Makeup Routine for Sensitive Skin
I have sensitive normal-dry skin (depending on the time of year) and always look for products that are lightweight, hydrating, soothing, and that cover redness. With sensitive skin, you want to be careful when selecting and applying your makeup; your skin is likely very easily agitated and if you’re like me, you’re often dealing with redness. I struggle with redness on my cheeks, around my nose, and on my chin. For the most part, I try to avoid any products (especially face makeup) that is super heavily fragranced, because I can pretty much guarantee it’ll make my redness worse and/or cause a breakout. Here are some of the products that work for me and my sensitive skin and help to give me an even, glowy, but natural look! 1. COVER FX - Water Cloud Primer - this primer is very hydrating and soothing, it also helps to protect against blue light and pollution. I like to start with a hydrating primer, especially in the cold weather months, because my skin tends to be drier and I want my makeup to look smooth and even. If you find that your makeup clings to dry patches, make sure you are exfoliating 1-2 times weekly and adding moisture back into your skin with your skincare! 2. Quo - Quo Liquid Foundation (shade C3 Vanilla) - this foundation has a satin finish and always gives me a healthy glow (if you are oily you may need to set with powder but should still be able to wear this). I only use maybe 5-6 drops for my whole face because I like to still be able to see my actual skin. 3. HALEYS - Re:Cover Pressed Powder Foundation (shade 2.15 in the winter and 2.25 in the summer) - I am obsessed with this powder foundation; it melts into my skin and is so natural looking. It doesn’t make me look cakey or powdery and is so easy and quick to use. Typically I either wear this alone or I’ll use a bit of it over my liquid foundation in my t-zone to set it. 4. tarte - Shape Tape Concealer (shade Fair) - this is a holy grail in the beauty world for good reason, it has amazing coverage (can be drying). I apply a dot of this near the corner of my eye and another one near the outer corner, if my redness is really bad, I’ll also use a bit of this around my nose and on my chin. 5. ILIA - NightLite Bronzer Powder (shade Novelty) - I use a bronzer year round to warm up my skin & give a glow. This one is super pigmented so be careful! 6. essence - Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara (shade 02 Browny Brows) - I loooove this stuff, it’s so quick and easy and holds up really well throughout the day. Also it’s like $3!! 7..HONEST - Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer - this stuff is amazing! It has a primer on one end and really does give amazing length. 8.DIOR - Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss - gives my lips the best glossy look! It’s iconic for a reason😉 #CheriePartner

Daily mask makeup for a healthcare worker!
I know makeup and getting pretty has been the last thing on everyone’s minds for the past 5 months, but I think it’s still important to establish a morning routine somewhat similar to what we have always done. My workplace has recently become a testing site so I’m wearing the mask almost every minute I’m at work and taking care of these patients. For this reason, I’ve completely cut foundation from my daily routine. It’s just gotten super annoying and messy on my mask. So, I’ve been focusing on the eyes! I’ve been starting by using the elf putty primer on the middle of my forehead and on my cheeks. e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer I give this 3 stars because it feels nice on the skin, but I’m not really sure if it does what it claims... like it smooths out my pores a bit but it’s also kind of hydrating! Next, I start on eyeshadow! ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Norvina Eyeshadow Palette This palette is my go to for work because you literally can’t mess it up... ever. It blends flawlessly every time whether you set your eye primer or not. I usually go in with Incense in the crease with my fluffy elf brush. e.l.f. - Fluffy Eye Blender Brush I love this brush because it makes it quick and easy to spread eyeshadow throughout the crease. However, if you have hooded or small eyes you may not love it as much as I do. Then I use my finger to apply Rose Gold to the lid. Finally I’ll put passion just in the outer corner to create some depth (you can do this with your finger or with a smaller shadow brush.) After my eyeshadow is done, I dab a small amount of the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector on my under eyes starting just under my tear duct area — that is where most people tend to be the darkest. BECCA - Under Eye Brightening Corrector I’ll dust little bit of the Too Faced powder all over my face just to make sure I don’t turn into an oily mess by mid-shift. Too Faced - Peach Perfect Setting Powder Then, I add some bronzer around the perimeter of my face, being sure to blend it into my hairline. BECCA - Sunlit Bronzer I comb through my brows with the Make Me Brow from Essence. It’s cheap and does what I need it to! essence - Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara I would rate this 5 stars, but the hold does not last very long for me. I primarily use this to add some color and volume to my brow hairs! Then some mascara and I’m done! Rodial - Glamolash Mascara XXL The whole routine can take maybe 10-15 minutes! And I know it looks like I give 4 or 5 stars to basically everything I use but... I’ve realized life is too short to use anything but your favorite products! Especially now when we can all use a pick-me-up! #cheriepartner

