LIP SCRUBS
LIP SCRUBS
WHAT ARE LIP SCRUBS? Lip scrubs soften and prep the lips for a treatment or lipstick thanks to gentle sugar exfoliants. This is best to use for lips that are either in need of TLC (due to dry, patchy lips) or even the softest lips just to keep the lips in good shape. ————————————— When lip scrubs first came out and became a huge thing as one of the skincare routine steps or even makeup steps to keep your lips smooth and look nice before you apply any type of lip products, I made my first purchase with this SEPHORA COLLECTION - Lip Balm & Scrub . . At first it was good and exfoliating but for some reason after the 2nd or 3rd time I used it, the tiny beads that “exfoliates” disappeared and it became a regular “lip balm”. I was honestly confused because it’s being sold as a lip scrub but it’s not (if I make sense?). As you guys can see if you swipe right ➡️ the scrub looks creamy but you don’t see any small exfoliating beads as it’s suppose to have for it to be a “scrub”. . . I mean for my overall thoughts and experience, the first time, my lips felt moisturized and smooth, the second or third time, the “scrub” was basically just a regular lip balm and didn’t give any exfoliation what’s so ever. I honestly don’t like this and DO NOT RECOMMEND. I get that it’s only $6 (0.1oz) but to be honest, you can use that money to add it on a better and much worth it scrub like the one from Herbal Dynamics Beauty - ACAI & MANGO SUGAR LIP SCRUB that’s $22 (0.5oz) . . I rate SEPHORA COLLECTION - Lip Balm & Scrub ONE ⭐️, if I can, no star at all because it’s the worst lip scrub ever made.

my favorite thing about this scrub is it’s smell, This lip scrub smells sooooo good. it smells like mint and menthol, and is sooo soothing to sniff hehe. the way the product is bottled makes it super easy to apply, its kind of like a lipstick. you can just spread it on your lips the way you would apply a lipstick! however, the scrub itself does not do it’s job. it does not exfoliate and smooth lips the way it claims to. The particles of the scrub are way too fine and sparsely distributed in the product to effectively exfoliate! although this product is under $10 and did hydrate my lips, I would not repurchase it since it did not exfoliate my lips the way it claimed to. This did not help remove the dry skin, and barely made my lips softer. I gave it two stars for the pleasant smell 🍃🌱🍃 SEPHORA COLLECTION - Lip Balm & Scrub

A solid lip balm!
A solid lip balm!
SEPHORA COLLECTION - Lip Balm & Scrub What it is: a lip balm with nourishing honey extract. My lip balm flavor is rose. The cost: $7 My thoughts: I am really not amused by this trend of super expensive lip balms (🥂🐘, I’m looking at you), so the $7 price tag is much more my speed. Along with honey extract this lip balm has shea butter and a light rose scent, and it nourished and softened my lips. I didn’t feel the need to constantly reapply when I was using the balm, and I like the thicker balm that covers all of my lips with one swipe. I like rose so this was a winner for me, and I recommend checking out one of the flavor variants that appeal the most to you.

It’s a no on this lip scrub

This lip product from Sephora is neither a scrub nor a balm and is better in the trash. THE PRODUCT: A range of lip balms and scrubs, with a melting and gliding texture that hydrate and nurture lips all day long. The lip scrubs soften and prep lips for a treatment or lipstick thanks to gentle sugar exfoliants. Each features a fun flavor and ingredients that suit different concerns. Peppermint Lip Scrub: Exfoliates and provides a plumping effect. Honey Lip Scrub: Exfoliates and smooths. THE PRICE: $6 THE TEXTURE: Weird. Not scrubby? Like a chapstick but not as soothing. THE VERDICT: I am not of fan of these. They are not bad, but they’re not good either. The particles aren’t large enough to exfoliate and just feel gritty. I love the idea of an exfoliant in a tube but this ain’t it. The formula isn’t very hydrating either, and you have to layer and layer it on to feel like your lips are protected. Also, I couldn’t feel a plumbing effect with the peppermint at all. It was just kind of ... dry. I’ll use these until they’re done, which shouldn’t take long because you have to use so much at a time! Not worth it, would not recommend, but don’t absolutely hate it. SEPHORA COLLECTION - Lip Balm & Scrub I had been on the market for a lip scrub for a while before finally purchasing Sephora’s Rose Lip Scrub. You may be wondering why I didn’t just make a quick DIY lip scrub at home ala Pinterest. Well, simply because I wanted an exfoliater that I could carry with me at all times without it turning into a sugary mess. This product is marketed as a lip scrub that uses gentle sugar exfoliants to soften and prep lips for lipstick. This lip scrub comes in five scents: Rose, Dragon Fruit, Peppermint, Honey, and Kiwi. I initially wanted the Dragonfruit scent but it was sold out everywhere, so I chose Rose instead. I actually really like this lip scrub. It has very large sugar crystals that exfoliate my lips very well, and the rose scent is very light. I do notice a lot of dead skin falling off each time I use this, but it also isn’t painful to use. If I were to remove the dead skin with my fingers (gross I know), my lips would bleed. However, this lip scrub is just as effective but is also very very gentle at the same time. It also leaves a really nice magenta tint on my lips. At first I wasn’t sure if I should buy this or not because the reviews on the Sephora website made it seem like this was a hit or miss product. Some reviewers raved about it while others said that they found dead skin piled up on the surface of the stick. I’d say that this isn’t necessarily true. I too at first thought that there was dead skin on the stick, but upon further inspection I realized that it was just the sugar crystals. Because this is an exfoliater it’s surface isn’t as smooth as a lip balm. This is why the surface becomes a little uneven as the sugar crystals rub off onto your lips. The directions tell you to use this twice a week which is exactly what I have done for the past two months. I really do feel like matte lipstick looks so much better on me now that I’ve (finally) been exfoliating my lips. This scrub stick is sold for $6 both on the Sephora website and in stores. I’d 100% recommend this product to all my friends and family. I’d rate this 5 stars.

🚨Sorry to this scrub 👎🏾🚨
🚨Sorry to this scrub 👎🏾🚨
The product: This Sephora brand lip scrub comes in rose, peppermint, dragon fruit, kiwi and honey. Each one has different purposes. Kiwi, the one I selected, is the one that focuses on “exfoliating and shine.” Both formulas are in a standard cylindrical lipstick container and twist up to show a solid balm. The balm that encapsulates the sugar scrub is thick, but hydrates and absorbs into the lips well if you don’t overdo it. How to search for it: When on the Sephora website, it is important to realize SEPHORA COLLECTION - Lip Balm & Scrub are under the same product name. You have to select different names to see which ones are scrubs and balms. It would help if they would start out with balms and go into scrubs or vice versa, but they are all mixed together. My truth: I have been using this product for about 6 months and I wish I could say I loved this product, but I don’t. The sugar granulars don’t exfoliate well enough. At first, I thought I had to get through the top layer of balm to get to the scrubbies, but they just aren’t rough enough. By the time, you start the exfoliation your lips are covered in an excess of balm. The price of the product is great, but the actual product is not what I would want it to be. I would recommend this for someone who has sensitive lips. Price: $6 Purchase from: Sephora stores or Sephora.com
