If you’re wondering whether we have the same skin tone, here’s 3 foundations I’ve more-or-less matched with: L'ORÉAL - True Match Super-Blendable Foundation Makeupin N2/N3 Too Faced - Born This Way Natural Finish Foundationin Vanilla PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Super BB All-In-1 Beauty Balm Cream SPF 30 in Light Aaaaand through trial & error, I’ve learned the best colors for my skin tone are: Peaches Salmon tones Rosy pinks The last of which is the tone of today’s product! L'ORÉAL - Visible Lift Radiance Cheek Duo in Romantic in Rose. Their website says the product is discontinued, but it looks like Walgreens still carries it. And I hope it does, because I really like this product. 🌺 PRODUCT REVIEW 🌺 This is a very pigmented blush and highlighter duo. Both have sparkles in them~ But the blush’s finish is like satin, while the highlighter is somewhere between metallic/ natural. The product is easy to build up for maximum pigment. In my swatches, I just circled my finger on it for a few seconds and THAT was the result. It lasts pretty much all day, though someone with more oily skin may want to blot off excess sheen. It’s definitely not a matte product. Easy to blend, easy to match for any occasion- I keep it in a bag in my car in case I need to stay the night at a friend’s and need a back up makeup kit for the next day. 🌺 HOW I APPLIED IT 🌺 I put the blush on my: Cheeks Undereyes & in the crease Since peach and pink cancel out blue under eye tones, I applied it there. I was partially inspired by Momoko makeup from Japan, where blush tends to go near the eyes! I brought it up to my eyes and crease, where it was pigmented enough to double as eyeshadow. Which I love to make the look cohesive. Keep in mind that I applied with a heavy hand in these pictures! You can use a lighter hand to look more natural. 🌸 COMPARISON TO COOLER-TONED BLUSH 🌸 Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with using colors outside what anyone recommends for your tone. Actually, sometimes “unnatural” colors are the best for experimental, creative looks. But I put the blush MAKE UP FOR EVER - Artist Face Color Highlight, Sculpt and Blush Powder in S214 to compare because it’s noticeably more cool-toned than the L’Oreal product. Sometimes, I have trouble telling if something is cool or warm toned alone. But when you put them next to each other, you see the difference. I still love this blush for more metallic, goth-ish makeup! But still, it can help you notice the colors that may be trickier to pull off on us like Mauve or Fuschia. What recommendations do you have for finding good blushes?

Looking for yellow? I think I got you covered babe 🍯💛 I fell in love with this palette the second Colourpop released it! The metallic colors are oh so pigmented and so buttery I just wanna put them on my whole face! No😹not really. That would be creepy. As you can see this is a yellow focused pressed powder eyeshadow palette. 💛🍯every thing you need to create a look full of sunshine ☀️ this palette is everything you need to look bee-utiful ;) The only thing is the packaging is kind of cheap. I mean, it is only a $12.00 palette but I received mine with a broken hinge on the mirror part. And some of my shadows slip out. Even tho there’s a magnet, it doesn’t hold them good :( however, I ordered mine in December, and delivery people were super busy and probably rough with the packages as they wanted to be done with their day. So my package probably wasn’t so lucky :( I would still order this. In fact when I use this one up I am ordering another🍯💛☀️IM SO IN LOVE. And the Palooza big glitter color adds all the fun! ✨ Note: I think Colourpop is actually having a sitewide sale rn so I think this is only $8.40 :) which is even better! COLOURPOP - Uh-Huh Honey

I have oily skin and make up never seems to last too long. Over the years I’ve learned some ways to get more out of my makeup but ultimately the oil always wins. I also have hyperpigmentation all over my face so my makeup always needs to be full coverage so I can conceal it. When it comes to foundation I have tried both liquid and powder. Which is best for my oily skin? Liquid Foundation: when wearing a liquid foundation I’ve found that mattifying foundations are a must! It may look matte on the skin for a short while but when your skin is oily like mine you’ll end up looking dewy. I find that liquid foundations often look more skinlike than powder foundations however it is so hard to find the perfect shade my face always ends up looking a little lighter or darker than the rest of my body. Too much foundation can make my skin look cakey. Powder Foundation: i feel like powder foundations are easier to match to skin tone and easier to build up without looking cakey. However, powder foundations make my skin look dull even when using a highlighter and when combined with a mattifying primer and leave dry/flakey spots on the skin. Verdict: though there are pros and cons to both types of foundation I like liquid foundation better. It helps achieve a radiant skinlike look that I love! DUPE ALERT! Mac fix / L’Oréal true match
DUPE ALERT! Mac fix / L’Oréal true match
This foundation has always been my go to, #1 choice and it’s so cheap! I have tried so many different foundations and honestly, nothing compares. Even high end ones! After doing a lot of research, I found out that the ingredients in a lot of “drug store” brands are actually nearly identical to other more expensive makeup brands. I always wondered why the L’Oréal true match was SO good and now I know! It’s nearly identical to the Mac Fix that people swear by. You’re welcome 😘
