My full current routine
My full current routine
My skin is very acne prone skin and has been as long as I can remember, yet I’ve never been able to find anything that really works, you know? Thus, I’ve decided to put my current routine out there in the hopes that someone, anyone might be able to offer some advice or tips to help. Morning: wash with the 3.5%Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Cream Cleanser(I’ve searched for a 10% formula but I guess it’s not carried in Canada) tone withpixi - Glow Tonicwith 5% glycolic. Sometimes I also use THAYERS - Lavender Facial Tonerbut not as often anymore mix 3 drops of lavido - Invigorating Facial Serumwith 3 drops of íUNIK - Tea Tree Relief Serumand a pump of vitamin C serum from a local brand called Truly Lifestyle Brand. I’m not sure it’s the best to mix my serums like that but hey. Also the vitamin C serum is a 17% concentration. moisturize with Cetaphil - DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30. I actually do feel as if this has helped my acne but I could just be imagining it; I used to believe that my old moisturizer broke me out before I switched to this one. Sometimes I feel dry since it’s oil absorbing I guess but it’s not frequent. lastly isOLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème; I don’t suffer from dark under eyes but I still like this one. Evening: wash with same neutrogena face wash tone with pixi toner I used to use the proactiv md 3 step routine and although I don’t use the cleanser and rarely use the sunscreen-moisturizer, I recently started using the proactiv - Adapalene Gel 0.1% Acne Treatmentagain use the same serums minus the vit c serum moisturize with the CAUDALIE - Vineactiv 3 in 1 Vitamin C Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer. I’m not concerned about anti-aging, I was recommended this for helping with the skin barrier. Sometimes for nighttime I also mix this moisturizer with the LANEIGE - Cica Sleeping Maskor SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask spot treat overnight with CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel Weekly: one or twice a week, surprise surprise, I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution for my pores and to fade my dark spots. usually once a week, sometimes twice I use the AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Claywith acv a bit less frequently I use the alya skin. - Skin Pink Clay Mask, this one I feel is less effective than the Aztec clay mask but I still like it It might also be worth mentioning that I also have been taking 30mg of zinc which I heard helps with acne, and in the mornings I drink a mixture of acv, lemon juice, turmeric, and cayenne in hot water. I also used to juice celery but I don’t have a juicer right now so haven’t been doing that recently. I feel like that’s enough information but I love getting advice about skincare and talking about it so I’d be happy to give more info if anyone would like it😊😊

Can I Use Tooth Paste On My Face?!
Can I Use Tooth Paste On My Face?!
Umm, why would you do that? I cannot emphasize enough on the fact that using toothpaste or any other such substance is absolutely a no-go near your face. It is not safe, no dermatologist has tested it, and to top it off it is extremely harsh on the skin. All of the ingredients in your toothpaste are not meant for your acne, therefore, try to keep it away from your face at all costs. However, there are a few other things that you can most definitely use to keep your acne at bay or to dry them out. A little background about my skin before we start, I have a combination to oily skin, with more emphasis on oily. I have had occasional acne all my life, which means that I break out with my menstrual cycle. With that out of the way, here is the first remedy. I genuinely swear by this product, started using it when I was in school, and it has always been my savior. The Indian Healing Clay is one of my best purchases hands down. It is easy to use and shows effective results almost immediately. I mix it with equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water, but some people like to use only ACV, so that is completely dependent on you. Just remember to do a patch test before you use it all over your face. So what is it? It is a powerful clay sold in the form of powder, which deep cleans your pores and fights all the impurities leaving your skin clean. This mixture will dry out your acne in a matter of hours. The next remedy is more of a routine than an instant solution. But, I assure you that it works wonders. The Clinique Acne Clearing Set is a small compact size gift-set that I picked up from Sephora a few months ago. It has a cleansing solution, a toner, and a moisturizer (not pictured) in it. I started using it a week before my period and I honestly was not expecting anything, I was mainly interested in trying out the cream. However, what the other two products blew my mind. The cleansing solution is extremely lightweight and was an excellent product. The same goes for the toner. Both of these products helped me with not only the monthly acne but also with a few acne scars that I previously had. Safe to say, I am going to re-purchase this product shortly! I highly recommend you guys to check out both of these things and ditch all other household items that are not formulated for your face!

Teen Acne: Best Products to Help
Teen Acne: Best Products to Help
Quite recently I made a post about some tips and tricks that help with acne. Now I’m ready to recommend my favorite products that help deal with breakouts. —Serums— THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum This is a very affordable and effective serum that has a 10% concentration of niacinamide. Niacinamide can help reduce the appearance of pores, help with uneven skin tone, and lessen fine lines and wrinkles. -Fragrance-free. -Packaging protects air and light sensitive ingredients. -Includes skin-plumping hyaluronic acid and hydrating squalane. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This is very popular product from The Ordinary that always sells out because of how effective and and affordable it is. -Fragrance-free. -Weightless gel texture. -Contains a high amount of niacinamide. —Toner— PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliator This product has a really amazing formula and is one of my holy grails. It is a product that is higher in price but it is worth the investment. -Liquid consistency which is great for all skin types. -Soothing green tea calms redness. -Smooths clogged pores. —Spot Treatment- CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel This is another one of my holy grail products. This is a product I can always rely on since it gives me results overnight. -Come in a big bottle and since it is a spot treatment, this product lasts for a very long time. -High concentration of salicylic acid. -Includes laminaria saccharina extract which is great for deceasing oil buildup which can lead to breakouts.

