Benefits of Rose Hip Oil
Benefits of Rose Hip Oil
Rosehip oil—also known as rosehip seed oil—is a pressed seed oil that has been valued since ancient times for its many healing properties, which makes it especially helpful for those with sensitive skin. "Rosehip oil is derived from the small fruit that sits beneath the rose," says Zeichner. "It is a popular ingredient in skincare right now for its hydrating and anti-aging benefits. Rosehip oil’s high concentration of omega-6 fatty acids (also known as linoleic acid) is particularly helpful for those suffering from acne. (BYRDIE.com) Let’s talk all the benefits of Rose Hip Oil. Replenishes lost moisturize Maintains healthy looking skin Provides barrier support Reduces the signs of aging Helps with collagen production Aids in healing scars Brightens and evens out the skin I decided to add this to my routine for all the above reasons. I can get dry skin especially when working with strong actives and this oil helps keep my skin in check! But one of the reasons I was most drawn to it was it’s ability to help reduce discoloration and scarring. I have too many scars from my bout with cystic acne that I am always drawn to products that claim they can help. I am on my second bottle of this will continue to keep this is my routine. My skin only needs a few drops and I get that healthy glow every single time. It easily absorbs into my skin. I have found it best to add this once any previous products have fully absorbed into my skin otherwise it can pill on me. Rose Hip Oil is such a simple addition to your routine without any side effects. I’m not sure how those with oily skin get along with it but I can’t see it being much of an issue if you use the suggested amount. It’s actually referred as a “dry oil” because it does absorb into the skin quickly. It will not clog pores. Those with dry skin will love this! Rose Hip Oil is high in vitamin A so please be mindful when working with retinoids. I’ve been able to use both together without issue but if you have sensitive skin it is something to be aware of. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil is only $9.80 and will last you a long time! I encourage you to do some research into Rose Hip Oil as there is just so much good stuff in this oil is worth investing the time, and I can only write so much. 🤪 Much ❤️ my @cheriefamily 🍒 #CherieCreator I’m off to rest. I’ve come down with something so I won’t be posting all I hoped to this weekend. As soon as I’m feeling better I will continue to share more products from my skincare routine video.

Facial oils.

Facials oils pla
Facial oils. Facials oils play an important role art of a skincare regimen. They should not be scared of, as choosing the right oil for your skin can bring only benefits. There are many myths such as they clog you pores etc, therefore it’s crucial to choose the right one for your skin type. There non comedogenical ones. I personally I use Borage and Rose Hip oils, also considering to try Marula oil. But I more than happy with those two from The Ordinary. 🌲Borage oil- it has a very thick a luxurious texture, it helped to clear up redness (not permanently), smooth skin and it also has anti bacterial properties. I prefer to use it during the day. It has needed gamma linolenic acids, stearic and palmitic acids. As going foundation free it helps with evening of the skin tone and keeping my skin calm. 🌲Rose Hip oil - it has a more lightweight texture than the Borage oil. It has a nice light orange colour which bring out the glow to the skin. It contains linoleic, linolenic and vitamin A. This oil helps to promote cell regeneration, which leads to anti aging properties, healing of scars, acne etc. I usually use it in the night to reduce sun damage during the day time. However, there are some contradictions in science, tho it makes you feel moistured as well as sealing in the hydration properties of other products, it’s unable to cover skin 100% as it dissolves into micro oil drops thus providing a semi covered space. But it feels very nice and calming on the skin. Those with oilier skin types would benefit from non comedonogenical oils, the loss of those could be found on google.

