✨ powder + spray for the perfect base
I love my BB cream, but wearing it alone can start to look oily through the day. Plus, under eye foundation can start to crepe. Here’s the products I use to supplement it for a flawless base~ with a focus on my favorite powder & spray! 🌟 BASE 🌟 I’ve used the PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Super BB All-In-1 Beauty Balm Cream SPF 30for over a year. It’s a great BB that evens your skin tone, and looks natural. It’s also non-comedogenic, and has moisturizers like Shea butter. Only problem is it can look oily if I spend the day with no powder. 🌟 CONCEALER 🌟 I use the Too Faced - Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealerwhich was sadly discontinued. :( But it’s not matte, nor too heavy for the under eyes. I’ve used the L'ORÉAL - True Match Super Blendable Concealer& bareMinerals - BARESKIN Complete Coverage Serum Concealer, which were both comparable. ⭐️ POWDER ⭐️ In LOVE with the Beauty Bakerie - Flour Setting Powder in Oat (Translucent). It comes in the CUTEST bakery bag packaging when you get it, and it’s a loose powder. It has never felt too cakey, heavy, or overly mattifying. It has a blurring effect on my face. In the 2nd photo, it also seemed to brighten up my skin. My skin is sensitive, but it’s never irritated it- its gentle enough to even set under eye concealer. Beauty Bakerie powders have a large shade range, so deep & olive toned peeps don’t have to worry about a white cast. I’ve bought it 2x with my own money by now. It’s vegan, silicone + paraben-free, and flashback free. After trying other powders, I think this is my holy grail. ⭐️ SPRAY ⭐️ Let’s say you DO actually put too much powder on. A setting spray that makes you glow can help. I really enjoy the COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hydrating Setting Spray It’s affordable at $12, and comes with hyaluronic acid and 🥥 coconut water to moisturize your skin. It smells like fresh coconut with every spritz. With this spray over the powder, my skin looked glowing- but not overly oily. It also helps my eyeshadow melt into my skin, and just... brings the whole look together. Colourpop’s forte has always been eyeshadow imo, but I feel like they’re killing it in the base department now, too. I’ve used a lot of other base products before. I tried the Maybelline concealer, the L’Oreal True Match Foundation, the Urban Decay Naked skin powder and TonyMoly setting sprays. Some were too matte or broke me out, or just did nothing. I will def think of repurchasing these products when I run out (unless I want to try something new !) ✨ TLDR ✨ Use these products for natural looking, glowy (not oily) skin. Suitable for sensitive skin, and the powder has a large shade range.

Foundation Routine➖Before & After➖ HG Products
〰️If you need that perfect foundation base, you need to have a solid skincare routine!〰️ Skin type: Dehydrated, Flakey, Some Oiliness Skin concerns: Hyperpigmentation, Fine lines ▪️CLEANSING: This is the most important step because this product ORIGINS - Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash hydrates the dry areas/patches and controls excess oil from producing. Oil control is important over the day so it doesn’t break down your foundation and keeps it as fresh as possible, while the hydration part doesn’t let the foundation sink into fine lines and erase my color correction. ▪️MOISTURIZING: ORIGINS - GinZing Ultra-Hydrating Energy-Boosting Cream This moisturizer works great under foundation because it keeps skin hydrated up to 72-hours, keeping your skin smooth and your base perfect. CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator This product keeps your fine lines under control so your foundation doesn’t look weird. I have a lot of them around my mouth, where over time my foundation breaks down and color correction gets erased. This is really really hydrating, it’s insane! It’s like a layer of water on your skin. GLAMGLOW - POUTMUD Wet Lip Balm Treatment This is a HG product because it’s an amazing product to hydrate lips. It taste good too (I have the red one, and it tastes like mint). This feels like a wet lip stain which is barely there. It instantly gets rid of all flakiness and stays on all day. I’ve almost finished mine. ▪️PRIMER: Always wear The Ordinary - Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants sunscreen!! I love this one because it’s thick and creamy. It just adds another layer of hydration while protecting my skin from the sun at the same time. So affordable and lasts a long time. Doesn’t matter how much you’ve moisturized your skin, you need a good primer so your foundation has something to grip on. Milk MAKEUP - Hydro Grip Primer This is so good for my dry skin, instantly disappears fine lines and gets my skin prepped for that perfect foundation. COLOR CORRECTION: I have lot of uneven spots and hyperpigmentation that I like to cover. Which requires a heavy color corrector under my foundation that doesn’t budge. The SEPHORA COLLECTION - Sephora + PANTONE UNIVERSE Correct + Conceal Palette is really great because a little product goes a long way. It comes with an awesome and detailed manual so you can learn and apply color correction where you need it. The concealers are really thick and pigmented which I love. FOUNDATION: HUDA BEAUTY - Fauxfilter Foundation This is so good and pigmented. I need two pea-sized dots to cover all of face and imperfections. Its a little dry (it’s a matte foundation so it’s expected) but all that prep makes this a HG product!

