💧Hair mask awards💧
💧I decided to get together my hair masks & decide my favorite & which ones really work! All three of these smell delicious & clean. Two are full size one is a travel, but all work & all are similar in price. 💧What are the claims? •Living Proof Restore Mask Treatment - A powerful silicone free conditioner treatment that nurtures dry, damaged hair for long lasting shine, softness & smoothness. It is for all hair types & textures. It is a cream formula & the key benefits are to reverse damage & protects against heat & split ends while moisturizing. •Amika the Kure Intense Repair Mask - An intensive weekly treatment that instantly repairs & resuscitates dry, damaged, over stressed hair. It is for all hair types & textures. It is a cream formula & it’s key benefits are improving manageability, reinforces & strengthens the hair, & restores & softens. •Madam CJ Walker Inches Reconstructing protein mask- A hair treatment made with Carolina rice protein & azalea, which help rebuild dry, damaged & brittle hair. It is a thick cream formula, For all textures hair types. & formulated for frizz, damage, breakage, & split ends. 💧My thoughts/Opinions? I personally love all of these masks, and they are all my favorite in one way or another! I’ve had the Amika & Living proof mask before so I know I love them already. The Inches mask was new to me, but has quickly become one of my favorite masks. They all leave my hair feeling hydrated & soft. Let’s get into the reasons they won their awards! After several weeks of using the Living proof for the first time I saw lasting results in my hair, it does exactly what it says it does. My hair wasn’t breaking anymore & felt so moisturized The smell is amazing, and Living proof has one of my favorite scents. Their products all really work & im so glad I’ve had this mask to help repair my damaged hair Next, the most nourishing mask, the Amika mask, is something I use if my hair is feeling extra tangled or dry & brittle! I use this if I have used extra heat on my hair during the week & my hair is so much softer & smoother. It is a thick mask, so it penetrates very deep & leaves your hair feeling bomb. Madam CJ walker hair mask, is best for when I want to wear my hair naturally curly/wavy. This hydrated & defines my curls so nicely. It doesn’t make them poofy or frizzy. It manages them so well & it smells like flowers. I also like the small squeeze tube it makes it easy to get the product out of the container. 💧Price VsSize? •Living Proof - $38 for 6.7 oz of product •Amika - $38 for 8 oz of product •Madam CJ Walker - $26 for 6oz of product Madam CJ walker is the most price friendly & it is my favorite for curly hair! So I will defiantly be purchasing the full size product when I run out of this one! As some one with curly hair I do mask all the time to help my hair... I put this in my hair and the scent gave me allergic reaction and my husband the biggest headache.... it’s thick but doesn’t feel as good as others would not recommend amika: - The Kure Intense Repair Mask

amika soulfood nourishing mask
amika soulfood nourishing mask - she’s meant to deeply condition, hydrate and restore dry hair back to its optimal state of vibrancy and health. Jojoba seed oil is there to penetrate the hair follicle and fill in cracks on the cuticle surface, strengthening hair from the inside out. Vitamin C is there to assist in hair growth, repair and the reduction of free radicals. amika the kure intense repair mask - this one, she’s more intense. She’s an intensive turnaround treatment mask that exists to repair, restore and revitalize weakened and damaged hair. Shea Butter smooths and softens with its vitamins, minerals and fatty acids, and borage oil reinforces the hair to make it shinier, softer and more manageable. ⭐️ Both of these masks are free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, mineral oil, petrochemicals and artificial colors. They’re vegetarian-friendly and cruelty free! Safe for color-treated, Brazilian-treated and keratin-treated hair. ⭐️ I’ve been loving both of these! With hair masks I prefer to get all the benefits I can and leave them on overnight, so that’s what I did with these. With soulfood, I didn’t leave any too close to my roots, and I rinsed it out of my hair thoroughly the next morning. No leave-in conditioner needed post shower! I was left with super soft and super nourished hair. With the kure, however, I had applied too much to my scalp area and I didn’t wash it out thoroughly enough the next morning, so I was left with greasy hair that only the next hair wash could save 😭 I did still feel and see the benefits of the repairing mask when it came to my previously sad and split ends, and I will remember that the next time I use this very thick mask that it needs a more thorough rinse out 😅 As always, these were such a pleasure to use.

