My Top 5 Foundations for Oily Skin
Here are my top 5 foundations for oily/combination/acne prone skin! These are by no means my only favorite foundations, just the ones I keep going back to. 1. ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation This matte, oil-free foundation controls oil all day. It’s sweat, heat and humidity-resistant, waterproof and 24-hour colour true. With buildable, medium-to-full coverage that feels lightweight and so comfortable. No touchups needed. Best for hot weather/ holidays. The only Downside is that it doesn’t come with a pump 2. MAYBELLINE - Fit Me! Matte & Poreless Foundation This foundation is a must have if you are looking for a good drugstore option for oily skin. It’s super affordable and gives a beautiful finish without feeling heavy on the skin. 3. HUDA BEAUTY - Fauxfilter Foundation is perfect for you if you are looking for full coverage. Just a couple of pumps go a long way. However, the formula isn’t ideal for anyone with dry skin or for people sensitive to string fragrances. 4. L'ORÉAL - Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Longwear Foundation This formula blends unbelievably well and you can build this to completely full coverage! ! I'm beyond impressed for this being drugstore. 5. The Ordinary - Colours Coverage Foundation with SPF 15 this is my everyday foundation and gives good enough coverage. I just have to mix two different shades to get my color as the range is quiet limited but for the price I pay, I don’t mind. Always stay away form words like “dewy”, “luminous”, “shiny” , “glowy” if you have oily skin. Let me know if you have any questions.

My flawless Primer/concealer/foundation combo!
BECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector tarte - Shape Tape Concealer ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation The Becca primer is very hydrating and makes such a great base for putting on makeup! I actually think the purple tint is helpful for canceling out some dullness as well! Next I apply Tarte shape tape and while I love this for days when I want a full coverage look, it can look very dry very quickly. Before applying you need to make sure that your under eye is very well hydrated, otherwise shape tape will age you. Next I apply Estée Lauder Double Wear which is my favorite full coverage foundation! This foundation looks better the longer you wear it. It’s like it melds with the oils on my face and just keeps looking better throughout the day!

mask-proof makeup for oily skin! 😷💫
whether you’re oily or not, I have the best mask proof makeup that have been my tried and true makeup items since before covid because of my oily skin! I don’t wear makeup under my masks often, but when I do, I make sure it doesn’t budge so if I do take my mask off, I don’t have any weird lines on my face. sharing some of my tips and tricks below 👇🏼 for reference, my skin type is oily/dehydrated with light/medium skin tone. foundation: my longest wearing foundation is ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation ! I’ve been wearing this foundation since high school and I find that if you use a small amount, it’s not too cakey or thick. I’ve had the best luck applying this foundation with a brush instead of a sponge? because a sponge soaks it up too much. PRO-TIP: super oily or want to prolong its wear even more? pat a thin layer of translucent setting powder BEFORE applying the foundation. I do this on my nose before putting on a mask, so it doesn’t rub off there. powder: holy grail powder is laura mercier - Translucent Loose Setting Powder ! I bake with this powder in the areas that my mask will rub against a ton (the sides of my face and along the bridge of my nose) and my makeup stays unmoving under my mask. bronzer/blush/highlight: PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer has always been many peoples HGs, and one of the reason it’s mine is because it stays put all throughout the day. if I use this under my mask, it doesn’t budge or transfer. I also pair with any blush and my fave ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Amrezy Highlighter lips: although my favorite is gloss, I can’t stand the feel of gloss sticking to my mask or transferring onto my mask so when I do wear makeup under my mask, I opt for a matte lipstick. to make sure it stays put and doesn’t transfer, I apply as usual and then blot away with a tissue. another option to make sure your lipstick really sticks around is to take a single ply of tissue paper or toilet paper, place it on top of your lips, and dust some loose translucent powder over it to further mattify it and help it stay out. brows: although my brows don’t go underneath my mask, my holy grail non budging brow product is ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade - truly waterproof and super easy to apply, just use a light hand and a tiny tiny bit of product. hope these product recs helped you guys! feel free to share some of your mask proof recs down below. ❤️

