Cleansing Routine For Acne-Prone Skin✨
Cleansing Routine For Acne-Prone Skin✨
I cannot stress just how important cleansing is in a skincare routine. I believe in a double cleanse because, for me, the first step is always to remove my makeup, and then cleanse the skin. Removing your makeup and cleansing your skin in just one step with one cleanser isn’t enough! Removing only makeup from your skin isn’t called deep cleansing as it’s only surface level! Build up of sebum deep in the skin can cause congestion and breakouts in the future! Here is a breakdown of my morning and evening cleansing routine. Morning: A gentle gel cleanser is perfect for the morning because your face shouldn’t be that dirty from sleeping! But as you sleep, there can be build up of oils on the surface of your skin, and possibly retinol and other active ingredients that you applied the night before. It’s important to remove these actives that can be sensitive to sunlight properly before stepping outside during the day! JC Jane Clare - HA Cleansing Gel This gel cleanser is gentle but effective. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped or dry. It’s perfect for my combination skin! Evening: My first cleanse is always a cleansing oil or cleansing balm (basically an oil in solid form!). Oils break down ALL makeup super easily, fast and is effective without you having to tug at your skin which can cause premature wrinkles! I love a good waterproof mascara but they literally melt in 5 seconds as soon as I massage a cleansing oil into my lashes. shu uemura - Anti/oxi+ pollutant & dullness clarifying cleansing oil I looooove this cleansing oil. It feels lightweight on my skin but is super effective! I start with a dry face and dry hands, massage this oil in my skin until my makeup looks pretty dissolved and then I add a bit of water on my hands and massage my face again. This allows the oil to then emulsify and properly rinse away the makeup from my skin without leaving any residue! My second cleanse is a cleanser meant for acne-prone skin! Every other night I’ll use it with my Clarisonic Face Cleansing Device! LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin This has salicylic acid in it which is a great active ingredient that gets deep into the layers of your skin to cleanse and purify the skin. This helps so much with treating my existing breakouts and preventing more from showing up! It’s a great cleanser that I recommend to all my friends with “problem” skin. What do u think of my cleansing routine? Do you double-cleanse? Why or why not?

#1 SKINCARE GAME-CHANGER
#1 SKINCARE GAME-CHANGER
Cleansing is always the first step in my skincare routine. It’s one of the most essential steps! Without a properly cleansed face, it doesn’t matter what serums and creams you put on afterwards, you’re not doing the first step correctly! clarisonic - Smart Profile Uplift Anti-Ageing Massage and Cleansing I love myself a face cleansing brush- and Clarisonic is truly the best! With its sonic technology, it helps to deeply cleanse the skin and remove impurities. The particular device I have is the Smart Profile (which is now discontinued- but the Mia Smart sound super similar) and it works for face/body cleansing, makeup blending and firming massage! I love that there are a variety of brush heads that the device recognizes for different functions! It makes the brush totally worth the splurge (in my opinion) because it’s now a multi-purpose product. How I use it: I use this every other night with my LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin to cleanse my skin. Cleansing my face is probably the brush’s #1 function in my routine but I also have the massage head and body brush for when I feel like my face needs a little firming/depuffing action and body needs some deep exfoliation.

SALICYLIC ACID: BYEBYE BREAKOUTS 👋🏼👋🏼
SALICYLIC ACID: BYEBYE BREAKOUTS 👋🏼👋🏼
Ingredient: Salicylic Acid, a type of Beta-Hydroxy Acid (BHA) Best for: Blackheads and whiteheads What it does: Works deep into the skin to unclog pores Effectively exfoliates the skin Regulates skin cells (which prevents future breakouts!) My favorite Salicylic Acid products: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin My holy grail face cleanser! I use this once a day at night to help treat my skin and prevent future breakouts. It’s too harsh for me to use as a morning cleanse as well so I like to use a gentle gel cleanser in the morning instead. This is so effective at keeping my skin clear but doesn’t dry out my skin or irritate it. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliator When my skin is feeling particular clogged up, like when I’m stressed or haven’t been eating well, I use this as a treatment toner before applying my face serums. I don’t use it often or a lot at once as it can really dry out my skin because of how strong it is. Once in a while makes this super effective at clearing my skin and preventing any spots from appearing! CeraVe - Renewing SA Lotion Salicylic Acid for the body actually works wonders too to help with exfoliation of the skin. I struggle with a little bit of keratosis pilaris on my legs where I get small colorless bumps. This salicylic body lotion helps so much with breaking down the bumps and gently exfoliating to prevent them from coming back! It’s not a solution to KP but definitely helps a lot!

LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin I love this cleanser for oil control. This foaming acne face wash removes excess oil and helps clear acne breakouts. It has mico-exfoliates like lipo-hydroxy acid to remove impurities but is also oil free so it washes without irritating the skin. The consistency is gel-like and lathers up to a nice foam with water. It contains 2.0% salicylic acid to help target excess oil, pimple, blackheads, and white heads for clear skin. It reduces oil up to 47% to combat oil throughout the day. I would recommend this to a friend. It runs for $14.99 for 6oz. I like this cleanser because it is simple, no fuss, no strong odors. It gets the job done. I don’t feel stripped at all post wash and I refreshed.

Acne getting worse this year
Acne getting worse this year
Hi guys! I’m new to Cherie. I am 22 years old and have always had occasional pimples along with black heads on my nose but now my acne is out of control. On my chin line the pimples are constant and then I have large painful pimples which come up on my checks. Plus, textured forehead with occasional pimples. I began with trying the 10 step Korean skin care routine with the double cleanse which helped my redness and made my face look bright but did not help with the acne Then I tried black wolf face wash which seems to help but doesn’t stand a chance against my 12hr work days. Now: I’m trying smacne which seemed to have a lot of good reviews. SMACNE - Acne Treatment 30 Day Kit but have only used it for a few days For years I have used LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask which I love! It seems to improve my face over night Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment CeraVe - Hydrating Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 50- I hate the texture of this sunscreen but it was $15 so I’m trying to use it up I am on birth control and when talking to my doctor she said I should see a dermatologist because BC should only help acne not cause/ worsen it. I have reduced the dairy I consume, I drink green smoothies with fruits, veggies, flax seed, collagen, and apple cider vinegar most mornings. I also try to drink lots of water. This is kinda my last ditch effort before seeing a dermatologist. I legit am happy to be required to wear a mask at work because i am not confident with my skins current state. Thank you in advance for any advice! Right now I’m just trying to try one new thing at a time and give it plenty of weeks to see the effect. Full list of products that I have tried: THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright Rice Bran Cleansing Foam COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Facial TonerThe Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling SolutionI think my skin is too sensitive for this HOLIKA HOLIKA - Good Cera Super Ceramide Cream (MALIN+GOETZ) - Grapefruit face cleanser- this used to work for me but it stopped helping with my acne SKINFOOD - Royal Honey Essential Queen's Serumdear, klairs - Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop HUM - Daily Cleanse Detox Supplement
