The Farmacy products💫 — 🍯 Honey Grail is a luxurious and lightweight face oil meant to provide the ultimate hydration and glow ✨ She’s an antioxidant-rich and fast absorbing treat for the skin, and she’ll help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. She’s packed with nutrients like Farmacy’s proprietary honey, sea buckthorn and a 5 flower oil blend, which will replenish skin with omegas, vitamins and amino acids. This oil can be used on hair too, to boost shine and tame flyaways. 🍄 Better Daze Ahead is a restorative cushion cream made with full-spectrum CBD hemp oil and adaptogens. The powerful hemp seed oil in here will nourish skin with essential omega-6 and omega-3 acids, providing dry skin with intense hydration. CBD oil is there to soothe, calm skin and reduce redness, and holy basil, reishi mushroom and purple ginseng will help balance skin and protect against environmental stressors. Farmacy: my fave and least fave product
Farmacy: my fave and least fave product
I really like Farmacy a lot. They produce innovative, quality products, and I haven’t heard anything negative about them as a brand. I’ve tried a good number of their things (still want to try the famous Honeymoon glow tho!) so I feel like I have a pretty good knowledge of the brand overall. I like that they don’t have a million different products that serve the same purpose—while choice is nice, some brands have like eight cleansers and twelve creams and it just gets to be overwhelming for me. Farmacy seems to focus more on quality than quantity, which I can get behind. They’re also vegan and cruelty free, which is important to me. I started trying their products years ago when I first started getting into skincare, and I keep trying new ones because I really like the brand overall. Out of all the products I’ve tried, my favorite is green clean because WOW. I see why everyone is obsessed with it—scooping it out with the spatula is addicting, it smells incredible, and it instantly dissolves all of my makeup with no problem whatsoever. I don’t need to use a ton because I don’t wear a lot of makeup, so I think this tub will last me a looong time. Considering that, $34 is a good price. The only complaint I have is that it leaves a film on my eyes for a while after I use it to remove eye makeup—I don’t have that issue with The Ordinary’s squalane cleanser, my other makeup removing balm. Okay, so Better Daze Ahead is definitely my least favorite product that I’ve tried from Farmacy. It’s not that I absolutely hate it, but compared to others, I think it’s overpriced for what you get (at least for my skin). It claims to target dryness and redness, and maybe I’m not that impressed because redness isn’t a huge issue for me. It also contains CBD and adaptogens, which honestly I think are gimmicky ingredients that everyone seems to be adding to products now. The texture is very pleasant and I personally really like the natural, herbal smell, but... I haven’t seen any dramatic results from this. And at sixty!! eight!! dollars!! for a 1.7oz jar, I need this to clear my skin, do my homework, and clean my kitchen for me. This may be really great for people with severe dryness and redness, but for me it just is not worth the money.

Trendy super ingredients: CBD/adaptogens
Trendy super ingredients: CBD/adaptogens
There are a lot of trendy buzzword ingredients in many skincare products nowadays. One that I seem to see more and more often is CBD. Topical CBD is supposed to soothe irritated/stressed skin, and the related ingredient hemp oil helps nourish dry skin with fatty acids. Another trendy ingredient is adaptogens, a select group of herbs and mushrooms, which when applied topically can soothe and balance skin. Other popular products with these ingredients include HERBIVORE - Emerald CBD + Adaptogens Deep Moisture Glow Oil, YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha, and YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi. The FARMACY - Better Daze Ahead CBD Moisturizer contains 50mg of full-spectrum hemp oil (CBD), along with hemp seed oil and an adaptogenic blend of holy basil, reishi mushroom, and purple ginseng. Altogether, the cream is supposed to deeply moisturize skin and protect it from environmental stress. The texture of the cream is very thick and nourishing, and it has a light herbal scent. It feels cooling on my skin, but in a pleasant way—not minty or anything like that. I also want to share that it has coconut oil but did NOT break out my acne-prone skin. I only use this cream at night because it’s definitely on the heavier/thicker side. This cream definitely does moisturize my skin and soothe my redness. I’m not sure how I feel about the claim that it protects against environmental stress—that’s not really something I can see or feel, so there’s no way for me to know if it follows through on that claim. However, although I do really like the cream, the price of $68 is too high for me. I assume it’s due to the CBD in particular, but my skin is fine with other creams without CBD. I would recommend this if you want to try a product with these “super ingredients” and don’t mind the higher price point. #CheriePartner

