Skincare Trend - Superfoods 🥬
Skincare trends! Do you follow, skip, or wait for others to give you their honest opinion? Well if you said the latter then I am here to tell you all about this superfood skincare trend and more specifically the kale, green tea, and spinach superfood trend 🥬🥬🥬! The way I found out about this trend was by searching on Instagram and seeing what my fellow beauty bloggers were sharing! For reference, I have oily combo skin with subtle dry patches during the winter season! At the moment my skin is relatively clear with large pores as my main concern. First off is the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser ($10.00 - 2 oz). This cleanser is cold-pressed with antioxidants to remove makeup and prevents build up in the pores, while keeping skin’s pH balanced. It’s meant for most skin types (dry, normal, combo, and oily). You can use it in the morning and evening, however I mainly use it in the evening to truly clear my makeup from the day! Unlike other makeup cleansers, you should dampen face and use two pumps of the superfood cleanser. Then add water gradually to get all makeup off from the face! P.S this product comes in a glass bottle making it great for the environment and recycling! Next superfood spotlight features the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream with kale, spinach, and hyaluronic acid ($48.00 - 2 fl oz). This thick yet lightweight cream is perfect for oily combination skin! It’s full of antioxidants, rich superfoods, and hyaluronic acid! It targets the following concerns: fine lines, wrinkles, dryness, and loss of fitness. The kale is full of vitamins C, E, ana K! The green tea is packed with antioxidants, and HA is a natural hydrator! I like this moisturizer is perfect for my current issues! Like I mentioned before I have oily combination skin and dry spots with the changing weather on the east coast! I’ve been using Youth to the People for a few months and I am excited to share I am a big fan of the products, but they do run on the more expensive side 😕. This is a vegan, cruelty free, and gluten free skincare line! And as far as the skincare trend featuring superfoods, well I am 100% a fan and encourage all to hop on this bandwagon because you will not regret it! Superfoods bring so many benefits to our skin and it would be a shame to not spread the word around for all to hear! #CheriePartner

🧼 Cleanser for Oily/Combo Skin 🧼
I've been really into cleansers lately and have been trying out a bunch of different ones. The main thing I'm looking for in a cleanser is clean skin BUT I absolutely do not want to feel tight or like my skin has been stripped of healthy oils. I've been reaching for the Youth to the People Superfood Cleanser pretty often and really enjoying using it! I have combo skin (I'm oily in my t-zone and pretty normal every where else) so I need a cleanser that will get rid of the bad oil, but leaves the good ones. The other cleanser that works pretty well with my skin type of the Kate Somerville's ExfoliKate Daily Foaming Cleanser. It foams up really well making it a great one to use in conjunction with my Clarisonic. Pros: ➕ both work well with combo skin and oily skin ➕ they leave the skin feeling clean but not stripped ➕ easy to find in Sephora ➕ only a tiny amount is needed for both cleansers Cons: ➖ glass packaging of the YTTP cleanser makes it to heavy to travel with ➖ ExfoliKate is a great overall cleanser but I don't think it does it's "job" of exfolianting Overall, the YTTP cleanser is definitely sticking around and worth every penny! I don't think it's expensive at $ 36, especially since it will last forever. This is a product I held out on trying because so many people raved about it and I just thought it was too good to be true, but the hype is definitely real! The ExfoliKate Cleanser is a great cleanser but I don't feel like I need to repurchase it. I like it but just don't love it. I don 't think an "exfolianting" cleanser that uses only acid exfoliants is super effective when compared to things that stay on the skin longer like a acid toner or a mask. Youth to the People dreams ☁️🌈
Me: DRY skin in winter (combo in summer), very sensitive/reactive/allergic, currently acne prone, also have a nose that is very picky about scents Onto my next bunch of brand minis, I tried the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - With Pride Minis Kit Overall excellent kit for the price, all good products worth trying, and generously sized minis! Least Favorite: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial This one was just kind of anticlimactic for me. It smelled nice, it worked fine, it didn’t bother my skin, but I also didnt see much of a difference? Overall good physical exfoliator, but maybe physical exfoliators just arent for me. The next physical exfoliant I’m trying is the GOOD MOLECULES - Pineapple Exfoliating Powder Second Place: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser I liked this cleanser. As a dry skin person I was SURE this would be too stripping, but actually it wasnt too bad! I am definitely more of a creamy cleanser person, but I can see myself loving this in summer. I like the ingredients, and i like the green juice smell. Overall ~4.5 stars. My next “green juice” cleanser to try is the Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser The Absolute Best 😍😍😍: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask literally a dream. Hydrated and glowy and smooth and so much more. I’m realizing that it is quite hard to get both hydrated AND glowing. This smells delicious and makes my face feel like a baby’s butt in the morning. Absolutely 10 stars all around. I’m trying out another vitamin c sleeping mask (KORRES - Wild Rose Vitamin C Brightening Sleeping Facial) but honestly, I dont even know why because i should just take the plunge and buy the jumbo size of this dream mask ☁️🌈 How do you feel about YTTP? I’m curious to try the moisturizers. I love the green smell but I’m guessing the superfood air whip moisturizer will be too light for me. Any dry folks who have tried both? Also need to try the superberry oil, especially if it smells like the mask! Also, which of their two eye creams would you recommend trying? Leave it in the comments!

