Highlights
What Else You Need to KnowInfused with thermal mud, marula, bamboo, and superfruit, Juju dissolves pore-clogging, excess oil, surface debris, and impurities while gently exfoliating for softer, smoother skin with visibly improved clarity. This bar is free of fragrance, essential oils, soap, and silicones and has a pH level of 6.3 to cleanse without drying or stripping. Drunk Elephant is committed to using only ingredients that either directly benefit the health of the skin or support the integrity of their formulations. The brand focuses on healthy pH levels, formulations the skin recognizes, small molecular structure that’s easily absorbed, and effective active ingredients that also support the skin’s acid mantle. All of their products are designed to be mixed together—what Drunk Elephant calls making a smoothie. (This is true for all of their products except their sunscreen, Umbra, which sits on top of the skin, protecting it from UV damage.) The result is skin that is reset to its happiest, healthiest state. Drunk Elephant is a supporter of IEF (International Elephant Foundation) and is cruelty-free.

Mini facials make a huge difference
Mini facials make a huge difference
First, skin care is self care. I love everything about it and take joy in each step. It’s my alone time, my pampering time, my skin means a lot to me so I take care of it time, and so on. And if you’re not dancing alone in your bathroom, you’re missing out- you should be! 😆 If you have 10 minutes to add to your routine once or twice a week, do it! This is an example of a quick night time treat for my skin - gentle cleanse, mask, oil + vit c. It makes a difference. I would add in a scrub but I already scrubbed in the am. I like to remove eye makeup with an oil cleanser or this gentle make up remover - it’s target’s dupe of neutrogena oil free makeup remover. Next I cleansed with DRUNK ELEPHANT - JuJu Exfoliating Bar I love a cleansing bar. Don’t be afraid to use soap on your face, assuming it’s a clean beauty brand soap that’s made for the face. We’re not talking about washing with Zest! That’s a no no. Then on to a mask. This is a little known brand from Colorado called Telluride Glow. This is the Snow Rose Powder Active Recovery Mask. You mix a little water in. It’s awesome! Last, I used Telluride Glow Alpine Pure Oil Luxe Facial Hydration mixed with some DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum Finish with eye cream. I’m using Nuria - Defend Triple Action Eye Cream Oh yes, I wiped my décolleté with pixi - Glow Tonic Voila! Each little treat you give your skin makes a difference. Have fun!

Exfoliants: Which One Should You Be Using?
Exfoliants: Which One Should You Be Using?
I have combination skin and suffer from hormonal acne as well as eczema. I utilize exfoliants for a variety of reasons, but my main goals are fading hyperpigmentation and improving skin texture, as well as preventing blemishes. With exfoliation, less is more. Frequent use of the same type, or too many types, of exfoliation can compromise the skin barrier, leading to redness, sensitivity, irritation, itchiness, dryness, flaking, increased breakouts... just, a lot of bad stuff. So I try not to use the same form of exfoliation successively- that is, if I use a BHA one day, I’ll wait a day before using it again. I choose different exfoliants depending on my goals: • Physical: My favourite physical exfoliant is DRUNK ELEPHANT - JuJu Exfoliating Bar since it’s the bamboo and charcoal granules are tiny and round, allowing for gentle sloughing away of dead skin cells. Physical exfoliation really helps with texture and can help unclog pores as well. This is one of the most easy-to-misuse forms of exfoliants, so be sure to not overscrub or overuse! • AHAs: Alpha hydroxy acids are synonymous with the word “peel”. They unglue dead skin cells, offering effective surface exfoliation that leads to smoother texture and a radiant glow. I personally don’t really care for most AHA products, as they’re too abrasive for my sensitive skin. I love PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Lotion but use it only 1-2 times per week, as I prefer... • BHAs: Salicylic acid is my favourite chemical exfoliant. Oil-soluble, it exfoliates more deeply and effectively than AHAs, clearing out pores yo reduce congestion and help prevent acne. It’s also more gentle than most AHAs. I love and recommend PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator for anyone that suffers from acne, enlarged pores, or blackheads, as well as uneven texture due to congestion. I usually use it 3-4 times per week, but have reduced to twice per week due to starting tretinoin. • Azelaic Acid: Azelaic acid is unique in that it’s not an AHA or a BHA. It’s actually an antioxidant already naturally present in the skin! It not only offers exfoliation similar to AHAs, but does so more gently and has stronger efficacy when it comes to fading dark spots. It’s also amazing at preventing blemishes, thanks to being antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory. I recommend PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster for those struggling with acne, dark spots/PIH/hyperpigmentation, and uneven tone, it’s my absolute favourite when it comes to Azelaic Acid products due to the texture and gentleness!

Juju bar is one of Drunk Elephant’s most under rated products in my opinion. I prefer to exfoliate chemically versus physically. I would hate to scrub too hard and cause a micro tear in my skin. In comes Juju. It’s a gentle, lathering, exfoliating, cleansing bar that doesn’t strip your skin. The bamboo powder, clay and Marula oil work wonders. It’s even safe enough to use several days a week when you want to give your other exfoliants a break. The full size bar runs $28 but will last you several months. It’s 5 out of 5 ⭐️ for me.

Happy Friday everyone! Who else loves Juju + Pekee? Seriously, I adore these bars so much. Pekee is my morning cleanser and sometimes my second cleanse at night! When I am in need of some exfoliation but nothing too harsh, I reach for Juju! These two are so great to have and literally so affordable and come in so many different sizes + kits. Give these beauties a try and let me know your thoughts on them and which is your favorite 💗🐘✨DRUNK ELEPHANT - JuJu Exfoliating Bar DRUNK ELEPHANT - Pekee Bar