Eco-friendly skincare 🌿
Eco-friendly skincare 🌿
For reference, my skin is oily and acne-prone, and my main concerns are acne and hyperpigmentation. I think the phrase “clean beauty” can be dangerous because there aren’t any standards for what constitutes “clean,” so a lot of companies are just trying to capitalize off of it. However, I do do research into how sustainable and environmentally friendly certain brands are, whether or not they’re “clean” brands. For those of us who love skincare but also want to be conscious of how our habits impact the environment, it can be difficult to find brands whose values align with our own. A lot of brands skirt the question of sustainability, or greenwash their products with designs and buzzwords that make them seem more eco-friendly than they are. Farmacy actually has a section on their website about their commitment to sustainability, saying that they do things like partner with organic farms that use sustainable methods. I know that they partner with beekeepers in upstate New York for the honey that they include in their products, and they also partner with a small farm in California. I appreciate their efforts to support local farmers who farm sustainably. In addition, their packaging is made with paper that’s certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a non-profit organization that sets high standards for responsible forestry. This means that the paper used in Farmacy’s packaging comes from forests that are managed sustainably. The inks used on Farmacy packaging are also based on naturally renewable raw materials (like soy). Last, all their jars are glass and made from recycled glass and are recyclable, as long as you peel off the label first. As far as I know, their plastic containers (like for Bee Clean, Clean Bee, and Green Clean) are also recyclable; just check your local recycling rules to make sure you follow them. As for the products themselves, all are cruelty free—because animals are part of the environment too! Some mini-reviews of the products seen here: FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser This is a lovely gentle foaming cleanser. It doesn’t strip my skin at all; the honey and hyaluronic acid leave my skin feeling clean and moisturized. The scent is beautiful, and a little goes a long way. I think this one is worth the price. FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow SerumI haven’t cracked this one open yet, but I’m super excited to! I just have too many other acids open at the moment. FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask I bought this full size after trying a sample size and loving it. The warming sensation is so luxurious, and it’s deeply moisturizing. FARMACY - Better Daze Ahead CBD Moisturizer This one has grown on me! It’s a thick, luxurious cream that helps a lot with my dryness from tretinoin. However, I wouldn’t pay $68 for it (I won this full size in a giveaway). #CheriePartner

DO’S AND DON’T OF FALL SKINCARE
DO’S AND DON’T OF FALL SKINCARE
If you’re a skincare junkie, you may already be swapping out some skincare products as fall and winter approach. Since colder weather tends to be harsher and more drying on skin, it makes sense to use different products in different seasons. For reference, my skin is oily and acne-prone, and I use tretinoin every night which can be very drying. In the fall and winter my skin tends to get dry patches. Here are a few tips: DO: Consider using a thicker moisturizer. In the summer months, a lot of us with oilier skin can get by just fine using a lotion or gel moisturizer. However, a lot of us will need a thicker cream in the winter, especially at night. Look for ingredients like ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and shea butter. I really like the PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer : it’s a pretty simple, no-frills cream that hydrated my skin deeply. I’ve also been using the FARMACY - Better Daze Ahead CBD Moisturizer sometimes at night, and it’s *very* thick and moisturizing. I took a star off for the price because $68 is just too steep in my opinion. DON’T: forget SPF! You need sunscreen in the fall and winter just as much as you do in the summer, especially if you use products like acids or retinol. I use the PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ every day; it’s my holy grail sunscreen (scroll back on my feed to see a more detailed review). I also use the PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Smoothing Primer Serum SPF30 under my makeup most days, and I love how smooth it makes my makeup, PLUS it has SPF. I typically wear the Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 as my base because I’m working from home and don’t want to bother with foundation, and i’ll use the Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40 on weekends when I don’t want as much coverage but still want to look glowy. DO: Consider adding an extra hydrating step, like a hydrating toner or oil. I just got this Herbal Dynamics Beauty - CollagenR8 Restorative COQ10 Facial Tonerbecause the ingredients are *very* similar to the Indie Lee COQ-10 toner, and so far I really like it! It’s definitely very moisturizing and soothing, and it smells amazing. I’ll usually use a few drops of the BIOSSANCE - 100% Sugarcane Squalane in the morning before my moisturizer because it gives me an extra layer of hydration, and I’ll use an oil like FARMACY - Honey Grail Ultra-Hydrating Face Oil or HERBIVORE - Orchid Facial Oil at night before my night cream. Steps like these have really helped my skin in the past during the colder months. #CheriePartner

A beautiful mistake
A beautiful mistake
Do you ever look at all your skincare products and just obsess over the colors and textures?!? 🌈 I sure do 🙋‍♀️ BUT...I’ve learned quickly that while yes, this is one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken, I also made a BIG MISTAKE!! 🚫 I used to get so excited (well, still do) when a new product arrived in my possession that I opened it immediately. I wanted to see and feel the beauty inside, and get it on my face!!! Well, every single product has a little thing called an EXPIRATION DATE! In opening up a new jar I am literally setting a clock which is usually 6-12 months before I have to use it up. And when you have so many moisturizers or masks open there is no possible way to use them all up in that time frame. I’d have to be masking several times a day! 🤦‍♀️ Every product you receive will have TWO DATES: * The expiration date without opening the package & * The expiration of the product once it’s been opened —————— What I do now is: 1) show some SELF-CONTROL 😂 2) Date each package as it arrives - I take a black marker and date the box so I don’t forget how long it’s possibly been in my possession. This was usually the case when I was getting so many subscription boxes as there would be so many, let’s say cleansers, that were adding up that I knew it would be some time before getting to them. 3) Date the product when opened - I usually find a discreet place to mark the day I opened it as I will probably be photographing it several times and don’t want the date showing ————— This seems simple and obvious but I urge you to really pay attention to your expiration dates. I’ve already had some I’ve had to sideline as they’ve expired. Also cutting back on my purchases and cancelling my sub boxes has made a difference. It’s exciting getting new products but there can be a level of overabundance! I’m definitely trying to be more conscious of my ‘needs’ and not my ‘wants’. 😉 Do you spot any favorites? All products should be reviewed individually in previous posts but let me know if there is one you’d like to hear about. Peace and health to all ❤️my @cheriefamily 🍒😘 #CherieCreator
