10-step Korean method
10-step Korean method
* Please know that this is NOT NECESSARY and I’m sharing as someone who has done a small amount of research regarding the topic. I personally refuse to go without a double cleanse, tone, mask treatments (3 times a week), treat, moisturize & SPF. __________________ The 10-Step is more than a routine—it's a lifestyle that has become a global phenomenon, grounded in Korea's cultural obsession with healthy skin and backed by decades of scientific advancement. * It's not about having more products than you can count, but rather about having the RIGHT products that do the right things, and using them in the right order. Having what works for YOU is important. Again, this is NOT necessary! 1) Remove makeup & sunscreen with an oil cleanser. I use a balm or an oil. I recommend huangjisoo - Pure Perfect Cleansing Oil 2) Follow up with a water based cleanser - INDIE LEE - Brightening Cleanser is one of my favorites. 3) Exfoliate - Do not exfoliate more than twice a week or you can damage your skin barrier. I have a few I enjoy YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial & The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution as well as TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser 4) Tone - I personally love a good hydrating toner. Toners are great at removing any residue that may have been left from your cleanser as well as preps the skin to effectively absorb the products to follow. INDIE LEE - CoQ-10 Toner is one of my absolute faves as well as YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner 5) Essence - the right essences will be lightweight and packed with a blend of hydrating, anti-aging and complexion enhancing ingredients. Some of my faves are TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener & CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Essence Also this is when I’d add my HA The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 6) Treatments - this is where your specific needs come into play. From treating hyperpigmentation, dark spots, acne and fine-lines, this will be where you add those targeted products. Vitamin C, AHA/BHA serums, retinol...etc. Medik8 - Crystal Retinal CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Radiance Serum The Brightening Solution and a good vitamin c are my must haves! Be sure to know what can safely be used together. 7) Mask - following the K-beauty method this is when they would add a sheet mask. I rarely sheet mask and use more topical masks. 8 - Eye cream - I personally don’t have any favorites. 9) Moisturize - Yes everyone should moisturize. Pick one that suits your skincare needs (no fragrances or essential oils) 10) SPF- EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! Let me know your thoughts regarding the 10-step method. #CherieCreator

▪️ saturday skin wide awake brightening eye cream: as brilliantly suggested by devsday , I've been storing this in the fridge and it's perfect for depuffing in the morning, getting me as close to "wide awake" as I'll ever be ▪️ caudalie vinoperfect concentrated brightening essence: maybe I'm just super into essences at the moment, because this is another one I've been reaching for often- packed with antioxidants and glycolic acid, it does a whole lot! ▪️ overose x coveteur candle: the more I burn this, the more I get the tropical notes of a beach vacation without any of the effort or sun exposure ▪️ belif moisturizing eye bomb: this is perfect for nights because it's nice and hydrating without being too heavy ▪️ fresh rose deep hydration face cream: I've been rationing this sample as long as possible, but sadly I'm nearly through it and extremely tempted to buy the full size, despite not needing yet another moisturizer in the least, because it's just that good

You Don’t Think You Need Essence Until You Come Across This!
You Don’t Think You Need Essence Until You Come Across This!
If you’re a skincare addict like me, you know as well as I do that glycolic acid is such a power ingredient when it comes to minimizing fine lines, evening out the skin tone, treating huge pores, and sloughing off dead skin cells. So, when I came across this essence, I knew I had to try it out. CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Essence   I wasn’t a fan of essences, after my first ever purchase a few years ago (that was the iconic SK-II Pitera Essence). Unfortunately, that expensive essence didn’t really do anything on my skin. My faith for essences has been revived when I saw this virtually sitting on Sephora while I was browsing. Since I loved the brand’s hydration serum from its Vinosource range, I thought this essence will do wonders on my skin the way its serum has done. Turns out, I was right!   Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Essence attributes its powerhouse brightening and smoothing features to glycolic acid, white peony, and Caudalie’s signature organic grape water.   Glycolic essence is an exfoliant; it removes dead skin cells and gently sloughs off dry skin that’s lurking on top of our faces. It’s an effective ingredient for revealing a newer, fresher layer of skin, rendering us a more youthful look. It also assists in collagen production, which therefore helps in minimizing fine lines and wrinkles and maintaining skin’s youthful glow and elasticity. White peony unclogs and tightens huge pores, making our skin look younger and tighter. It’s a natural anti-inflammatory agent, which aids in treating skin inflammation and treats redness, rashes, and skin scarring. It’s Mother Earth’s natural brightening ingredient, eventually leading to fading of scars. The brand’s signature organic grape is a wonderful moisture-sealing and calming agent.   This essence felt hydrating on my skin, and I felt like it allows the rest of my skincare product to be absorbed by my skin easier, making them work twice as hard to give me the best skin ever. The combination of glycolic acid, white peony, and organic grape water is the perfect hybrid of ‘chemical’ exfoliation and sealing of hydration after, rendering us youthful-looking, glowing, and evened out skin tone. I can’t recommend this enough!   Another good news is that it’s vegan and is made from 100% natural ingredients! Winner!

