Alternative to Retinol- drug store dupe!
Alternative to Retinol- drug store dupe!
What is Bakuchiol? Pronounced ba-koo-heel, is an extract derived from the leaves and seeds of the babchi plant; a common herb used in Indian Ayurvedic and Chinese medicines. It has anti inflammatory and anti bacterial properties which help to heal, calm, and soothe the skin. According to a study in The British Journal of Dermatology, bakuchiol is not only as effective as retinol at targeting fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone; it’s also less irritating. Like a retinol, it triggers skin cells to create several types of collagen that are useful in skin health and anti-aging but unlike retinol it doesn’t causes excess dryness, irritations, and sun sensitivities. Can you use Bakuchiol with retinol? If your skin is sensitive to retinol, Bakuchiol is a perfect alternative. But, if your skin is not sensitive to retinol Paula’s Choice recommended that you use them together. According to Paula’s Choice Skin advice/ Ingredient spotlight— Yes, both ingredients can be used together. “Bakuchiol’s calming and stabilizing properties let retinol work better and increase skin’s tolerance to this well-studied ingredient (1). This duo can make an impressive difference for visible skin concerns like wrinkles, dark spots, and loss of firmness.” ACURE - Radically Rejuvenating Dual Phase Bakuchiol Serum This is a unique ampule with a top layer of antioxidant and probiotic rich essence and the bottom is a moisturizing serum blend of Bakuchiol, Blue Tansy, and Probiotics. All you have to do is shake well, apply a couple of drops on cleansed, toned, skin before moisturizer and oils. It sinks so well into the skin- giving it an extra bit of moisture. And it because it is so gentle I can use it day and night. I honestly didn’t know that it has blue tansy in it! It’s a perfect surprise and I need all the calming and soothing ingredients I can get this winter. I’m not sure if it’s a dupe for any of these other expensive serums below but if you are new to this ingredients and you are in the market for retinol substitute, you can get this $20 serum at Ulta, Sprouts, or Acure.com. Or if you are feeling fancy, can use it along side these serums/ moisturizer HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Anti-Aging Serum THE inkey LIST - Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Moisturizer BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum OLE HENRIKSEN - Goodnight Glow Retin-Alt Sleeping Crème Clean product: 🌱No Parabens 🌱No Alcohol 🌱No Sulfates 🌱No Nuts 🌱No Oils 🌱No Silicones 🐰Cruelty Free 🐰 Vegan Have you tried any of these serums or cremes? Pregnancy Safe Skincare 🤰🏽🤱🏽
Pregnancy Safe Skincare 🤰🏽🤱🏽
The one of the best days of my life was when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. My whole life changed from that moment on, I had to think about not only what I was putting in my body but what I put on my body. Two big pregnancy skincare no nos was retinol and salicylic acid, 2 products I often reached for but in the search for pregnancy safe products I discovered my favorite retinol alternative BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum and The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% and I still use both post pregnancy. ****Hey guys in my video I focused on what I think are the most important actives in a safe pregnancy routine but listed below is a step by step safe pregnancy skincare routine.*** AM Cleanse: Honestly in the mornings I would just wash my face with a cold wash cloth. It would help wake me up and the coolness soothes my puffy face. If you wanted something more hydrating I have been using DRUNK ELEPHANT - E-Rase Milki Micellar Water sometimes in the morning it's very hydrating. If I wasn't too tired I would apply my dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner it's thick almost an essence and toner in one. Then move to my pregnancy approved active The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% its very moisturizing. I wish I had NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% when I was pregnant because it has niacinamide in it as well. Azelaic Acid and Niacinamide have a lot of similar benefits: the both help with hyperpigmentation, skin tone/texture and helps fight acne. Lastly I loved my hydrating sunscreen PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Broad Spectrum SPF 45 Hyaluronic Cloud Moisturizer it's so hydrating I could even be the last step after using NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% PM Back then I didn't double cleanse but now I definitely would continue to do so. I would recommend using my BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Nourishing and follow with my favorite Kate Somerville - DeliKate Soothing Cleanser dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% plus NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% or NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% which already has niacinamide in it. if I used the ordinary Azelaic Acid that would be my last step- I'd maybe add a sleep mask like NATURIUM - Intense Overnight Sleeping Cream but if I chose the Naturium Azelaic Acid I'd finish with a heavy moisturizer - I can't even remember what I used back then but I'm loving FARMACY - Honey Halo Ultra-hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer - I will do a full review on this later.

