Have you ever been to Iceland? A few years back I had the privilege of going to the famous Blue Lagoon Spa and got to try the amazing silica mask, which left my skin feeling super refreshed. Since that experience, I have been a sucker for any Icelandic/Scandinavian inspired skincare and when I saw the Skyn Iceland brand I knew I had to try a product. I settled on the Glacial Face wash and it did not disappoint! skyn ICELAND - Glacial Face Wash This has a gorgeous, creamy texture that feels very similar to silica or even like a clay. Once you lather and massage on the face, you can feel a deep clean with a slight tingle. My pores were so happy and my skin felt super clean without being stripped. This product contains white willow bark, arctic cranberry and arctic cloud berry which makes this cleanser ideal for oily/acne prone or combination skin types. It also contains oat, castor oil, jojoba oil and shea butter which assist in keeping the skin hydrated. My only problem with this product is that it is marketed for "stressed" skin, which can mean any skin type. I personally wouldn't recommend this for a dry/sensitive or rosacea prone skin as it would be way too drying and could potentially cause irritation. Otherwise, I would definitely repurchase this and would encourage my oily skin friends to give it a try.

This is for my chicas with dry & sensitive skin
Recently, I have gotten a few questions about the products in my skin-care routine so I decided to go through my skin-care drawer (yes, an actual drawer) for products both past and present that I have used, loved, and re-bought. I am going to share my PM routine because I really like to take the time after a long day to just pamper myself. Cleanse 🧼 I am currently using Avène - XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil as my go-to cleanser. Now, if I am wearing makeup I will first use my cocokind - Oil to milk cleanser to remove all my makeup. If I am going all-natural I will just use 1/2 pump of the Avène wash my face, and then repeat. Others I have used & loved CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser skyn ICELAND - Glacial Face Wash this product saved my life at the height of my hormonal and cystic acne phase Tone 🤍 I actually don't use a toner because I feel like it strips my skin too much for my delicate skin. But if you have one that you like please let me know! Eye-Cream 👁 BAG BALM - Bag Balm Ointment I have talked about it in my makeup-less routine. But bag balm is essentially Vasoline, but it is said to also erase wrinkles so ill let you know in 10-15 yrs how this is working for me. Treatments 💫 This is when I use my serums so above I have my tree of life trio which I talked about in my brand review of the Tree of Life if you are curious. But at night I will use the retinol serum, but only 2-3 times a week because it can dry out the skin. TREE OF LIFE - Hyaluronic Acid Serum - 72% ORGANIC TREE OF LIFE - VITAMIN C SERUM TREE OF LIFE - Retinol Serum Then featured above is my most-expensive skin-care purchase ever. SKINCEUTICALS - Blemish + Age Defense I use this on any and all pimples that show up. Unforantly because my skin is so dry is basically dryes the pimple and all surrounded skin so it just peels off. Because of this, I dispense the spot-treatment onto a qq-tip then hold it directly to the pimple. I probably won’t buy it again because of the $$ but I use so little of it with each use it might last forever. But it works Grand Finale: Moisturize 💧 VANICREAM - Moisturizing Skin Cream is my best friend and that's all I have to say. *Mayan Magic*. I did a whole post just on this one moisturizer so check that out and check them out! I do and have used Cetaphil and CeraVae moisturizers and they do work! Miscellaneous 📦 skyn ICELAND - Nordic Skin Peel I use these maybe once every week to two weeks just to exfoliate. I do love the brand as a whole so I might be jaded. Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectant I swear if you use this you’ll never have chapped lips again -hil <3

I picked this skyn ICELAND - Glacial Face Wash up on a great sale at Ulta. The consistency of this cleanser is somewhere between a cream and a gel and it really foams up! It has a milky/pearly color. I have dry skin, but I think that this wash is aimed at more oily skin types. I did like the feel and scent of this wash as it was very refreshing, but it left my skin feeling a little tight. It has moisturizing ingredients and oils, but I found it drying. This would be a good cleanser for acne-prone oily skin as it has salicylic acid! I would only recommend it to friends with oily skin. It is $30 usually, and I think that is a little pricey for this product. Have you guys tried this? I’d give it a 2.5/5 ⭐️ rating. Not a bad cleanser, just not great for my dry skin. I wish this was better explained in the product description.

What ingredients could be contributing to acne??
This is my day and night routine. I definitely have improved my skin but I still am having breakouts. I’m not sure if it is avoidable, since I have to wear a mask all day at work. I don’t use the exfoliants if I feel my skin is inflamed or irritated, but everything else I use daily. If I don’t wear makeup, I skip the cleansing oil.
