Summer Hair: Drugstore Products & Haircare Tips
Summer Hair: Drugstore Products & Haircare Tips
As summer approaches in the Southern Hemisphere, you may be worried about the hot, sticky weather that always ruins your hair and makeup. Summer time is the enemy of clean, luscious hair, and many of us deal with oily, sweaty hair that kills our vibe. Here are some drugstore shampoos and haircare products to help you care for your summer hair. Drugstore Shampoo for Bleached Hair: Personally, I have been using the #Glow Lab - Purple Shampoo[products]#[FiveStars] and #Glow Lab - Purple Conditioner[products]#[FiveStars] to wash and soften my hair. These products are suitable for the Curly Girl Method and help to reduce unwanted brassy tones in bleached hair. I like to leave the shampoo on for 1-2 minutes while I wash my body, and the conditioner on for 2-3 minutes while I brush my teeth (yes, in the shower). Hair Washing Schedule to Reduce Oiliness: One of the best things I ever did was stop washing my hair every day. Those of us with oily hair with low porosity tend to wash our hair more often, because oils and sweat collect on the surface and make our scalps look super greasy. But believe it or not, that can make the situation worse. Stripping your hair of its natural oils so often actually prompts it to produce more oil to nourish the scalp. What you have to try do is wash it every second day, and after a couple weeks your hair will adapt to this schedule and not overproduce oils like it did previously. Eventually, you can stretch this out to two or three days between washes, particularly during winter. How to Deal with No-Wash Days: Since you’ll be trying to wash your hair less often, you’ll need some help dealing with the grease in between washes. Using a dry shampoo such as Batiste - Batiste Dry Shampoo is quick, easy and affordable. You spray it on to your roots, let it sit for a minute, and comb it through or massage your scalp to disperse the product and reduce the white powdery cast. Batiste also have a dry shampoo specifically for brunettes, which is lightly tinted! The cheapest dry shampoo suitable for the Curly Girl Method is probably the LUSH - No Drought Dry Shampoo . It is important to note that most drugstore dry shampoos are not Curly Girl friendly, because they contain drying alcohol. What are your go-to products for summer hair care and dealing with oily, sweaty hair? 💕

caring for straight(ish) hair
caring for straight(ish) hair
Today I want to talk about how I’ve learned to care for my hair, which isn’t stick straight but usually isn’t *super* wavy either. It can also get pretty oily in the summer; I have oily skin on my face, and the two typically go together. First, I tend to wash my hair every day. I know some people are very against this, but it’s what works for me! Since my hair is pretty straight and thin, it tends to get weighed down with product and I hate the feeling of sleeping on it. So I wash it every night. When my hair is wet, I comb out any tangles with a wide-toothed comb. I’ve found this results in way less breakage than if I comb or brush my hair when it’s dry. I use a wooden comb that was a gift, so I’m unsure of what brand it is, but there are lots of great wide-toothed combs out there. I rarely blow dry my hair. I used to blow dry it every day in high school so it would be stick straight, but thankfully that’s not the look anymore 🙃 It’s straight enough without subjecting it to unnecessary heat every day, and heat also makes hair brittle and more prone to breakage unless you use proper heat protectant products. If I do blow dry my hair, I use amika: - Brooklyn Bombshell Blowout Spray to protect from heat and add extra volume and shine. I’ve reviewed this before, but just to recap: I love it! A little goes a long way to add just the right amount of volume to my hair. I’ll be honest: I haven’t been styling my hair much at all since I’ve been working from home since March 😬 Most days it’s just a scrunchie ponytail for me. I’ll occasionally add some Batiste - Batiste Dry Shampoo or SACHAJUAN - Dark Volume Powder to add some volume to my roots—both of these are great for making my roots look lifted, and I’m recommend them to anyone with straight hair in need of a little volume and texture.

SIMPLEST WAY TO ADD VOLUME TO YOUR HAIR💁🏽‍♀️
SIMPLEST WAY TO ADD VOLUME TO YOUR HAIR💁🏽‍♀️
for someone like me who has straight hair, sometimes even though I naturally have a lot of volume, it tends to fade after a couple of days of not washing I think it’s safe to say, we all want amazing beautiful bouncy hair on 3rd or 4th day hair, but I know the struggle when you hair straight hair! Everyone’s loves straight hair, but this is the one con!😭 So my simplest trick I give to any person is, throw on some dry shampoo cause we want to suck up all that extra oil and make the hair look more fresh! 😛 I personally have been using eva·nyc - Freshen Up Dry Shampoo and it’s been pretty good! It does spray out white, but it’s super easy to blend and it soaks up the oil really well, plus she’s affordable! Or try Batiste - Batiste Dry Shampoo which is one of my favourite! I normally get the deep brunette shade to ensure there is no residue and it works every single time! 💘 But anyways, after you put your dry shampoo on, I actually leave it on for a couple minutes (the longer the better) and then shake it out and blend it in using my fingers. And then finally I use a brush to blend it all together! The final step to really add the volume is......... just change your part! 😯 so if you normally where your hair in the middle like myself, I just through it to the side slightly and it immediately will seem like my hair has a lot more volume and you look super sexy and put together! 😋

