graduation makeup 👄✨
my skin type: combo, acne prone, rosacea my skin concerns: hyperpigmentation + redness the look I was going for: simple, natural look with a tiny bit of glam. Graduations are HOT (indoors or outdoors, so I needed a look that could withstand the heat and sweat. The day is LONG: from a long ceremony to parties, eating, and drinking, so I needed a look that could withstand the whole day, keep me looking plump and hydrated, and cover my acne for all the photos. In order of use: + primer: laura mercier - Hydrating Foundation Primer + tinted moisturizer: FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 + concealer: e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer + blush & lips: BITE - Multistick in shade cashew + highlighter: WESTMAN ATELIER - Lit Up Highlight Stick + eyeliner: NYX - Vinyl Liquid Liner in black + mascara: ciaté - Wonderwand Intensely Volumising Mascara in black + powder: LAWLESS - Seal The Deal Loose Setting Powder + setting spray: Fourth Ray - Glisten Up Vitamin C Face Mist The BITE - Multistick is truly THE star of the show, as I tried to keep my other products neutral and simple. I absolutely love the formula of this multistick, it’s perfect for eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick/lip crayon. Doesn’t clump up on my eyes or lips, which are def problem spots for clumping if the product is too drying. A very hydrating formula actually, and it has incredible staying power; I look rosy and fresh all day. The only downside to this product is that I love it so much and it’s discontinued. So I feel bad for even raving about it! Bite has reformulated most of their products to be vegan, so I hope this makes a comeback ASAP. The FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 is absolutely stunning on - it’s the best light layer for any makeup look. It’s perfect by itself with concealer, OR an easy base for under foundation for a more lasting look. I personally love the finish and I usually buff it out with my fingers first and then a damp beauty sponge (I use the Haley’s Beauty one). It’s light to medium coverage, but it’s definitely buildable. Swipe for a texture shot - you can see it’s very easily diffused and I just used my finger to blot it on. I wear shade “light” and I admit it’s a bit orange on me, but when diffused and paired with a concealer it’s not noticeable at all. This product is also non-comedogenic which is great for long wear days.

how to hide acne and breakouts
swipe for no makeup, post skincare look! my skin type: sensitive, combo, acne prone, rosacea my skin concerns: redness, hyperpigmentation, breakouts my skin color: usually a light neutral shade works well for me :) Today I’ll be doing makeup and focusing on hiding my acne and redness! DISCLAIMER: your acne doesn’t make you less of a person or “ugly” or anything like that. It’s okay to have acne, and I promise no one is looking at you. But sometimes my self confidence is low and covering up makes me feel better. Things I avoid: + I don’t set my makeup w/ a powder most days, but I especially don’t with my heavy breakouts. I find that when I powder my face, it makes my face dry or clings to my acne and makes it look crusty. A dewy look works out better for me! + matte products + products with high concentration of alcohol Things I look for: + hydrating products + medium coverage products that can be layered + sunscreen! Products in order + innisfree - Daily UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 36 if you’re not using sunscreen, you’re (1) missing out, (2) damaging your skin and (3) stopping your skin from healing properly. Your acne will only get worse if you don’t wear sunscreen. I think this one is good for light skinned people, it would probably leave a white cast on darker skinned folks. I just apply this with my fingers gently! + laura mercier - Hydrating Foundation Primer keeping your skin hydrated is also v important to reducing breakouts, as well as keeping your skin balanced. This primer from Laura Mercier is really nice at providing a great hydrating base for makeup. (Always use a moisturizer too)! This product is absolutely decadent and luxe and expensive haha. I apply it with my fingers, being sure to let it dry down before moving on and adding more in spots that need it. + e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer I go in with my camo concealer before AND after my tinted moisturizer. I tap it on the acne I want to conceal with my finger, and then let it sit for about thirty seconds, and then tap it in with a beauty sponge and let set. I love this concealer because it’s affordable AND works well. It doesn’t accentuate my acne for the most part. + FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 I love this tinted moisturizer from FAB. I don’t wear foundation much these days, but this is a really good lightweight alternative. It’s also NON-COMODOGENIC, meaning it’s not going to clog your pores! I use a sponge with this as well and I’m careful not to swipe it, as it will disrupt my concealer placement. + e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer after my tinted moisturizer (and my last step), I dab this on any breakouts or redness patches that haven’t been covered up yet. There are sometimes quite a bit by this point, just depending on the size and color of acne. Darker or bigger spots are obviously hard to hide, but I don’t mind.

Pretty and Lazy? Or both!!
First, thank you to the 100 @cherieusers that are following me so far 💙 Next, makeup-free beauty advice for the WILDLY LAZY! 1. Minimize ☀️ damage. And don’t smoke. Sun damage gives you spots crepey/leathery skin later in life and smoking gives you pucker lines, dry/saggy skin, and brittle hair. Apply sunscreen daily to your neck, chest, backs of your hands just like you do your face.. I didn’t and those are the areas where my skin will give away my age! I’m still total crap at remembering sunscreen on my face every day. When I was younger I was always afraid sunblock on my face would cause acne so I NEVER used it. To be fair they didn’t really have oil-free or face specific sunblock when I was in my teens or 20’s and I grew up in the days where broiling yourself in the ☀️ covered in baby oil was normal. If you are like me and have the attention span/memory of a 🐿, and can’t remember one more thing each day - at the VERY LEAST buy skincare/makeup with sunscreen already in them, get bronze with sunless tanner (I love Tanwise at Sally’s it’s a great MineTan dupe), then wear cute hats. Wear allllll the hats!!! 🧢👒 2. Get enough 💤 & use that time to treat your skin. If you stick to just one part of your routine - make it your PM routine so alllll that good stuff can just soak into your skin overnight. If you are exhausted & all you can do is face wipes then so be it. Try to actually wash the gunk off the majority of nights. But also, 😴 on a clean pillowcase! This is hella lazy. Pillowcases are cheap. Buy half a dozen of them. We are all out here spending $$$ on eye shadow palettes, pillowcases are like $3. Put a weeks worth of clean pillowcases on your pillow at the beginning of the week. Then peel one off each night. Your skin will thank you 👍🏼 3. Be kind to your skin. Don’t pull, pick, or tug at your skin. If you have to push your makeup into your skin it probably isn’t the right formula. Apply creams and lotions gently. Pat them on. Use your pinky or ring finger around your 👁& if your skin freaks out for a minute, just remember it’s only temporary! You are so much more than a breakout. Find that thing that you slay at - Winged liner? Lashes? A bold lip? and rock that. Throw on sunglasses. If you have a breakout one day don’t just toss your whole routine in the trash and immediately introduce a whole new set of things for your skin to deal with. And if things just aren’t working - big a$$ 🕶 (which also keep you from squinting which will cause crows feet!) and a confident 😁 will distract from whatever skin insecurities you are feeling. If you aren’t letting your skin bother you, it’s likely that no one else will notice! Here’s your excuse to buy great sunglasses! Be gentle and kind to your skin. And yourself. Somewhere out there there someone looks at you and thinks “Damn, that’s the most beautiful person in the universe” - even if you don’t always see it! 💙

A great tinted moisturizer!
I wanted to talk about this @firstaidbeauty tinted moisturizer! FAB was one of the first skincare/ beauty brands I bought when I was first getting into all this, and they are still one of my favs! This tinted moisturizer does a great job at adding just enough coverage to even out my skin tone while still giving me that hydration I need!