Squalane 💜 the six star skin savior
Squalane 💜 the six star skin savior
has the best options for squalane containing products. They use ethically & sustainably sourced squalane made from sugarcane. I first tried the squalane + phyto-retinol serum, and absolutely fell in love. I have repurchased twice and will definitely keep a bottle of this on hand at all times. The squalane oil 💯 saved my dry ass legs. Love how much my skin drinks you this oil, and hydration lasting through the day. Used a couple times in my hair, but prefer other hair oils. Prefer the squalane + rose oil for face. My face broke out when I first tried the micronutrient fine mist, stopped using it for about six months, but was fine after I reintroduced into my routine. The glycolic renew facial was super yummy. Spreads like butter. Will probably grab another mini, but have other masks I like more and a full size would expire before I used it up. Unfortunately the omega repair cream totally broke me out, so I won’t be repurchasing. Overall, I enjoy the majority of Biossance line, and highly recommend the phyto-retinol serum and squalane oil for body.

My Biossance Faves!!
My Biossance Faves!!
Hey Babes!! 👋 Have you feel in love with Biossance like I have?!? As a Licensed Esthetician, I appreiciate that their products are nontoxic, effective and they are free from over 2,00 chemicals!! 🌱 I use two of their products: BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum This serum is awesome!! They use bakuchiol, a plant similar retinol minus the irritaiton!! Bakuchiol boosts collagen and elastin production. This helps reduce fine lines, wrinkles and exfoliates the skin mimizing dark spots and scarring. I like to use the serum at night when my skin can regenerate and love how lightweight it is for fast absorption. It goes on very smooth with no irritation. This also has Squalane and Hyaluronic Acid to bring moisture to the skin! The product is pricey retailing at $72 for 1 Fl Oz Bottle, but it;s worth the price tag for clean beauty! The next product is great for oily and acne skin: BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Tea Tree Balancing Oil This oil is such a life saver for oily and acneic skin!! It really helps control and balance oil production thank to tea tree, grouncherry, squalane and rosemary extracts! Tea tree is antibacterial and antiinflammatory making it the superstar ingredient in this oil! The tea tree smell is very light and non irritating. I use this in the evening after applying my moisturizer and when I wake up, my skin is crazy baby soft WITHOUT looking oily!! A little goes a long way too, so the product lasts longer. This oil retails for $49 in a 1 Fl Oz Bottle. xoxo, Blyssey #Cheriecreator #biossance

Trying new products. Versed, lamer, biossance✨
Trying new products. Versed, lamer, biossance✨
Starting off as always, with my trusty YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser I did used my pmd - pmd Clean Pro but my footage got cut off 🙃 BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Mask I will not review it yet as I need to use it more than once. But upon first impressions it felt good on the skin, glides on smoothly and doesn’t sting nor dries the skin out. It’s a creamy consistency but it does not run. So far so good 💁🏼‍♀️ will update* GROWN ALCHEMIST - Polishing Facial Exfoliant I will return the exfoliating paste from Aesop, this is waaaay superior and has a nice texture not to mention smells amazing & it exfoliates while being gentle enough!💖 *I will do a dedicated product vs product review soon. -UPDATED- Then I went in with VERSED - WEEKEND GLOW toner. Can’t really go wrong affordable, great ingredients, smells super great and awesome for traveling; plus it is clean and cruelty free. As for brightening effects I’ve used it only twice and will have to see. It doesn’t sting nor it doesn’t dry out my face which I feel would be a good everyday toner as they suggest. *will update* Sooo TONERS... 👀 I double toned (if that’s even a thing), I got the cocokind - Raspberry vinegar toner and decided to spray it afterwards as a treatment toner rather than a toner, toner! 😂. Let me tell you the toner is REALLY strong, feels more like an astringent and will burn if acne is present or skin is sensitive. NOT for those with sensitive skin, unless diluted. • Then I used my lovely Le Blanc Lotion by Chanel as usual five stars ✨ • After I used my serums in the following order: VERSED - ON THE RISE FIRMING SERUM I cannot say if it has done anything yet in terms of firmness and wrinkles as this takes more time. But the ingredients are phenomenal and for $20 you can’t really go wrong. Definitely will keep you guys updated!* BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum So far feels nice on the skin & left it really soft. Smells amazing. Gave it 4 starts since I need to see what it does in terms of texture. I did make the mistake of using this one first and then the retinol. In terms of consistency the latter is more runny and needs to be applied before this one. BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum I need to try it more before giving a final verdict. So far it feels good, has a lightweight consistency; it’s like a really light cream that turns into a serum and sinks in quite fast. The smell is definitely natural, not strong & dissipates quickly. And lastly, it’s definitely really gentle on the skin, no peeling, burning or dryness. BIOSSANCE - Radiantly Rose Duo Bang for your buck definitely worth trying! Perfect for those who hate a greasy oil. LA MER - LA MER The Moisturizing Soft Cream Holygrail❤️