Battle of the Cleansers! 🧼 PART TWO
I have so many cleansers I had to make two posts about it! Here’s the second half, be sure to read part one for the other cleansers I reviewed. MY SKIN: Dry, crazy sensitive, prone to redness with a few breakouts here and there but nothing crazy. DISCLAIMER: This is just my personal experience with the products and I by no means speak for everyone’s experience. Maybe you love these products, and if they work for you, that’s amazing! If they don’t, I hope you find something that does! But if you haven’t and are looking into any of these products, I hope I can help you make an informed decision. Thanks! fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash this product highlights sugar and strawberry to exfoliate and brighten skin. My honest opinion: I know, I know, scrubs are bad and evil. I hear it all the time. However, every time I use an exfoliating active my skin loses its mind and turns bright red and can sometimes sting for a whole 24 hours after I use it. Until I find an active that doesn’t completely destroy my skin, I’m sticking to scrubs. Sugar is a great scrub since it dissolves with water, meaning the risk of over-scrubbing is minimized. And I scrub VERY gently. Since my primary concern with exfoliating is dead skin and not acne, this works just fine for me. It’s definitely one of the most gentle scrubs I’ve used, so if you just need to use a scrub like me, this is a great one to use. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample This product highlights cantaloupe and glycerin as it’s key ingredients to deeply cleanse all of the day’s impurities. My honest opinion: I used to use this as my summer cleanser daily for a long time. This is probably my 3rd bottle of it. So what happened? This cleanser did wonders for my skin when I lived in a hot and sweaty environment to clean all the gunk and full face of makeup off of me. But my life changed (and lbr so did the world) this year. I live in on a completely different side of the world and I stay indoors, rarely wear makeup and my skin has gotten a lot drier and this cleanser just doesn’t do it for me anymore. The surfactants are too stripping for dry skin. So, I’m breaking up with this cleanser. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser This product highlights kale, green tea, spinach, and vitamins B, C, and E to remove buildup and balance pH without drying. My honest opinion: Y’all, I am IN LOVE with this cleanser. I picked up the YTTP Mini kit and used the whole bottle up and purchased the full size without a second thought! The INCI list is short and sweet, full of antioxidants and just feels amazing. I walked around sephora with it and every single person I saw was like “yes that’s my fave!” Honestly this is a stellar cleanser for dry skin and I highly recommend it. Full disclosure it does have fragrance and chlorophyll as the last two ingredients, but I haven’t had an issue with it. Big love!!

Here’s my current nighttime routine! I’m currently in the process of bringing some new products into my skincare routine and it seems like I’m liking everything but I want to give my honest opinion on what I’m currently using! cocokind - Facial cleansing oil This was kindly gifted to me from cocokind and I’ve tried it a handful of times! It definitely works well to remove my makeup and I really like it. However the smell is a little bit overpowering, and sometimes the pump gets a bit stuck. Other than that it’s a great oil based cleanser! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser I absolutely love this cleanser!! I switch between this one and the simple foaming cleanser. This cleanser is perfect because it’s not stripping, but my face still feels super clean afterwards. I love the texture and the scent of this cleanser and hopefully I’ll purchase the full size when I run out! Does anyone know of any dupes for this, it’s quite expensive lol. cocokind - Glow Essence This was also gifted to me by cocokind and I really like this product! It’s a light mist that makes my skin glow instantly, and gets rid of any tightness that may come after washing my face! It’s a great product and I love that it’s all natural! The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA This is the end of my third bottle of this acid! Quite literally a lifesaver!! In August of last year I reached out to The Ordinary and asked them for product recommendations for dullness, some light scarring, and super light acne! This serum is amazing for brightening up scars and giving more glowiness to my skin in general! When first bringing it into my routine my skin purged a little bit but it cleared up within 2 weeks and was definitely worth it! The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil This is my 3rd bottle of this oil, and I really like it but it can be just a tad too heavy on my skin even though I only use it at night. I still think that it’s a great product and will continue to use it! The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I’ve tried this moisturizer a lot honestly, but I’m never impressed by it. The consistency isn’t creamy enough for my liking and I don’t feel like it really locks in my products at the end of my routine. I’m hoping to find another moisturizer that feels less tight afterwards and really leaves my skin soft and supple! cocokind - Full brow balm This was gifted to me by cocokind, and I’m honestly obsessed!! This brow balm smells like fresh coconut, and holds my brows in place for pre-makeup application, and at night it helps stimulate growth. I’ve only been using it for a week, so I haven’t noticed any growth in my brows but I’m obsessed!! I really love this product. I hope you all recommend me some products and I’ll do the same!
The Ordinary-100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
youthtothepeople Kale Green Tea Spinach Superfood Cleanser First, it's the packaging. The glass bottle shows off the green cleanser which looks beautiful on any counter top with the simple and clean labeling. Oh, and perhaps the more exciting part? It's the superfoods ingredients. SLS free, vegan, no added fragrance or color; even the green coloring is due to the Alfalfa. Then, Kale in the formula works to keep the skin healthy with phytonutrients and vitamins C, E and K. Spinach will help soothe the skin with its cooling properties, and Green Tea is used as an anti-inflammatory packed with essential fatty acids. They're excellent antioxidants and great at fighting free radicals. Probably from the flower extracts, this cleanser has a luxurious and fresh green scent. The consistency itself is a bit between a gel and a liquid. It's light in texture and doesn’t foam much at all, but it's enough to provide comfortable slip to dissolve dirt, excess oil and makeup residue. With that being said, this cleanser may be good enough for a second cleanse, but it definitely won’t do well with more stubborn makeup, especially mascara. One pump is all I need to completely clean my face and give it a soft and fresh feeling but not stripped. It's super gentle and doesn't ever cause unwanted side effects. I didn’t feel that it left a film on the skin and it's not hydrating, but I love that cleansed and balanced feeling this cleanser gives. Have you tried this cleanser? What’s been your experience with it?