How I Dealt with My Acne 🙌🏻
How I Dealt with My Acne 🙌🏻
A different kind of post today. I want to talk about how I dealt with my acne and why I think I don’t get it very often anymore ⭐️ This photo is me, today, without any makeup on. My skin isn’t perfect: I still have little bumps and very noticeable pores and textures. But compared to before, it’s improved so much and I’m happy with it. So here’s my take on it: 1) I believe acne has something to do with genetics and age (hormone level changes). My parents both have oily skin and had acne when they were young. They still have occasional pimple even now. So I don’t expect I can be acne free. My acne was the worst when I was in middle and high school and started to get significantly better since I turned 20. So here’s that factor. Acne also has a lot to do with what we eat, our sleep, our environment, our stress, our menstruations, etc, especially cystic acne. So that’s also something we can look into. 2) Don’t pick your pimples if it’s not like dry and 80% healed. That was my lesson. I still have some scars on the side of my face. 3) Treatment: small pimples can be a skin or follicle inflammation. if you have more oily skin like me, you are unfortunately more prone to acne because sebum can cause that. for these kind of small bumps I use a salicylic acid spot treatment such as CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gelor Murad - Rapid Relief Acne Spot Treatment. I alternate between these two. large, painful acne, or cystic acne, has more to do with hormones. if it’s really bad you should definitely see a doctor. I fortunately never got too many of these. but when I do, I have a process: if I feel it coming out, I use a salicylic acid spot treatment mentioned above to see if I can get it down before it even pops out. if it’s out and red, I use a sulfur drying lotion such as Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatmentor MARIO BADESCU - Glass Bottle Drying Lotionuntil it has a whitehead and is dried out. once it’s dry, you can actually pick it out with clean hands. then I immediately put an acne sticker/patch on it. the sticker will suck it flat and from then I go back to salicylic acid until it is fully gone. using acid every night all over my face definitely helps me stabilize my skin. you can choose aha or bha or whatever acid mostly suited for your skin type and condition. I also use a more intense acid treatment mask every week. changes in locations, changes in weathers, changes in our moods, our bodies. a lot of things can trigger acne. sometimes our skin really just freaks out and if we give it a bit time and be patient, it can heal itself. 4) After all, skin is our first barrier and protection against the outside environment and it fights for us so hard. All skins are good skins. 😇 Hope this post can help!

My morning routine for moistur
My morning routine for moisturized skin includes fresh - Soy Face Cleanser Jumbo this cleanser was given to me when I got my Clarisonic. It is very gentle and does a good job washing my skin without drying it out. I am finishing my EIGHT SAINTS - All In eye cream. This is an okay cream it doesn’t really sink in well but it is very hydrating. I will probably not rebuy and am looking for a new eye cream. Then I use SEPHORA COLLECTION - Ultra Glow Serum: Glow + Strengthen Vitamin C Serum I like the consistency of this serum but read a lot of reviews that say the vitamin c in this is not stabilized. I use it daily and I have noticed some glow but before I wasn’t using anything so I am not sure if it is just my routine or this specific product. I only use CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel when I need spot treatment. This works very well but it is drying and strong. The smell burns my eyes. I have been using belif - The True Cream Aqua Bomb Aloe Vera which is very hydrating this is my second sample size but I think I will repurchase this when it runs out. I then use BURT’S BEES - Tinted Lip Balm for my lips. I love the red Dahlia color but the smell is terrible. Keeps my lips moisturized though so the product works. Any suggestions for an eye cream or vitamin c serum would be appreciated. Thanks!

my newest skincare purchases!
my newest skincare purchases!
throughout the past few weeks my acne has flared up so because of that I decided to try a couple new products. first- The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I have only been using this product for about a week and already am in love. For those of you who don’t know, niacinamide is an ingredient that brightens the skin and help balance oil production. I have definitely seen less oil on my face throughout the day and when using this product, it’s not like many other products I have tried for pores that immediately dry out my skin, this as well hydrates the skin. I would recommend this to anyone with oily to combo skin but I have seen it has been out of stock everywhere so as an alternative I would try the inkey list niacinamide serum. second- CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel I had originally tried a sample size of this months ago and loved it. It immediately helped bring out the white head in my pores and I had been waiting for the mini size to come in stock to order it. My product finally came in the mail today and staring at it I am not sure the tiny .5 fl oz bottle was worth 18 dollars. Yes, the product does what it’s supposed to do but it does just that and is not very impressive. I glanced at the ingredient list and realized the product does contain two ingredients I am NOT a fan of at all. The FIRST ingredient was denatured alcohol. Denatured alcohol is an ingredient that will strip your skin but can tend to be very stripping to your skin. The fourth ingredient is witch hazel which is very simaler to denatured alcohol and acts like am astringent by drying out your pimples or pores. I rated this product a 3/5 because it does what it is said to do but, also is not worth the price and I don’t like the ingredients other then salycic acid. third- KINSHIP - Naked Papaya Gentle Enzyme Face Cleanser For a long time I had been using a cleanser that was way two stripping for my skin so I decided to try a more hydrating cleanser. First off the bat, I noticed that it had a super strong papaya scent that was not from fragrance but from natural papaya. An ingredient that stood out to me was aloe to sooth the skin. This is also alcohol free and fragrance free. This product was super soft on the skin and felt nice but I have been using it for three weeks and have not seen any results. It cleans your skin and gets rid of dirt but, it hasn’t helped with my acne and pores at all. I will give you an update if I see any difference in results in these products but for now this is how I feel. Have you tried any of these? If so what were your thoughts?
