogena products to get myself into a basic routine. I have normal skin - no acne or regular spots. Would love to hear your thoughts on how to upgrade! Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser The first step in my routine, massages onto my damp face. I haven’t been wearing makeup much, but if I had this did an OK job at removing my face makeup. Found it wasn’t best on my eyes and would sting. However apart from makeup, my skin feels quite clean after using. Neutrogena - Alcohol Free Toner Next up is the alcohol free toner. Applied with a cotton round. To be honest, I have no idea if this has affected my skin whatsoever, but hasn’t seemed to dried it out or cause any issues... Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Used this as my moisturiser and boy i love this stuff. I’ve found it’s great in the mornings as it’s not so heavy, and leaves my skin feeling really fresh. I believe it also has HA which has kept my skin feeling really plump and hydrated Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 This sunscreen leaves my skin looking sooo radiant and glowing - it’s not oily at all and feels soooo good on the skin but my biggest issue is that it pills!! Definitely a no no for days when I want to wear foundation 😫 It’s great for no makeup days but otherwise i’m looking for something new. So this is just the beginning.. open to all and any thoughts ☺️

Hey! I wanted to quickly share my current Morning Skincare routine! This routine has been working for me for over a month so I wanted to let you all know about these great products! Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser— I love this cleanser! My face actually feels clean and refreshed after using it! My skin is on the normal side but this product works just great for it! I’ve been using this cleanser for almost a year now and will always recommend it! CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Neutrogena alcohol free toner- This toner is great! I previously used the nivea toner but it contained alcohol and made my face feel super dry. I then switched to this one and have been using it for a year! It works great and makes my face feel very refreshed after cleansing! Neutrogena - Alcohol Free Toner Cetaphil eye cream- I like to use a little bit of eye cream in the morning to keep my under eyes moisturized. I’ve been using this product for a long time and it works great! My under eyes feel instantly softer and less dry! Cetaphil - Hydrating Eye Gel-Cream Neutrogena day moisturizer with SPF 20- This product is one I started using recently. I decided I needed to start using a SPF daily to protect my skin from the sun! This one feels great and doesn’t feel too thick! After I finish this container I do think I want to try one with a higher SPF then 20. But for now it works great!Neutrogena - Deep Moisture, Day Cream with Sunscreen, Broad Spectrum SPF 20

Happy with how my skin is coming back to life
Nighttime routine 🌙💫 TATCHA - Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA I was looking for vitamin c for hyperpigmentation. Love this product. Pricey yes, but my skin has improved so much!! CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser Feels nice on my skin after washing. I did notice it has alcohol so that’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer Love how nice and fresh my skin feels after this. However I think it has a lot of perfume and alcohol. OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream This reallllly killed my skin. I was struggling with what appeared to be hormonal breakout and dermatologist recommended this. I used it for about 3 months, waiting for the purge to come to an end and nothing. Left me with terrible acne, worse than what I had started with and lots of hyperpigmentation and irritation. I think this is the worst my skin has ever looked. Neutrogena - Alcohol Free Toner Solid toner. Doesn’t irritate my skin and leaves it feeling clean and fresh .
