Disappointing Micellar Wipes
Disappointing Micellar Wipes
Burt’s Bees really dropped the ball on this one. This product doesn’t remove make up, the wipes arent nearly as moist as they should be, and they have an odor similar to cleaning products. I highly advise using an alternative product.

I am a big fan of Burt’s Bees products. I have used their lip products for years so I wanted to try more of their skincare products. These wipes were very calm on my sensitive skin, I didn’t have any irritation. I didn’t feel that these wipes really did a good job of removing my makeup. I still felt like I had a decent amount of makeup left after using these wipes. I probably wouldn’t purchase again. BURT’S BEES - Micellar Cleansing Towelettes

Makeup remover wipe flop 😒
Makeup remover wipe flop 😒
These makeup remover wipes from Burt’s Bees are perhaps their biggest fail ever. These wipes are marketed as micellar makeup removing towelettes with rose water. They are described as 3-in-1 wipes that remove makeup, cleanse, and tone your face. They are formulated with botanicals and are made with ingredients that are 99.5% naturally derived. Full disclosure: I’m not the biggest Burt’s Bees fan. Their chapsticks reek of beeswax and have very low melting points. That being said, I picked up these makeup remover wipes because hey, they’re wipes. You can’t mess up a wipe. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Apparently I was wrong. These wipes aren’t as soft as I thought they would be. Yes, they do smell like roses, but that’s perhaps the only good thing about them. I rarely wear complexion makeup, so I only needed these wipes to remove my gel eyeliner and mascara. Yet my eye makeup wouldn’t budge! I mean come on, it’s gel eyeliner not liquid eyeliner! But nope, my makeup stayed put. I love micellar water because of how gentle it is, even though I do need to use quite a bit of it to remove mascara. But I’ve never had an issue with using it to remove my gel eyeliner. Using these wipes was equivalent to using those brown paper towels that you find in public bathrooms. They’re moist alright, but don’t expect them to do much. To make matters worse, my skin was red and splotchy immediately after using these wipes. I don’t know if this was an allergic reaction or if it’s because of how much I had to rub my eyes in an effort to take off my makeup. Long story short, skip these wipes and don’t fall for the pretty packaging. I bought these for $5 from Target and would never consider repurchasing them. I’d rate them 1 star out of five, and that’s being generous.

Let’s talk about cleansing wip
Let’s talk about cleansing wipes. I love them. I love them sooo much. They’re the simplest way to be better to your skin, and so helpful in all situations! Want a light, refreshing cleanse in the morning? Wipe. Need something convenient and hydrating to use after a workout? Wipe. Your other cleansers need help removing your makeup? (Probably) Wipe. No energy to do your full routine? Wipe. Traveling? Wipe. I could probably keep going, but I’ll stop and talk about Burt’s Bees now. [Blue] 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Towelettes w White Cypress Oil & Honey Extract for All Skin Types. —Removes make-up, cleanses, and hydrates. Made from re-purposed cotton. No fragrance. 99.5% natural. —My favorite for after work make-up removal. Sometimes I’ll do this as soon as I get home, then spritz w a facial mist to hold me over until my full routine before bed. Very moist, hydrating wipe w a subtle, fresh scent. If you break out super easily, I’d definitely recommend these of the three (Burt’s Bees has a Cotton Extract formula specifically for sensitive skin, but I’ve never tried those). [Pink] Facial Cleansing Towelettes w Pink Grapefruit Seed Oil for Normal to Oily Skin. —Removes dirt, oil, and make-up. Refreshes and invigorates without drying. 99.1% natural. —My favorite for morning. They smell lovely and are great for a skin wake up. Very soft wipe, not as moist as the others, though. [Orange] Exfoliating Facial Cleansing Towelettes w Peach & Willow Bark Extract for Normal to Dry Skin. —Textured wipe removes dirt, oil, make-up, and dead skin cells. Gently refreshes, cleans, and softens. 99.2% natural. —My favorite when I’m looking to shorten my routine and eliminate steps, and my favorite period! The peach smells soo nice. I love the textured side for exfoliation, and these bring the most moisture of the three. Okay, I just talked about face wipes more than anyone ever should. I love them. That’s all I’m sayin’ 😉