The hunt for a Glossier Boy Brow dupe
What can I say, I’m just a girl who dreads waiting the 2-3 weeks for my Glossier package. Hence my hunt to find a dupe that’s a little more accessible in times of dire need (aka when Boy Brow runs out during a pandemic). So I tried a couple other options from the drugstore to see which was the closest to the real deal.. here’s what I found: essence - Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara The good: + So affordable! It’s like $3 at Shoppers Drug Mart. + Does do a good job of combing through the brows, coating them with a bit of colour, but still separating them. + The fibres in the gel definitely help give brows a fuller look! The not so good: - I find this formula to be a little more... goopy. - I feel like my brows don’t stay in place quite as well versus the other two products. - The wand is definitely bigger than the boy brow wand. This isn’t a big deal for me but I do have slightly thicker eyebrows. It just makes it easier to make mistakes and smudge some gel on the skin around your brow. - Shade range is very very small. No black option and no clear option. It’s not great :( e.l.f. - Wow Brow Gel The good: + Affordable and so accessible! It’s $4-5 and such a deal! I got this one from Walmart. + Formula is a little creamier (not as waxy) than boy brow, but still provides great hold and keeps brows in place all day. + The brush does a great job of shaping and filling in the brows with the fibres. + Overall, it was really hard for me to find a big difference between this one and boy brow! I think they provide very similar results. The not so good: - The brush is much longer than boy brow tip, which could make it a little harder to apply the product seamlessly. - They do have a slightly larger shade range, but I would love if they could add a clear option. The verdict: If you love Boy Brow and you’re looking for a drugstore dupe, I think you’ll be really happy with the Wow Brow Gel! Ps. Sending some love from Canada to anyone who needs it right now ❤️🇨🇦
I have typically oily skin that occasionally breaks out or gets dry spots. I also have acne scars along the sides of my cheeks. I have a light skin tone that has neutral undertones. I typically use brow gel to set my brows after going in with a brow pencil or pomade, but occasionally use them by themselves when I’m going for a natural look or in a hurry. . tarte - Double Duty Beauty Busy Gal Brows Tinted Brow Gel tames unruly arches, fills in sparse areas and tints grey or light hairs. It has a needle-like spoolie that is ultra-precise for subtle definition or bold brows. Amazonian clay helps prolong the wear time of this to 12 hours. I have the shade medium brown. The spoolie to me is too tiny and hard to grab all the hairs and put them into place. It is also very long, so if you try to hold it vertically, then you get it above and below your brows. It takes too long for me to try and even just brush the hairs into place, let alone try and get a bold look. I can’t tell how long it lasts because I can’t tell it makes a difference in my eyebrows besides just pushing them into place and making them slightly lighter. It doesn’t have a crunch or gel feel to them, they just feel and look brushed into place. The handle of the spoolie is too long for me and hard to get control of it to ensure I get a good outcome. It costs $18 for this full size (0.135 fl oz). . essence - Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara is a tinted gel formula that contains tiny fibers to fill in gaps to create fuller, more defined eyebrows. There are three color options, this is the middle shade 02 Browny Brows. I have gone through countless of these, I don’t know why I venture out and try other ones. This one is amazing, it has the perfect length for the handle so that you have complete control over where the spoolie is and goes. The spoolie is the perfect shape, it’s easy to hold it horizontal and do the tip of the eyebrow and then go across it vertical and just come the hairs into place. This definitely helps with the filling in of the brows due to the fibers in the formula and helps bulk up the brows and make them thicker. It does have a gel/firm feeling to the brows, but I like that because I know that a hair won’t go wonky. It lasts the whole day (~8-12 hours). This container lasts me months and I feel like I use a lot since my eyebrows are thicker, but I’ve heard a few friends tell me that they run through these quick. This full size is $2.99 for 0.12 fl oz. . The Tarte brow gel is not worth it. The more affordable Essence brow gel is better because it is easier to use and makes a difference in the fullness of your brows and keeps them in place. The spoolie is much easier to grasp and work with, plus the shape of it is much more conducive to shaping and filling in your brows. The fibers help add some bulk to your eyebrows and actually makes them look fuller. Ulta also puts this on sale sometimes for BOGO 40%, so even cheaper. ❤️