How to deal with thin, straight hair
How to deal with thin, straight hair
My hair is naturally straight and, unfortunately, quite thin. I like to use products that add some volume to my hair and some techniques that make my hair look less flat: -Batiste - Batiste Dry Shampoo dry shampoo: its add some volume to your roots or where ever its sprayed and makes my hair look less flat, while also neutralizing the oils -unite - Expanda Dust Volumizing Powder literally adds volume and builda your hair up. You dont need to add alot, but where ever you add it, the more you work it in or brush it, the more volume you get. I usually work it into my roots around the part and add some texture around there. GARNIER - Whole Blends Castor Oil Remedy Leave In Balm this helps smooth my hair strands but also adds some texture.. I feel like it makes my hair look thicker towards the middle and ends. -I avoid brushing my hair throughout the week to keep that natural texture in my hair. Its weird to say but the tangles make my hair look fuller. -as I straighten out unwanted kinks, I also add a little curling motion just to not make my hair look so flat. I don’t actually straighten from root to tip- just where I have unwanted texture. -not washing my hair every day makes my hair look fuller as the days go by. I try to go 3-4 days without washing. The natural oils that build up in my hair is actually good for my scalp and roots as they help nourish. The dry shampoo at least helps neutralize their appearance and gives the added benefit of adding volume

How to stop your hair getting greasy? Only 1 product is enough!👉
How to stop your hair getting greasy? Only 1 product is enough!👉
I never thought I'd run out of a dry shampoo. After all, I used to wash my hair every day, and it was not oily. Another reason is that Batiste - Batiste Dry Shampoo, a hyped product, didn't work well. Spraying too much or too close could leave a lot of foam on my hair, which was difficult to remove. Its scent was also wired, and I didn't like it at all. Later in November, I saw a blogger recommended  Living proof. - Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo, which was not expensive. At that time I got a perm and needed to wash my hair less often. Then here came a question that my cruly hair tended to get oily, so I bought it to save my greasy hair. It was amazing!!! I really loved its scent and it smelt very comfortable. The most important thing was there was no more foam leaving on my hair!!! Plus, they are used in different ways. To use Batiste, leave 20-30cm of hair behind, and then spray and loosen the hair. After that, you need shake and comb your hair. While using Living Proof., you only need to wait 30 seconds, and then rub your hair. It's super easy! I often use Living Proof dry shampoo in the morning when I'm in a rush. If I don't sweat a lot, it would probably last 5 to 8 hours. That's more useful than Batiste which only lasts about three hours. Try Living Proof dry shampoo and you won't regret it! What's your fav dry shampoo?

Two hair products that saved my laziness!
Two hair products that saved my laziness!
When weekends come, I usually just stay at home and don’t want to leave my house at all after a busy week, not to mention spending half an hour or longer in the bathroom to take total care of my hair. The reason why I don’t say sorry to my hair (I should actually) is that there are some great remedies we can take to re-nourish our hair when we have time and mood to caress it. I recently found two products that help me to address some basic hair problems in a fast, easy way even when I don’t want to get out of my quilt.   I have straight hair which is really thick, and it doesn’t get tangled at all unless I dye my hair frequently. This oil elixir from Schwarzkopf is what I found really helpful on untangling hair and smoothing the hair texture. I bought this hair oil and immediately fell in love when its rose scent and it smells so much like rose and the texture is quite silky and balmy, not like some other hair oil I have used. When I had my hair dyed, it just became super dry, and there are some split ends as well. I tried this and it helped me get rid out of issues including dullness and dryness. My hair becomes so much easier to comb. I like to use it not just after the bath, but every time when I feel like some extra suppleness and glow on my hair. It is worthy to try this lightweight and sweet-smelling hair oil when you need some hair care but doesn’t want to wash your hair and do a hair mask.  Another holy grail is the dry shampoo. I believe most people have tried this because it is so famous and has a great reputation. My first encounter with this product was not a good story, to be honest; the one I used didn’t work well on me. Unlike the previous one which didn’t solve my problem, this new Batiste dry shampoo I am using can really help me to get rid of over-oiliness while providing hydration. It is so easy to use and convenient to carry it in my bag since it is in a small size. It is also lightweight and has a light, refreshing scent that I don’t hate. After a few seconds, it becomes completely invisible and no white stain left on hair at all. I like to use to when I realize I need to wash my oily hair but really tired to do so. Thanks to this product for saving lots of my time.  Batiste - Batiste Dry Shampoo
