Biossance squalane rose oil: worth it?
Today I wanted to compare Biossance’s cult favorite squalane oil with a less expensive and lesser know squalane, the one by Hush and Dotti. The Hush and Dotti is approximately 1/3 of the price of the Biossance: Hush and Dotti: $52 for 2oz, or $26/oz Biossance: $72 for 1oz, or $72/oz Both of these oils have squalane as the main ingredient, though the #Hush and Dotti - Hydrating Serum[products]#[FiveStars] contains many more oils further down in the ingredient list: camellia, rosehip, rice bran, grape seed, argan, sunflower, carrot seed, pomegranate, perilla seed, black cumin, meadow foam, arnica, lavender, sweet orange, lemon, bergamot, sea buckthorn, and angelica root. That’s a LOT of oils, and while some people are very sensitive to essential oils, they come further down the ingredient list than the carrier oils at the top. Still, I would avoid this one if essential oils don’t work well for your skin. I really like this oil. The fragrance is pretty strong, but if you like earthy, herbal smells, this may be for you. In terms of how it feels on my face, it does feel a *bit* heavier than the Biossance (due to the fact that it’s not all squalane), but not by that much. I find that it sinks into my skin well. I typically use it as a nighttime oil, mixing it into my moisturizer, but I will say that because the smell is strong it doesn’t play well with all products—for example, one tried I tried mixing it with Glow Recipe’s watermelon pink juice and the scent profiles clashed so much that I wanted to just... wash my face. Regardless, this oil definitely does moisturize my skin, and it’s never made me irritated or given me a breakout. By contrast, BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil has just squalane, rose, vitamin c, and a few preservatives. Biossance’s squalane is made from sugarcane, if that means anything to you, and the rose oil and vitamin c are supposed to help fade dark spots and brighten overall skin tone. I’ll be completely honest, I *love* using this oil, but I don’t think it’s exactly a powerhouse when it comes to fading dark spots. I’d like to know the actual percentage of vitamin c in this, but Biossance doesn’t specify. Regardless, I use a few drops of this every single morning, and because I only need a few drops, the 1oz bottle lasts forever and ever (as it should, for $72). It’s a very light oil that sinks in and never leaves me feeling greasy. In the end, I really like both of these oils. If you’re down for a squalane blend with some other botanicals thrown in, I recommend checking out Hush + Dotti! If you’re hardcore dedicated to squalane with just vitamin c and rose—and you can handle the sticker price—the Biossance is a great oil, too. Both are moisturizing without being irritating, in my experience.

My favorite morning facial oil 🌹
If you’re looking to add moisture into your morning routine without ending up with a greasy face, STOP RIGHT THERE! This oil BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil from Biossance has been a recent addition to my routine (2 weeks of daily use so far) and I can confidently say I’m not afraid to use an oil in my morning routine anymore! This is a squalane-based facial oil featuring brightening properties in the form of rose and vitamin C. Now, I have used squalane oils in the past from other brands, but Biossance’s is 100% derived from plants and GIRL IT SHOWS! It’s extremely lightweight while still giving you an instant boost of moisture and it leaves you with an satin finish rather than a DEWY (or, lets be honest, greasy) finish. OH, AND, it has an amazing smell! I chose to use rose emojis in my photo because it smells so beautiful like roses! The scent isn’t overpowering either, just a nice added bonus. I have to mention since I’m a sensitive skinned lady that I have had ZERO, ZILCH luck in the past when it came to vitamin c products—they ALL gave me an instant allergic reaction of redness and itchiness. However, this is the first vitamin c product that actually soothes my skin! In my morning routine, I use 3 drops after my Hyaluronic acid serum and before my moisturizer. It gives me an awesome boost of moisture especially in this harsh, dry winter! Now, lets talk price: $72 for 1oz—ouch! However, with daily use for 2 weeks I’ve barely made a dent in it so I estimate it will last at least 6-8 months. For a high quality product like this, I find that reasonable. Is it affordable for everyone? Absolutely not, but skincare is one of the only things in my life that I splurge on, so I can justify it. I should also mention that Biossance always has a value kit with this oil in it so you have a chance to save money that way!! I have to rate it 5 out of 5 stars because it’s not only suitable for my sensitive skin, but it’s a product I actually look forward to using every day.

