How I Get Rid of Pimple Marks in 3 Weeks!
How I Get Rid of Pimple Marks in 3 Weeks!
I started having acne breakouts back in October 2019 and I had no idea what was causing it. Pimples and dark spots were always there for about 6 to 7 months, I had no idea what products to use so basically I just lived with it, hoping they will all magically disappear one day.   Before I get into sharing with you guys how I got rid some the dark spots and actual acne as seen on the images on this post, let me give a back story—I grew up with 0 skin problems. Yes, you read that right, I didn’t go through that awkward teenage phase. Thus, I grew up having no knowledge about skincare.   It all started back in 2017 when I visited Seoul Korea during winter time—I did not have any skincare routine, and I would literally just wash my face with the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser and that’s about it. I literally had no idea which moisturizer is good for my skin, even more so what serums are for, or even what face mask would suit my skin type.   After 2 months of getting back from Korea, my skin suddenly started to feel dry, and that’s also when I started getting acne from time to time. I realized from there on that my skin type is normal to dry. Given that huge self-skin revelation, I started simple by incorporating the Nivea Soft Moisturizing Crème to my skincare routine and let me tell you that I have been using it daily, every day and night ever since! I promise you that it is lightweight and super moisturizing on the skin, and it won’t mess up with your makeup throughout the day.   Every now and then, I have been experimenting with other skincare products but I keep on ending up with sticking to my simple 2-step skincare routine. Fast forward to what has been happening to my skin lately, I realized that I had to try and look for something that would really work for me. After doing proper research and watching endless YouTube reviews, I finally found 3 products that worked best for my skin problems: 1.    Nivea MicellAIR Skin Breathe Acne Clear Micellar Water 3-in-1 Caring Cleanser 2.    Hada Labo Goko Jyun Hydrating Lotion 3.    Snail Truecica Miracle Repair Serum   I start off by cleansing my face with Cetaphil, pat my skin dry, then pour the Nivea Micellar Water onto a clean cotton pad and gently wipe it on my face. I usually consume 2-3 pads of cotton to make sure I get rid of all the excess dirt and makeup residue on my skin. After this step, I apply the Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion with the use of my finger tips to the drier areas of my skin and then let it dry for a few seconds before I apply the Snail Truecia Miracle Repair Serum on areas where I have dark spots. I finish off my skincare routine with the Nivea moisturizer and apply it all over my face.     After adding these 3 products to my skincare routine, I could definitely say that I had way less acne appearing on my skin, and that my dark spots are now getting lighter. Would I recommend these to anyone? 100% yes!

💳🛍I recently went on a book ordering spree... (😝one of my favorite things, besides skincare splurges) 💻 Even though we can get seemingly endless information about skincare online, I was curious to seek out some books because I love the tactility & I really hate reading on a screen. Regarding ingredients, there is a plethora of opposing information online, & I’m sure these books will yield some of that too. It’s important to cross reference your searches, meaning checking multiple sources & comparing that information. It’s also important to consider what site is providing the information & whom might benefit from it. 📚Swipe to peek inside📖 PRETTY ICONIC A Personal Look at the Beauty Products That Changed the World By Sali Hughes 2016 💄$18-$21 (paperback version) I was most excited about this one, I’m a big fan of pop culture history & of course I love beauty products. MAKEUP IS NOT (JUST) MAGIC A Manga Guide to Cosmetics & Skin Care Written & illustrated by Ikumi Rotta 2019 🌸$14 • 135 pages This super cute manga was translated into English earlier this year. It takes the form of a guide to the basics of Japanese skincare & makeup application by following a loose narrative of a young woman who writes about beauty products on social media (sound familiar?😻) I read a lot of manga, I’m impressed by this high quality paper! THE KOREAN SKINCARE BIBLE The Ultimate Guide to K-Beauty Secrets By Lilian Yang, Leah Ganse & Sara Jiménez 2018 Makeup chapter by Esther Sandoval 💗$13 (hardbound) 🇪🇸This was actually originally published in Spain as: ‘El Arte Coreano del Cuidado de la Piel’ It’s a cute little 189 pages, straightforward & informative. Derm Approved: Product Layering Secrets😍
Derm Approved: Product Layering Secrets😍
