Invisible Loose Setting Powder
Why It's SpecialThis light-diffusing powder has micro-refined spherical silica that help create a soft focus, diminishing the look of fine lines and imperfections while smoothing skin. The universal shade matches all skin tones, from light to deep, and blends in easily and effortlessly without ever looking cakey or powdery. Non-drying and suitable for all skin types, it disappears upon application to flawlessly set makeup for all day wear for a youthful-looking finish with no build-up or residue.
What It DoesThis loose, talc-free powder is made with micro-refined silica for an incredibly soft, silky feel. It floats weightlessly onto skin to set and smooth your look and gives skin a natural, shine-free finish. The invisible shade is colorless on skin, so it works on all skin tones. Like all Laura Mercier setting powders, it has a soft-focus effect that subtly blurs the look of fine lines and imperfection. It doesn't settle into fine lines or pores and never looks cakey.
What It IsA soft, ultra-light powder.
What Else You Need to KnowThis dermatologist-tested, non-comedogenic product is free of oil, talc, and fragrance.

Winged Eyeliner for Monolids!
Classic winged eyeliner look for monolids! I know for us eyeliners are such a struggle 🤪 I personally view eyeliners as a way to make our eyes more defined. Because monolids fold in, eyeliners can literally vanish on our lids when we open our eyes. So believe the key is to embrace this fact, and work on the parts that will show ❤️ I used NYX - Proof It! Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer and then the medium brown shade from stila - Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Eye & Cheek Palette as my base. Using an eye primer and then a shadow definitely helps the eyeliner stay put. For monolids, having a lot colors AND a winged liner can be overwhelming for our eyes, so I like a simple brown base, just to add a little depth. In terms of the process: 1. Draw a line of your preferred length from your outer corner. This will be you wing. Usually I follow the same angle as my lower lash line because this can usually ensure that it fits my eye shape. I used RIMMEL - Exaggerate Eye Definer in Starry Night, which is a black color with silver glitter just to spice it up. It’s a bit soft and breaks easily. But as long as I sharpen it gently it’s fine. Plus it doesn’t smudge. Just don’t touch it for a bit and let it set, otherwise it will disappear. 2. Draw a line from the end of the wing to the midpoint of your upper lash line. 3. Make sure you like the shape. Then fill in the triangle. 4. Draw along your whole upper lash line and then gradually fill up upward, until it connects with the triangle you just made in a smooth line/shape. Usually I need to fill up the part of my lid that’s folded in. 5. Smudge the tip of the line with your fingernail gently to create a sharp end. (6. Optional, up to personal preference, connect the triangle to your lower lash line and smudge a bit. So the liner “hugs” the outer corner of your eyes.) Then I use a puff and laura mercier - Invisible Loose Setting Powder on my entire eyelids to help stop it smudge or transfer. Important for us monolided people.

Faye Wang Sunburn Glam Makeup
Fun, Easy, and Semi Work + School Appropriate Halloween Makeup to Do at Home #2 Faye Wang had this iconic sunburn and edgy look on the cover of her 1998 album. I’m giving it a try and it looks surprisingly cute?! But of course I toned it down because well, still have class today lol. The star of this look is of course, the blush. Basically you apply blush from center of the nose bridge out to your temples, creating a sunburn effect. I brought some blush and bronzer all the way up to my forehead and on my entire eyelids. I also dabbed a bit of a subtle liquid highlighter in my cheeks and nose bridge. For eyes I just kept things simple. Strong, dark brows like Faye Wang did to give definition to the face. I used a dark brown shadow along my upper lash line and my outer corners, then a black eyeliner to deepen the lash line. I used a golden shimmer shade along my lower lash line. No mascara. For lips, I used a nude/neutral shade suitable for my skin tone and dabbed a bit of gloss on top. Everyday Red Lips / Ellis Red
Iconic makeup artist Ellis Faas passed away yesterday (Aug. 13). May her rest in peace. 🕯️ I’m using her signature lip color Ellis Red in the texture Milky Lips (L201). Ellis Red is based on the natural color of blood, while Milky Lips is a unique texture in between a traditional lipstick and a gloss. This is my favorite red lip color. I started wearing red lips on an everyday basis when I was in Stockholm, Sweden for half a year and no one knew me. And I’ve fallen in love with reds since then. To school and to work, with or without my glasses, red lipsticks have been my personal statement for years. I know I have rather flat features as an East Asian, so I love how “bold” lip colors add structures and definitions to my face. For everyday red lips look: I make sure I have a clean base and there’s no excessive colors on my face. I use one bronzer and one highlighter, swipe a bit of both on my eyelids, so everything is very consistent in colors. I make sure I have arched, clearly defined eyebrows, especially when I’m wearing glasses. So they can work together with the red lips to structure my face. I personally do not like “Instagram brows” because I think they look like stickers and definitely do not work on my facial structure. So I just use a pencil to emphasize the shapes, fill in, and use a gel to brush the hair up. Then choose a red that suits your clothes, your accessories, or your mood, or whatever you like. Enjoy it. Ready, SET, go!
I saw this product from Desi Perkins when I was watching one of her makeup tutorials. She put a generous amount of powder on her undereye area and called it “baking”. I was curious to see what it really does to your face so I had to try it for myself and I was definitely amazed. I have a dry skin but I usually put more on my undereye area using a beauty sponge to prevent the concealer from creasing and just a little dab on t-zone where I can get a little oily. It’s so light and sets everything in place. I’d say it usually lasts for at least 6-8 hours and it never looks cakey or powdery. If you have an oily skin, this is a game changer! I have recommended this powder to my friends and they are very pleased with the smooth and flawless finish. I know some girls are complaining about the flashback, it’s true! It happened to me once and I look like a powdered donut so I never use it when I know I’ll be taking photos at night! I love this product because it is free of oil, talc, and fragrance. It will always be a part of my makeup routine. laura mercier - Invisible Loose Setting Powder @cherie#cheriepartner
