I grew my hair long and strong
I was always a heat styling person, I never embraced my natural curly hair and I always used to flat iron them my whole life. Until back in November I stopped using heat styling tools, especially flat iron and my hair is this long now!! My hair always grow fast, and genetically I know my hair can grow knee length. My mom had very long, luscious hair in her teenage and I got that inherited in me. Blessed! 😊 But seriously, what can help hair grow longer and healthier?? I believe the following tips and products can help: 1. Eliminate heat styling as much as you can. This is the first step in finally focusing and be able to invest your time and money in reversing the damage. 2. If you have curly/wavy textured, coarsed hair... start embracing it. It's okay to not have flat managed hair all the time. You can always use some nourishing oil like Moroccan oil to tame the frizz. 3. Incorporate Fatty acids,Omega and Vitamin E in your food. Fish is a great option but if you're vegan/vegetarian, Greens, whole grains and fruits are great option. 4. Maintain your hormonal levels with diet and light exercise. I'm not pointing out towards not eating junk (which I adore myself) and not exercising daily. Just a little for you to feel good is enough😊✨ 5. Use nourishing hair oils and masks to pamper your hair weekly. 6. Last but not the least, use gentle products that will help you with your desired hair texture and finish. I'm listing down the products I've neen enjoying and they're really helping me maintain my waves and curls so that I don't feel the need to heat style my hair often 👍 Also these products are my Holy grails now, they're very affordable and work amazing for curly and wavy hair types💖✨ @cantubeauty Shea butter Shampoo and Conditioner cantu - Shea Butter for Natural Hair Sulfate-Free Hydrating Cream Conditioner cantu - Shea Butter for Natural Hair Sulfate-Free Cleansing Cream Shampoo @cantubeauty Define and shine custard cantu - Shea Butter for Natural Hair Define & Shine Custard @pacificabeauty Pineapple Curls shampoo PACIfICA - Pineapple Curls Curl Defining Shampoo @igkhair Mistress hydrating hair balm IGK - Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm @thedrybar Prep rally detangler drybar - Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler @aveda Damage remedy daily hair repair AVEDA - Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair AG hair care Fast food moisture leave on conditioner AG hair - Moisture Fast Food Leave-On Conditioner

How To Detangle Hair Without Damaging It
I have fine medium length wavy hair. I have been really focusing on trying to grow it longer. The key to growing it longer is keeping it from getting damaged. My hair tangles very easily after washing it and when I sleep on it. With trial and error with all types of products and tools, I discovered my go steps to less damage and detangling the right way. I purchased the Wet brush that is meant for detangling hair. I never realized that brushing my hair with the incorrect brush when my hair is wet or dry can really do damage over time. This brush was really life changing for my hair. I use it on my wet hair once I am out of the shower or even sometimes in the shower after conditioning. The bristles are really soft and when you use it, it doesn’t pull at your hair at all. I start from the bottom of my hair and work my way up. I have noticed I was losing a lot less hair when I started using this. It is worth trying to prevent further damage in the future. I will not go without it. There is also a product I will use while brushing my hair wet that helps with any knots. It is the Dry Bar Prep Rally, Prime and prep detangler. This product has definitely been a game changer with my hair. Not only does it help with any tangles, it also is heat protectant. So, when you use any hot tools, blow dryer, straightener, or curling iron it will help protect your hair from any damage. I will apply only when my hair is wet all over. This is something I will not go without after washing my hair. I lose less hair and after blowing drying it leaves it soft and smooth and smelling amazing.

My hair stylist when I go to have a haircut, when he/she dampens my hair and try to comb through it, they always tell me I have really dry/frizzy hair and they always have hard time combing through my tangles. I always have tangles in hair, and I never looked at it as an issue but since I started using this Prep rally Prep and Prime detangler spray from @thedrybar drybar - Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler my hair is so smooth to comb through and manage after a wash. This spray has given me the concept of not having any tangles in my hair and I think that's the best thing that could happen! 💕 - Biotin: Protects hair against dryness and increases strength/elasticity deep into the fiber of the hair. It is basically a lightweight detangler that protects hair from heat (up to 450°F/232°C) and preps hair for optimal performance of styling products. And I think anyone with any hair type and texture can get good advantage of this product! 🌟 Also it has amazing ingredients to nourish and maintain healthy hair like: - Vitamins B and C: Nourish and support hair flexibility, strength, and texture to help improve overall hair health. - Sea Berry Oil: Maintains moisture in the hair shaft, leaving hair feeling soft and conditioned but never weighed down. This spray is almost like water and not even like a leave on serum. No oil, no heaviness only water that will make hair smooth and soft so that we can work our way to blow dry or air dry our hair! Love it! 💕✨🔆❤ Have you tried this product? . . . . Comment down below if you have any questions ⬇