It’s the battle against the concealers!
It’s the battle against the concealers. I have four contenders to share with you today. I rounded up my top concealers to share with you what I love and don’t love about them. Below are the top four concealers that I keep in my makeup arsenal. Next to each concealer, I’ll add in which color I personally use. My Skin Type: I have combination skin (dry cheeks & oily T-zone). My skin tone is light with yellow/neutral undertones. 1. Clinique Beyond Perfecting Super Concealer (Very Fair 06) This is a 24-hour concealer that I love to hide my undereye bags with. I love that it’s 100% fragrance-free, and it has more of a liquid consistency compared to other traditional doe-foot applicator concealers. 2. Maybelle Fit Me Concealer (20 Sand) Not only is this the cheapest option on the list - it’s my personal FAVORITE. I can’t say enough good things about this bad boy! It’s full-coverage, non-drying, a perfect shade match, and it’s under $6. I can use it under my eyes, around my nose, and to cover up any pesky pimples that may come up. 3. Too Faced Born This Way Concealer (Light Nude) This is a super full coverage concealer, but I feel like it’s a bit drying on my skin. I think this may be best for someone with more oily skin than I have. I notice I get a little dry under my eyes if I don’t use a heavy-duty moisturizer underneath when I apply this concealer. While it’s a nice formula, and I know this one is loved by SO many, I don’t really see the hype. 4. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (Light Sand) This is another one of those concealers that people rave about - and this one I totally get! This stuff is wonderful. It glides over my skin and gives excellent coverage. I do wish I had maybe gone one shade darker, though. My current shade works well in winter, but it’s a bit too light for my tanned skin in the summer.

BEST Drugstore Concealer Dupe
I love makeup, but one thing I don’t love is shelling out my hard-earned dollars on overhyped products that don’t deliver what they claim they will. Dupes are cheaper alternatives that perform almost identical to their high-end counterparts. While I haven’t had much luck finding drugstore foundations to replace my high-end faves, concealer is a different story. The Concealer Faceoff: My hidden drugstore gem is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. I use the shade 20 Sand for reference. This is not only one of my favorite concealers of all time; it’s almost a perfect match (formula-wise) to my Too Faced Born This Way Concealer, which I use in the shade Light Nude. The Too Faced concealer is full-coverage and rings in at $30. It’s excellent for camouflaging pimples and under-eye circles. I know many girls use this particular concealer in a few shades darker than their natural skin tone to contour. The Maybelline concealer, on the other hand, costs anywhere between $5 - $8. Sometimes with drugstore makeup, where you purchase it can affect the price. I found that Target ($5.99) and Walmart ($5.34) were the cheapest options in my area. Ulta sold this particular concealer for $6.49. I love this concealer because it’s lightweight and doesn’t sink into my fine lines. What’s Better? In my opinion, the Fit Me concealer from Maybelline. I notice I gravitate toward this concealer more than any others in my collection, including fan-faves from Nars, Tarte, and Clinique. This is the best drugstore concealer I’ve come across thus far on my makeup journey. I have already been using it for years and even converted my mom into a Fit Me fan! You can see the swatches of these concealers in the photo! The top swatch is the Maybelline concealer, and the bottom is the Too Faced concealer. While the colors may not be a perfect match, the formulas are nearly identical. My Skin Type: I have combination skin (dry cheeks & oily T-zone). My skin tone is light with yellow/neutral undertones.

bye-bye eye bags! where to apply concealer
SO FIRST THINGS FIRST My skin type is very sensitive. I use concealer to lighten my under eye bags and cover blemishes. So when I use concealer, I opt for light to medium coverage. There’s a few pros and cons to that. 💖 PROS -Light, liquidy concealer blends more easily without looking cakey. -Often comes in a tube with a sponge for easy application. Makes it more neat than solid concealers that need brushes. 🖤 CONS -It won’t cover dramatic blemishes... BUT I used the Too Faced - Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer to brighten my face with success! I like this product because it doesn’t feel thick. But any liquid-consistency concealer will do! ⭐️ The MOST important thing I suggest is that you apply it in a triangle under your eyes, AND in the inner half of your eyelid. When you have dark eyes from sleep, it doesn’t stop under your eyes. It extends like a big C onto your eyelid. Applying a light, non-cakey / liquid concealer all around this area makes it turn into a natural, energized look. Other tips I suggest for concealer are: ⭐️ Apply it around your lips. Especially helpful if you have peach fuzz. But this also makes lipstick pop more. ⭐️ Yes, do a triangle shape under the eyes. But apply it in dots. A lot of tutorials put a solid triangle of concealer under the eyes before blending. There’s nothing wrong with this, but in a rush, it can accidentally look cakey or heavy handed. To avoid this while still getting brighter eyes, “dot” your concealer in a triangle to disperse less product. ⭐️ Blend with your (clean, washed) finger. The warmth of your finger can get into gentle places like the inner eye corner. And it melts the product into your skin. It’s like baking, but not. With baking, the warmth of your skin helps the powder set in. With this, it’s the warmth of your finger. PLUS, sometimes applying concealer to your finger first can help you apply exactly how much you want. What hacks do you have for making tired eyes look brighter?