My Lazy Girl Makeup Routine
This routine is my go-to, everyday, makeup routine that takes less than 10 minutes. As you can see in my before photo, I have some redness and a couple of small breakouts. Typically what I focus on with my quick makeup routine is to even out my skin tone, add a bit of colour, and make my super blonde lashes & brows visible😆 1. First things first, I cleanse my skin with a micellar water and moisturize. If I have more time to get ready, I’ll go in with serums and treatments, but when I’m in a hurry I stick to basic skincare. 2. I always apply spf, and this SKINCEUTICALS - Physical Fusion Uv Defense SPF 50 is my absolute favourite. It’s tinted and gives such a nice healthy glow to the skin (it’s not shimmery or sparkly at all). 3. Next, I apply my FENTY BEAUTY - Match Stix Matte Skinstick (in the shade Linen) under my eyes, around my nose, and on my chin to help cover up some redness. This formula is honestly not my favourite for concealer, it’s quite dry and sometimes hard to blend but I’m just trying to use it up. I also have the highlight and contour shades and I do not like the highlight at all but don’t mind the contour shade (again, they’re both very dry). 4. Then I go over my entire face with my HALEYS - Re:Cover Pressed Powder Foundation (in shade 2.15) I just love this stuff. I’m a big fan of powder foundations in general because I find them so quick and easy to use. This formula melts right into my skin and I don’t find it to be drying at all on me. It has great coverage and doesn’t appear to be caky or too powdery on my skin. 5. I love a multi-use product for saving time and this cocokind - Chagaglo Bronze Highlighter is just that. I use a little bit of it on my cheeks to warm up my face and also dab it on my eyelids to add a little bronzy shimmer. It’s creamy and blends out well but doesn’t slide all over the place - love this one! 6. Next I added a bit of the ILIA - Color Haze Multi-Use Pigment to my cheeks and lips, I have the shade Before Today and it’s a beautiful petal pink. 7. Now it’s time for brows and I always use my essence - Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara (in shade 03) this stuff is SO GOOD and it’s like $3, I always purchase multiples at a time so I never run out. This one is the perfect shade for me and gives my brows great definition, hold, and colour. 8. Next up - lashes. I just started using this HONEST - Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer and it’s awesome! It has a primer on one end and the mascara on the other. I’m super impressed with the length it gives my lashes and the formula is very black. 9. My last step is spritzing my face with my CAUDALIE - CAUDALIE Beauty Elixir , this is a step that I never miss. I feel like it really blends everything together and makes it look much more natural. #CheriePartner

playing w makeup!!
ever since quarantine started, ive been playing around with makeup and taking pictures of the looks. i’ve been too nervous to put them on my instagram and they’ve just been sitting in my camera roll. i recently discovered this app, so i decided to put them here!!! i’m not a professional when it comes to makeup, i’m just someone who really finds it relaxing 🌸 on my face✨ NYX - Ultimate Shadow Palette i’ve had this palette FOREVER and it has never let me down! whenever i want to do a colorful look i’ve always reached for this one. i also wanted to venture into purple eyeshadow bc i saw that purple really suites hazel eyes! the purples in this palette are great. there’s a lavender color in here that i didn’t think would be really pigmented, but luckily i was wrong!! so beautiful and so easy to work with 💗💗 essence - Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara i use this everyday bc i can never do my eyebrows right with a pencil aahhh. it’s very natural and not too pigmented which i like for a brow gel bc it makes it easier not to mess up! tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush MY FAVORITE BLUSH!!! this was the first blush i had ever tried after having no interest in it whatsoever. i use the color risque and it is perfect for fair skin. such a beautiful color and lasts all day. however, it’s really easy to over do it, but, lowkey, i like that look lmaoo e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer i’m still trying to figure out this product. i’m very new to concealers and so far it’s very good! i think i just have a lot of fine lines under my eyes and just have to come to terms with it. blends out beautifully and never looks cakey! COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Tinted Moisturizer i’m also very new to tinted moisturizers, but this is AMAZING!! i love how it evens out my skin and it never leaves my skin looking greasy! p.s. idk how to get the pics to not be looped videos so sorry if that was kinda annoying ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