Nighttime Routine!
Nighttime Routine!
Here’s my current nighttime routine! I’m currently in the process of bringing some new products into my skincare routine and it seems like I’m liking everything but I want to give my honest opinion on what I’m currently using! cocokind - Facial cleansing oil This was kindly gifted to me from cocokind and I’ve tried it a handful of times! It definitely works well to remove my makeup and I really like it. However the smell is a little bit overpowering, and sometimes the pump gets a bit stuck. Other than that it’s a great oil based cleanser! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser I absolutely love this cleanser!! I switch between this one and the simple foaming cleanser. This cleanser is perfect because it’s not stripping, but my face still feels super clean afterwards. I love the texture and the scent of this cleanser and hopefully I’ll purchase the full size when I run out! Does anyone know of any dupes for this, it’s quite expensive lol. cocokind - Glow Essence This was also gifted to me by cocokind and I really like this product! It’s a light mist that makes my skin glow instantly, and gets rid of any tightness that may come after washing my face! It’s a great product and I love that it’s all natural! The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA This is the end of my third bottle of this acid! Quite literally a lifesaver!! In August of last year I reached out to The Ordinary and asked them for product recommendations for dullness, some light scarring, and super light acne! This serum is amazing for brightening up scars and giving more glowiness to my skin in general! When first bringing it into my routine my skin purged a little bit but it cleared up within 2 weeks and was definitely worth it! The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil This is my 3rd bottle of this oil, and I really like it but it can be just a tad too heavy on my skin even though I only use it at night. I still think that it’s a great product and will continue to use it! The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I’ve tried this moisturizer a lot honestly, but I’m never impressed by it. The consistency isn’t creamy enough for my liking and I don’t feel like it really locks in my products at the end of my routine. I’m hoping to find another moisturizer that feels less tight afterwards and really leaves my skin soft and supple! cocokind - Full brow balm This was gifted to me by cocokind, and I’m honestly obsessed!! This brow balm smells like fresh coconut, and holds my brows in place for pre-makeup application, and at night it helps stimulate growth. I’ve only been using it for a week, so I haven’t noticed any growth in my brows but I’m obsessed!! I really love this product. I hope you all recommend me some products and I’ll do the same!

The Ordinary Ultimate Guide to Mixing & Layering✨
The Ordinary Ultimate Guide to Mixing & Layering✨
There are a lot of myths about how to play with The Ordinary products. Some products you could mix and match, but some cannot. The followings are some notes that I took based on the research I did at Cassandra Bankson's Youtube Channel. I've also attached the link on the bottom. Hope you enjoy it.💞 Antioxidants: They don’t pair well with water. Don’t mix it with other products on your hands at the same time, and wait around 30 minutes to 1h to move to the next step of your skincare. Or you could use your antioxidants and contradictory products at opposite times a day, one in the morning and one in the evening.  The Ordinary - EUK 134 0.1%: Avoid mixing with Acids, Vitamin C, L Ascorbic Acid 100%, and Copper Peptides.  The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%: avoid mixing with water-based formulas and Copper Peptides  The Ordinary - Pycnogenol 5%: derived from pine trees. The most stable and friendly product to play with others. Avoid mixing with water-based formulas and Copper Peptides. However, the Vitamin Cs, retinol, and niacinamide can be used with this product.  The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanseris good at everything.  The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution: use only once a day. Be careful with other acid products when you use it. Try not to use it with any retinol, won’t make either of them very effective. Avoid mixing with most antioxidants, The Buffet, Copper Peptides. If you really want to use peptides, you should use the toner first and let it soak into your skin for around 10 mins, and then go for the peptides.  Acids:  The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution: it’s very strong, don’t use it alongside with other acids. Avoid mixing with EUK 134, any peptides, and 100% L Ascorbic Acid. After rinsing it off, you can use Niacinamide & zinc, or any of the hyaluronic acid products. The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%: comes as a cream, which is more stable. Always patch test before putting on your face. Avoid mixing with EUK 134 and Copper Peptides. Ascorbic acid powder or non-copper peptides MIGHT also cause irritations. Except these, this plays well with pretty much everything else.  Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Mandelic Acid, and Salicylic Acid: avoid mixing with other acids, EUK 134, Copper Peptides, and 100% L Ascorbic Acid. Acid and Vitamin C can really sting and burn your skin.  All of the hydrators and oils really play well with other products, no contradictions at all.  The Ordinary - 100% Organic Virgin Sea-Buckthorn Fruit Oiland The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oilhave high amounts of beneficial properties to them. Pairing with a sunscreen if you want to use them during the day.  The Ordinary - Amino Acids + B5: avoid mixing with other strong acids.  More Molecules: The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA: this plays well with pretty much everything. Be aware of other antioxidants because it is a water base.  The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG: no contradictions. Water based serum.  The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%: avoid mixing with any Vitamin C products from the ordinary  Peptides: The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1%: it doesn’t play well with anyone, specifically avoid mixing with acids, Vitamin C, and antioxidants. Same thing for the regular “buffet” even though it is much more stable.  Retinol: The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion: contains water, no antioxidants with it, except for the pine derived pycnogenol, which works very well with it.  Retinol in squalene: oil-based. All of the ordinary’s retinoids play very well with their peptides.  Sunscreen: NO contradictions 🎉🎉 Vitamin C: avoid mixing with EUK 134, other acids, any peptides, and Niacinamide. Great with other vitamin C and sunscreens.  Check the link below to watch more details from Cassandra.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fnrqHWLS_U And let me know if you have any questions or thoughts about The Ordinary products. 💖💖💖