Soulfood Nourishing Mask

I didn't waste any time trying
I didn't waste any time trying Amika hydrating hair mask duo out! First, there's the soulfood nourishing mask, which can be used several times a week, or just as conditioner. I have pretty thick hair that, despite my best efforts, gets tangled super easily, and this did a great job of smoothing it out. What's more, I didn't have to use a ton of product, which is usually the case for most conditioners. I keep it on for 3-5 minutes, and it leaves my hair feeling super soft, but not heavy. Onto the other one, the kure intense repair mask, which is, as its name suggests, a more intensive treatment for damaged hair. It's only meant to be used once a week, and you leave it on longer (10-15 mins). This one is SUPER thick, so it takes a while to both apply and rinse out. Since I don't color my hair, and only occasionally style with heat, I don't see myself reaching for this one as much- probably just a once in a while deep treatment. You can find them at sephora - superfood is $28, and kure is $38 for 8.5oz/250ml, though they also sell minis if you want to test them out first. Overall, I prefer the soulfood mask, but both are great treatments to keep hair healthy!

Soulfood Nourishing Mask

Battle of the amika masks
Battle of the amika masks
I have bleached hair and I recently got really serious about fixing the state of it (because 2020 has become the year of self care). I’ve tried everything from Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask to OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector and nothing really got along well with my dry, brittle ends. Soulfood was next to try on my list and when I mention it to my hair stylist she produced these and told me to give The Kure a try too since I was looking for something restoring. Let me just say- I am obsessed! I was hoping to try the smaller bottles and favour one over the other but to my surprise I want the jumbo tubs of both. I’ve seen a lot of talk around amika: - Soulfood Nourishing Mask so I’m not surprised that it was a godsend. It’s thick and buttery and leaves my hair super soft. It can be left on and used as a mask or it can be rinsed quickly as a daily conditioner. The only downside I found was that after using it as a mask it felt like a little bit oily (which is why I knocked a star off), but overall my hair was silky soft and my ends were less frayed. This almost makes your hair like a sheet of silk which might be weighing down if you have fine hair. amika: - The Kure Intense Repair Mask surprised me more than soulfood, I will say. I’ve seen it bouncing around here and it was always good but not the best. I thought this was a game changer for my hair personally. Unlike soulfood, this one is reco’d straight as a mask for weekly use. It’s suggested to leave it on for 10 mins or so but I like to do an hour or two (I’m working from home and I’m masking a LOT more simply because I can). This one rinses out so nicely and doesn’t leave any oily slick feeling. My hair is so soft and bouncy! It feels and looks so healthy and due to its repairing abilities I know my hair not only looks healthier but is actually healthier. I can go days with a blowout that still moves freely and isn’t frizzy, dry or weighed down. I’ve already ordered a larger size of the Kure and I’ll be doing the same with soulfood after the mini I got in my amika: - Brooklyn Hustle Haircare Bestsellers Starter Set is gone (I’m going to do a review for amika: - Perk Up Talc-Free Dry Shampoo as well) !

I’ll admit, I’m not the best a
I’ll admit, I’m not the best at taking care of my hair. My hair is naturally Afro kinky/curly and I tend to wear my hair either in braids, or just out; either blown out / straightened or a wash & go / twist out style. My hair is also prone to dryness and I occasionally get dandruff, which has somewhat subsided due to me switching up my hair routine a lil. Now if u know about hair types, curly/coily hair tends to be more prone to dryness naturally, as it takes longer for sebum to travel down the hair follicles and moisturise the hair. Though mine can be super dry! 😅 I’m definitely more motivated these days to take care of my hair🙌🏽 So I won’t be doing braids for a while 😭 - I’ve had my hair out all summer; will see how I feel when the weather switches up. Today I used The Kure from Amika, which was my first time using a hair mask in a while. The texture is quite dense and pudding-like and it smells like sweet shea butter. After washing it out, I found my curls were moisturised and defined. I also used some of the Velveteen Dream balm, which is a non-greasy formula, that left my hair feeling soft. Will update you guys on these products and styling too 🤗