COMBINATION HAIR CARE ROUTINE 💆🏽♀️
Combination hair; it’s so little talked about but many of us are dealing with it! What is it: Combination hair is usually when an individual has an oily scalp with dry ends. This translates to the oils from the scalp are having trouble working their way down to the ends. Who is more prone to have this hair type: -curly hair -frizzy hair -long hair How I care for it: -It’s important to realize you are essentially trying to treat 2 different hair types at once. (Ex: Using hair products for dry hair will not help the oiliness.) -SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER : instead of using the same shampoo and conditioners. Buy a clarifying shampoo specified for oily hair and a moisturizing conditioner for dry ends. I shampoo and condition 2x a week. -MASKING: it makes sense to use 2 different hair masks for the two different concerns. I mask 1x a week. For my scalp I use a clarifying mask in the shower and for my ends, I apply a moisturizing repair mask to damp hair. -CARE TIPS: * use a detangler spray on your hair before brushing out. It will help cause less damage. * Use a boar bristle brush daily to help spread the natural scalp oils down the skin. * Use a wide tooth comb in the shower after conditioning. * On those days where your scalp is looking a little greasy, opt for a dry shampoo. * On those days you want more shine to your ends, use a hair oil. Just make sure not to apply to the scalp! I have been sticking to this routine for about a month and I have noticed less knots and tangles, shinier ends and a more manageable oily scalp. The Best & The Blah - Hair Products @ Sephora
My hair is long, fine, and blonde naturally but has also been bleached and colour treated for years. So with it being fine, that means it’s extra delicate and I have to make a special effort to take good care of it in order to prevent breakage/damage. I do a lot of shopping at Sephora (more than I’d like to admit) and have tried my fair share of brands and products when it comes to hair care. While I will say that most of my hair care favourites are NOT from Sephora (they’re from the salon), I’m here to showcase some of my faves products and some that are just meh...here we go! 1. BLAHBriogeo - Apple Superfoods Shampoo & Conditioner Hair Pack ($35/bottle CAN) - I like the light scent and I feel it does a decent job overall, but it’s not my favourite and I don’t feel it’s worth the price because it’s very basic. 2. BESTOUAI - OUAI Leave-In Conditioner (Full Size $34 CAN, this is a deluxe sample) - I use a leave-in every single time I wash my hair because my hair is long and fine and gets tangled so easily, so leave-in helps to combat that. I will definitely be purchasing the full size of this! 3. BLAHOUAI - Detox Shampoo ($39 CAN) - I find that this does cleanse my hair decently well but definitely doesn’t deep cleanse the way some other detox/clarifying shampoos I’ve used have. I was hoping it would be a bit more clarifying than it is, but I’m also glad it’s not super harsh or stripping. 4. BLAHdrybar - Hot Toddy Heat Protectant Mist (Full Size $36 CAN, this is a sample) - this is a basic heat protectant and you can definitely find something just as good, if not better, for much cheaper. Overall, would not recommend this one and it’s very strongly scented. 5. BLAH drybar - Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler ($32 CAN) - this one is definitely meh...I’m not entirely sure it does anything at all. It’s very lightweight and doesn’t provide any hydration, it might be better suited for hair that gets greasy easily🤷🏼♀️ 6. BLAHVERB - Sea Texture Spray (Full Size $20 CAN, this was in a set) - honestly, I don’t really love very many aerosol texture sprays. I find that they don’t really do much for my hair, but I keep trying them because I really want to find a good one😆 7. BEST VERB - VERB Dry Shampoo ($20 CAN) - this stuff is BOMB! I got it in a set and have been loving it. I love that it’s not aerosol and it does an amazing job at absorbing oil and giving the hair volume and texture. Highly recommend! 8. BESTVERB - Ghost Oil ($20 CAN) - I cant believe I waited so long to try this! It’s lightweight but hydrating and is great at combating static and frizz - it doesn’t make my hair feel greasy or weighed down at all! #CheriePartner

✨HAIR ROUTINE for More Lively Curls
If you swipe you will see what my hair looks like when it dries naturally vs. after styling it! I recently cut like 10 inches off of my hair, and the stylist did a terrible job. and gave me crazy layers that I didn’t want, and my natural tight waves/loose curls went with it :( But this is what I do to get my desired curly look to hide the layers and avoid using hot tools. It works best when your hair is super wet/straight out of the shower. 1. drybar - Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler Give your hair a quick spritz of this for a shiny and healthy look while also helping you detangling it! I gave it 4/5 stars because I love the product but it has a very strong scent that I am not a fan of (floral + chemical) so if you are sensitive to smells I wouldn’t recommend it. 2. AVEDA - Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment Rub a dime-sized amount all over your hair and comb and through it to distribute the two products evenly. I also love this and think it keeps my hair super healthy and prevents split ends...but I also gave it 4/5 stars for the same reason above. Strong floral/chemical scent! This one is not as strong as Prep Rally but its definitely still there. 3. NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Curl Talk Defining Cream Its very inexpensive and it does a great job at giving me more defined curls. For this step I rub a quarter sized amount evenly through my hair, and then use another quarter sized amount while my head is flipped over and I scrunch my curls with the remaining product. 4. PANTENE - Curl Scrunching Spray Gel With your head right side up again, spray your curls generously on top and bottom while its in the right position/parted in the way you like. Scrunch it some more if there are any strands that need some more bounce. This product is my HOLY GRAIL! Also super inexpensive and it not only holds my curls in place ALL DAY but it also gives them extra definition at the same time. Keep in mind if you use too much in one area it WILL get crunchy but lighter use will keep it soft. (The picture that comes up when you click it on this app isnt correct - its in a spray bottle) 5. ogx - Hydrate + Marula Oil Shampoo, Elixir Serum Once its all dry I lightly run this over the top of my ends to tame any frizz that came out while drying. This oil does its job but its not my absolute favorite, mostly because its very very thin in consistency so I don’t think the eye dropper it comes with is the best method to distribute it, I would have preferred it to be thicker or just in a spray bottle.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