Serum doesn't work for you? Here's what's next!
Serum doesn't work for you? Here's what's next!
It's happened to all of us. You buy skincare product, your skin breaks out, it hangs out in the back of your closet for 3 years. But what if you COULD find a way to get it to work for your skin? Read this! Patch testing Sometimes an ingredient just doesn't agree with your skin. People have allergies, sensitivities, and reactions that can make people's skin go crazy. But some of the time, you can make a product work for your skin! If you can pass a patch test, you can most likely find a way to make a product work for your skin. (most likely) Directions Okay, okay. i know this sounds really obvious, but READ 👏 THE 👏 INSTRUCTIONS👏. It's alright to use it differently than what the package recommends, but still make sure you know what you're doing. The people who formulated this product KNOW what they're doing (most of the time 😏). Read them! Tolerance So many people hate on The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution because they didn't build tolerance. With certain ingredients, like aha's, bha's, retinols, etc. you need tolerance before you start going into higher percentages. Before buying the ordinary peeling solution, try starting out with The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 5% + HA . Then with your way up to higher percentages! Moderation A lot of the time, you are applying way too much of a product, way too often. Instead of using a product everyday, try using it once per week in moderation! Whether this means only using it in specific areas, mixing it with another product, or just using less of it overall. This worked for me with The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% and The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil . Research Do your research on the product! Maybe it's just a sucky product? Or maybe there's someone just like you out there who found a way to make that product work for their skin! There is all kinds of information on the internet! Time to let go Sometimes you just have to let go of a product. But doesn't necessarily mean you have to throw it away! Try giving it to someone else! Maybe it would work better for your mom's skin or your friend's skin! Sometimes products are just overall trash, and if you really have given up hope, you can throw it away. Do try to recycle the container, if you can though! Thanks for reading 🙂

Rosehip Oil? Yes please!
Rosehip Oil? Yes please!
It’s no secret that rosehip oil is such a big part of the skincare world as it is loved by so many people! It has a variety of benefits that people of all skin types (not just dry) really can love! I would love to explain why I think rosehip oil is a must in my skincare routine! Benefits? Brings extreme hydration to the skin. Fatty acids work as a rich moisturiser. Reforms dull skin within time. Reduces inflammation and congestion. Reduces acne scars and hyperpigmentation Improves overall skin tone to be brighter. Reduces wrinkles. Who is it for? Generally, people with dry, normal and combination skin types are recommended rosehip oil to rehydrate their skin however, anyone can use rosehip oil! Although it has the word ‘oil’ in it doesn’t mean that those with oily skin types should stay away from it! There has been a lot of research regarding oily skin skin exposed to rosehip oil and there have been several benefits including it has acne fighting ingredients as skin absorbs rosehip oil quickly it won’t clog up pores making it perfect for any skin type. How should I apply rosehip oil into my skin? I would recommend dropping 2-3 drops of rosehip oil onto the palm of your hand and pressing gently into all areas of the skin. This way it presses the oil into your skin rather than if you were to rub it in - it would just sit on top of the skin rather than sink in. Tips? If you have read some of my other posts you would have probably realised I use rosehip oil a lot! I find it very versatile such as if my foundation/concealer (liquid makeup) is a bit to drying for my normal-dry skin type, I add 1 or 2 drops into the bottles which leaves my makeup looking flawlessly hydrated. I have used this trick since I got into makeup in high school and it has been a staple ever since! Rosehip oil recommendations? There is so many on the market at the moment of all prices, I have tried multiple and these are my top 3 picks! trilogy - Certified Organic Rosehip Oil The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil essano - Certified Rosehip Oil Thanks for reading! I hope you also enjoy using rosehip oil! Leave any Q’s if you’d like! ☺️
