neutrogena ‘hydro boost’ line spotlight
key ingredient: hyaluronic acid is the key ingredient of neutrogena’s ‘hydro boost’ line. hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the skin and acts as a sponge to absorb up to 1,000 times its weight in water to leave your skin feeling/looking smooth and hydrated all day. this effective humectant has skin plumping effects, keeping your skin soft and supple throughout the day. however, it’s important to acknowledge that you can overdo hyaluronic acid in your skincare regimen. thecut claims that, “HA’s immense capacity to hold water can have a Mr. Hyde side. It needs moisture to work, so when applied to skin in dry conditions where humidity is low, it will pull moisture from wherever it can; that’s just the nature of the beast. If there’s no humidity to be obtained from the air, it draws moisture from the deeper layers of skin and brings it to the surface of the epidermis, whence it evaporates, leaving skin drier than it was.” this popular skincare ingredient is also both safe and effective for dry/oily sensitive skin. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel i’ve been using this water gel/moisturizer for about 3-4 weeks now and it really does live up to my expectations and what it claims to do. although i do have combination skin, my skin is dry on most parts around my face. i also have sensitive skin so it’s sometimes difficult to find the right moisturizer for my skin without irritating it. this product absorbs fairly quickly and keeps my skin hydrated, even after a long day or night’s sleep. it’s reduced the slight redness and texture that i had on my cheeks as well. a bonus of this moisturizer is that it helped lighten and minimize the size of a post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation mark i’d been having on my nose for awhile. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser since this cleanser does contain a type of alpha hydroxy acid (aha), i found it to be effective for exfoliating the dead skin cells off of my face. i do like how this product left my skin feeling smoother/softer. however, it left my skin feeling a bit tight and dry and since i do have sensitive skin, my cheeks (where i have slight redness) were redder than normal after usage. the water gel/moisturizer did reduce the redness after awhile when i applied it though. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Cleansing Towelettes i can see the purpose and potential that these cleansing towelettes have but it didn’t really do much for me. however, i have heard some reviews from others that it significantly removes makeup and waterproof mascara (as listed on the packaging of the product). it has removed a bit of oil off of the oily parts of my face (t-zone area), but after awhile, i’ve noticed that my t-zone area was oilier than it was before i used these. i also used these wipes on my cheeks, which is the dryer part of my face, but it left them feeling dryer, rather than leaving them hydrated as the product/packaging claims to do.

My skincare detox!!
Hey awesome people!! It's been a while since I last posted because I was on a skincare detox (and ridiculously busy). Sensitive vs senstized skin: If your skin feels like it burns with the mildest products (for me, even spf and lactic acid) when it's usually not this sensitive - chances are your skin is getting sensitized. Sensitive skin is something we're born with, sensitization happens due to external factors. It's not necessarily due to just rigorous skincare but also external factors like stress, diet, UV exposure etc. So while skin detox is great, also remember to take care of yourself 💜❤️ What and why? I'm no skincare expert by a long shot. I keep things mostly simple and I believe we can tell what our skin needs. I started serious skincare around January this year (I know, suuuper late but better than never lol). My skin before that was mostly normal with bouts of dryness but no major sensitivity. So I was wondering why after skincare, my skin felt like it was hurting when it should feel better. Answer: I needed to give my skin break once in a while! The products, especially the ones with active ingredients, can sensitize skin - even if it is not already sensitive. So I took a break for about 3 weeks. I don't think you need to break for that long, I suppose 10ish days should be enough. I just got lazy to start again. BUT - I can definitely see a difference. For example, now if I use the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, it tingles less than before! How did I detox? Again, not saying this is the only way. I stripped down to basics. Cleanse, moisturize and spf. That's all. In detail: AM: Cleanse with either DERMA•E - Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser or SOAP & GLORY - Face Soap And Clarity Facial Wash (nothing technically wrong with either cleansers, they're both a bit drying with a bit of fragrance and I'm still on the hunt for The One™) Moisturizer: #Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel SPF: Australian Gold - Botanical Tinted Face Sunscreen SPF 50 PM: Double cleanse (because of spf): BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original (love this Btw) And then DERMA•E - Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser (soap and glory is too harsh for double cleanse) Moisturize: FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration And that's it! No actives, no exfoliation - just the bare mininum. Info: The selfies are somewhere around week 2 of my detox (not a selfie person so I probably suck at taking selfies but oh well 🤷🏻♀️) Hope this helps!! Cheers ✨