Facial oils - my experience
Even though I have combination skin, I try to incorporate facial oils in my routine. I feel like they are the bodyguard for our skin, they seal all the products underneath. I have tried two oils till now and here is what I thought: Initially when I used the Biossance oil I thought it worked great, but my skin started breaking out very badly after3-4days and I stopped using the oil all together. I was very scared to use facial oil after my bad experience with this. BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil Then I came across Drunk elephant and with all those glimmering reviews I decided to give Marula oil a try and I never regretted it. My skin didn’t break out at all. And the oil also gets absorbed by my skin quickly and doesn't leave an oily icky residue. I especially love using this at night, when I have more time to massage my face. It minimizes the tugging from facial tools or friction from your fingers. Not everyone likes or needs oils on their face; but if you do, then don’t think twice before buying this! :)DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil

SERUMS VS OILS ?! WHATS THE DIFFERENCE ?!
I’ve seen this mistake made in many routines, including my own! When first getting into skincare, and experimenting with all sorts of new goodies it can be tough sometimes to understand a products function and what order to apply each product. It took me forever to figure out how to incorporate oils into my routine without just making myself look like a greasy monster 🙄 So I wanted to bring it back to basics and talk about the difference between facial serums and facial oils ✨ SERUMS: ✨ These are a treatment step, serums contain up to 70% active ingredients making them highly potent and results oriented. ✨Serums are made up of small molecules that are able to penetrate and deposit powerful actives into the deeper layers of the skin. ✨Serums can have moisturizing ingredients, but aren’t considered moisturizers in the traditional sense. You need to follow a serum with a moisturizer to create a barrier on top and keep all the good stuff in. ✨You should always use serums before moisturizer and never as a replacement FACIAL OILS: ✨Are best suited as a hydration step, the molecules are much larger meaning they are only serving the outermost layers of the skin. ✨Oils provide a boost of nutrition and hydration, they help nourish and strengthen the skin barrier. ✨Oils should be applied after serums and moisturizer, and can actually be used to replace your moisturizer. ✨ You only need about 2-3 drops of oil to cover your face without leaving a greasy film. A couple of my favourite are: SERUMS: ONE LOVE ORGANICS - Botanical C Facial Serum The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% HERBIVORE - Prism 12% AHA + 3% BHA Exfoliating Glow Serum OILS:HERBIVORE - Emerald Deep Moisture Glow Oil YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil

Biossance is leaving me speechless...
-Thank you for reading me in advance. ✨- I recently made a post about the BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum . And I couldn’t ask more from this product. In the same order, I got the BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil which is this tiny strong bottle that you see in my hands. 🙊 This will be your bestfriend for Brightening and firming hydration. ✨ Ingredients on this product: Squalane: it boosts your hydration, making your skin appear more vibrant and healthier. It also fights skin’s damage and free radicals. Vitamin C: helps to diminish the look of discoloration, it will visible improved skin elasticity and firmness. Damascus rose extract: awakens the senses and boost healthy- looking radiance Chios crystal oil: revitalize the skin and improve the look of firmness Fall is around the corner so I am in need of extra hydration, and for this I prefer this Squalene vitamin C oil. 🦋My skin absorbs the product so quick! 🦋I feel it more hydrated and with a glowy finish 🦋 It has a mild rose scent, but it goes away in seconds... 🦋 I have a combination skin that is more into the oily side, but this oil controls my oily side very well. Can’t complain 🦋 It is good for all skin types as well This definitely will be a great help for a mature skin. My mom is using it as well, and She loves how her dark spots had been gradually fading and she wakes up with a more hydrating and luminous face. “I don’t look like a zombie anymore”- that’s what she told me when she used it the third time 😂 The price point is totally worth it, I got a $10 travel size to try this beautiful product before breaking the bank with the bigger size. But I will totally purchase the bigger size when I finish this one. 🙊😅 I hope you enjoyed my review! 🥰