My fool proof routine for the perfect base!
Forming a base routine can be so tricky, time consuming, and expensive! Especially with my combo skin! When I wear foundation this is the routine I follow. After my skincare has had a few minutes to soak in, I start with sunscreen! Sunscreen over long term use is going to help your skin look more even and bright! It’s so much easier to get the glass skin effect when you don’t have dark spots or an uneven tan. I’ve been using the LANCÔME - Absolue Premium BX Regenerating and Replenishing Care SPF 15 Skincare but there are certainly cheaper options out there! (I’m a big fan of the COOLA - Classic Face Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 50 ) Next, I spread the LANEIGE - Glowy Makeup Serum all over my face. It’s very emollient and spreads easily on the face without being oily, so I feel comfortable even using this around my t zone! Then I fill in my pores with the e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer Moving my finger in circular motions I apply this to my t zone: inner cheeks, center of the forehead and chin. This is typically when I would apply eyeshadow, but I only used one shade in my crease today to focus on the face. It’s the ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Norvina Eyeshadow Palette shades Love and Incense mixed. Then I move to the under eyes. I use the BECCA - Under Eye Brightening Corrector Because I am fair to light and have a pink - neutral undertone this works as a concealer for me! If you are yellow or strictly neutral this may not work for you! I use my finger to gently pat this on my under eye starting towards the inner corner and blending outward. Next is foundation. I use the AOA studio - AOA Wonder Blender This is the best beauty blender dupe I’ve ever found and it’s only like $1. I pump two pumps of the ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation on the back of my hand and start blending it out using a sponge. I do make sure to blend it on down my neck so I don’t get a foundation line. I am in the shade Ecru. Then I dip into my NATASHA DENONA - Diamond & Blush Palette . Still using the sponge, I blend the cream blush (top middle shade) into my cheeks starting at the top of my cheekbone towards the hairline. This helps prevent getting a lot of product in the middle of your face where we want to bring light! With my finger I blend the cream highlight (top left) over the blush at the very top of my cheekbone. I usually line this up with the outer corner of my eye. If you’re a bronzer person like me, you can apply bronzer using a fluffy brush to your temples, nose, and outer perimeter of your forehead. I use the BECCA - Sunlit Bronzer because it has a sheen that makes it look so natural! This is the shade Bronzed Bondi. I finish by dusting a light amount of the Coty Airspun Powder #cheriepartner

My flawless matte base for oily skin
Hey everyone! It’s a new start to the week and I wanted to share my oily skin matte base for make up. Lately I’ve been purchasing a lot of foundations because I wanted to try something different and nothing compares to this base routine. I’m at the point where I don’t even know why I’m trying other things 😂 I have majorly oily skin with acne and pigmentation issues. Primer - COVER FX - Gripping Primer I’ve tried a lot of gripping primers that have left my face very cakey (looking at you Milk Make Up) and this by far is the best one on the market. It retails for $38. It is a clear gel primer that has a little bit of tackiness to it. Cover FX suggests it’s best for normal to dry skin but I’ve never had a problem with it. It creates beautiful tacky base for my make up to stick to without feeling cakey, causing texture, or pilling. Foundation - ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation THE BEST FOUNDATION FOR OILY SKIN. EVER. This formula for me is a more medium to full coverage so it doesn’t cover all my post acne pigmentation but with a light second layer it immediately goes to full coverage without ever feeling cakey. It dries down which is essential for oily skin so it’s not slipping and sliding all over the place. It never settles into my pores and my managers at work always compliment my skin when I’m wearing this. It’s like having a second, flawless layer of skin. It retails for $43 which is pricey but well worth it. I think my only critique is there is no pump (you can buy one for $10 😭). I always use a sponge to apply. I have the shade 1W1 Bone. Concealer - NARS - Soft Matte Complete Concealer One of my favorite concealers! It retails for $30. I actually apply this with my fingers as I can really get into all the creases and crevices of my eye and blend it out fabulous. I find it applies best with the fingers. It’s a matte yet creamy consistency that isn’t too heavy on the under eyes. It’s also perfect to apply on acne spots before you apply your foundation. I have the shade Chantilly. Powder - FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder & laura mercier - Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes I use two powders for my base only because I have very apparent fine lines under my eyes. The Laura Mercier powder is the only powder I’ve found to really minimize those. It retails for $28. I take a little fluffy crease brush and dust it on my under eyes after my concealer. It’s so finely milled it blurs the area while brightening it. I was shocked the first time I tried it. Then I use the Fenty powder all over my face. It’s more of a fluffy powder and the lavender shade doesn’t darken my foundation like others can. It retails for $32. Sometimes I will end with the Urban Decay All Nighter to melt the powders into the skin but not always. 🖤 #CheriePartner

My perfect foundation shade! Double wear in Ecru
ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation This foundation claims to be a 24 hour full coverage foundation that dries down completely matte. It’s consistency is very liquidy but dries down completely! Ecru is supposed to be light with neutral rosy undertones which I think is accurate but it was a bit more golden than expected. My skin’s undertone is pink but it’s a subtle pink, so I enjoyed that there was an option for a foundation with rosy-neutral undertones! This foundation does dry down to be very matte so it doesn’t work as well for me in the winter when my skin has more dry patches but it’s my holy grail for summer and fall! It can cause me to break out if I use it for weeks without a break but it is full coverage so for me that was kind of expected. The last photo of me is without foundation so you can really see the coverage! Overall I really love this foundation and I definitely think it’s worth the $46 price! Especially because it is so full coverage you don’t have to apply a lot and the bottle lasts a long time! I would recommend it if you’re skin is oily or combo/oily!
