Actually no-makeup
Actually no-makeup
The whole no-makeup makeup trend has gained a lot of popularity recently. But truly, if I am going to aim for a natural look I would rather just not wear makeup. Here’s how I achieved my look • Wash your face 🧼 CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser Avène - XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil • Ice cube facial. I swear by this, and it’s really not a facial but it sounds cool. I wrap an ice cube in a paper towel wait for the towel to dampen, then I just rub it all over my face. It helps with de-puffing, fights inflammation, acne, wakes you up in the mornings. • Moisturize! VANICREAM - Moisturizing Skin Cream • Next, I mix my sunscreen PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Mineral Naked Broad Spectrum SPF 45 UVA/UVB Protective Lotion . It’s not my favorite, I do think the color is always just a little bit too light. However, I almost always mix it with DRUNK ELEPHANT - D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops . This gives me sun protection with a bronzed glow. • Curl those lashes • BAG BALM - Bag Balm Ointment this has been a product that has been passed down in my family. Seriously, my grandma used it as a kid. It’s similar to Vaseline. Basically I just apply it wear I would put highlighter for some glow.

The Worst Physical Sunscreen Award Goes To...
I want to share with you the worst physical sunscreens I've ever used. REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Clean Screen Mattifying Face Sunscreen SPF 30 It's US$36 and has a thick and sticky texture, leaving a white cast on the skin. It can't spread evenly at all, no matter what skincare products I've applied beforehand. Supergoop! - Smooth & Poreless Mineral Sunscreen It's US$38 and has a silky texture that leaves skin greasy. It's difficult to wear makeup afterwards as it balls up and rubs off easily, so it's quite useless. CLINIQUE - Pep-Start Daily UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 50 It's US$19.50 before tax and I've three tubes of it at home. It has a runny consistency and creamy texture, naturally brightening skin complexion but not leaving a white cast on the skin. It's a little greasy when first applied on the skin, but this is the same with all physical sunscreens. It neither affects my follow-up makeup nor does it cause any skin problems. But I think the same series SPF 30 Sunscreen does nothing much. It's best to use it up as soon as possible after it's opened! PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Mineral Naked Broad Spectrum SPF 45 UVA/UVB Protective Lotion It's US$38 and it has a thick and heavy texture. The paste and oil separate after it's not used for a few days, so you end up just squeezing oil. Avoid this lotion if you dislike a greasy texture. If you're into physical sunscreen, give Murad - City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA++++a go. It's literally the best physical sunscreen I've ever used.

Happy Monday everyone! I figured I would start off the week with a post about 2 facial sunscreens that I love using! SPF is such an important part of my morning skincare routine as I want to prevent UV damage to my skin and pre-mature aging. Even though we don’t spend all day and every day out in the sun, our skin could still become damaged by UV rays. Sunscreens with SPF 30 or higher should be used when possible. The PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Mineral Naked Broad Spectrum SPF 45 UVA/UVB Protective Lotion is my favourite of the two. It has a universal tint which isn’t too dark for my fair complexion, and it’s actually quite hydrating. It contains vitamins A, C, and E to provide antioxidant protection, and diamond powder to provide a flawless finish. It is $50 for a 1.7 oz. bottle, so it is a little on the steep side. The SKINCEUTICALS - Physical Fusion Uv Defense SPF 50 is also quite nice, as it has a transparent finish. The ingredient that makes it unique is the artemia salina, which is a plankton extract to allegedly help boost our skin’s natural UV defence. This 1.7 oz. bottle goes for $48, also an expensive option If you’re looking for something more affordable, Supergoop! has their Play Everyday Lotion with SPF 50 for $29 for a 2.4 oz. bottle. What’s your go-to sunscreen?

SUNSCREEN REPORT
SUNSCREEN REPORT
I’m finally ready to drop the full low down to help you find the best sunscreen for you (bc if you aren’t wearing your SPF, it’s TIME TO START)⠀ ⠀ • the best for wearing under makeup: Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 (chemical) is amazing for full face days bc it doubles as a primer! Velvet matte finish, no white cast (it’s clear!) and also doesn’t have that sunscreen scent ⠀ • the best for dry skin: PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Sheer All Day Moisture Defense Lotion SPF 30 Sunscreen Lotion (chemical) is thick and contains ceramides and aloe for hydration. Initial white cast at first application, but this lotion absorbs quickly and gives a healthy glow✨⠀ • the best to protect your eyelids: my long time faveORIGINS - A Perfect World SPF 20 Age-Defense Eye Cream with White Tea (SPF 20, mineral) I mean why don’t all eye creams have SPF?? With skin in the eye area being the thinnest, it definitely needs protection and this one is great for also providing anti-aging benefits ⠀ • the best for running errands: PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Mineral Naked Broad Spectrum SPF 45 UVA/UVB Protective Lotion for those days you want a little tint and radiant finish to get that sh*t done. The tint combats white cast and also blurs for no makeup days⠀ • the best for reapplication: Supergoop! - Supergoop! x Rebecca Taylor Setting Mist (SPF 50) is the most delightful sunscreen experience you will ever have I PROMISE. It’s cooling, refreshing, and settings your makeup. win win win.⠀⠀ ⠀ Final note: PETER THOMAS ROTH - Instant Mineral Broad Spectrum SPF 45 Sunscreen this was a miss for me as the bristles are pokey and shed everywhere and it is hard to get any powder out. ⠀

Wear your 🧴SUNSCREEN petertho
Wear your 🧴SUNSCREEN peterthomasroth made sure of this. •Max Sheer All Day Moisture Defense Lotion SPF 30 Have used this one before. It has a thicker consistency than the others but spreads easily and melts into the skin. Leaves a light white cast initially but quickly disappears. Contains ceramides, Aloe and Vitamins. That is neat. The packaging is very nice and user friendly, Airless Pump. •Instant Mineral SPF 45 Just started using this. I don’t know how I feel about it yet. •Max Mineral Naked Broad Spectrum SPF 45 Lotion - used it twice and so far it is OK. The tint is not crazy and works well for my skin. .

Friday favorites ft. some of m
Friday favorites ft. some of my favorite sun protection products! . . The peter thomas roth max mineral naked has a slight pink/nude tint that blends in really nicely. If I keep my routine simple I don’t have ANY pilling which is amazing! But if I layer too much before...no bueno. Love the glow this leaves behind, and it’s a 45 SPF so I know I’m getting good protection! . supergoop has been one of my favorite discoveries for SPF this year! The Unseen Sunscreen (40SPF) acts almost like a primer. It leaves my face with a matte/satin finish and feels so smooth. The Superscreen Daily Moisturizer (40SPF) is great when I’m doing a minimal routine. I will use this instead of a moisturizer and it looks a bit greasy at first but sinks in after a few minutes and keeps my skin hydrated!