Neutrogena water gel cream
Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Moisturizer Texture: lightweight gel cream that is easy to spread out onto all of your skin. It absorbs into the skin quickly and completely. The texture and color is dupe of Belif The True Cream Aqua bomb but I found that the scent of Aqua bomb is stronger than Neutrogena’s. Ingredients: Glycerin, Hyaluronic acid, Olive extract, etc This product is also Dermatologist-Recommended It is oil free, fragrance free, and dye free. I fell in love with the texture and how my skin feels after I applied it. I use this Hydro boost gel cream day and night. It absorbs beautifully and leaves skin feeling soft and silky. I used to have dehydrated skin but after I used this gel cream my skin was hydrated and back to bouncy. Even in the winter, some areas that were feeling dry on my face immediately felt moisturized and soft after I applied Hydro boot gel cream on. Price: $23 for 1.7 oz Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 highly recommend for any skin type

skincare beginner rating Neutrogena products
So i’m brand new to skin care, and I had no idea where to start. This was the routine I started with 😊 After walking back and forth down the aisles of my local chemist warehouse, I settled on these four Neutrogena products to get myself into a basic routine. I have normal skin - no acne or regular spots. Would love to hear your thoughts on how to upgrade! Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser The first step in my routine, massages onto my damp face. I haven’t been wearing makeup much, but if I had this did an OK job at removing my face makeup. Found it wasn’t best on my eyes and would sting. However apart from makeup, my skin feels quite clean after using. Neutrogena - Alcohol Free Toner Next up is the alcohol free toner. Applied with a cotton round. To be honest, I have no idea if this has affected my skin whatsoever, but hasn’t seemed to dried it out or cause any issues... Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Used this as my moisturiser and boy i love this stuff. I’ve found it’s great in the mornings as it’s not so heavy, and leaves my skin feeling really fresh. I believe it also has HA which has kept my skin feeling really plump and hydrated Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 This sunscreen leaves my skin looking sooo radiant and glowing - it’s not oily at all and feels soooo good on the skin but my biggest issue is that it pills!! Definitely a no no for days when I want to wear foundation 😫 It’s great for no makeup days but otherwise i’m looking for something new. So this is just the beginning.. open to all and any thoughts ☺️

The Woes Of Dull Skin
Sick and tired of your dull skin and have no time to sleep? Want to party all night long and still look on point the next day? Numerous deadlines to meet and class at 9? Well, no problem! You can say goodbye to all your dull skin worries because we have the perfect solution for you. However, before we move forward with this review, I want to talk a little about my skin type. I have combination to oily skin, with more emphasis on oily. But, I don’t have any other skin condition, except for huge pores and an occasional pimple that pops up with my menstrual cycle. With that out of the way, I want to introduce you guys to two of my Holy Grail skincare products, which have helped me not only combat my oily skin but also fight dullness during my college days. Neutrogena Hydro-boost Water Gel. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel I am sure you are super tired of hearing about the power of moisturizing. But, we are going to blow its horn anyway. The first thing that helped my dehydrated and dull skin is the Neutrogena Hydro-boost Water Gel. The product is usually marketed for combination skin, but trust me, it is the best for oily skin. It is non-greasy and non-comedogenic, therefore, it hits all the right spots. The formula is light and perfect for everyday use or for using under making as well! The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The second product is by The Ordinary and I am absolutely in love with it. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% is one of the best serums to include in your PM routine. It is lightweight and retails for only $6 to $10. Let’s talk about the ingredients. The niacinamide is a magic product for controlling sebum production on your skin and fighting off the wrinkles. It is a brilliant anti-aging product and fights dullness by keeping the oil at bay. Niacinamide helps retain moisture and fights the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion. All in all, it is a wholesome product, which is a must-have for all you oily girls out there. Let’s talk about how to incorporate the two products in your routine. Ideally, it is best to use the serum on a clean and dry face. However, if you are new to such products, then you should mix in two drops of the serum in your moisturizer and then put it on your face. It is all about building tolerance slowly and steadily. They have been a part of my routine for a little over two years and that is why I swear by them both!