I'd share a few of my Caudalie
I'd share a few of my Caudalie favorites: ▪️ Premier Cru serum is easily one of my all-time favorite serums - I realize a $150 serum is not reasonable, but damn if I don't love it anyway. It's incredibly hydrating and definitely helps with firmness. Probably not a must until your late 30's or so, but until then I'll savor every drop while I have it ▪️ Beauty Elixir is probably one of their most popular and well-known products - a luxurious face mist with grape water, rosemary, mint and rose oil that can be used throughout the day. It sets makeup, tones, or just brightens and energizes with that signature Caudalie scent. It does contain alcohol, so be careful if your skin is on the dry side, or is sensitive ▪️ I got really into essences in the last year, and the Vinoperfect Brightening Essence is fantastic! It contains glycolic acid to gently exfoliate, white peony extracts to brighten, and grape water for an extra punch of hydration. You only need a few drops per application, so even though it looks like I've barely made a dent in it, I really do reach for it often ▪️ the vinopure skin perfecting serum is a must for me in warm weather, as the natural salicylic acid helps to reduce oiliness without being overly drying. It does have both fragrance and essential oils in it, so sensitive types beware, though neither have ever irritated my skin. ▪️ I love a good eye cream, so it wasn't much of a surprise that I loved the resveratrol lift eye lifting balm - it's got a surprisingly light texture, but still very hydrating. It sits well under makeup, so it can be used both AM and PM

Essences I’m currently using ✨ 🤍Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Essence: I like how this essence makes my overall complexion really bright and glowy! This essence isn’t hydrating enough for me on its own, but I find that with mostly all essences I need to follow up with a hydrating toner or serum for my dry skin. Because this has glycolic acid in it, I can’t use it everyday otherwise my skin texture will get worse so I use this a couple time a week. 🤍 Missha Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence: I think I talk about this essence so much but it really do love it! I’ve been using this for about 4 months now and it has helped reduce the breakouts it get on my cheeks! It’s also just great at calming my skin down when its feeling a little sensitive.

look inside my travel bag! how’d I do?
look inside my travel bag! how’d I do?
let me start by saying I always always always miss my skincare collection when I travel. it is nearly impossible for me to condense everything I’ll want to use in a small, TSA-approved, clear bag! but here was my last attempt: CLIO - Micro-Fessional Cleansing Oil I use this before I double-cleanse because I use waterproof mascara. this cleansing oil was INCREDIBLE. I didn’t even need a cotton round for this, just applied it using my fingers. it got it all off! smells so good, and non irritating at all! not surprised though, korean skincare is where it’s at . FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm I always double cleanse—my favorite first cleanser is this one. it is hands down the best I’ve ever used. you apply it to dry skin, massage it in, and then add water to emulsify. it rinses completely clean, never leaves residue, and get EVERYTHING off DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample this is just aight. idk what to say about it. it does it’s job, but I don’t think the brand, it’s values, or the price tags align with me. not into it. I’m just using this so it ends lol. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner the only reason I didn’t give this 5-stars is because it is kinda anti climatic. it didn’t do anything wrong, but it didn’t wow me. I reserve my 5 stars for things that really impress me! CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Essence I love caudalie, but same. this feels, looks, and smells like water. meh. Embryolisse - Lait Crème Concentré I LOVE this stuff. I’ve used it as a mask, a moisturizer, and as a primer. perfect for everything. but as a mask it definitely protects and brightens! it also lasts a super long time. love this thing. PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Sheer All Day Moisture Defense Lotion SPF 30 Sunscreen Lotion top 3 favorite sunscreens of all time. perfect finish, no white cast, absorbs quickly, and leaves the most beautiful finish on my skin. I have a couple backups of this! okay—so how’d I do? would you use my skincare if you needed a routine? let me know in the comments!! ♡