As skin care companies develop new products to improve our skin, it becomes more complicated and confusing as to how to apply all these products and get the best results.  If they are not layered properly, you won’t get the benefits and you will have wasted your money.  As a rule, products get layered from thinnest or lightest feeling to thickest. Morning routine: Cleanser - Always use warm water and pat dry. Never rub.  I like LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser or Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser Toner - You may not require one depending on the pH balance of your cleanser.  I do not personally use one. Essence - This helps to hydrate and nourish your skin.  I have patients that love SK-II - Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) Anti-oxidant serum - My fav is SKINCEUTICALS - Phloretin Cf With Ferulic Acid Eye cream - This is for everyone, but this step is especially helpful for patients with dark circles.  Pat the product gently into the delicate skin. Never rub.  Skinceuticals  makes a great eye cream called SKINCEUTICALS - A.G.E. Eye Complex for Dark CirclesAcne treatment Moisturizer - I like SKINCEUTICALS - Emollienceas well as Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream Physical  or Mineral Sunscreen - If you use a chemical sunscreen, it goes on before your moisturizer.  My fav chemical sunscreen is LA ROCHE-POSAY - Melt-in Sunscreen Milk SPF 60, and one of my fav physical sunscreen is #TIZO - TIZO3 FACIAL PRIMER SUNSCREEN[products]# Evening Routine: Oil cleanser to remove makeup -Always use warm water and pat dry. Never rub. I have used Neutrogena - Ultra Light Cleansing Oil Cleanser - Always use warm water and pat dry. Never rub. Toner - You may not require one depending on the pH balance of your cleanser. Essence - This helps to hydrate and nourish your skin. Acne treatment, exfoliator, acid or retinoid for anti-aging - I won’t live without my retinoids.  A great over-the-counter one is DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel Serum - Such as those that contain peptides and growth factors.  One of my fav is SkinMedica - Tns Essential Serum Eye cream- This is for everyone, but this step is especially helpful for patient with dark circles.  Pat the product gently into the delicate skin. Never rub. Thicker Moisturizer - If you have dehydrated skin, otherwise you can use your morning moisturizer. I like LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 Always remember to give your skin time to absorb the products.  Do not layer them one right after the other.  Always listen to your skin because it will tell you what it needs.  If it is extra dry, you may not want to use a toner, exfoliator or acid that night.  If you have any questions, always consult with your dermatologist.

PRODUCTS I’VE BEEN USING FOR OVER 10 YEARS!
PRODUCTS I’VE BEEN USING FOR OVER 10 YEARS!
I have oily and sensitive skin, that has always been true for my skin even when I was a teen. Growing up i had stubborn acne that led to acne scars which then led to hyperpigmentation. While my acne has calmed down and I now only get the occasional hormonal breakouts but my hyperpigmentation is still here. There are a few products that my dermatologist had recommended to me as a teen that I love and use to this day even though my skin has changed. Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser - when I had sever acne as a teen my dermatologist prescribed me all types of cleaners for my skin to help reduce my breakouts. A bunch of the cleaners we tried had harsh chemicals and irritated and dried out my skin. Cetaphil gentle cleanser is a water based gel like cleanser that helps to wash away dirt and bacteria without those harsh chemicals that strip skin of moisture. CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin - this moisturizer is super lightweight and gentle. It is a white lotion that is hydrating but not greasy. Because my skin is so oily I didn’t want something that was going to add much more shine to my face but rather something that was going to keep my skin hydrated just enough so that my skin would over product oils as a result of a lack of moisture. DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel - the formula has changed a bit since I was a teen so I don’t think it is as effective now as it was back then. Before it was only available with a prescription and now you can buy it over the counter. It has a white gel like texture. This was a game changer for my acne. It really helped to reduce the appearance of my acne and dark spots. It is one of the only acne treatments that doesn’t irritate my skin. I try different skincare products from time to time but I always keep these 3 products stocked to fall back on when other products don’t work to plan. I would recommend these products to people with sensitive skin. #CheriePartner

A life “savior” for dry skin and eczema
A life “savior” for dry skin and eczema
I have Perioral Dermatitis, which is just an extreme case of eczema, and anything can inflame it. THIS PRODUCT has been the only thing that has really caused it to not only calm it but go away simultaneously. This passed week I put an oil on my face that I knew I was allergic to yet still had the audacity to put it on. My eyes swelled up and my face was filled with allergic red spots. I have only been consistently washing my face with Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser which I luuuvvvvv, and moisturizing with GOLD BOND - Eczema Relief Lotion for the past week and it’s almost gone. Recommendation: I would highly, highly recommended this product to people who are prone to allergic reactions, sensitive or dry skin, or if you have eczema. This product has changed the game for me in so many ways. I’ve bought prescriptions medications specifically for my perioral dermatitis, but nothing compares to the work this has done for my face and skin. *This also may sting a little or to an extent depending on how severe your case is, for me it stung A LOT because my case was really severe and it goes away after 5 minutes but I didn’t mind. As of now it only stings a lil bit because it has reduced significantly.* Rating: GOLD BOND - Eczema Relief Lotion It’s rare that I ever give anything a five star approval because nothing really meets my expectations in the sense of really being life changing for me. At first I didn’t really like this product because I wasn’t washing my face the right way, I left a lot of dirt and residue to pick up with the moisturizer, but now it will always be found in my cabinet. I love this stuff and will forever recommend this to anyone who suffers with the symptoms I’m suffering from. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask, much love, much peace🤎

🌱My honest review: Thayers Witch Hazel Toner
🌱My honest review: Thayers Witch Hazel Toner
THAYERS - Unscented Facial Toner I picked up this product at my local CVS without any idea of what a good skin care routine was. My skin care routine at the moment was Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser because this is what my dermatologist recommended for my acne prone skin, which seems to work perfectly fine. I had nothing else so I was curious and I wanted to expand my routine. I had no idea what a toner is supposed to do either. Without any knowledge of what good or bad ingredients in a skin product are. I picked up this bottle because it seemed appealing to me. The two main things that drew me into this product were; ✅Unscented ✅Alcohol Free With this in mind, I knew nothing could go wrong. the first ingredient is water so why not give it a try? My personal thoughts: After months and months of using this product every single day I can say my skin has improved. Maybe because I am taking care of my skin a bit more. But this product feels like it hydrates my skin after cleansing it. There is a slight tingling sensation on my nose when I apply this product, this could be good or bad, I don't know yet. This feels more like I am just applying really nice hydrating water on my face. I can barely notice it after a few minutes. I would recommend this to people who use makeup on a daily basis and want to feel extra clean and hydrated. After researching a little more about this product I have noticed that a lot of dermatologists and steticians have mentioned that the ingredient Witch Hazel is a bit too drying for the skin and not good to use as a toner. I personally think that this product is perfectly fine to use as long as you moisturize after using it. I also think that since I am using the unscented version, there is no irritation on my skin or dryness. This product also contains aloe vera as one of their main ingredients which is perfect for hydration. Conclusion and final thoughts: I am halfway down the bottle and it has lasted me more than 10 months (wow!) Using it every single day. This toner is extremely affordable and economical for the amount you get in a bottle. I think this is a great product for people that use makeup often and want to feel extra clean and hydrated after cleansing. This does not feel heavy on the skin. It feels just like water. It is a light product, does not have any scent, and its alcohol free. I do like using this product because it feels refreshing on the skin after cleansing it, even though I don't use any makeup at all. I will finish the bottle and take a break from using this toner because at this point I don't think it serves me any real purpose because I don't use any makeup. I will test and see what happens to my skin and how it reacts while I am taking a break. If my skin seems fine, then there is no reason for this extra step. But if my acne comes back or my skin gets worse then I will buy another bottle and continue using it. ♡Love, Ana
